You can tell a lot about a person by the way they treat the help. I think Muhammad Ali said - “I don’t trust anyone who’s nice to me but rude to the waiter. Because they would treat me the same way if I were in that position.” Says it all about Corden.
@@onionbubs386 Nah bro, you lot have to deal with Trump. I think you can deal with him. Plus insulting the great Patrick Stewart is a one way ticket to getting yourself yeeted out of the UK
The problem with James Corden and similar personalities (like Jimmy Fallen), everything has to revolve around them, they have “yes men” around them allowing their egos to explode and feel like they’re above the “average person”.
I couldn't believe he was going back and forth with him like that. That's a veteran in acting. He let his ego get in the way. I would have said "My bad. I'm sorry about that. I love your work, sir" and that would have earned him a lot more respect even in the press. What arrogant person he is. He looked pissed out his mind too but that's a story for another day. 🫖🍵
Huh? How could you say that. Did you watch the full clip? Patrick was horrible to him. I was 100% on James’s side. No matter how famous Patrick is, if he treated me like that I would do the same to him.
About 13-14 years ago I bumped into him in Tesco at the hight of Gavin & Stacey. He was on the phone ranting at someone while barging into people in his way. I thought he was just having a bad day, turns out it’s just him.
My favorite part of the whole "Cats" situation was that he had the nerve to go on stage at the freaking Oscars presenting the VFX category and blaming the VFX artists for how horrible the movie was. Imagine thousand of people complying to your art direction requests, only to be thrown under the bus one of the very few moments where they are celebrated..
Yeah, that was for sure one of the worst moments. As a fan of the Corridor Crew, who do a ton of VFX related videos with just their small crew, I was dismayed to listen him villainize the VFX artists and animators due to the director's poor creative leadership and the clash of interests. Those were the director's problems, not the artists' faults and he had no right to lay the blame at their feet. Could the Cats movie have been better? Sure! Was it just the VFX effects that made the movie as bad as it was? Nope. Anyone with half a brain would know that.
@Finster ye, none of the comments like that are actually real people. Only ever click on a link (or post one) if it specifically mentions what you are looking for.
Fun fact about cats is that here in Britain the exact same law applies to felines and James Corden. If you run him over with your car you don't have to report it or even stop either
I attended a taping of his Late Late show in 2019. He not only completely ignored the live audience, but gave a very clear non-verbal message that he did not appreciate them being there. The warm-up guy even apologized to us for it. And whenever Corden was off camera, he was clearly in a foul mood and numerous times seen talking angrily to staff members and scowling at others. That experience turned me off big-time and I have watched nothing of him except a couple clips of Car Pool Karaoke since.
All that fame and fortune is not necessarily a blessing. He might not've always been that way. My quiet life is right where I need to be. I see that more and more. I save for things I want. I appreciate simple laughs. I never want to stop appreciating conversations in the middle of the street with my neighbors. Life is good.
@@tiahenry4743 No. Initially ellen was _funny_ a little bit, or at least had special and shows that people appreciated. Mainly old white women or women in general. Kinda like Wendy Williams. Theres a specific demographic that watches daytime tv. He just was forced on us. Nobody watched him. Nobody tuned in for James Cordon. I never met anyone that liked him or his content, on the other hand, ellen in facebooks prime was everywhere. I even remember sophia and the other girl that met nicki minaj on there etc. Being on an Ellen was a "Brag" to artists and celebrities. Nobody brags about being on his show. Actually he needs the stars to show up, otherwise nobody would watch. Which isn't the case for the view or ellen or wendy when it was on etc. The celebrity needed them. Like Fallon, or Kimmel. To promote projects and albums. James needs everyones fans. Not the other way around. Nobody needs the 5 fans cordon may have. So no comparison here. James is just an overweight pile of garbage with the right connections.
True, being bullied for me actually made a different effect, where I would never want another to feel like I felt, and if someone is bullying another I would stand up for them cuz I know how that feels
Exactly, in fact I would even say that being bullied should make you a BETTER and kinder person, as you know what it's like to be treated like shit, so then you should have more empathy towards others. Oh well, not that obvious I suppose
I worked with James for 9 months on a TV show in the UK and I'm honestly so happy that the general public can see just how awful he is. If he thinks someone is above him on the social ladder (big celeb), he's the most brown-nosing, sycophantic, person there is. But to anyone he considers below him, he treats them like pure dirt. Normally on a TV studio set, the presenters will get to know the crew and become friends with them over the course of a a series. Not James. He'd refer to camera operators by numbers instead of their names, would bark orders at runners, and just generally be a horrible person to everyone he came across. In my career, I was lucky enough to meet many A-list movie and music stars, and most of them were actually very nice and friendly people to talk to. Not James. I worked in TV for 8 years, with many people who worked alongside Corden, and practically no one had a good word to say about him, even his bosses.
Well..u managed 2 stay there for many years despite his awfull behaviour..respect! 💯👍 He sounds very very narcistic..its just bad and very dissapointing. But many are in tv lalaland...unfortanally.
It’s surprising how long people like James Cordon and Ellen Degeneres can act so nice on camera and be so rude off camera for years on years without people coming for them
eh, usually when someone tries to makes something their entire personality it isn’t true, since both of them were commercially known as fun loving happy lovable people
I think the Weinstein scandal had a lot to do with stuff like this surfacing. The magic veil of Hollywood elites was destroyed when that story dropped. People were not only completely discusted with the entire industry, but lower level industry personnel finally had the courage and public support to start speaking out about some of these celebrities created highly toxic and inappropriate work environments. When before it was just protocol to keep quiet and brush it under the rug. They lost their "I'm famous status" excuse to verbally abuse and disrespect their staff. And no big surprise fans and viewers dont respond kindly when they hear about that kind of stuff. The whole wienstein thing just created a massive train reaction in Hollywood that went far beyond the metoo movement.
I met this James Corden guy in London a few months ago (he came to my shop). I can comfortably say that he is one of the most unpleasant human beings I have ever had to deal with.
When James played the needy, manipulative, passive aggressive bully character in Gavin and Stacey, he wasn't showcasing award winning acting skills. He was simply role playing as the person he truly is.
I think that’s exactly why he got that ego boost and set his hateable persona. If you’re acting rude and bratty and that gets you an award and into the public eye then that’s what you’ll want to do in order to become “more famous”. At least that’s what it seems like to me
James Corden is what happens when the fame gets to your head. There was a study done that identifies 4 main phases a person goes through when becoming famous and it fits James Corden perfectly
I've tried to put my finger on what exactly I've never liked about him, and I think it can be narrowed down to how insincere he comes across in everything he does. Whether playing a role or appearing as himself, he overcompensates what's required to the point of embarrassment, so its almost like parody. For an actor that's fatal, and for a TV personality it makes him very unlikeable. He just seems like he's placating or mocking his audience, because they actually have chosen to watch him. I get the feeling he was caught stealing sweets as a kid, wormed his way out of it with a bit of insincere it wasn’t me guv acting. And while sniggering at the stupidity of the person believing him, thought I could make a career out of this. Add on his reported bullying and the visible signs of this when the mask has slipped, and there's no reason to watch him. I don’t blame people making petitions to keep him out of things, his casting only adds a charisma vacuum.
@davidjames579 it astounds me how he became a talentless actor in a British comedy to having his own show. Must have had dirt on someone. I don't know anyone who likes or watches him.
When he had his tv show I never watched it cuz there was something about him that i didn't like either. People give out certain energy and you can just feel it
I find that in the UK, a lot of people liked him at first because we imprinted his character Smithy from Gavin and Stacey onto him IRL, which was further fueled by his comic relief skit playing the character. It was not long after that everyone saw he was the complete opposite from Smithy.
This is where I first saw him as the series ran on Netflix. I genuinely liked the character he played. Then I saw that lovable Craig was leaving his show to James and I was pleased, but then saw the show and started hearing all this nasty stuff about him.
Patrick Stewart is 100% in the wrong and to blame for that to come out and publicly attack and belittle a person on the stage is just not the place or time! Im surprised James Coburn held his temper with such a low disgusting attack by stewart!
I think in that reddit post "What celebrities are not as nice as they seem?" there's a story of someone on the same plane as James Corden who was sat next to a woman with a crying child and the reddit user thought it was nice he didn't get annoyed at the crying baby. Corden ignored it until the plane landed, but then when the woman stood up she turned to him and said "Can you at LEAST help me with the luggage?" and the reddit user realized she was his WIFE and that was his kid.
The one story I've heard about him that sticks to me the the most is this one person that saw him on a plane seated next to a woman and a crying baby. Corden simply put on some headphones and ignored them. Come time to get off the plane, the woman is struggling to hold the baby and get her stuff. Finally she snaps and says to Corden "At the very least you can hold your own child for a moment." The woman and child he was ignoring the whole flight was his wife and kid.
I worked in Tv and film production for a short time about 4 years ago and although i never meet James Corden any mention of he's name brought forth such venom and anger from the people who had. I think he had to leave the UK as nobody wanted to work with him again.
I can’t believe people thought he actually drove the vehicle during karaoke ?!? You could just imagine the insurance liability with those celebrities in the car. No production company is taking that on !!
@@Rahhelthethird they could have done all the drives on closed roads and have the car driven remotely with no steering wheel input allowed. have the story being that is on rural roads and they are signing to pass the time
A friend of mine was involved in a charity event that Cordon was brought into host. She said he was not at all the person you see on TV. Very arrogant, demanding and difficult to deal with. I was really surprised when I heard this, but looks like it may be true.
Bro all the Hollywood people are a bunch of arrogant woke idiots who live in their make believe world and don’t understand reality and issues people are going through.
Man, I would hate to ever have Patrick Stewert telling me off like that... He sounds like a kindly grandfather who's not mad, just disappointed. But this just reaffirms my personal belief that power/money reveals who people are

