I've had my SR5 for a year now and I still can't stop watching these 5th gen 4runner review videos 🤣 Makes me feel like I'm looking to buy one even tho i already have one 😂
I bought an extremely clean 2013 SR5 with 167k miles in February. I live in a rural area and own land where I need something very offroad capable. I also needed something that could pull my 16ft ski boat and it does everything I need it too. Pulls my boat like theres nothing there. This thing moves when you push the gas too and definitely surprised me for what it is. I blacked out all the chrome and put blacked out aftermarket taillights on, along with the black aftermarket headlights that were already on it. I plan on doing a 2 inch lift and 33's in the near future. I have never owned a vehicle I got compliments on, but I get compliments on my 4runner all the time. I could go on for days about how much I love my 4runner.
I love my 2012 Trail 4Runner. My dad got it when it came out in 2012 and handed it down to me in 2019. The happiest I have ever been in my life was getting that 4Runner.
Just purchased a 2024 4runner limited and couldn't be any happier that I made that decision. Always been a huge fan of the 5th gen 4runner since it came out on 2009. Love it, it's my daily driver. My 4runner is fully loaded so it has that fancy suspension, but let me tell you it makes a big difference in ride comfort. I rent a 2022 4runner and puy about 2,800 miles back and forth from Jersey to South Carolina, so I'm very familiar with the 4runner. I also used to work on both 4th and 5th gen 4runner as previous Toyota tech. Highly recommended it, grab one while you can because I have to wait for a little be for mine. Last but not least, yes fuel economy is trash, but you don't buy this truck for fuel economy. You buy a 4runner to appreciate how simple and straightforward everything is, with some modern creatures comfort. I will add some mod to mine, nothing crazy because I have a small child and my wife is on the short side so I actually had to running boards to the truck because of it. Hey Happy wife, happy life. Nevertheless, I'm very happy with my purchase. Hey Ben, keep up with the good work and hope your channel continues to growth.
Great review 😊 ! I traded in my 2017 Ford F150 V8 for a 2024 4RUNNER just for it's simplicity and durability and I intend to keep it for many of years .
Thank you for review the OG 5th gen. Don't see many reviews with the old face. I have a 2011 and it's so reliable and easy to maintain on your own. The best model is the limited for full time 4wd.
I’ve always liked the looks of the original 5th gens they look like a modernized version of the 3rd gens with those iconic boxy headlights. Toyota really did it right with both generations in everything.
Hey Bern! Love the video! 4Runners are wonderful. I currently have a 4th gen V8 limited and it is my favorite vehicle, and I’ve owned many! I used to own a 3rd gen, which I also loved but the ride quality of my 4th gen is so much better.
Mine is the same, but 2010 one and color light gray ! I only upgraded the suspension and front bumper with TRD pro look as well as the tires and wheels 🛞 also from TRD pro version! This truck is a beast, love it!!!
Wow! It tows up to 5,000lbs? Thats great! My 2011 Suburban LT 1500 with 5.3L, and 3.08 rear end gears only tows 5,500lbs max. If i just swap to 3.73 and beef up the suspension, sure, it'll tow about 8,500lbs, but for a V6 4.0L to tow 5,000lbs, that's far more superior than a stock base model suburban! Toyota is truly amazing!
Funny I just bought this same model less than 30 days ago with 162k miles on it and it is still such a great truck. Like your s mine is still really clean inside and out.
I purchased a 2010 limited because like you said its basically the same vehicle, why should i pay 55k for a new limited?? Yeah it has like 225k now but that doesn't scare me because the 4.0L is bulletproof, and i do all the maintenance on it, hopefully it lasts me a lifetime!
My uncle had his 2010 Toyota 4Runner since 2011 and it hardly gives him problem and only has 150,869 miles on it but he use his 2015 Chevy equinox ltz that gives him problems😅
@@BernonCars whoops I meant 98 4runner. I have luckily not had to drive a newer model. Had a 2023 Highlander base and it was a dreadful vehicle to drive. And that was unibody. I can't imagine how badly the current 4runner drives.
Best SUV on the planet...
Yes it is!!
Nah that honor goes to the land cruiser
@@theUltimateLord too expensive. 4runner all day
Just purchased one yesterday Love it so far

Sounds like a great setup you've got there!!
I have a 2011 I love her. She’s family.
Nice, as she should be!! I wish you many years to come with her!

That's great to hear! 😆
Best car review channel on YT by far. Excited to see what the channel does in 2024!
Thank you!!!

I still have my 2011 limited with 253k miles . I don’t think I’ll ever let it go
Yeah never let it go!
Great detailed review! Good stuff 👍
Glad you enjoyed it!! Thank you!
I have a 2014 and I love it.

Yeah 5000! Funny enough that's the norm for midsize V6 SUV's haha

Oh wow what a coincidence haha
Just discovered your channel - you're like the Marques Brownlee of cars. Loving it!
Ahhhh that means a lot to me!! Thank you!!
Got a 2011 at 173k km, put 60k on it and still runs flawless, nothing broke ever
Sweet!!
Excellent job!! Thank you :)

Excellent news!! Yeah it'll easily be one of the best vehicles you've owned!!
10:10 those are called Molle Panel Racks or side roof racks.
Ahh thank you!
Our 3,000$ 07 sienna with leather and a hitch has most of these options, more space, cheaper tires, etc
Two machines for two different needs!
The rear seats do recline. There’s just a second lever!
Ahh yes thank you!
2nd gen 4runners had rear wiper behind spoiler on top
Ohhh right!
Did anyone in here trash the xraes and go with fox2.0s i need to upgrade my springs now

Rear recline level is down by your hip. The Limited is real leather seats
Ahh that's what I thought!!
That engine has enough power to pass out a mail truck! LOL.
LOL the Iron Duke!! 😂
17 in the city 23 on the hwy?? Where??? 🤔😂
Somewhere 😂
I had a ‘98 4Runner sr5. Slow, so much body roll. Look underneath and, like all Japan made vehicles, rust like heck. I hated driving it.
It's come a long way LOL

@anotheran interesting, what didn't you like about the Highlander? Just curious
@@BernonCars mushy brakes, disconnected steering, and body roll.
@@anotheran that makes sense, they are pretty numb to drive
