RECIPE: ***scroll*** *Ingredients:* ½ cup butter 1/2 cup white sugar 1/2 cup dark brown sugar 1 egg 1 tsp vanilla 1/2 tsp salt (kosher) 1/2 tsp baking soda 1 1/3 cups AP flour 1 cup large chocolate chips *Instructions:* 1. Melt butter in a saucepan until it turns dark brown, and has a nutty scent. 2. When browned, transfer butter into a large mixing bowl and let cool for 5 mins. 3. Add white and brown sugar to the bowl and incorporate fully. 4. Add your egg to the mixture and it should look like a slimy consistency. 5. Add vanilla, salt and baking soda into mixture and mix fully. *aim baking soda into pool of vanilla to activate baking soda* 6. Once mixture is a ribbon-like consistency, add in flour and large chocolate chips. Mix until no streaks of flour are left. 7. Scoop into round dough balls on a parchment-lined baking sheet. 8. Sprinkle with salt if desired. 9. Chill 10 minutes for flatter cookies. 10. Bake for 10-12 minutes at 350º F.
I made these cookies for my family, they turned out perfect! first time my chocolate chip cookies were crunchy on the outside and chewy and soft on the inside! They also for once did not actually turn flat! For anyone debating wether to make these cookies or not, I highly suggest it. I personally made a few tweaks: I kept the exact recipe but I changed the amount of sugars to 75 grams of white sugar and 85 grams of dark brown sugar Turned out perfect! :)
tip: before u put them in the oven, put it in the fridge for 1-2 hours, it makes them very soft and chewy ! if u want it to last soft and chewy for a long time (put it in the fridge overnight) it really helps ! i also recommend to sift the sugar before putting it inside the batter so that the batter is more smooth and when u bite into it there wont be any clumps! (if its sticky its fine)
Question, do you roll it in balls before putting it in the fridge or let it be then roll after freezing? And after freezing do you cook it instantly pr let it rest for a few mins?
INGREDIENTS IN GRAMS: Unsalted butter 113g White sugar 100g Brown sugar 100g Plain flour 171g I also use one 5x8 Cadbury’s dairy milk bar for the chocolate chips and they taste amazing! I’ve made these cookies with these amounts of ingredients 4 times now and they come out perfect every time! I also found this recipe makes 10 cookies btw :)
I made these last night and my husband and I were blown away!! These are the BEST chocolate chip cookies I’ve ever made 😁 thank you for the wonderful recipe ❤️
Thank you. This is the best Chocolate Chips Cookies recipe ever. I reduced white sugar to 75 g. and brown sugar to 85 g. and baking time to 9 min. They are super perfect.
Hey guys! I made these yesterday and they were SO delicious! I'd change a few things though - i found the cookies to be super sweet, so next time, i'll go with 1/4 cup white sugar (instead of 1/2 cup white), and 1/2 cup brown sugar. Also, my cookies didn't turn out soft and chewy on the inside, so i'll probably just bake for 10 mins instead of 12, and let the rest of it cook after I take it out. Thank you for this amazing and super easy recipe!!! It hardly took any time to make it, and it was my first ever time making cookies!!
So did you try it then. I like my cookies more towards the crumbly crunchy type and not too sweet do you think i should decrese the amount of brown sugar instead?
Somehow some of mine ended up flat and I feel it was because of all of the sugar :/ you’re def right tho that they’re too sweet so thank you for the adjustments! Wish I had seen this comment earlier haha
Cookies are definitely too sweet and the white sugar has a hard time melting in cooking (maybe different oven wasn’t hot enough so chrystals were a bit sand granules like texture on the bight)...will try an other batch with less sugar...I also think u suppose mix the baking soda with the flower first to make it more even for the rising...
Made these cookies today and it came out so well! I’ve never succeeded in making cookies that have a crisp surface but still soft inside and was really surprised when my cookies came out perfectly the way I want them to. Was afraid that the cookies will be too sweet after reading through the comments, thus I used 50g of white and brown sugar and the sweetness was just right for me. Thank you so much for this recipe, will definitely refer to this recipe only from now on
An update for those who don't like very sweet cookies: These were sooooo good. I baked it at 180°C for exactly 11 minutes as the top comment said. I'm also not a fan of very sweet baked goods, so I drastically reduced the sugar - 50g white sugar, and 60g dark brown sugar. I added a bit more salt to counteract the sweetness, too (edited: I didn't add more salt in the next few batches, and I actually prefer it that way!). They still came out SO good and so chewy. And since they're just ever so slightly sweet, even my mom can enjoy them! (I also used bittersweet chocolate, instead of semisweet.)
@@floppydisk9541 I generally prefer soft, chewy cookies, and that’s how this turned out. The edges are just slightly crispy, but maybe they may have been crispier if I let the cookies bake for a couple more minutes!
I’ve been really sad seeing all these baking videos because all of the stores where I live are out of flour every time I try to go find some. Baking is so fun and therapeutic for me. Hopefully I can pick up some flour soon! I hope and pray you and your family are staying safe and healthy Dzung! ❤️
I found out the days when my grocery stocks and go as soon as they open! I managed to get Some and was shocked!! Turned out they did restock on Wednesdays and I was there right when they opened.
