      The heater doesn't have flow issues, your tank does.

    Always appreciate the support man, even though I am not fully active right now. That 75 is looking good man!! Keep going and lets get you to your goal of 10k subs!!! And for anyone previewing the comments I found these don't work as well in sump setting because they run best when they are tilted at that 45 degree angel and then finding an area with good flow through the sump so it does not give you the low flow reading constantly. But like you said running it in a tank like yours without a sump is my favorite heater.

    I love my Fluval heater! I'm running an E200 on my 160L, and have a spare on hand, should anything go wrong with the one currently running. I agree, they definitely need to be placed correctly, in relation to the setup of your tank. I discovered that mine must be completely upright, so that water from the outlet of my filter flows past the heater. Having mine on a slight angle caused mine too read LF. Now it's upright, I don't have any issues.

    I ordered two of the 300 e series for my 150 gallon tank which I also run two FX6 filters along with two power heads. Flow is no issue. I have African cats, tetras, barbs, and sharks along with 4 panther crabs. So far so good. I should get the heaters soon. Right now I run two Aqueon 300 pro heaters. They seem to be alright. Any Aqueon heater below pro level is junk.

    The new eheim thermocontrol electronic heaters are absolutely the best heaters on the market hands down. Mine is accurate to 0.3°c all day every day. No lcd screens. No silly switches on top. No low flow problems. Plug it in. Turn it down to 20°c and set it to what you want. Red light comes on when its heating and green light when it's at temperature. Guy in fish store sells more of these than anything else. Dumped fluval as they constantly kept coming back to him with problems. And best of all the eheim was £10 cheaper.

    How do you think it compares to the Chinese ceramic 1000W+ heaters? They just shut off when the water gets too hot instead of cooking your fish and turning red telling you it is doing this (usually when you are away).

  • @mcdingus5081
    @mcdingus5081 2 роки тому

    I'm highly skeptical of the people that review this and say they have flow issues with this heater. The thing that makes this heater so good is it's safety features. That low flow alarm is happening for a reason. Most heaters don't have the sensor to do this, and I'm sure it's why many times they fail before they should. It also has a better sensor than a standard heater- so it's temp readings are more accurate than others. So when it runs into problems, it shuts down. To me that's better than cooking or electrocuting fish.
    As far as the price goes- I actually think it's priced very good considering how much better it is than a standard aquarium heater.

    I have a Fluval Flex 32.5 Gallon Aquarium and a Fluval E 100-Watt Electronic Heater (A772).
    I would like to know if it is safe to add a second Fluval E 100-Watt Heater in my aquarium. My idea is that the two heaters will share the work load of heating the water. I would also like to add the second heater as a backup heater, just in case something happens to one of the heaters and I am not at home, at the time.

    Hi. I'm running 3 of these. What I've found that if they do go blue or red I just unplug give it around 30 seconds plug in and it's back to normal. This has only happened twice in the 18 months that I have used them. Thank you. Just found another reason why I like these, it was showing red . Which come to find out my fx4 had stoped which meant it had no flow across it.

    • @kadalora
      @kadalora 9 місяців тому

      @@mrjc12 the general theory is if you have it upright then the heat will rise from the element and straight away hit the thermostat, potentially causing the heater to shut off prematurely; putting it on an angle prevents this. I always angle mine but others have mentioned straight up is fine, just ensure you have good flow

    I see so many complaints on sites like amazon with a lot of the more basic heaters, im willing to spend a bit more, i would probably feel different if i had an entire fish room. It seems like even the Eheim heaters have fallen a bit in quality, ive gone through 3 heaters in the past year, the last one i caught right when the glass cracked and got it out of the tank last night before it caused a shock hazard. The Cobalt Neo therms seem to have a very high failure rate now and they seem to fail in tank destroying ways which is very unfortunate since they are my favorite form factor. Right now i just have nano planted tanks and i really dont want to have to rely on running external heater controllers to make sure they wont cook my tanks. The only annoying thing is that the 50 watt model of the fluval heaters are unobtainable now, i had to buy one on Ebay from the UK. So ill see how it goes, the very accurate temp monitoring, multiple temp sensors, and self calibration of these Fluvals is a lot more confidence instilling. I hate having to second guess things and my heater thermostats being 5-10 degrees out of calibration. Thank goodness for GFCI outlets though, that saved me from a pretty bad shock on one of the failures. If i were running bigger canister filters i would go with an inline Hydor as i dont see many complaints about them, it just seems like at this point we should have smarter heaters that can be trusted to not be ticking time bombs, i cant believe Fluval is the only manufacturer making heaters like this.

    I had two of these seemed good at first but then I started getting an electric current feeding from them when I test it was only when it was fully submerged
    When it was just above the min water level mark it was fine no charge as soon as submerged though the voltage re appeared (yes I found this out by getting an electric shock when I was changing a filter )
    Fluval could not have cared less when I asked for help
    Please be careful with these heaters the do fail there not water as water tight as they should be

      I had this happen on a couple "dumb" heaters as well, im hoping i dont have problems with the Fluval i ordered, it seems like at this point we should have heaters that dont have such high failure rates. Even the trustworthy brands are pretty unreliable.

    • @CondoreComputing
      @CondoreComputing 4 роки тому

      I think the flow issue is a lot more to do with how sensitive they made the safety margin when it comes to heater element over temp, it means the heating elements should last a long time and there should be no cracking issues, but they deffinitly should have made a more free flowing shroud. They went on the side of caution when it comes to preventing catastrophic heater failure because so many other all in one heaters either get stuck on, or they overheat in the element section and stress crack the glass over time.
