This is exactly the case with eczema. I have been suffering my whole life. Doctors can't help all about this information right here. It has everything to do with a combination of these 2. I have scares all over because no one couldn't help me until I just gave up on eating bread one day and half my problems went away but still linger through my whole life. If a kid could avoid oxalates that would be a whole life difference.

Finally found the link between oxalate and histamine intolerance after suffering immeasurably for years. Started carnivore a month ago and have been dumping. I have ups and downs but feel so much better since cutting oxalate out of my diet. I was eating so many foods I thought were "healthy" and they were killing me.
This information is groundbreaking. I imagine so many people suffer from this.

I am so happy I found this video. Oh my gosh I found out I had a oxalate Toxicity in 2017 when I did an elimination diet for six months and been trying to fight ever since! I wasn’t strong enough to go through all the dumping that I went through in 2018. I was horrified at the pain that it was causing me..
Now 2023 changed my life to drinking only distilled water only no tapwater no bottled water just make my own distilled water.
I started detoxing oxalates big-time. Oh my gosh I couldn’t get out of bed for two days one time they attacked my knees to the point that I couldn’t even move. I’ll tell you what though I’m strong enough this time. I am determined to get these Oxalates out of my soft tissues and out of my joints once and for all. Thank you for making me realize why I’ve had histamine issues that I didn’t even know I had for years now! And trust me some of the foods I eat regularly were absolutely killing me and I didn’t know it. I just thought it was my fibromyalgia flaring. No it was that avocado dip that you ate at the Mexican restaurant or it was that keto chocolate fudge that you made or it was that sour cream cream cheese, fat bomb that you made. Bless you bless you bless you. Once I get rid of all these oxalates to the point that they need to be gone which could take years I know but I’ll be able to eat shrimp again I’ll be able to eat avocado again hello signed me up.

There is lots of hope. Please get Sally Norton’s book TOXIC SUPERFOODS that just came out. She spent three years writing it. It gives exact diets and amounts depending on what phase you are in, as to eating. It will guide you through the detox on a level that you can tolerate. I have studied untold hours, let alone doing the diet. Sally definitely knows what she is talking about. You can google and listen to some of her videos. I guarantee you, you are better off doing the program slowly and gettig health than suffering without the program. God bless!

@@JoanneKennedy do you have more information on "Citrate" products or Citrate/Citric Acid in supplements?
As I understand it: none of the "Citrate/Citric Acid" in the last 40 years or so comes from fruit... That it is "Manufactured Citric Acid/Manufactured Citrate" ...made by using a mold/fungal process via corn and corn byproducts and Black Mold (toxic and crcinogen) to produce it...
Citrate/Citric Acid has many uses ONE of which is to PREVENT MOLD in food products...
      My question is:
I have severe and fast onset reaction to Citrate/Citric Acid that lasts for several days to weeks depending on concentration even from a single exposure...skin and gut, etc in particular...
Is this likely to be a reaction to the lack of purity or black mold toxins in it? Or a reaction directly with the Citrate/Citric Acid itself? Or do I more likely have mold or some other fungus systemically that is producing toxins from the stress of the Citric Acid/Citrate or even the toxins from mold/fungal die off?
I can do freshly squeezed lemon juice ...but I have the same severe reaction and symptoms if it is combined with sugar/honey/fermented or cooked citrus at all.
      Any thoughts?

@@JoanneKennedy I have Achlorhydria...no idea what is the cause... Take Betaine HCL with pepsin...a whole bottle per meal just to get digestion to be effective at all...
Hope Oxalate removal will help... Have you had anyone use an Ayurvedic Herb called: Chanca Piedra? I am considering it...
Also read about someone using Parsley soup to eliminate Kidney "oxalate" stones .. something about it causing an increase in acidity of the urine assisting in the preventing of stone formation and expelling oxalates before they form in the kidney...but no idea if that helps other tissues in the body...
There are days or sometimes just parts of a day where a joint or two might feel like pain inside and then not again for who knows weeks or more sometimes so it seems that I am dumping here and there ...
I am gonna carnivore Lion Diet high fat...

Thank you for this thorough explanation!! This was truly helpful❤️ If you have a minute, I have a question: I don’t seem to have a reaction to coffee or even magnesium glycine, but I do have an immediate reaction to spices. I have been eating carnivore since February of this year, had many symptoms of oxalate dumping and clearing, and I feel great!
I also mix magnesium glycine with epsom salt and maybe the sulfur in epsom salt helps with glycine, and total magnesium is around 200 mg and not every day. Do you have a thought as to why my reaction to spices is so strong? I even have a reaction when I am around food with spices even if I am not eating them. The reaction is coughing sneezing and runny stuffy nose, all which seems to be a histamine response. Your thoughts are highly appreciated!

