I've had two of them for a couple of years and have been very happy with them. I really appreciate being able to set the temp digitally rather than with a vague analog dial. And the temperature displayed is quite accurate--I spot check it from time to time with a high quality Thermapen kitchen thermometer. My only complaint is that, after a water change, if the water temp drops a bit, it takes MUCH longer than with other heaters to bring it up to temp. Two of them behave this way, so I assume it's in the design and it's not a defective unit. I've never understood why so many reviewers complain about the "low flow" indication. I actually appreciate it and think it's a great feature. It helps you get the best placement. Other heaters don't give you this information so when people get it on this one they think it's a bad design. I'm sure if your Eheim or Aqueon heater could tell you that it needed better flow, it would!
When you first posted this video, I posted a comment about how happy I had been with the two of these that I had. Since then, though, they have both failed in the same exact fashion; i.e., I could no longer adjust the temperature downward--it would only adjust upward. When the first one did this, I took it as a fluke and just threw it out. I would have still recommended this heater to anyone who had asked. But now that the second one has done this, I have to think it's a design defect that just takes a long time to show up. I won't buy another one and won't recommend them. EDIT: Scrolling through the other comments after I posted this, I see at least three other postings complaining of exactly the same failure! Fluval needs to recognize this problem and fix it.
Hi Jim, we're sorry to hear about this. Fluval E Series heaters are equipped with 5 year warranties, so if you have trouble with them within that time frame please contact our customer support team: fluvalaquatics.com/ca/contact-us/
Well, so much for my warranty claim. I submitted it on the Fluval web site using the form provided. I got a reply asking me to send a picture of the label on the back of the heater, which I did ten days ago. But then I've heard nothing further. I sent a follow-up e-mail, but no response. So I still love Fluval filters, but I don't think much of their heaters--or their customer service--at this point!
Thanks for the link. FYI I took the heater to the shop I’d bought it from and thankfully as they know me as a regular customer they’re going to properly examine it, their initial check confirms it doesn’t operate as it should. I’ll give you an update when I have it.
Found this video for troubleshooting my heaters as they will not lower the temperature set point any longer, which isn’t good obviously. They have been great for 2 years or so now. Very good for keeping temps accurate without much sway.
Hi there, we are sorry to hear that you are having some trouble with your heater. Should you need more assistance, please email our customer service team at customer.service@rchagen.com! 😊👍
@@fluvalCan i fully submerge it? The manual diagram says not to fully submerge it and leave the top red knob outside of water... Which is the right way?
Fluval make some superb products,I have many of them but these heaters are so temperamental,I’ve have several as I thought it was just bad luck but gave up on them in the end.
I've had an E100 in a 23g tank for a week now, and the display was ALWAYS blue--it's set to 77F but always reads 74.5F. I finally added a second heater I had lying around (a 75w) and that finally got the temp up to 77.
Have an E300 heater on a 50 gal and would not recommend this heater. My room is cool, 65 degrees, but it cannot heat the tank beyond 72 degrees. The E300 says it is for 100gal, twice the size as my tank so based on everything I've read, 300w should be enough to heat 50gal by 13 degrees F. I would return this item, but I waited too long to setup my tank and I'm outside of the return window.