A person that is not nice to waiting staff is not a nice person. When he was exposed by a restaurant in London for his rude behaviour, that was the beginning of the end for him.
Let's never forget, he advocated in favour of reduced pay for writing staff at a WGA (Writers Guild of America) meeting. Pillar of the community that is.
@@ElvisLivesUpstairs I think if he didn't then he might get cut from his show or positions of power. Most celebrities are bought and paid for just like politicians, its no wonder when X company pays X person X amount, X person suddenly advocates for something they seemingly never would have before. Its why Politicians have constantly been cutting wages and making our lives harder because these are hard times and we are ALL feeling the squeeze, while they also vote to give themselves pay rises. Its all a sham and a scam.
What made me give him the side eye was when he got called out for the Caitlyn Jenner joke and started getting backlash online, he claimed it didn’t bother him. And instead of sticking to that claim and moving on, he kept bringing the topic back up and trying to defend himself. 🤦♀️ Also, the way he and Rebel Wilson just threw the animators under the bus for the Cat movie was just low. It’s not their fault your movie sucked, it wasn’t their idea to turn you all into animorphs stuck in mid transformation.
Honestly, this is a key right here. The controversial celebrities who do best are those who don’t care about their haters. Kanye West for example. The ones who get caught up trying to defend themselves always lose.
@@LEFT4BASS it reminds me of when Axl Rose from GNR wrote “Get in the Ring” calling out music reporters he didn’t like. He just came out looking like a petty asshole. Nobody ever comes out of that sort of thing looking like the good guy.
I assume you're talking about when they dressed up as cats for the Oscars? Because I searched for Rebel speaking badly about the film, and I couldn't find it. And think her and Corden are just not the brightest bulbs in the drawer. I wouldn't ascribe any ill intent there...they're just dumb people who were being dumb. That's why they picked the film, after all (not sure what Judi Dench's problem was lol).
I know, right? The clips I've seen of that, I always thought "man, I hope he is not honestly driving that car". With the cameras that must be set up the visibility must be decreased. Then the distraction of the conversations and singing, why would anyone think actually driving would be a good idea? I cannot even imagine what the repercussions would be if they got into an accident with an actual guest star in the car.
I recently listened to his episode on the Smartless podcast and when he was asked about his celebrity interviews he said: "I just love working with talented and passionate people". Usually a statement not worth mentioning, but in regards to his behavior around non-famous people it totally checks out! He considers non-celebrities untalented people and therefore not worth his time...
Imagine having Craig Ferguson as the charming person who made the most authentic late night show in the industry with almost zero scripted conversations and then having this guy.
Americans are used to accepting everyone’s garbage. As Canadians, we offered them Celine Dionne with no off-switch, then Nickleback, and years ago the unfunny Martin Short. They are stuck with those 3 useless entertainers, along with the egomaniacal William Shatner. We still love John Candy, and Eugene Levy, but that’s about it. Celine now has the “ I’m an obnoxious, ugly, fucking witch disease”, and Martin Short is back on TV doing commercials and still sucking his thumb, 45 years later.
No, "Mutually agreed to part ways" is the code for "I got fired but they gave me kind of an out." "I wanna spend more time at home" is code for, "I'm sick of this situation and wanna go away for a bit."