I have this SAME issue. I have since learned I have histamine intolerance, outside of just histamine issues with oxalates. I've been mostly carnivore for...3 ish years now, so I'm well done the oxalate dumping (that was rough) but the histamine intolerance persists. I am a bit more tolerant to some spices now, but it also depends where I am in my menstrual cycle (as my estrogen levels really effect histamine levels)

Super informative video. My only disagreement is relying on the oat. Its super immaculate with yeast and especially oxalates. It's very hit or miss and wouldn't diagnose anything based on those results.

    • @JoanneKennedy
      @JoanneKennedy  2 роки тому +10

Hello and thanks for your comment. I agree with you, you can't rely solely on OAT testing to diagnose oxalates and it can definitely give a false negative. I haven't however seen it give a false positive. Careful case taking including history (mould exposure, diet history pointing towards driving yeast - eg. excessive sugar fruit intake, plant-based diet, lack of digestive enzymes, glyphosate exposure, fat malabsorption issues, gallbladder issues, oestrogen detoxification issues at least) along with signs and symptoms of oxalate AND histamine can give you a clearer picture :)

This is really useful information, thank you. Even if it does send me further down a seemingly infinite rabbit hole with my health issues. Tests have shown I'm deficient in Magnesium, Folate, B3 and B6. I strongly suspect sibo, have histamine intolerance and am sensitive to oxlates. I seem to react to a lot of supplements with extreme fatigue and heaviness in my gut including with Magnesium and B3 which I'm deficient in. What could be the reason for that? They were found on a routine urine analysis, and I have no symptoms or pain of any kind, but I do consume very high levels of oxalates due to my plant-based lifestyle and high consumption of nuts and almond flour (which I will be stopping) I am 65 years young and consider myself extremely healthy (or at least I thought so until the crystals appeared) with walking 5 miles per day 7 days a week, intermittent fasting daily and no processed foods. So… i have a question. I am 47 relatively fit man and I think i developed an oxalates issue which leached calcium from my ankle ( talus) and caused the bone to give way. I deduced this from Sally K Norton when she said you might get a big toe gout symptom but not have gout, which i did. I also was prone to general malaise, inflamed joints, depression and furious bouts of either just leg or full body itching.
So after some years i learnt about lectins and oxalates and radically changed my diet, first keto then carnivore. Many good things have resulted including much reduced pain in my ankle , lifting of depression and general health BUT my itching is still with me ? Am i flushing ? Will calcium and magnesium citrate aid in decreasing the itching or will it just increase the flushing and make it worse ? Maybe an anti histamine?

We started keto 5 months ago, I know it goes against the grain so to speak due to the history of gout. So, now I wonder if oxalates have caused issues for him as far as the gout is concerned? You may want to try a topical magnesium, as this can be well absorbed and bypasses the digestive tract. MAGNESIUM CHLORIDE is absorbed very well when applied to the body. Make sure to rub some of the oil on the bottoms of your feet as well. For a bath or foot soak... you may want to use Epsom Salts ( magnesium sulfate). Good source for additional sulfur. About 2 cups in your warm-hot bath water. Make sure to stay in the tub for at least 20 minutes.

So when I did carnivore, I felt the worst I’ve ever felt. This was so weird because I’ve done keto for a while and had previously done vegan and vegetarian and juice fasting, which all came with their own side effects, of course but moving into straight carnivore was unbearable. I literally had stress dreams and nightmares every night. I was constantly breaking out All over my body, I had a headache that would not go away, and in fact, it literally got worse with each bite of steak. After a month, I just couldn’t take it anymore. I’m wondering if I had to do with oxalate now, but I haven’t met anybody else who had such extreme symptoms.

If you were eating ground beef, egg whites, dairy, bone broth, leftover meat or aged meat, drinking coffee, you were likely having a histamine reaction. The best approach for me as a person with MCAS/HI, hyperoxaluria, mold toxicity, SIBO, etc. is to use an air fryer or pressure cooker and cook from frozen and use beef tallow as my only fat. 8-16 oz steak/meal sizes at a time, only. No sitting around. The body likes mono meals and simplicity. I hope this offers some support.

It’s possible I don’t digest fats that great, but I don’t know how to tell. Do I just cover all the bases and take digestive enzymes, Sam-e for methylation, magnesium citrate, and B6? So much going on… I have no idea what my issue is. Is it merely oxalate dumping from over-consumption of plant oxalates?

I had that issue but it's much better now. It takes some extra work but what worked for me was researching/ordering online meats that were frozen immediately after slaughter and freezing just prior to eating, never eating leftovers. (Us wellness meats is my fave)
I take beef kidney and thymus with each meal for the DAO, and also quercetin (not strict carnivore). SUNLIGHT helps reduce histamine so I always prioritize getting out in it, especially when I feel the worst. I've lived in mold which is a root cause but that's harder to address, always wise to move if you can. I moved and histamine issues disappeared but had another exposure when forced to move again and they came back. Hope this helps, good luck and many blessings 🙏
