Looks really good Tina! Just wanted to give 3 tips as a former artschool student who graduated in painting :)
1) You can actually water down gesso, this way you’ll need less (that stuff can get expensive if you make big paintings).
2) It is more common to first paint on the canvas and afterwards making it into/on a frame. Sometimes your canvas will stretch a little bit while painting (that’s why pre-made frames from the artstore come with these small wooden bits, they help stretch your canvas/frame again). When you make the frame after painting, you don’t have to worry about the stretching part :) We would just stick the canvas onto a wall with tape or stick it on a piece of wood and put it on an easle, this way you won’t miss the frame while painting!
3) Last tip: you can paint on many different materials, canvas is the best but for example burlap is also possible. Just make sure to gesso it well! Look around at your local thriftshop, sometimes you’ll find big pieces of those materials for little prices (look at the curtains for example! Just make sure it’s not synthetic or stretchy 😊).
(edit: typo)
Thank you ...im always thrifting so these tips are super helpful
Excellent suggestions. Thanks
Yes! Everything you posted I have done too! Drop cloth (you can buy drop cloth curtains of course too) make great curtains, tapestries, etc. and the secret is to moisten the material with a spray bottle/mister prior to painting and misting when paint is only setting on top for blending. made a beautiful Anthropology “knock off) tapestry and it turned out beautifully!
What’s the best type, weight of canvas and where do you get it?
This is very helppfull
Thought I'll be seeing an easy video on making bank canvas, lady pulls out industrial wood cutter. 😆👌
The painting matches so well with our home 🤩 I LOVE IT, BABE! ☺️
Thank you honey! Excited to find it's home in our home 🥰
You guys are so sweet 🤍 The project really did come out great.
My favourite part of your videos is seeing Brian’s comments after 💙
Brian is so lucky to have an amazing talented creative designer in their home! I know he’s pretty handy himself too 😁
@@angelagoudge7247 i was just about to say the same🤣🤣🤣🤣...i kinda look out for his comment as soon as i watch a video.
Something I have done is bought large pieces of art from thrift stores and painted over them and then made my own frame. Great way to find a large canvas for cheap.
It's so beautiful and I love it! Small tip for adding the hanging hardware is to attach the D-ring or Screw Eye to the inside of the frame so the hardware won't scratch the wall and your art will lay flat against the wall. Great job!
It looks easy but I actually understand how hard it really is! You did a lot of work, this is great 😌
Tina! This is beautiful!
thank you, Lulu! 💛💛
@@tinalemac 🌟✨💜
That looks real good, I’d buy that in a heartbeat if I saw it in a store! 👏🏻 👏🏻
I’m forever in awe of your free hand painting skills, you make everything look so good 😍 What a cool project, can’t wait to see you paint more canvases 🤩💪🏻
I love it!!!! love, love, love!
You have totally inspired me!!! 💕
I love it. That bottom left corner texture is stunning 🤩
Looks wonderful
Tina, you have inspired so many people, I'm sure! I picked up painting 2 years ago and there is nothing more rewarding than seeing your own artwork on you walls.❤
Beautiful Tina fabulous job well done 👍🏾😊
This is beautiful Tina. I've been thinking of creating my artwork for a very long time but I was always intimidated by it, but after this video I will definitely gather all the tools necessary to make my own canvas and create my artwork on it. Thanks for inspiring people.
The painting turned out so good! I feel I picked up on some techniques for painting that I hadn't thought of before so thank you!
I really like your hair up! It looks so good!
Wow Tina looks store bought ! If not better ! You are so talented !
Honestly you had three separate videos here. The canvas, the art and the frame. I would have watched them all!
NEVER PUT YOUR FINGER BEHIND WHERE YOURE AIMING WITH A NAIL GUN. YOUR FINGERS SHOULD ALWAYS BE AWAY FROM THE AREA INCASE THE NAIL COMES OUT THE SIDE!!! Safety first !!!!
Gorgeousness! Love watching you make the frames and painting your art. Very lovely.
Amazing. This was such a great tutorial. It was so helpful. Thank you.
Tina, you’re such an inspiration! We would be such good friends irl
Yeah, I would never use screws for this, unless you were using like, 2x4s to make a really bulky frame. The wood glue is really what makes the joint strong anyway. Source: used to be a scenic carpenter, and if we tried to save money by taking apart old flat or platform frames to re-use the lumber, if they'd been wood glued? Forget about it, not coming apart even when the screws were out.
I appreciate this tip! Most of the tutorials I watched used screws, but wood glue really does keep everything together 👏 Thank you!!
@@tinalemac There are also special hardware pieces called "picture frame joint fasteners" or "miter joint fasteners" that work well too.
Beautiful!!! You need to sign it!
Oh wow! That is gorgeous!
This is so rad! Great work.
Been waiting the whole day for this video! Yeah! Enjoyed watching your process.

I for see the "Tina Le Design Studio" in the future! I have a very large framed print I want to replace... so you have given me some confidence to try an paint my own art work. My vision is the phases of the moon in navy, using navy paint with plaster of paris in it to give the "moons" texture! IF I am brave enough to try it, I will send you a picture!
Tina your artwork looks great by doing DIY for yourself there's a lot of money saved congrats with the Wall art👍🏼👍🏼
This is stunning! I am totally going to try this!!! 😍😍😍
This turned out so good!!! I love it!
That was a gigantic canvas and only one size tiny brush in comparison. I was expecting something a bit more but I’m glad you’re happy with it and like it

Loved the painting , if it was in blues and white it would be a ocean, water scene with all the ups and downs in it but love the moodiness in your colours it’s fantastic your a great artist 👩🎨
So amazing! You have definitely inspired me. Thank you for showing us all the steps it took. Is it possible to let us know what paint colors you used? 👏🏼

Amazing!
This was amazing.
turned out good
I wasn't crazy about the results. But art is in the eye of the beholder and if you love it than that's all that matters. I do love your take on it tho and the fact that you diy. Great idea!
I would love to see a silhouette painting like you did of you and your siblings with a nice background(green scenery) but as large as this one....