WOW! I really thought I was in a minority of hating him, mostly because I distance from social media for the most part. This is refreshing to know. Thank you.
The thing about Patrick Stewart, as far as I could tell, was he seemed to view everyone there as equals. He didn't see himself or James as more important and seemed to just be saying "You gave me that really nice welcome. Now give everyone else that respect too."
@@martimxavier9690 Nah, James needed a reality check. He would have been just as pissy if not more so if Patrick had told him this in private, let's be real.
Step 1: James didn't act disrespectful -> drama averted Step 2: Patrick didn't call him out publicly -> drama averted Step 3: James recognized Patrick did have a point and just took it like an adult -> drama averted I am inclined to believe that Patrick's public calling out was intentional and planned, because, echoing what D0MiN0 said, probably would've done nothing if discussed privately; James wouldn't have listened.

He was on Doctor Who, playing an average guy who becomes the hero of his story due to the love for his son. Really charming episode. After that, I've only seen him be horrible.
That's the first time I ever saw him, and I enjoyed his performance, thinking he'd have made an entertaining companion, but when he was hired to replace Craig Ferguson, I wondered who he blackmailed. Every time I've seen him after Doctor Who, he's struck me as someone who would do anything just to be famous, sort of desperate for attention and the limelight, which makes me, as a viewer, uncomfortable.
his episodes on doctor who are the only things i can comfortably watch with him in it, but even that is like half because of nostalgia and also because matt smith is there and he's a good dude thats fun to watch
I knew someone who used to work on sets. He was supposedly very rude to all staff when he would even bother acknowledging them as if they were beneath him. I remember him saying this years before all the allegations of him being a tosser came out. Side note, same person worked on sets with Benedict Cumberbatch and also with Martin Freeman and they were both supposed to be lovely and would make time for all the crew.
While Jimmy Fallon has flaws and isn’t a perfect talk show host by any means, the reason why I respect him so much more is because he seems like he’s a genuinely good guy who cares about the comfort of his audience and staff. I hear nothing but Positive takes about him when it comes to moments Behind the Scenes. That’s why even if he does come off as a bit annoying with his Fake Laughs and all that, when your known for creating a non-toxic work environment, making sure everyone around feels safe and comes off as an actual good hearted person, you’re a winner in my books. *Edited September 2023 Well I guess my comment here didn’t age well. LOL
Yeah, Fallon may have awkward responses and reactions at times but generally I find him as a pleasant person and would know when to back down or be humble. He kinda admits when he's wrong and there's no shame in that. In fact, people would respect you more for that.
Honestly thanks for saying this, not a big fan of Fallon but all criticisms are about him as a host (hes just not that funny) but he seems like a nice dude
I was on a movie set with James Corden and he was a massive diva. Didn’t want anyone to talk to him and always seemed like he felt like he was better than everyone. Meryl Streep and Nicole Kidman we’re also on that set and they were nice to everyone and all smiles. I wasn’t expecting James to be such a rude guy after seeing his tv persona
The “not actually driving car” during his carpool singing karaoke Is very much justified Every celebrity is insured and their insurance won’t allow them to do anything that could risk their lives. Specially being in a car with a driver who’s distracted by cameras and singing I’m actually glad they use a tow! It means everyone involved is safe!
I agree. I think a lot of the criticism is justified but I really didn't understand why people got upset at this. I always assume it was something like this. When that video came out I was thinking "well obviously..."
The bad press he is getting in America is NOTHING compared to how the British media is snarking on him. Now that he has quit his show, I really hope we never hear from him again
@@youtubeuserandchef471 I see you have NOT kept up with the story!! LOL Cos the little cretin of a man has retracted his apology and making excuses for his behavior. And he has been rebanned as a result

