i mean they are working on the polaris which will be done in 12 months, so probably the perseus and the galaxy will be okayishly soon after that since their design is pretty similar@@fartattention

This is amazing, pictures just don't really give you enough, a walk through even in "greybox or whitebox" really gives you what you need to make a decision or just to know what you are actually paying so much money for. Not me but those who have. Amazing work! Hope to see you do the arrastra at some point!
Really nice video. Just wanted to add. I'm not sure about the hangar doors. I could imagine the doors fold to the outside somewhat like the front door of the caterpillar. Not sure if that's possible in the concept right now. But that would be my guess for now.
I personally would add a window behind the captains desk for him to look out (with a privacy screen when needed) and making the slit looking into the hangar in that hallway there to go to the floor. This would allow a view from the Cpt chair front and back and IMO would be a cool feature. Also who knows we got a construction module coming... maybe someday there is more? I can dream right? So combat module 2 size 5 or 6 turrets, one on top and bottom, yes then 20 size 5 torpedo's then we can show them what this star destroyer is capable of! Or a module that extends the hangar into the module and maybe adds some type of repair and larger ships. This ship should be a gunship, but not as shielded or armored as say a Perseus. Or it can be a repair ship, but not as much to replace the others (maybe size restriction), a builder, a refiner, a medical ship or cargo ship or even a jail/bounty hunter module. Jack of all trades but master of none, due to the modular design. I'm full of the copium tonight everyone but lets go! But you know you want to do it CIG, sell us some modules ;)

The bridge view is amazing, even if it isnt the official idea. It gives a nice idea of what it *could* look like. Especially with the lighting, it'd be amazing to have that view, just standing there with the ship landed on a cliff face, the rising sunlight casting an orange glow throughout the bridge, it'd be amazing.
Well it might not be 100% accurate, but I reconstruced the Artwork pretty much 1:1 - this is the official idea of the layout (except that I hid the center chair for visibility)!

I believe Cig's ship designs are also supervised by the marketing team, the reason why they didn't do more with the potential empty spaces could just be them trying to fit the ship within the price point and still let the other ships to shine
No, they said "empty void area", here is the quote from the Q&A: "If you have no module, the Galaxy has an empty void area with a shell to keep the hull airtight, allowing you to traverse from the hangar to the rest of the ship. As it’s simply an empty space, you could put “stuff” in there but, with a lack of cargo plates, it would be subject to all the normal risks of unsecured cargo."
The inside seems quite close to what it will look like when finished. I seem to now have a preview of what the pilot visibility will be like. I can't see what's below, and there seems to not be as much visibility on the sides.

maybe they will do some sort of hangar doors that consist of many narrow lengthy plates that fold into the side panel of the ship when they open, like some curtain
11:35 that central hallway window could get bumped out into the the hangar area to create a control room for cargo beam control or any other oversight needs of the rear space. The only reason I can see this not working is if it interferes with the modularity plans (i.e. needing that perfect square or rectangle to drop the modular box in)
I said the same in the video :) but I dont believe there is a tractor beam in the back hangar, as there are almost no cargo grids - its not meant for cargo.

If love seeing the modules and maybe some interesting smallish ships landed like a defender, razor, m50, fury, etc. No bathrooms is an interesting miss.

Are you talking about the rear hangar? Thats to high for a Nova to drive into, 6 meters off the ground. Unless it fits on the cargo elevator (which I doubt), it won't get in there - ill try in part 2 though!
We already know they can project 3D imagery if look at ships like the Storm, and the Birbie ships - Talon and Prowler, so why closed limited visual cockpits on other ships could not have this extended for the portions where there is interference... it seems like it should be a possible paid upgrade in future maybe?
I can't say for sure, but I am 99% sure neither the storm nor the Talon project the cockpit view - they just toggle the visibility of the glass to make it look and feel like they do. A real projection, while possible, is really hardware intense, and they opted not to do that on the scopes for that reason, I believe they said at CitizenCon. I might be wrong.
I have a feeling this ship will change a bit during it's concept and white box (considering that the current design doesn't have bathrooms). Like some ships it'll probably grow by a few meters at least. It would be cool if it had a hangar module as it's 'basic module' that basically removes the back wall and expands the hangar, seems a little weird that an aurora is too long for it
I have to wonder whether they intentionally shortened the Galaxy to make it worse than the carrack and odyssey. the hangar does look a bit too short, the galaxy wouldve probably looked better with a longer hangar attached
Hopefully they add those windows near the engineering stations, cig's conversion for Windows and physical turrets has been problematic in recent designs
As stated in the beginning, I aligned it to the blueprint they gave us. It's not 100% accurate but it is not made up either. I would assume it should not be off much more than a meter, max. @@xanderprentice1740

Love the walkthrough! I like the Galaxy however with such a critical role like base building this thing is a sitting duck against bombers and fighters. It needs more anti-aircraft defenses. No ramp is also dumb. Not sure why they cripple ship functionality on purpose

Kinda worried the hangar is a bit small I think the main draw is the overall size of the part that’s modular, and the hangar being basically empty should hold at least a pair of decent fighters like gladius imo

Do you think the hanger might fit a Prospector? The Galaxy is the Swiss army knife of ships. Excited to hear that it will have a base building module.
since it's even longer than the Aurora - propably only if parts are allowed to hang out - ill test it in Pt. 2, Prospector would make a lot of sense.

yeah a hangar module that changes it from the middle section only, to one giant hangar including the rear space for a bigger hangar!

I feel like people don't listen. The Galaxy won't be released until late 2025. After the Polaris and the Zeus.

Your white box design looks better than most of the ships do by cig! It looks like you even did some graybox parts. They should really hire you! Please send them this as your application xD it's epic!

Windows are not really RSI thing that is more Aegis and Anvil. RSI has a more submarine approach to spacecraft.
Love the walkthrough! I like the Galaxy however with such a critical role like base building this thing is a sitting duck against bombers and fighters. It needs more anti-aircraft defenses. No ramp is also dumb. Not sure why they cripple ship functionality on purpose

Really impressed with the work you put into this. Could the rear hangar maybe have some kind of roller shutter door?. Seems odd to have it just open like that, even with some kind of shield. Great stuff!.

Kinda worried the hangar is a bit small I think the main draw is the overall size of the part that’s modular, and the hangar being basically empty should hold at least a pair of decent fighters like gladius imo