Hi! I just purchased a Fluval e300 series for my 55gal. I am wondering if I possibly bought a faulty product or I'm just not being patient enough. I put the heater in my tank for about 23min so it could acclimate before turning the heater on per directions. It has now been in my aquarium for 2hrs and is still stuck at 69.5°F. It is still flashing blue & 69.5° . I have it set on 80°F. I have it 4inches to the left of my Fluval 110 Filter. I have unplugged it and waited 1 minute before turning it back on again in hope's of it resetting, but no luck. Can you please help?
I had two of these seemed good at first but then I started getting an electric current feeding from them when I test it was only when it was fully submerged When it was just above the min water level mark it was fine no charge as soon as submerged though the voltage re appeared (yes I found this out by getting an electric shock when I was changing a filter ) Fluval could not have cared less when I asked for help Please be careful with these heaters the do fail there not water as water tight as they should be
Hello thank you very much for this nice explanation. I am using this heater now two years it is top. I have a question please about the conspusption of electricity. When the heater show green color on the led .does still the heater in this case consumes electricity?? Thanks
Hello, thank you for your question! Yes it does although the electricity consumption is significantly reduced. The consumer during this period would be to light the LED and visual display on the unit. 😊
@@fluval good Morning Thank for your reply I follow your advise and kept the heaters on the way of water flow is top hater i am now having most if the time green light , you mentioned previously that the heater consume electricity even when is green light can you tell me please approximately how many watts that this led light consume ? I have two E300 heaters, and while they are rich in features, they have what appears to be a great quality of life asset...the heater rocker adjustment at the top...that turns into an unusable feature, over time. I replaced one with my local pet store, without issue. Now I have one that's 4 months old and another that's 6 months old and both rockers are defective; they either don't adjust the temperature up or down, or it's a very frustrating fight to gain or drop .5 or a degree. I have thoroughly cleaned both, so that's not the issue. I'll be calling the pet store again to see if there's an equivalent option from another manufacturer. I won't be buying anymore of these; it's clearly a design flaw that requires re-engineering.
i have the E100 and i also have this same problem when trying to raise or lower the temperature .5 @fluval a response to this would be greatly appreciated.
For some reason, I am only able to increase the temp but not decrease it. Is this a physical malfunction in the switch or is there an electronic way to reset it?
Hi Kelly, it's possible the unit has malfunctioned. Please contact our customer support team about this matter, they'll be happy to help you: fluvalaquatics.com/us/contact-us/
I have the e300, great heater but the temperature reader is innacurate. It stays at 77 but actually heats the water to about 79. The tank is 125 gallons
I had two of these in a 100-gallon aquarium aquarium and could not get the water temperature above 77 degrees no matter how high I set it. Also, each heater showed a three-degree difference only 18 inches apart.
How about actual operation like the video title says? What’s the red switch? How do you switch back to Fahrenheit after it switches to Celsius while trying to change temps.
As per the video the red switch is used to increase or decrease the temperature setting. For all information on this heater you may conveniently use this link: fluvalaquatics.com/manuals/Fluval_A771-A772-A773-A774-E-Heater_Manual.pdf
I have this weird anomaly with mine. When I turn it off to do a water change, I turn it back on and it'll read low (blue) and stay there. Weird thing is I have a smart meter display so I know it's not stuck on heating constantly as when my display reads under three hundred watts I know the heater isn't on. The work around every time is to switch it back off for a few seconds and back on. It then goes to green and reads the correct temperature. I know this as I have an electric thermometer gun and a temp strip on the tank. Take today after water changing I put the heater back on and it read 25 degrees Celsius. Left it for three hours and it was still blue reading 25 degrees on the display. Checked my smart meter and nope it wasn't constantly heating and everything else read 26 degrees (where I've got it set to.) Turned it off for 20 seconds then back on and it reads the correct 26 degrees. Other than this weird anomaly it works fine. I've never had a LF reading or blue/red other than it reading low after initial turn on after it's been off. Anyone else get this? It's situated perfectly so nothing to do with placement. As I say once I turn it back on a second time it works perfectly.
I have an E300 on both a 50 and 55 gallon. They struggle to keep up. Instructions say to install it at 45 degrees--but it looks like crap. Both tanks have Fluval 305 and 306 canister filters on them and an air stone directly below heater. Flow should not be a problem.
Had mine a few years having some issues now probably time to replace. (Spare in tank at moment) . Took apart and can't for the life of me work out how I got the back bracket on😂
Just bought fluval e100. Ive been using an old spare showing correctly my tank is 27degrees (I have a separate digital thermometer to confirm this) The fluval shows a flashing red 36 degrees. All attempts to reduce it using the set lever make no difference. I can’t take it back to the shop as I’ve lost the receipt