Because he's funny, yeah he's an asshole and you don't need to like him but it doesn't mean he doesn't have talent. Personally I don't like his comedy or acting but he doesn't target my demographic
What aggravates a lot of people, I think, is the way his career was forced on people. It wasn't like audiences thought, "Hey, this guy's really good, and we like him. " It was more the studios saying to the audience, "Hey! This guy is really good! And you are going to like him!" and then started shoving him into our faces until we just couldn't stand the sight of him anymore. Then you get to really see the nasty, repugnant side of his personality. His entitlement, his immaturity, his arrogance. But the killer for me was his response to the Mark Kermode review of the (F#ng god-awful) Peter Rabbit movie, where Corden thought the best way to make himself seem tough and cool, was to have his Mummy and Daddy write a letter saying what a wonderful boy their precious little James was.
Completely agree that he seemed forced on us. I remember watching him in Gavin and Stacey and he didn't do a bad performance, I remember thinking he was alright and people were talking a little bit about him. But then the next time I hear about him he's like the biggest name in American chat shows for some reason and I just didn't understand how he pulled that off.
This is actually a tactic Channel 4 here in the UK uses, or at least used to use, don't watch TV anymore. They'd have their big name celebrity comic like Jimmy Carr and then proceed to shove him in everything until people got sick of them and then they sort of vanish, only to replaced by their next 'big comic'.
Story time: I knew a British comedy writer who has worked on some bigger projects. One time a car was sent to pick him up in London for some showbiz thing. He was chatting up his driver and asked him, "So have you ever driven anyone famous?" and the driver kind of laughed nervously and said yes, and the writer could see he was kind of uncomfortable. He pressed a little more and the driver said the famous person they picked up wasn't great. The writer just had a hunch and flat-out asked him, "...was it James Corden?" and the driver nodded yes. Apparently the driver said one time he was sent to pick up James Corden, and James asked the driver to stop and get some sandwiches on the way to where they were going. The driver agreed but mentioned that he just had his car cleaned and requested James be careful. James said okay, and was quiet for the rest of the ride after getting the food. After dropping him off, the driver went to the back where James had been sitting and saw the entire interior absolutely smeared with mayonnaise, bread and gunk smashed into the seats and ground into the carpet with his shoes. It probably took this man a few hours and significant money to clean. All because the driver asked James to please eat carefully. What a petty little man who lives to bully others because he was once bullied. POS deserves to be shunned
@@Sillimant_ It doesn't matter if it's true. An massive a-hole like James Corden has thousands of untold stories just like this that we will never hear. True or not, it happened in some way to someone.
I worked with a guy who did a sideline of work as a James Corden double - he is literally the spitting image of the man and weirdly also called James. He’s done a lot of work on adverts where Cordon will do a couple of closeups and he basically appears in the rest - all of what you said about his arrogance and rudeness is spot on from what he told me Corden was like. He would turn up to shoots, barely interact with anyone - didn’t want to be talked to unless necessary and then would be gone ASAP. The strange thing is - this kind of behaviour doesn’t make him an outlier. There are other celebs that are similar, but I think the disappointment that he isn’t the jolly fat guy you think he is somehow makes it worse. I used to be an super “hate Corden” guy, but as I’ve got older I realised he’s just a human who’s a bit of a cunt but there’s far worse people out there
I agree, he’s definitely not a great person but i feel he’s (partially) undeserving of all this worldwide hate. Making blog posts and comments about this mf that he sees every day is definitely not helping him to be a better person. Hateful energy like this would be better spent on pedophiles and killers
Imagine being constantly over worked and filming shows for most days of the week. I think that unless you're a super chill person to begin with most of us would be a bit rude. But from what I gather his biggest sin here is keeping to himself? That's what you'd call introverted.
Yes. A-holes get famous too. I just wish that we aren't conned into thinking he is a decent guy, just to make the cash registers ring. He's a huge a-hole that plays a jolly guy, but there are actual abusers out there looking, and being rewarded, to the same degree.
Before he was known anywhere outside of the UK... A good mate of mine went to a live recording of some show this JC was in. Apparently he berated all the staff and shouted at various people who were just doing their jobs and looking after him. I knew this was coming. Couldn't happen to a more deserving person!
The voice over guy doesnt understand people absord 10-30% of the food so the point made is 100% correct! If a person is getting 300% the calories of another person from the same food! WORK IT OUT!
Just about the carpool karaoke thing.. there's laws against acting and driving. Basically, if a camera is rolling for commercial use (production money-making), you can't do anything except drive. No reading lines, no pretending to look off in the distance, no singing, nothing. Pretty much every car scene you've ever seen has been pulled on a trailer (or driven by a non-performing stuntman) since those laws have been enacted. The shocking part to me was when he said he had been actually driving in any of them.
Honestly, if he admitted to that and explained it's for safety reasons. People would have been miffed but understanding. Also would explain why every car commercial that shows it driving strictly does voice overs
I met James on set once and while everyone else was eating from the buffet, he was eating an audience members baby. Just fully chomping it while it cried. Everyone felt uncomfortable. Afterwards, he punched my grandmother in the face after she asked him for an autograph. Just appalling really.
The literal size of the balls you would need to try to argue with patrick stewart, on stage, is phenomenal. Absolutely crazy that anyone even attempted it.
Balls had nothing to do with it. That was hubris, narcissism and downright shameful behavior. And I don't even like Patrick Stewart beyond acting. He's so far left he probably supports pedos.
Correction - He wasn't the "main character" in Cats. There are no "main characters" in Cats because it's just a bunch of cats singing about themselves in a race to win the chance to be reborn. His character just shows up for one number and then isn't heard from after the fact in the stage play.
Are they really reborn tho? I think it's more like the island in the movie the island and it's all just a myth basically so they'll have something to live for. (and die for)
I’ll never understand why Hollywood kept casting him in musicals when 1) he was not well liked 2) nobody was raving about him being a great musical theater actor. Like, I get people are tired of the Rock being cast in every action movie, but at least he’s good at it.
Being publicly chastised in person by Patrick Stewart is literally the most mortifying thing I can imagine. Like unless James corden is his mortal enemy that was a bit cruel.
I couldn’t properly function for a time if Patrick Stewart spoke like that to me, I don’t know what iron will cordon has that makes him able to speak back like that but it’s not something I could find in myself
I give Corden a pass for that one, as much as I consider Stewart's Picard to be my favourite TV show character, you can't insult another man in public and then not expect them to clap back to save face. That's how a lot of fights start, dissing someone in public. Stewart was asking for it
