I’ve gone from high oxalate to carnivore but still having chocolate and tea to slow dumping. My body has been wrecked by Oxalates 😢 I’ve been dumping through my eyelids my skin my stools my mouth and tongue and my neck muscles. No one talks about the grief process as you realise how much damage has been done by these plant toxins 😢

With my mold illness I learned that mold mycotoxins create oxalates. Mold mycotoxins reduce the Melanocyte Stimulating Hormone which inhibits Vitamin D absorption which is necessary to metabolize calcium. Calcium binds with oxalates. That's my theory of why we mycotoxin-challenged people have trouble with oxalates along with a confused immune system. So much to learn! Two thumbs up if I could!

Great conversation! Thank you. This all explains a lot of what’s been going on for me for years. One thing though - most people trained in nutrition by Universities are telling diabetics to eat bread and telling patients that spinach is a good source of calcium… True story. We don’t need to be university qualified to be able to learn and understand what’s going on in our bodies and how to heal them. But sincere appreciation and thanks to you for sharing your knowledge 😊

I went on carnivore 2 months ago and I have had the worst Oxalate dumping every week the first couple weeks were horrible, One day I really thought I was going to end up in the ER but I found some comments about Dr. Sally Norton and she said to drink some tea to slow it down, I have them coming out of my eyes, gums, skin, pain in my kidneys, I used to eat LOTS zig veggies and make spinach smoothies every day!

This was excellent. She was right on about everything. I’ve been going through this for 8 yrs chronically but started at age 17. Currently working with someone who did the Genetic DNA and found out I had the problem with not producing any bile and the bile pump wasn’t working. I’ve been on bitterx for a few weeks and now my brain fog is gone. Still deal with sibo, sifo, Gliotoxin, but great to feel I’m on the healing path finally. Also using brain retraining to help my nervous system to get into a calm state while I heal.

Thank you so much for this informative and super helpful information!!! For years I've been looking for this information, but couldn't find anything that explains
the connection between sulfur, oxilites and histamine. I've been dealing with mold issues for decades ( of course, I had no idea, I was dealing with mold ). Everything you've mentioned in this talk, is 100% true in my case.
Epsom salt baths, sauna, low histamine, oxilites, sulfur, even carbs, quality supplements, healing trauma ( Irene Lyon is a top notch nervious system export) have been finally helping me to start truly healing. Thanks again for this amazing interview!

Wow. I stumbled across this after three years of hell. I been thinking all my symptoms are histamine. Wow. I just quit eating almonds 2 weeks ago - and sweet potato four days ago.. I thought I had a kidney stone due to pain so I cut them out. I was only eating a half of sweet potato per day. Meat, and cassava and coconut mostly. So I don’t feel too bad. But I bet I’ll get even better if I could get this out. I had asperillus mold exposure for years and got out of it in 2019. Since then I have these attacks or histamine intolerance they said.. but I can’t sleep, joint pain, frequent peeing and chat exercise cardio. I want my life back .. I think this was confirmation that I was on right path to quit oxalates

@@adamtousleyHi! Sally K. Norton explains that it can take some time when the body decides to get rid of the oxalates. Maybe they were stored away in the body for a very long time. She explains it in her book *Toxic Superfoods* and how to assist dumping.
Please acquire the book, oxalate dumping can be life threatening leading to unawareness in traffic for example. She recommends to detox slowly with about 50mg Oxalates per day.

I’ve been carnivore for 5 months but have broken a few times and ended up so sick again. I was reported over 5 years back that I had high oxalates. I was eating all organic super foods and had the worst health ever. Getting IV’s iron and was deficient in my B’s. If only people can understand this more. I believe the greater population has high oxalates and histamine levels. Look at all the underlying health problems and inflammation with just about everyone. It all starts here

This was never an issue for me until recently-was taking an herb for too long that was high oxalate and eating foods that were high oxalate, was battling Candida and Gastritis. Why is everyone suffering so much with gut issues now? I cook and lean pescatarian. Honestly, it is a real drag not being able to eat freely.

I know coffee is low in oxalates but it was making my histamine issues worse. In fact when I quit I feel better incrementally. My digestion gets better, I don't get the histamine reactions I get to even my so called safe foods and I'm able to introduce more and more foods as time goes on. The trick is staying off it because I like the taste of it so much with some half and half.
The half and half isn't a problem because I use it in other things, I've tested that as well. I think there's a fight/flight state factor for me having CPTSD. I also have found some sources saying it's high in salicylates. So that could be a factor too.
Broccoli is high in silicates too as well as being a sulfur food though and I don't seem to react to that. But then I'm not juicing it and drinking it like I'm addicted to it either so maybe that why.

Cut out potatoes by 98% in February, within two months the Blepharitis eye condition cleared up completely.Within 4 months I shed 2 stone in weight which was the reason I stopped eating potatoes. In the summer I came across Sally K Norton interviews, after that reduced tomatoes, cut out leafy green veg and spinach, and sweet potatoes. I increased my dairy intake by eating 450g of Greek Coconut yogurt daily in February too. Now 7 months later, I'm experiencing crystalisation of a long term skin condition. First time I've experienced any oxalate dumping symptoms.

I was diagnosed with high Uric acid after I PAINFULLY passed a kidney stone. Fortunately I avoided hospitals by drinking lots of apple cider vinegar which helped pass the kidney stone quickly. I went from a 10 in pain to 0 in a very short time. High Uric acid ie Gout is a serious problem . Fortunately I discovered this before booking in for orthopedic surgery for knee pain. Would a Mediteranian diet be preferable to carno-keto? Some say to fast for 15 hours (great for weight loss) but can this harm people with MTHFR and Gout?

Excellent intro. To learn more about this, Sally K. Norton is probably the world's leading expert on oxalates and has many informative interviews here on YT. She also has a beginner's guide on her website. As Melanie Peers points out, the process of oxalate dumping is a tricky one, because you don't want to flood your body suddenly with oxalates being cleared from the system all at once, so learning how to regulate the dumping process is essential. Norton gives tips on how to regulate the process, including but not limited to, eating a bit of chocolate to slow the process, as Peers mentions.

Suggest you research the "ethics" of corporate mono cropping agriculture. Few things kill more animals and is as environmentally destructive as the growing of massive fields of oats, soy, quinoa, wheat, broccoli, almonds, spinach, apples etc. The destruction of the soil microbiome with pesticides, herbicides, artificial fertilizer and constant plowing. Eating ruminant animals that graze on pasture, leaving their excrement to build the soil is far more ethical than a vegan diet.