Great video, I have the E300 and I am happy with it, I have two questions though: 1- Is there any indication when the heater is actually warming up the water. There was small red light in my older heaters that shows when the heater is actually working. 2- After my last water change, the heater shows 23.5c in blue color, the heater is set to 25C by default (which I am using) but two hours past and the temperature still shows the same. Does it take long time to heat up? My home temperature is 23.5C.
Hi Pascal! Great questions. 1. When the screen is blue, indicating that the water temperature is lower than the set temperature, the heater is heating. There is no additional status light indicator of any kind. 2. It can sometimes take a little while for the water to heat back up. If you're concerned the heater isn't working properly, please contact our customer support team for assitance: fluvalaquatics.com/us/contact-us/
Hi Fluval. Apologies if this has already been answered but couldn't find it in the comments. My question is as follows: how do you know if it is actually heating? Temp is set for 25°C, but sometimes it shows blue at 24°C and doesn't appear to change unless I turn it off and on etc. Can be left 8hrs like this, but doesn't seem to be heating? Also, sometimes it is green at 24.5°C, but takes a long time if at all to change... is it heating now to get the temp up to 25, or is it happy sitting .5°c lower than set temp and will only heat when blue. I feel a small heating indicator light to show heating is happening would be a great addition to allow you to see if it is working or not. Thanks.
Hi there, great question! During normal operation, when the water temperature is within +/- 1°C of the set temperature, the backlight of the LCD screen will be green. If the water temperature exceeds the set temperature by 1°C, the LCD’s backlight will turn red. If the water temperature is lower than the set temperature by more than 1°C, the LCD’s backlight will turn blue. E Series heaters don't feature heating indicator lights: instead, the color of the LCD screen can be used to determine the heater's current status.
Get an "killawatt meter" and use it to see if your heater is drawing power. Even better, get a battery backup that shows power consumption so your heater (and your pumps) are powered for the first 30 mins of a power outage. My heater (E100) is plugged into an APC backups which displays power draw, you can clearly see the heater come one and off.
Is the 300w one strong enough to keep a 75 gallon around 78 degrees or do I need two of them ? Installed yesterday and this morning it got it to 74 only
Great question! A single E300 heater should do the trick for a 75 gallon tank, but it really depends on the ambient temperature of the room. If the difference between the water and room temperatures is quite high, additional heating power may be necessary. Please note that it can take up to 24 hours for the heater to bring the water to the set temperature!
Hi, Is it safe for a portion of the power cord (less than an inch) and adjustor toggle able to be submerged? I know the box says fully submersible but on the instructions it shows the top being out of the water. Due to the nature of the turtle tank setup, the water isn't high enough to reach the min water line unless on an angle which makes top slightly covered. Thanks!
Good Morning. Thanks à lot for the review. I have an issue after 3 month I always has a problem with the red plastic on top it is always stuck and cam no more adjest the heater +/- Do I need to clean it or what is the tips to make it works .thanks
Thanks for the question, hold the lever to the left for at least 5 seconds, here is the link to the instruction manual, it is covered within: fluvalaquatics.com/manuals/Fluval_A771-A772-A773-A774-E-Heater_Manual.pdf
Hi, I just purchased a e200 for my 20 gal tank and it can't seem to heat the tank to 78 which my only 50 watt jager would. any ideas? it's sitting right next to my sponge filter and has been on for 3 days.
Hi there! E Series heaters require strong water movement across the heating element - your sponge filter is likely not providing enough flow. Try positioning the heater in the path of a circulation pump!
Hi I was wondering is there a way of adjusting the brightness of the LED display as at night when my main tank lights are off the display is really bright
Hi Kevin, there is no light adjustment, you are the first to bring this up, perhaps consider placing a towel over the front of the aquarium if you find it disturbing at night.
Awesome video! I’ve just bought one of these from a friend and after watching your awesome informative video I’ve learned a LOT! I just have 2 questions if anyone can help me please, firstly are these heaters fully submersible? Also,I’ve tried to adjust the temperature but for some reason i move the stick left and it goes to 26,I move it right and it goes straight to 30,no inbetween and also 26 is flashing blue but 30 is green which makes no sense at all :( Can someone please kindly help explain what I’d going on with my heater please,I have a 58 litre tank and are using the E50. TIA
It is a fully submergible heater. Try a short quick movement to either side to increase or decrease in .5 degree increments. Set temperature will dictate screen color as will warning variation settings for flashing alert. Please visit fluvalaquatics.com to download the user manual.
What does the EE display mean? I've had the heater for 6 months and all of the sudden it is displaying a red "EE" and my water has dropped to a dangerously low temperature