Remembering some of the stories he tells about his childhood, typical fat kid/ teenager who got bullied, I can see why he didn't back down from Patrick Stewart.
Yeah. I'm not fan of James Corden, but the fact that people think he's the bad guy in that situation is beyond me. All he was doing was standing a little awkwardly, and Patrick Stewart responded in the rudest possible way.
I had the great misfortune of meeting him with my nephew. I was pretty indifferent to him but my nephew really liked him. I asked him if my nephew could have a picture and he just looked at me like I was trash and walked past. My nephew was devastated- we had waited hours to see him and he couldn’t even acknowledge a child.
In a way, that was a good life lesson for your nephew. It's probably a good idea to not put celebrities up on a pedestal, because they're still people at the end of the day, and some of them are dicks. They're no better/worse than the general populace, they just have more media exposure.
There’s something called ‘bearding’ that’s popular in Hollywood. Basically gay men have business arrangements with women that pretend to be their partners.
Yeah, my reaction to this video's title was "huh, didn't everyone already hate that guy?" All I ever heard about him was that he was obnoxious, unfunny and just suddenly came out of nowhere and got shoved down our throats. Him being an obnoxious twatwaffle outside of the camera seemed more of a "yeah ofc he is" than "oh no what a shock"
Beefing with Sir Patrick is ridiculous, but I feel like it’s cancelled out by beefing with Bill Maher, maybe the only cool thing he’s ever done. That still leaves every other thing mentioned in this video, so he’s still an enormous asshole regardless.
I'm actually surprised to learn this about James Corden. I was never a big fan of his show but would occasionally watch clips of his shows here on YT. Sad to hear that he seems to be a lot like Ellen DeGeneres. Again this seems to be yet another story of the Bullied then Becoming the Bully.
I feel sorry for James that this is the way he would learn these lessons. As a spectacle to others. But I also believe the wisdom he accrues as a result of this will be greater than that of a normal man if he can honestly admit to himself what he got wrong. I feel even more sorry for Patrick Stewart.
Well, that depends on how they lean into it. For instance, Roger Goodell, the commissioner of the NFL, knows that fans hate him. Thus, he makes sure to embrace the boos whenever they get the chance to boo him, even creating a booing session for himself during the 2020 draft when he conducted it remotely.
This is why Conan imo is the best ever talk show host. He is actually funny, is very friendly with the audience, rarely talks politics, and has never been on the news for bad things.
The lack of politics became VERY refreshing in the Trump era...seriously. An absolute oasis. Instead, Conan looked outward, with his travel series'. The most political he probably got was when he visited Greenland, which Trump was attempting to buy at the time XD (moron). That visit was predicated on Conan being an ambassador to Trump, in order to purchase Greenland.
Conan is the best. The cool part is that his assistant, Sona, and his right-hand, Andy, both have talked about his negative sides and how he does indeed need more attention than the average person. Like, his personality is that of someone who would indeed become a talk show host. The only difference is that he is self-aware and has a very kind and understanding personality to where he would rather learn and grow than become self-centered and arrogant. He always puts other people first while at the same time loving the attention he gets. He's great.
I don't think Patrick Stewart was in any way in the wrong with that interaction. Considering that was the only time he went out of his way to call out a presenter in a scenario like that speaks volumes, I suspect Corden was being even more rude towards him than we think.
i don't even think stewart was being that rude, it's not an unreasonable request to make and stewart is an older guy who probably has more traditional expectations of decorum. i think corden was in the wrong for escalating it instead of just saying he was sorry if he'd offended stewart and he wouldn't do it again.
I do think Patrick Stewart was right to tell James he behaves poorly, but probably shouldn't be doing that on stage. Being pushed to the wall James try to defend himself - and he did it badly. (I still think that James is fake and not nice person, just believe in criticizing in private)
@@Jackaxed Calling out someone out in public, on stage at an award ceremony is poor behavior on the part of Patrick Stewart. It doesn't excuse James Corden on how he reacted, but what Patrick Stewart did was not right. If he didn't like how James Corden is reacting, take it back stage.
@@maplenerd22 Even if Patrick was in the wrong the way James reacted was absolutely insane, seriously that's how I talk to people of my age, not my elders
You forgot one key moment that proves how much a jerk he is: the fact that he couldn't name a SINGLE camera person of his staff. There was a segment on the show where he is asked by Reggie to name a camera man and James Corden can't. Says a lot about you as a human being where you cannot name ONE single member of your team whom you work alongside with umpteen hours a day, however many days a week.
That’s probably pretty common among talk show hosts. Why would they take the time to get to know their overworked and underpaid staff? The film crew are just a bunch of replaceable pee ons.
You know that was only a skit, right? You can clearly see that all of this was staged… you are just hating so you get some clout. Inform yourself before judging someone with false facts. Be better.
He really strikes me as the kind of guy who was made fun of as a kid and once he got a small bit of power/fame he used it to get revenge on the world. Not excusing his behavior at all, he's still a tosspot
That's exactly correct. It's all psychology. He's projecting all that inner hate he could never deal with as a kid/teenager. When he was younger he was obsessed with boy bands because of this, he wanted the fame, the love and adoration of women because in his real life he was a complete nobody. In many ways he still is.
Which is kind of terrible, if you think about it. When you're bullied as a child, there is never an option for revenge that will "pay off". Your only option is to just ... become a well adjusted un-spiteful adult anyway. :/
@@francookie9353 The "revenge" is in the high probabilty that the bullies will one day feel the backlash all on their own. It’s insanity how they though thatd go well.
The whole Sir Patrick Stewart thing made me so upset. He's right, it's great that you introduced him but as a host, you should be respectful to everyone who's getting an award. Why did you agree to host if you were going to look like you didn't give af? It's rude, actions can be rude, just like words can. He should've apologized to everyone, instead, he embarrassed himself.
It came out that James had already been rude to the staff in front of Stewart and that’s what really started the argument. He didn’t write that introduction.
Never forget this anecdote: Half an hour into a New York to London flight, passengers in business class noticed a woman with a crying baby being brought through the curtains by a flight attendant. They looked on in mild horror as they saw the attendant direct her into an empty seat next to... James Corden. Expecting a huge celebrity hissy fit to kick off. Corden's cabin- mates were impressed to see that he didn't say a word or make any sort of complaint. He simply put on a pair of noise-cancelling headphones, pulled an eyemask over his eyes, and turned away from her to sleep. Pretty decent of him, right? When the plane landed though, passengers were surprised to see Corden remain seated as the woman with the baby struggled to open the overhead locker. And even more surprised when she turned to Corden and said "For fuck's sake can you at least hold the baby while I get the bags down?" The woman was his wife. The baby was his baby.

