    HOW-TO ROAST GARLIC RECIPE
    1 bulb of garlic
    1 teaspoon olive oil
    Salt and pepper to taste
    INSTRUCTIONS
Preheat oven to 400ºF. Cut off the top inch of the garlic bulb. You want to cut off enough of the top so that most, if not all, of the cloves are exposed.
Drizzle garlic with olive oil and season with salt and pepper. Wrap the entire bulb in a piece of foil and pop it on a rimmed baking sheet or into a shallow baking dish.
Place garlic in the oven and roast for about 30-40 minutes or until the garlic is golden brown and nice and creamy.
    NOTES
If you want to skip using the foil, you can also roast the garlic, and cut the side down on parchment paper, flipping halfway through.

It’s 2024 now. I’m alone, 68 years old and I’m having people over for Easter. I didn’t know how to roast garlic but after web chasing you were to the point. Short, concise and accurate wonderful.
This unlike the other websites that I went to you were the best.
They were terrible with dozens of pages, but never got to the point.

Yes Stephen this is THE WAY to roast garlic. Don’t bother with those quickie (take 100 cloves of pre peeled garlic) drowned in oil baked till dark brown through & through to result in YUCK! That’s not roasted garlic! That’s over cooked garlic cloves saturated in oil that takes nothing like the real thing!!!

Hey Dani, love your recipes. We cook very similarly! When I do this I always put the "lid" (the top portion of the bulb you cut off) back on the garlic bulb before closing the aluminum foil. This just gives you more roasted garlic with less waste!

I found a short cut and took this from your outstanding recently posted roasted potato recipe. Take the cloves from one head of garlic, outside paper and skins on, and coat with 1/2 tsp of olive or avocado oil. Put on a parchment lined baking sheet and roast at 400 for 15 minutes. They're done! Thank you for all that you do and Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!

I roasted garlic for the first time just now! Thank you, Dani! This was soooo easy and made my home smell like an Italian restaurant. :) I spread the roasted garlic on my toasted gluten-free bread and had it with my salad. It was HEAVENLY. I will incorporate the roasted garlic into many other dishes from now on! Thank you !

Roasted garlic really is amazing, I like to add it to mashed potatoes. I think mashed potatoes are probably the most unhealthy thing I make as I'm of the school of thought that you can never get enough butter, but everyone that's ever tasted them has told me it's like eating crack cocaine. They can't get enough.
That's probably the highest compliment you can ever get for cooking, though, so I'm incredibly proud of myself.

    • @Bigmist8k

That sounds delicious! Wait a minute, how do your friends know what it’s like to eat crack cocaine? Maybe you’re not really a good cook - maybe you just need some other friends! Just kidding. Thanks for the potato tip. I ran across this recipe and decided to roast some of this Costco-sized bag of garlic so it didn’t go bad and came across your idea. Thanks again!

I used to just peel off the skin and break off the bulbs with the bulb skin still on. Then i'd put it in a pan and let the skin naturally peel off. It doesn't become a paste or anything but it looses its garliciness and makes it delicilous.