ive never had one of these, I have looked at several youtube tutorials, and find the instructions confusing. I am now an expert on opening it up and how to move it around the tank, and moving the bracket. I just want to know how to turn it up and down. I set mine up and it went to 25, then a few hours later it was 23 which I was worried about as I didnt want my fish to die. I live in UK, we dont get many days where its hotter than our aquarium especially in winter!! its now blue and on 26 which I prefer than 23. Shouldnt it be green, Im worried it will go over 28 tonight
Hi my heater is set at 29 it goes green when its 29 but sometimes it will turn blue and still be 29 it doesnt flash blue will it still heat up when its bluex
E Series heaters can be positioned vertically, diagonally or horizontally in the aquarium, as long as they're fully submerged and in the path of strong water movement! 👌
Last night, I placed a Fluval Series E100 in a 29 gallon aquarium. The heater was between two hob filters. The temperature was set to 76.5. At first, the heater was working fine, however, after about an hour and a half, it began showing the low flow indication quite frequently. During this time, the temperature had reached 77 and was staying around 76.5-77. Then, after a few minutes, the light turned red and it showed 79. It then went to 78. At that point, I unhooked the power and after a few minutes I removed the heater and placed the original back in. It was getting late and it would have been too risky to leave the heater in. Placing the heater directly in the flow of the hob filters is not really possible. Is there anyway in this situation to ensure the low flow problem ends and that it does not start registering unusual leaps of temperature? The heater just arrived yesterday. The heater was in a vertical position, as the manual seemed to recommend that. It was completely submerged, though the temperature display was fairly close to the surface.
Hi there! Try positioning the heater more directly in the path of moving water, or purchase a small circulation pump and position it to blow across the heater to help with heat distribution in the aquarium. Hi there ,great presentation! Did answer on my few questions, but still there is one remains - I do have a 250L tank and I need temperature of 25 degrees to be , what temperature is should set-up? If I will setup for 25 degrees ,is my tank would be 25 degrees ? Or I need to bring up temperature on the heater higher ? The themometr shows that is 25 degrees and display on green light ,but I also using a normal Themometr and shows that is only 21 degrees in the tank.. which make me confuse a little bit ,could help me solve this problem please ? As it's really important to my terrapins that the temperature in the tank stays at 25 degrees I do also running another heater ,but don't know if there is a need of ,I wonder if the Fluval will be enough it selfs to heat up the desired temperature, Thank you
The E Heater comes with a default factory set temperature of 25 deg C. Some mass produced thermometers can be a couple of degrees off, you should check with another one, preferably digital with a fresh battery. It is also important to respect ambient temperature/aquarium volume limitations when choosing your heater in terms of power, 3 watts per gallon as a general rule. You may review the supplied instruction manual using this link: fluvalaquatics.com/manuals/Fluval_A771-A772-A773-A774-E-Heater_Manual.pdf
@@fluval thank you for the link ,I bought the biggest one which is E300 and the manual says it's up to 350L * mine only had a 250L ,which I thought would be enough to cover the whole surface of the water in my tank. Thank you I will check the temperature with digital thermometer .
Hi there! E Series heaters require strong water movement across the heating element to function correctly. Try repositioning the heater to be more directly in the path of the water flow!
@@fluval Thank you very much in advance. Yes, as I said before, even with the FX6's duckbill, I had to point it directly at the heater. Now, with the new Spray Bar, I think that the water circulation is more uniform throughout the aquarium, and from what I see (both on the plants and when I add food) there is greater agitation. I don't accept being told that I don't have enough flow to the heater. I have an FX6 for a 320 liter aquarium (plus 30 liters of filter will give about 350 liters) One of the two, either this heater is no good, or it has a defect and if so, it needs to be replaced. Ah... I've been an aquarist for over 30 years and this has never happened to me.
My Fluval E100 heater display is not showing anything nor heats the aquarium. I didn't read the maintenance requirement in the manual, causing mineral deposits to accumulated on the housing that contains the heating element. The deposits have now been removed but I suspect it caused damage to the heating system. Is it salvageable?
I have a 75 gallons tank with a Fluval 407 with a spray bar installed. From time to time I get the LF notification. I have installed the heater next to the intake, but I still have the issue. What can I do?
Hi there! Try positioning the heater closer to the spray bar, as much in the flow as posible. You can also consider purchasing a small circulation pump and positioning it to move water across the body of the heater!
I’ve had the e100 for years. I recently unplugged it to clean it. I followed directions in letting it sit before removing, the cleaning instructions, and letting it sit in the aquarium for 20 min before plugging it back in. Now, it will only display 25°C. I tried to use the set directions to change the set temp, and also tried pressing the lever to the left for a 5 count to change it to Fahrenheit. It won’t change to Fahrenheit, and I also cannot get the temp to flash to change the set temp. Not sure if the lever switch has just gotten really old or what. Any suggestions?
Ok I just installed the E100 in my fish tank. Everything seems to be working fine at this point. The question I have is the length of this heater makes me install it so that the bottom of the cage is touching my substrate. I know what the directions say about not touching the substrate but is that for the tube or is the cage acceptable? I don't want to ruin it but if I raise it up then I have concerns about the minimum water level. Ideas?
Hi Dennis, there won't be any issues if the cage of the heater touches the substrate slightly. You can also rotate the heater slightly so it fits in your aquarium more easily!
I've got a 300w heater and it's connected to a inkbrid temp controller, the heater is not going upto 26c so the temperature controller is reading below my temp set , it's been going 24 hours and still.noy reached the right temp outflow from 407 is directed onto.side of heater so no water flow problems , ive an open top tank so should I cover it or raise the temp? Thanks
Hi Lee, what's the ambient temperature of the room? An appropriately-sized E series heater will generally heat the aquarium 6 deg. C / 10 deg. F above room temperature. Covering the tank will certainly help maintain the right temperature!
Just got one of the 100w heaters in a 75lt tank and set it to 80f and heater cannot get tank upto the right temp, stays on 77f and drops to 75f but it cannot get above 77f in my 75ltr tank ?
Hi there, we're sorry to hear about this. As E Series heaters are housed in protective casings, it's important to ensure they are subjected to strong water movement. Ambient room temperature is also a factor: if the difference between it and the heater's set temperature is more than 10°F / 6°C, additional heating capacity is likely necessary. An heater will only heat between 6 and I think 10 degrees warmer than room temperature depending on wattage. In a cool unheated room you probably need two.
How do I know if the heater is working? It is just sitting at 71 and blue. I tried to set it to 76 is that a good temperature? I have a 35g tank and a Fluval E200 heater My tank is a community with guppies a catfish a pleco and a Siamese fighting fish.