the way someone treats members of the service industry speaks volumes about their character. That's years of entitlement, something so ingrained or inborn that you wouldn't sympathize or consider how hard it is to serve and that a lot of these people may not love what they are doing but still have to try their best with every person they meet
I think its good for everyone to have worked in the service industry so you know how it is for those hard working people. Even if its just and after school job.I did a few summer and weekend jobs during my school time in the service industry and its really a hard working job, gladly not all customers are karens en kens but those really can ruin your day. its not so hard to say thank you and being polite to someone serving you coffee of food. And even if you do have a complain its easier fixed if you bring it up in a polite way
I have zero respect for anybody who treats workers in the service industry like crap, especially those who claim to be current/former members of said industry. Just because you used to work retail doesn't give you carte blanche to treat retail workers like crap.
I no longer judge people by the colour of the skin, I instead judge them based on whether they find James Cordon funny or not Edit: Lets relax in the comments, I’m joking! I still judge people based on skin colour.
It is kind of amazing to me that so many people believed he was actually driving the car around distracted by over the top singing and carrying a car full of musicians worth millions. They don't actually drive and film in most tv or movies. Why would this be any different?
Fair point. It's all fake. But the whole point of that bit was that he was actually supposed driving. If they had've shown the trailer he was being hauled on as part of the joke then yeah it would have been fine. But they never did, so they may as well have been in a studio with a green screen. The public reaction to finding out he was just being towed around on a trailer kind of tells you that it was deceptive, otherwise nobody would've cared.
@@rokeYouuer Yep. I halfway agree with Corden. If people ACTUALLY watch multiple Carpool Karaoke vids, there's at least 1 or 2 shots where the car is in full view with him and the guest in it. The Jennifer Hudson one, for example, shows them pulling up to the Hollywood Walk of Fame and even a fast food place. The Usher one has the same walk of fame shot. The Cardi B one. I can go on, but I do think he shouldn't have said 95% of the vids. I think it's less than that, and he's probably not driving for the ENTIRETY of each vid. Just kind of amazing how extreme these sides are while both will say the other does no research. Anybody who actually watched those vids can see that there's almost always full shots of him driving the entire car. I can't stand Corden, but good grief I can't stand when people don't have a true reason not to like someone or to call someone else stupid.
@@gl3nnium It's a bit on TV. At what point should that indicate to anyone that he was actually driving. This is such an absurd line of thinking. Seriously, when has Hollywood, TVs or movies ever been real? Newsflash it has never been. So no wonder some of it was in a trailer. Like he really could be dangering the lives of celebs during the shoot so I saw no issue. It still looks fun and entertaining
The issue with carpool karaoke is that it's INCREDIBLY cringe worthy. Seeing Corden with a stupid cheesy grin on his face, acting like he's the star of the segment, while the Americans whoop and cheer every little thing is too much for me to take.
Yeah that honestly makes sense, he's not just endangering his guests he's endangering the general public. I can't imagine what would happen if he fucked up some way while not paying attention cause he's singing or talking
I've watched Patrick Stewart all my life and I've never seen him act that way towards anyone. Not even people he's been known to have beef with. I truly believe James must have done or said something before they got on the mic. I just don't see Patrick suddenly going for James' throat for no reason.
For some people, there comes a point as one gets older where IDGAF kicks in, and you are much less afraid to voice your opinion. So while Corden's behavior obviously set Sir Patrick off, I also think he would have shown more discretion had it happened a few decades ago.

