    Love the recipe! I was wondering, can i use erythritol instead of coconut sugar?

    • @HungryHobby
      @HungryHobby  3 роки тому +2

      I'm not 100% sure! I don't have much experience using erythritol. In general, though, a solid sugar for a solid sugar like brown sugar, coconut sugar, maple sugar, or some of the 1:1 stevia/monk fruit blends should work to sub for each other. Just the taste and texture may change a bit. What I don't advise is subbing a liquid sweetener for the coconut sugar. Hope that helps!

    How long we can store them? And should we put them in cool n dry place in an air tight container or in refrigerator??

    • @HungryHobby
      @HungryHobby  3 роки тому

      They will probably last no more than a week on the counter, but up to 2-3 weeks in the fridge!

    Hello I tried this recipe, my kids love it. Thank you The only issue is the cookie breaks/crumble easily. Did you use any other binding agent?

    • @HungryHobby
      @HungryHobby  3 роки тому +2

      So glad your kids love this recipe, my toddler is obsessed as well. So, ours weren't super crumbly. Make sure to let cool completely then store in the fridge, that should help. So the issue isn't needing a binder, you have plenty of binding capability with the eggs and the oats. Oat flour baked goods in general will be more crumbly than those made with flour. Oats and oat flour don't have the gluten matrix that gives the chewy texture to baked goods made with regular or whole wheat flour. Therefore, they will crumble more than a regular baked good. In general, I've been able to minimize it as much as possible in my recipes since I'm very familiar with the quirks of working with oat flour BUT, you should expect the final texture to be a bit different from a normal cookie. Hope that helps!

    Hello I am new sub. Can you omit the sugar and use only m syrup and how much?

    • @HungryHobby
      @HungryHobby  3 роки тому +3

      Hi Joanne, when it comes to baked goods you really want to keep the ratio of liquids and dry ingredients the same when you make subs. So, you could sub maple SUGAR (not syrup), date sugar, regular sugar, or brown sugar but I would not sub out the coconut sugar for maple syrup or any other liquid. This will likely change the consistency of the cookie dough and the finished product if you do. Thanks for subscribing!

    Mine got so thin it melted into one large cookie. What did I do wrong?

    • @HungryHobby
      @HungryHobby  2 роки тому

      Usually, the batter spreads out when the cookie dough is too warm. I've made this recipe several times in the middle of the summer and never needed to refrigerate it. But, if for some reason your kitchen was really hot or you over mixed it, that might be why!

    How are these healthy? You have three type of sugar (chocolate chips, sugar and maple syrup) and you have egg and butter for saturated fat.

    • @HungryHobby
      @HungryHobby  Рік тому

      I'm curious what you would consider healthy? You don't eat any sugar or saturated fat at all? Sure, the most nutrient dense foods are veggies and proteins. However, these have a whole grain base and much less sugar than a traditional cookie. So if you want a cookie, these would be a better option than regular. But no one is forcing you to eat them or call them healthy :)