I have a problem with the temperature lever when I move it to adjust the temperature it seems it is not working because I turn it to the - or the + sign but the temperature degree does not change as if this red lever is bugs so please advise how to solve this issue
If my ambient room temperature is 67 degrees, and I set the heater to say 82 degrees... will my water temperature ever get to 82? Seems it won’t go past 77 with this heater. I have a 300w.
Hi Tom, ambient room temperature will definitely contribute to the temperature of the water within your aquarium. Generally, the E-series heaters will increase water temperature up to 10 degrees Fahrenheit above the room temperature which is what seems to be happening in this case. To achieve a temperature of 82 degrees you may need to add a second heater into your setup or increase the room temperature slightly.
@@fluval Well, my old 300W Marineland can keep the tank at 80 or 81 without a problem. Was hoping your heater would be better. I guess I'll just stay impressed with your canisters and LED's for now...
We recommend Fluval M Heaters for use in Flex tanks when placing them in the pump chamber, due to flow considerations and ease of fit. Yes, the 100W E series will fit in the 15g Flex aquarium.

Slowly increase the temperature back to where it should be by doing small water changes over an 8 hour span, that should avoid shocking your fish. Install another heater and investigate the heater failure.
Hi Antonio! To change the degree scale, hold the set lever in the full left (-) position for at least 5 seconds. When the new degree scale is displayed, you may release the lever. After a few seconds, the display will automatically return to display the water temperature.

25C is the current temperature of the water. It's red because it's high compared to the temperature you have set the heater at (22.5C). You need to let the water temperature cool down to 22.5C, either naturally or with water changes. It is an Aquarium heater after all, and not a cooler...
@@fluval well I put the heater in tap water that is 100% colder than the 27.5 degrees C reading that's its giving me. It's just flashes red what ever I do

@@fluval tbh considering it never read the right temp to begin with, the constant LF error out of noway.. its been the worse fluval product i've owned, (everything is fluval) think i'll guess its broke and get a different one from a different brand.
Hi Christy, as per the product manual this notice implies that the waters temperature is hotter than what the heater is set to. This can happen for multiple reasons, the most common being that the aquarium light or other equipment is causing a slight elevation in temperature. Our best advice would be to reset the heater by unplugging it and letting it rest outside of the tank for 40 minutes. While you do that, remove your aquarium hood to allow some excess heat to escape. After the 40 minutes, reinstall the heater to see if the notice reappears. if you run into any trouble with this, please contact our customer service team for further assistance. 😊👇 fluvalaquatics.com/us/contact-us/
Why can’t I increase the temperature on my fluval E50. I have had it running since November 2019 now it won’t increase above 23 degrees centigrade. I have had the temperature up at 29 as I was having a problem with ich but now it won’t go above 23 🤔
Hi there! The LF error code means Low Flow - the heater has detected poor water circulation around it. Try positioning the heater so it receives strong, direct water movement from the filter. 👍