As someone unfortunatly born on August 22 on behalf of the 30,464 people born on that diabolical day each year, we deeply apologise for making the mistake of James Corden.
James' story is like a modern-day equivalent of the "Emperor has no clothes" fable. When CBS gave him his hosting gig, they acted like he was some sort of big star that everyone should already be familiar with, and everyone just shrugged their shoulders and went along with it. Now people are finally starting to ask themselves, "Wait, why the eff is this guy on TV anyway?" 🤣🤣
I can't stand him, and personally I was glad he went to the States (as it got him off British telly). However, he was everywhere in British TV & Media for a few years and only got more prolific after Gavin & Stacey. Over here he was already disliked, but was also at the same time one of the biggest(/more prolific as I earlier said because to be big requires fandom) stars. It seems he went to the US, with the Late Late Show and managed to get his way into Hollywood and the American mainstream like he did the UK. And its all now crumbling apart (similarly to here, his brand kept rising but at the cost of more & more people disliking him until he jumped over the Atlantic). It couldn't happen to a more suited person, just a shame he got the chance to make millions. An arrogant cunt.
He was famous in the UK for his role in comedy show Gavin and Stacy. He wrote the show with Ruth Jones and played Gavin's best friend. He was also in Doctor Who during Matt Smith's era which is probably how he'd be best known to America but idk x
Sir Patrick Stuart really is such a kind and genuine person, and I have nothing but the nicest things to say about him; as I was lucky enough to spend an afternoon with him a few years ago. Quote: “'He' [James] was simply reading an autocue…”

