    A couple things worth mentioning… 1st, if you are unsure if you want one or not, there is a $5.00 usd (Valkyrie to Galaxy) CCU available for the next couple of days through IAE. That is a very cheap way to lock in a Galaxy at concept pricing for later. If you decide against it you can always melt the CCU for store credit. 2nd, not many people are talking about the fact that CIG also pretty much committed to a Manufacturing module as well as others for the Galaxy. Outside of the Pioneer, this is the only other ship where that’s been mentioned afaik.

    • @DanakarEndeel
      @DanakarEndeel 2 роки тому

      Yeah, the $5 CCU is probably the best option for everyone. Currently the RSI Galaxy is in a weird spot where it doesn't really make much sense. It's not flexible nor multirole while other ships offer better functionality and often for less money. So let's see where CIG plans to take it.

    The one screenshot I saw of the rear bay being a hangar with a C8R ambulance 100% sold me on the ship. I absolutely love it I just wish I could afford it! I'd have to melt everything I have to get it and then I still wouldn't have the Ambulance to complete that dream. Been waiting for a hospital that is smaller than the Hope for a while. Definitely looking forward to getting it in game for sure!

      I think it has to be the Corsair, the MSR is great but getting in and out is painful. Connie handles rough in atmosphere, 400i firepower is below average but shields are amazing.

    Super pumped for this ship, fits alongside my RSI shill fleet of Polaris and Perseus.
    Hopefully the galaxy will arrive in game prior to the Polaris and Perseus, on a relatively quick timescale for its size - it fills a lot of the current gameplay loops, so it would fit in pretty well as soon as ship refineries and tractor beams are in.

      We know the Apollo has space for 3 S3, 2 S2 or 1 S1 bed for each side, so I expect the galaxy to have a similar arrangement or, possibly slightly better but not by much. From the pictures I'd guess 2 carracks equivalent.

      Actually Law is correct, T2 beds can and will continue to be able to support respawn. It’s the T3 beds that lost the respawn ability. For reference please read their (CIG’s) Hospitals and Healing article from when they introduced medical in patch 3.15.

      Incorrect John Crew was very direct about the Carrack having the ability to respawn due to its role as a deep space explorer ship, in the future a respawning will be a last resort when rescue is impossible due to permadeath, healing T2 injuries will be much more beneficial than a respawn.

    My suggest: if u can afford it just get it as a base 380$ version now cause: 1st u'r gonna get a hella cheap carrack as a loaner for 380$ for at least 2 years. and 2nd even if u end up not likeing the ship in the future, your 380 $ ship is gonna be worth 450-500$ for sure in a couple year, so u can just upgrade it to something else and save 100-150$

    • @Leptospirosi
      @Leptospirosi 2 роки тому +2

      ...or just buy a cheap CCU for 5$ on the Valkyrie and keep it sleeping. You won't get the Carrack, if you already own it or you are not interested but at least you'll freeze the price at a minimum.

    • @rooster1012

      You should not pay full price for it or any other ship other than a LTI CCU token as in the Cutter this time around, a CCU chain was only $270 so a savings of $110 with LTI.

    One issue I've seen is that the cargo is only 64 scu without the cargo module. Refinery isn't listed as having cargo room. So that means you can pick up 2 prospector loads only and you fill your hold. That is very low, can't even take a full mole load

    This ship appeals to the very same people who saw the Carrack announced on 11/26/13. Modulation, exploration, medical facility, flight hanger, 456 scu. I know that’s not everything the carrack has to offer, but I would like to see some more progress on existing challenges than dreams that are still 3-5 years off. Great description of the Galaxy LoTW, I really enjoyed the work you did.

  • @Artecius92

    I'd love the turrets to swap from double S5's to quad S3's. Though I doubt CIG will ever allow us a dual gimble mount to mount two guns 2x size lower than the larger one. The S5's are great against other large ships, however against smaller fighters etc it's an issue. With the XXS hangar instead of XS it can't bring a fighter with it outside of maybe an arrow to help be a screen for it.

    • @DanakarEndeel
      @DanakarEndeel 2 роки тому

      That would be great in my opinion as it would give some much-needed customizability which is sorely lacking at the moment. For me, I would love to change the top turret of the Hammerhead from 4xS4 to 2xS5 (or 2xS6 depending on how the changes go) in order to give it one larger caliber 'deck gun'. Now customizing your ships is severely limited to just the type of gun, modules, and a paintjob. We really need more options and being able to attach things to weapon hardpoints in order to modify them from 2x to 4x would already help immensely in diversifying ships out there.

    Well presented Man, while I am surely one who loves the support role (caretaker for life!) I did skip this ship at the end. I am way more a fan of the smaller specialized options. The Expanse as a refinery and the C8R or maybe Cutty Red for First Aid. In the Cargo role I see myself as well flying more with a Freelancer MAX or the Hull ships (size depending on future missions from A to maximum C).

      I ended up getting the Endeavor master set a few years back because it embodied so many different game play loops all within one ship and I couldn't resist.
      This was one of the leanest years for me when it comes to buying ships. My fleet is about as complete as I'd like it to be for now. Although I was looking forward to adding a carrier to my already existing pantheon of ships. Unfortunately I lost out on the F5 war trying to get a Kraken using store credit. Ow well, maybe next year. Or maybe I'll just hold off until they sell a "Kraken slayer" and get that instead, lol. Other than that my only purchase using real money was the C8R Pisces.

      Even without the whole 'bounty hunting' this ship should have a rear-faced turret; even if just a pair of automated point-defense turrets like the RSI Perseus has.