Good Day . I hope you are fine . Please I need your help I am using fluval heater in all my aquariums now I have one heater which I set to 25 C since two days but keep flashing red green I want to collaborate it how can I do that.? Thanks a lot Have a nice day .
@@fluval hello yes I saw it does fluval heater need collaboration or no. Because mine is red since two days I set it to 25 but it showing 26.5 and 27c It is 300 w and I am putting it in 125 L Thanks
Fluval E Series heaters are equipped with 5 year warranties, so if you have trouble with them within that time frame please contact our customer support team: fluvalaquatics.com/ca/contact-us/
@@fluval Thanks for pointing out the warranty period. I have taken your suggestion and submitted a warranty claim.
Love these heaters. I have them on all 3 tanks. Thanks for making a great product!
So how do you change the heater from Celsius to Fahrenheit
@@dtanr2627
I had to go to Canada and get a Celsius heater. Drove 5 hours total there and back
Thanks for the link.

Hi Scott, did you try re-positioning the E heater in the path of the filter out flow?
I’ve got the exact same problem and it’s not flow related! Beginning to think it is too smart to be reliable!
I have the E200 for my 29 gallon, It has been perfect for 14 months now!! Not 1 problem with it
Thanks Ed, we're so happy to hear that! 😊

Really love the Fluval filters and bug bites food!
Same problem
Similar problem here too.
I had two of these seemed good at first but then I started getting an electric current feeding from them when I test it was only when it was fully submerged
When it was just above the min water level mark it was fine no charge as soon as submerged though the voltage re appeared (yes I found this out by getting an electric shock when I was changing a filter )
Fluval could not have cared less when I asked for help
Please be careful with these heaters the do fail there not water as water tight as they should be
I’ve heard this a lot from other users. Can this have an effect on this fish too?

The tank is 125 gallons
same size tank, same problem.
Is it necessary to unplug the heater when I do a water change or does the heater know to turn off on its own, when the water level is too low for it?
It's always recommended to unplug all electrical items, including the heater, before beginning a water change!
I’m getting me self one of these nice heater 👍
Thanks man 🎉
I have this weird anomaly with mine.
Fluval should ditch their operation manual and just have a QR-Code for this video. Thanks.
I have an E300 on both a 50 and 55 gallon. They struggle to keep up. Instructions say to install it at 45 degrees--but it looks like crap. Both tanks have Fluval 305 and 306 canister filters on them and an air stone directly below heater. Flow should not be a problem.
Glen, did you try placing the heater such that the flow is directed at the side of the heater cage?
@@fluval Yes, it does not seem to make a difference.

Only heater I trust and use.
Great video, I have the E300 and I am happy with it, I have two questions though:
1- Is there any indication when the heater is actually warming up the water.
Hi,
Is it safe for a portion of the power cord (less than an inch) and adjustor toggle able to be submerged?
I know the box says fully submersible but on the instructions it shows the top being out of the water.
Due to the nature of the turtle tank setup, the water isn't high enough to reach the min water line unless on an angle which makes top slightly covered.
Thanks!
Never mind, haha.
After re-reading I noticed it says no depths beyond 39inches/100cm, so basically almost x4 it length.
Good Morning.
Thanks à lot for the review.

Fluval Aquatics tbh I was more worried about algae build up in the tank and fish not getting a proper sleep cycle

Hi my heater is set at 29 it goes green when its 29 but sometimes it will turn blue and still be 29 it doesnt flash blue will it still heat up when its bluex
Hi there! The heater is simply turning itself on and off to regulate the water temperature. 👍
Can you place these heaters diagonally in the water or does it have to be straight? What happens if I place it horizontal and fully submerged?
Hi.
I upgrade my FX6 with a Spray Bar FX, and my E300, don't heated the water. Why?
The spray bar are upper to E300.
I have an FX6 for a 320 liter aquarium (plus 30 liters of filter will give about 350 liters)
One of the two, either this heater is no good, or it has a defect and if so, it needs to be replaced.
Is it salvageable?

what is the adjustable temperature range?
Hello! The minimum temperature is 68°F / 20°C, and the maximum temperature is 93°F / 34°C.
@Fluval Aquatics thanks so much

Hi Lee, what's the ambient temperature of the room? An appropriately-sized E series heater will generally heat the aquarium 6 deg. C / 10 deg. F above room temperature. Covering the tank will certainly help maintain the right temperature!
Ok thanks I'm also running 2, 407 canisters on it , what the best position for the inlets/outlets, I have them both at each end of aquarium at moment

