I have been a nurse for 23 years with 4 of those years as a Diabetic Educator managing a diabetes clinic and teaching patients about insulin pumps and CGMs. We were not allowed to teach patients about low carb diets because it was against ADA recommendations. It is beyond refreshing to hear doctors that are not scared to go against the so called “truths” that are being pushed down our throats. I have Hashimoto’s and multiple other health issues to which I have been offered nothing but surgeries and pills to correct. I have been keto for the past 3 years and it has made a great difference in symptoms, but when we return from vacation, my husband and I are going full carnivore for the 90 day challenge. Beyond excited! Have been binge watching all of these doctors and taking notes. Thank you Dr. Chaffee and Dr. Mason for sharing your knowledge and for sticking your necks out within your peer community. Once you “see” the truth, you cannot unsee it!

I fixed T2, high CRC score, ruptured left ankle ligaments, blood retention in right leg, a through ingrinal hernia, 50% severed left shoulder ligament, a destroyed gut biom, acute constipatuon, tennis elbow, enflamed left hip, sciatica, high blood pressure. @@murraypooley9199 can you go in two a little more detail? Carnivore or lion diet? Do you eat eggs and dairy or just meat? How long did it take for things to start changing for you? I went carnivore also, it's been 2 weeks for me.

    • @murraypooley9199
      @murraypooley9199 3 місяці тому +2

@@Kyarrix I have tried many different variations to see what difference it may make. With me carnivore variation does not seem to make much difference, in the short term anyway, like a few weeks. The important thing is to eliminate seed oils, junk and minimal sugars. I am often on strict lion diet but right now I am eating between 4 to 8 ounces of beef, 2 ounce of bacon, 3 to 6 large eggs, 1/3 liter kefir, 100 grams natural Greek yogurt, 4 ounces of butter, a serving of fatty fish ,1 liter of milk and 250ml of cream. All good protein/fat with a small amount of sugar in the dairy. I work physically rather hard for 6 to seven days a week and Lift weights (HIT) to failure several times a week for 2 hours, plus sprinting, so my energy requirements may be different than most. My body seems to know when the gas tank is full and I will extend the fasting and lower the food intake. Sometimes I will feel the need to eat like a pig. Sometimes I will cut the dairy and just eat meat only, with or without eggs. I do notice when on omad, my strength and waistline drops a bit, then when pigging out often make new personal bests and add back an inch to the waist. I think there is nothing wrong in varying the diet as energy expenditure and or fat stores change, after all that would have been the case with the hunter gatherer. They say at 69 years old, eating a lot of protein to maintain muscle is required. My strength has increased 25% over the last 3.5 years, and health markers have all optimized, that is my yard stick as to what is working.

I am blown away at his explanation of chronic inflammation reducing free iron in the blood leading to deficiencies in body and brain functioning and how that likely causes chronic depression. We have a pandemic of depression and anxiety, my husband and I have been two of those affected for most of our lives. We've been on a health journey over the last decade and going keto and carnivore have probably made the biggest differences in so many issues-including depression and anxiety. How is this not more common knowledge??

Great stuff. I went keto then carnivore during 2022. At 58 my kidney function came back from almost stage 3 failure to normal. Ceased BP meds after 200/120 the year before. Anxiety/depression evaporated lost weight and all the other carnivore goodies. So, my 81 year old father over Christmas had terribly painful diverticula. Convinced him to cease carbs, grains, plants and most importantly stop the fiber to rest his gut. Now, 3 weeks later he has already ceased his blood pressure meds, gut pain almost gone and is on the carnivore bandwagon. So good.

I want to be an encouragement and I hope I accomplish this: eventually over time you will find you won’t need your supplements, and if you were wanting to reduce the medication, it might be beneficial to get tested several times a year to readjust your prescription.
Eventually your body might start having an immediate reaction to the plants you consume, whether they be through supplements or spices and oils. A lot of people mistakenly assume it’s the meat and fat, but eliminating the plants in all forms will eliminate the issues.
I don’t react to coffee that I know of. I have only tested it twice for 30 days each. I need to do a longer test!
Dairy might really have an impact on my inflammation, so I am taking a break for the next 30 days and see if more weight comes off.
My first 30 days eating carnivore, I dropped 20lbs and all inflammation. I was still drinking coffee with butter, egg, and heavy whipping cream.
The next 30 days I dropped another 15 lbs.
I am 11 months eating this way and I have histamine like reaction to spices, some herbs, and smoked meat.
I also learned about oxalate dumping. As long as you are taking herbal supplements, you will not start dumping accumulated oxalates which could be causing a lot of your inflammation besides sugars and carbs. So my thoughts are to taper off and wean off slowly. Look up what symptoms are caused by oxalate dumping to keep track of if you are experiencing these issues.
Welcome to the healing of your life!!

