OK. A few things here:
1) There is no way this man has never been to an In & Out Burger until his 50's. If you didn't eat fast food as a mid-carder working your way up the chain in mid-90's WWF, you simply didn't eat. Ask any wrestler who worked the opening match for Raw back then what they ate. I guarantee you you'll get answers like "Wendy's," "Burger King," and "Waffle House." The reason is because they made practically no money in those days. The mansions, spray tans, and public divorces come much later in your career......"brotherrr."
2) As far as the lying goes, go ahead and read Tony Atlas's book. He was The Rock's father's tag team partner. Tells you everything you need to know about where The Rock learned this carny skill.
3) And as far as the shameless promoting goes, welp, he probably learned that from none other than Vince "Gropey Hands" McMahon. One of Vince's favorite catchphrases is, "GO OUT THERE AND MAKE ME MONEY." So, when you've been around that mentality since your early 20's, you tend to pick up a few things.

I some movies the clothes didn't even change, go look at his outfit for Jumanji, Jungle Cruise and Rampage. Dude clearly just walked between sets wearing the khaki outfit for Jumanji for 2 other movies.
People who play one type of character concern me. They're not acting whatsoever, they're literally unable to act so they get cast in roles that fit their actual personality.
Jim Carrey has range. He can make you cry (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind), he can make you laugh (most of his work, really) and he can make you think (The Truman Show). He is a REAL actor. People like Rock here who don't have that range simply "act" as the character they already know.
I think you're right though. "The Rock" was his wrestling persona, right? It's only natural he'd want to stick to that cuz he's comfortable. I mean, really, in his position I would be doing my own thing, streaming warzone 18 hours a day, sitting in a 1 or 2 bedroom house just kickin back and enjoying my life. He has enough money to invest it for continuous returns lol there's ZERO reason he has to attempt this appeal to everyone

The reason why Dwayne got such a vicious backlash from WWE fans is because we thought he'd aped Codys spot at Wrestlemania. We wanted Cody to finish the story and his sudden butt-in pissed everyone off.
Behind the scenes, Vince was in his scandal and WWE brought in The Rock, who had some of his best stuff ever with the villain role.

Truth be told, the Rock's ego is what's destroying his fame and reputation. Especially when it comes to his movie negotiations.
U hit the mark..🎯 He got caught with his hand in the cookie jar when he returned to WWE.. People saw even more clearer.. Vin CM PUNK amongst many others commented on it.. Hard to believe until he showed it by pushing Cody out.. Not a work or a shoot.. Dwayne is an Egotistical A******.. Real Life!!
He's proof why people aren't meant to be brands. People are just people no matter how perfectly you try to market yourself as a company.
The black Adam debacle really left a bad taste in a lot of people’s mouth. And that’s mainly that he brought back Superman, then that superman got cancelled, then he didn’t want to work with shazam although it made more sense for them to be in a movie, and he wouldn’t even cameo in the Shazam movie.
The no losing clause has to be the dumbest thing ever in his contract. I mean if they adapt a book in which the protagonist loses someone close to him, and rock stars in it, he would pretty much time travel back to save that person even if time travel isn't even the theme of the book. That's just unprofessional and downright dumb for an actor, as an actor if you are dying in a movie with noble causes it's pretty honorable. Instead of showing rock surviving a bazooka because he backed with muscles and aura😂 that's just lame
He can't act for shit
When your entire life is recorded you're going to make some WTF mistakes. We all make dumbass mistakes.
We're just fortunate enough to not have our every single move recorded and uploaded to the internet of webs!

Probably people get addicted to fame.
I was listening to a podcast with Dax Shepard once, who also has a shitton of money thanks to his wife, and the stuff he does. He said he is constantly hustling because he feels that all the stuff he earned could come crashing down some day and he would be back to being the broke dude from Detroit. Dwayne "The Ad" Johnson is so correct. 😂👍💯
I never understood Johnson's appeal, anyway. He's a lot like Seth Rogen in the sense that he's supposed to be likable and relatable and down-to-earth and "nice," but is quite obviously none of those things. Yup i remember it
I understand this criticism of The Rock, and it quite possibly could be fair criticism, but it's still coming from a movie studio. This part of the story could just as easily be a soulless movie studio slandering somebody because he's not doing enough of something they want him to do. Or The Rock really is grabbing too much power too quickly, and in that industry, someone powerful is going to be very upset or feel threatened if they aren't seen as the one giving The Rock permission. I doubt Hollywood studios want to collaborate with The Rock as much as they'd want to control / have a really strong say in him and his social media reach.