My mum used to work for Virgin Atlantic in the airport lounge, and this video seems to line up with the way she described him. One time James Corden came in for a comedy sketch by pretending to be wait staff for a day. As soon as the cameras were off, his demeanor did a complete 180, started complaining about everything, treating staff like shit (bearing in mind this all took place during a normal workday). Felt so bad for the staff and they had to deal with his bs on top of other wealthy passengers' crap.
I hate James Corden, but I don't think there should have been such a huge problem with towing the carpool karaoke, I mean it really would be alot less responsible to drive around busy streets in a highly camera rigged vehicle which impedes vision while trying to be as entertaining and overtop as possible for TV.
You can tell a lot about a person by the way they treat the help. I think Muhammad Ali said - “I don’t trust anyone who’s nice to me but rude to the waiter. Because they would treat me the same way if I were in that position.” Says it all about Corden.

My favorite part of the whole "Cats" situation was that he had the nerve to go on stage at the freaking Oscars presenting the VFX category and blaming the VFX artists for how horrible the movie was. Imagine thousand of people complying to your art direction requests, only to be thrown under the bus one of the very few moments where they are celebrated..
honestly VFX has been carrying hollywood, they should strike for a season and see how many projects are halted and how barren they look.

This - I would not want to inflict that on somebody else.
Sadly some people use their horrible experiences to justify their bad behavior towards others.
Not James.
Reminds me of Amy Schumer, she's just not funny and feels very forced.
@Squant - I'm from the UK. His popularity here is a niche group. It was the same here as well. He was suddenly plastered bloody everywhere.
Completely agree that he seemed forced on us.
@Squant Bro stop

I suspect there was something going on behind the scenes that eventually exploded on screen.
i don't even think stewart was being that rude, it's not an unreasonable request to make and stewart is an older guy who probably has more traditional expectations of decorum. i think corden was in the wrong for escalating it instead of just saying he was sorry if he'd offended stewart and he wouldn't do it again.
This guy proves that literally anyone, regardless of lack of talent, can become a celebrity.
True most of the hosts i like, know all the staff camera people and all
That’s probably pretty common among talk show hosts. Why would they take the time to get to know their overworked and underpaid staff? The film crew are just a bunch of replaceable pee ons.

Kinda like Gates after he got pied.
Which is kind of terrible, if you think about it.

Yeah, Hosts should have the skill set to be flexible with their responses and lighten the mood rather than ruin it.
It came out that James had already been rude to the staff in front of Stewart and that’s what really started the argument. He didn’t write that introduction.

Never forget this anecdote:
Half an hour into a New York
to London flight, passengers in
business class noticed a woman
with a crying baby being brought
through the curtains by a flight
attendant. They looked on in mild
horror as they saw the attendant
direct her into an empty seat
next to... James Corden.
Expecting a huge celebrity hissy
fit to kick off. Corden's cabin-
mates were impressed to see that
he didn't say a word or make any
sort of complaint. He simply put
on a pair of noise-cancelling
headphones, pulled an eyemask
over his eyes, and turned away
from her to sleep. Pretty decent of him, right?
When the plane landed though,
passengers were surprised to
see Corden remain seated as the
woman with the baby struggled
to open the overhead locker.
And even more surprised when
she turned to Corden and said
"For fuck's sake can you at
least hold the baby while I
get the bags down?"
The woman was his wife.
The baby was his baby.

the way someone treats members of the service industry speaks volumes about their character. Just like Ellen
Real actors and real comedians don't treat everyone else like shit!
It is kind of amazing to me that so many people believed he was actually driving the car around distracted by over the top singing and carrying a car full of musicians worth millions. They don't actually drive and film in most tv or movies. Why would this be any different?
People are so gullible. Its insane. I'd actually be supprised if I heard he was really driving.
Did you watch the video all the way through? Corden claims he's actually driving for most of those, with only a handful being towed.
I honestly don’t see the issue with the carpool karaoke being fake because he has a point. He’s interviewing while driving with the LA traffic as well as singing. So no wonder some of it was in a trailer. Like he really could be dangering the lives of celebs during the shoot so I saw no issue. It still looks fun and entertaining
Who gives a fuck about the celebs? They _agreed_ to it. Fuck him for endangering other people on the road who didn't get a choice.
Don’t be ridiculous, how different is that from lipsynching
The issue with carpool karaoke is that it's INCREDIBLY cringe worthy.
Seeing Corden with a stupid cheesy grin on his face, acting like he's the star of the segment, while the Americans whoop and cheer every little thing is too much for me to take.
also i think people believe you can strap a camera into the hood of the car and film yourself while driving.

So true. That sort of stunt maybe worked back in the day but now everyone can check in two seconds.
I asked that question right away. I was like, "who the hell is this guy?" Usually I see them in stand-up or something. Him? What?

My mum used to work for Virgin Atlantic in the airport lounge, and this video seems to line up with the way she described him. One time James Corden came in for a comedy sketch by pretending to be wait staff for a day.