I pray you are right! Unless this gets more popular quickly, we won't have any more independent farmers to raise our beef and other animals. We have to support our local farmers and reverse some of the current laws. I read the other day that over 75% of our beef is imported. I didn't believe it so I googled it. As long as it is shipped in and packaged in America it can be labeled as product of USA! THIS IS ABSURD! If I remember right, this law became effective in 2015. We are losing our farmers and ranchers and we will be in dire straits sooner than we think! I'm afraid for our way of life and health if we don't reverse some of this! I'm ketovore because I still have a morning cup of black coffee and the occasional black olive or pickle.
My family thinks I'm a nut and insists on eating the Sad diet, mostly fast food and breaded fried frozen foods. Whatever can go in the air frier. Don't get me started on the Teflon! That's the only piece left in the house.
I'm 66f and other than the diet situation my 4 generation home is working out great for all of us, 6 years so far. I refuse to be the reason for anyone to be upset so I do my own thing. I did fuss enough that we only use real butter, no seed oils or fruit juices.
My 7yo grandson and I are working on our first sourdough bread starter. I figured if they are going to eat it let's make it the healthiest we can. I still raise an organic vegetable garden and cook it for them. Freeze and share the rest.
I have a cousin that is still farming our grandparents old place thank goodness. She has cattle and raises heritage hogs. I feed our 2 dogs raw and cooked foods mostly meat. They are so excited for mealtime! And my 14yo pug mix is moving with less stiffness and doing much better. No more kibble for them!
I just got my senior lifetime hunting and fishing license last month.
I still have too much arthritis in my back and hands but otherwise my lab work is good and the last few extra inches are coming off.
I need to learn more about this importing beef and start bugging my congressmen. It's just wrong on so many levels.

I've been on a diet of 95% meat/eggs for about a month, and became worried that for 8 days I had no bowel movement; I had no pain whatsoever, but I was nevertheless very worried that perhaps there was some blockage. The discussion of fiber in the first part of this conversation is immensely helpful for allaying my concerns. When I finally did have a bowel movement, the output was relatively small. I should note that as a 74yo person, I religiously supplement each substantial meal with 650mg of betaine HCl (and digestive enzymes). I recommend this supplement to anyone over the age of 60 since German and other studies have shown that the stomach's output of HCl at 60 is well under half the output at the age of 20 (for most people).
Dr Mason is a remarkable scientist, imo. Thanks to both of you for a most enlightening conversation.

German studies? Studies on whom? Carnivores or standard western diet? People on the proper carnivore diet, of any age, generally do not require supplementation. Be very wary of "studies". Always read the studies carefully, including any small print and footnotes. And always look at who funded the study. Many times, the entity that funded the study, is the one that has a vested interest in the product.

Thanks so much for this Dr. Chaffee & Dr. Mason!!! I was diagnosed with EoE about 15 years ago and my Mayo Clinic doctor told me I had two options the medication(swallowed steroids and proton pump Inhibitor) or the "strictest elimination diet you have ever been on." His reply though was it's hard to give up steak, so that rarely works. The younger Mayo doctor demanded I go back on the proton pump inhibitor, which made me look and feel like I had a sun burn. It took 12 years to listen to the older Dr. but I kept the beef and got rid of almost everything else by the carnivore diet(plus coffee off and on)! Major improvements with all my autoimmune issues. Basically been doing this for 3 years except the first two years went off around Christmas(major stressful issues & Covid - its strange not being able to taste things) for a couple months. The first year on it I had incredible noticeable benefits. Arthritis, choking, chest pain, mood everything was greatly improved and it was incredible! Lost 96 lbs including with 5 days fasts. I would call it a carnivore high, even one of my daughters said something has really changed with dad! Now I have been on the Carnivore diet for over a year and made it through Christmas! This last time I do notice more problems remaining, particularly with skin & mood and gradually rising blood sugar(still way better than before with the diabetic range). I upped the fats(particularly with butter & bacon. Eating lots of beef fat trimmings makes me nauseous) and it did bring the blood sugar down a little. I still generally feel much better than years before and can think generally more clearly, although not as good as the first time on the diet.
This video was very helpful and I now have eliminated the dairy(heavy cream & butter), seafood, fish and eggs(hardest since I raise lots of chickens! Egg yolks will be the first thing to reintroduce). Before I have tried to eliminate one of each of those items for extended periods of time, but not all at the same time. Lord willing this will improve some of those remaining issues!
    Thanks again!

That was an incredible conversation! Dr Mason is a wealth of knowledge. I’m going to go back and listen to the info about Vitamin d again. Admittedly I spend a lot of time in the sun…eeek! 😎☀️ I just love being in the sun so much.
    Greetings from Margaret River, WA!
Thanks Dr Anthony. I love your channel 🫶

I've been carnivore and no alcohol for 9 days now. I literally feel superhuman. No cravings at all, more energy than I had in my 20's. It's unbelievable really

A big thank you to both you and dr. Paul for this video a lot of connections were made and blank spaces were filled in. This reminded me of one of my physiology classes back in college. I learned a lot.

I just want to bring up a point and reguardless of the wonderful informative contents by these two wonderful people, which I love hearing from. But just a point to say. I have been watching Paul Mason since the start of my Keto journey. That man has got younger looking. Had I taken on board what he was saying back then I would have been a carnivore much sooner. Carnivore does work and seeing is believing. I see other so called medical experts on other fields etc and they look a complete mess. Look above folks to these wonderful knowledgeable people and they are living the lifestyle and it works. Thank you so much both of you for all your wonderful videos that have helped me so much.
One of the most informative videos by two very knowledgeable people on the whole subject of carnivore. If you ever thought you wear not doing the right thing by adopting this whole lifestyle. Listen to these two wonderful people