I’ve only owned one of these so I could just have a bad one but it seems to have a mind of its own randomly stops heating for no apparent reason and shows no error codes whatsoever I’ll give up on it shame though as I love all of your products I run your filters exclusively and I have four of your aquariums just haven’t got on with this particular product very well
Hi Nathan, we're sorry to hear about this. Please contact our customer support team if you'd like assistance with your heater: fluvalaquatics.com/us/contact-us/
Thank you but I’ve had it for quite some time it went wrong pretty much straight away but I just didn’t get round to returning it so I’m well outside of my warrantee so I doubt there’s a lot they can do to be honest that’s not waste of time but again thank you very much for the advice and it’s nice to know there is someone listening not that I would expect anything less
Hello if I'll put the heater in return pump section and if my water level will drop there, heater will shut down? Thank u
The E series does have a safety shut off. That said you should never allow that much evaporation without top off and partial water changes.
Hi, I have one of these heaters and when I turn it on in water the display reads 15°C and the blue light flashes on and off. Any idea what may be causing this? Thanks
Hi Toby, that doesn't sound right! Please contact our customer support team via our website about this, they'll be happy to help you out. 👍
I have the fluval edge 46l with the 50w E heater. I can't get it to go above 25 degrees? The only time it goes above 25 is when it has gone up through the room being warmer and it flashes red. Can it not be increased beyond 25 degrees ? 🧐🙏
Absolutely. If it is flashing red that indicates that the water temp has risen above the set temperature.
An heater will only heat between 6 and I think 10 degrees warmer than room temperature depending on wattage. In a cool unheated room you probably need two.
Can you do this for the m series please?
We certainly can!
How do I know if the heater is working?
It is just sitting at 71 and blue. I tried to set it to 76 is that a good temperature?
I have a 35g tank and a Fluval E200 heater
My tank is a community with guppies a catfish a pleco and a Siamese fighting fish.
If you have set it at 76 you should see it achieve that temperature.
Ok ty
If I have a densely planted tank, will it get mad about water flow issues?
Hi there! Due to their protective caging, E Series heaters require strong water flow across the heater body. If you think that might be an issue in your aquarium, check out our fully electronic T Series heaters instead: fluvalaquatics.com/us/t-series/
Thanks. I was thinking that might be the best option just due to plant density.
I've had the E300 for a year and it shows low flow unless my canister filters output is pointer right at. What gives?
Hi Paul, we are sorry to hear that you are having some trouble with your heater. Please reach out to our customer service team who will be glad to assist you with this! fluvalaquatics.com/us/contact-us/
I broke the plastic that's protecting the heater. How do I get a new Replacement shell because I don’t see it on Amazon.ca
Please visit visit fluvalaquatics.com , select your country site and then the support tab, the Customer Support team will assist you.
Is it safe to put the heater halfway into the water or partially out of the water? I would like to install 3 E300 in my sump.
It should be submersed to the minimum water level mark on the heater.
what is the total length of the 50watt version? thank you (wanting to check it will fit for an enclosed fluvial 34 litre tank)
Please see the response above.
Are these ones better than the new t series heaters?
Good day
I hope you can help I am always uesing fluval E heater 300 watt . I have a problem with the temperature lever when I move it to adjust the temperature it seems it is not working because I turn it to the - or the + sign but the temperature degree does not change as if this red lever is bugs so please advise how to solve this issue
If the heater has been previously functioning normally and is still under warranty you should contact customer support by visiting fluvalaquatics.com
Thank you very much I already sent them an email.
Is a 100w going to fit nicely in a 15g Fluval Flex? AND if put in the pump or first chamber - is it going to work with flow?
We recommend Fluval M Heaters for use in Flex tanks when placing them in the pump chamber, due to flow considerations and ease of fit. Yes, the 100W E series will fit in the 15g Flex aquarium.
@@fluval Damnit - I just bought the E. What is with this low flow issue with these? Seems to be a problem with people.
@@fluval It should say this heater won't work with the Flex!
Um - it's working fine in the Flex in pump compartment. :) Cannot read the numbers though - just color. It's not yelling at me for 'low flow'. OK. :)
My heater is flashing at the 25ºc and do not go up to 27ºc what can be the problem?
thanks
Hello, we cover that in this video, you can also review the instruction manual where it is also covered, here is the link for your convenience: fluvalaquatics.com/manuals/Fluval_A771-A772-A773-A774-E-Heater_Manual.pdf
How would i no if my heater has stopped working, my temp dropped and has not gone back up to normal for about 24 hours
Slowly increase the temperature back to where it should be by doing small water changes over an 8 hour span, that should avoid shocking your fish. Install another heater and investigate the heater failure.
Hi, can you tell me how to change from F° to C°
Thanks
Hi Antonio! To change the degree scale, hold the set lever in the full left (-) position for at least 5 seconds. When the new degree scale is displayed, you may release the lever. After a few seconds, the display will automatically return to display the water temperature.
When I lower temperature to 22.5 it keeps changing to 25C again and it constantly displays red colour? Thank you.
Hello Aiste, thank you for your comment. We are sorry to hear that you are having some trouble. Please contact our customer service team who will be glad to assist you with this! 😊 fluvalaquatics.com/us/contact-us/
25C is the current temperature of the water. It's red because it's high compared to the temperature you have set the heater at (22.5C). You need to let the water temperature cool down to 22.5C, either naturally or with water changes. It is an Aquarium heater after all, and not a cooler...
I have a flashing EH on my water heater what do I do ( pro heat D-1500
Unplug the unit for a few minutes. It will reset.
I dont have a thermometer but I'm positive that the reading I'm getting off the heater is wrong
You should obtain an accurate thermometer to confirm.
@@fluval well I put the heater in tap water that is 100% colder than the 27.5 degrees C reading that's its giving me. It's just flashes red what ever I do
and what about if your screen gives no colour? i reset the heater and get coloured display on its self test, then the green goes out and the screen is lit like a normal LCD. no blue/green or red.
The heater does come with a warranty, please visit fluvalaquatics.com and select your country and then the support option.
@@fluval tbh considering it never read the right temp to begin with, the constant LF error out of noway.. its been the worse fluval product i've owned, (everything is fluval) think i'll guess its broke and get a different one from a different brand.
Why is my e200 heater have red EE?
Hi Christy, as per the product manual this notice implies that the waters temperature is hotter than what the heater is set to. This can happen for multiple reasons, the most common being that the aquarium light or other equipment is causing a slight elevation in temperature. Our best advice would be to reset the heater by unplugging it and letting it rest outside of the tank for 40 minutes. While you do that, remove your aquarium hood to allow some excess heat to escape. After the 40 minutes, reinstall the heater to see if the notice reappears. if you run into any trouble with this, please contact our customer service team for further assistance. 😊👇

Can this be used in a Laguna plastic turtle tub
Hi Claire, absolutely! With its protective cage, there's no worry of the heater making contact with the plastic and damaging it.
What is the screen is not showing any color but is showing a temp?
Please review the instruction manual for screens and significance: fluvalaquatics.com/manuals/Fluval_A771-A772-A773-A774-E-Heater_Manual.pdf
@@fluval thank you but I do not see anything about the scenario for no color showing. I will continue to research thanks.
Why can’t I increase the temperature on my fluval E50. I have had it running since November 2019 now it won’t increase above 23 degrees centigrade. I have had the temperature up at 29 as I was having a problem with ich but now it won’t go above 23 🤔
What are you using to check the temperature with? Which thermometer exactly are you using?
Fluval Aquatics I am using the fluval E50 in a fluval flex 50 ltr aquarium 🐠
Mine blinks red and won't stop heating?

can this heater be fully submerged?
Yes, E Series heaters are fully submersible! 👍
Please can you make a clear version instead of black 👍
HI what dose LF MEAN
Hi there! The LF error code means Low Flow - the heater has detected poor water circulation around it. Try positioning the heater so it receives strong, direct water movement from the filter. 👍
@@fluval oh okay I saw that on the video and didn’t give it much thought thanks mates appreciate you lot
So how do you change from c to f and reverse I want to show 27 not 70 something???
Please use this link for the supplied instruction manual, it is found within, you can download it here: fluvalaquatics.com/us/product/e200-advanced-electronic-heater-2/
@@fluval many thanks
Sometimes my heater is off a degree or 2°C, how do I recalibrate it ?
What are you comparing the reading on your heater against?
@@fluval a boiler thermometer and a pool thermometer. They both display 28°C, but the heater is at 30°C.
If I bring the temperature to 28°C, then the water goes down to 26°C.
Good Day .