You can also try your local Dollar general market or dollar store. I work at Publix and can't find it there or Walmart... But I've been lucky to find it at Dollar general
I tried this cookie and it was just amazing. Having been trying out several cookie recipes on youtube but never got a perfect one. But finallllyyy. I doubled the batch and coul make around 28 cookies of medium size. I have few suggestions: My cookies turned out to be a bit salty than I would like, the chewy center was salty than crispier edges (dont know why). But not so bad that I had to throw them out. It can be manageable. So I prefer to add only 1/4 tsp of salt instead of 1/2 tsp. I used himalayan pink salt. In the video she used kosher salt, not sure if that made some difference. Since the chewy part was saltier, I ended up baking more (14 mins, 180 degree celcius) so that I get it bit more crispy to turn down the saltiness, and it did work. Other than the salt part, it tastes amazing. Try is out guys, you would not regret Butter - Elle & Vire (Unsalted) Chocolate Chunks - Lindt Extra Fondant Dark Chocolate
Stop looking for other recipes and trust me when I say these are the best cookies I have ever made. I doubled the recipe and these weren't greasy or cakey but were rich goey crunchy on the outside and chewy on the inside. Love this recipe ❤❤❤❤
she didn’t lie when she said this was the best chocolate chip cookie, they’re fr better than the ones you buy. and they get so much better the next day, super soft and delicious. it’s my go to recipe when i’m in the mood for cookies now🥰
This is my go-to chocolate chip i recipe! Although with some variations: As she mentioned in the video if you want them chewy pop it in the fridge for 10mins. Also, i substituted half a cup of AP flour with oats just because i like oats and it turned out really well! I could say the idea of heating up the butter and using good quality ones is the real game changer! Looking forward to more tips and tricks!
I made these cookies tonight.... BEST chocolate chip cookies I have ever had in my life. I have tried LITERALLY dozens of recipes because I have been trying to find the perfect one, and this is it, by far. Cooling the butter after melting is definitely crucial, like she said. I sprinkled a little sugar on top instead of salt, and it turned out great. I’m in love with you already, can’t wait for more recipes!
So I‘ve been baking for some years and tried a few cookie recipes and none of them flashed me or were so good that I ate more than a few in total. This is the first cookie recipe where I‘m honestly SHOCKED at how good they are!!!! Browning the butter is such an important step that changed everything and I love how you don‘t need equipment and don‘t need to cream the butter first. The cookies kept such a nice shape and are indeed crispy from the outside and chewy inside. I did change the sugar amount to 110g total like someone else commented and I‘m happy I did! Would‘ve been to sweet for me because I don‘t really like to eat super sweet stuff and only bake my own sweets. This will be my go-to recipe from now on, I‘m so happy I finally found the perfect recipe. Thank you SO much!!!
@@natasyanabilla it was crispy from the outside but super chewy/soft from the inside. I baked it for exactly 11 minutes and they were absolutely perfect texture wise! If you only like soft cookies and don't like a crispy exterior (but chewy inside) then I would maybe look for a different recipe :)
After so many chocolate chip cookie recipes I’ve tried, this is by far THE BEST cookie recipe ever! I am sadden that I didn’t stumble across this first 😩 I was able to make 12 cookies and didn’t have to let it sit in the fridge at all. All cookies spread out perfectly just as it is. When I first took it out of the oven, it had a little muffin top look to it but after cooling it down for 10 minutes, it flattened and had a nice crisp top! Thank you Honeysuckle for your recipe!
i agree! i tried this recipe too and it was the BEST chocolate chip cookie i have ever tried. i have made it a few times now, and it has worked perfectly every time!
I rarely comment on UA-cam videos, but I just have to say these were simply magnificent. This is only the second recipe I’ve used to try and make chocolate chip cookies from scratch, but I don’t think I will ever look for another. Your instructions were so clear and easy to follow! These cookies were heavenly: perfectly crispy on the edges with a gooey, soft interior. I have never tasted such an amazing cookie!
I tried making it today and it turned out so so good, it is really chewy in the inside and crunchy on the outside,, a perfect recipe. This cookies are my first ever and I'm just happy that it is perfectly splendid
My family said my cookies are so good! Thank you so much for the recipe ❤️ TIPS : - Let the butter cool first before start the kitchen war - Less sugar - Don't put over amount of choc chip
Thanks for sharing this recipe. I’m only a week and a half into baking and have tried to make many different things. These cookies are the first ones that I actually liked. Added an extra yolk to my cookie dough though and used bittersweet and milk choc coins, turned out amazing.
Hey!♡ I tried these right know they turned out super delicious. Instead of brown sugar I used coconut sugar mixed with a few tablespoons of honey♡ So good! Thank you for the recipe
i'm thinking of adding honey to my brown sugar because where I live the brown sugar does not pack down the same. Did adding the honey change the texture or taste at all??
I've made these cookies countless times since watching this video... and let me tell you! They are the best chocolate chip cookies out there! I memorized the recipe by my second time because it is so simple (yet absolutely divine) My family goes bonkers for these. And they are SUPER easy to make! *Some tips I picked up:* 1). If you have sugar in the raw, think about using a tiny bit of it. I ran out of brown sugar today and swapped it for some sugar in the raw. It adds an amazing crunch! 2). Bake the cookies for a couple minutes longer if you want it to be toastier and crunchier. My oven is a little off so I end up baking them for around 16 minutes but every oven is different. 3). If you think you're browning the butter wrong, don't give up. Sometimes it takes a while and some trial and error. But you'll get there! 4). Mix up the chocolate chips! This time, I used milk chocolate, semi-sweet *and* dark chocolate chips. Wonderful juxtaposition in your mouth!
@@nancychea1611 I only cool mine for a couple minutes. I put it into a separate bowl (make sure it’s one that does not retain heat) and then I give it a stir to cool down. The sugars should cool it down as well. I’m not sure why yours turned out flat. But you can always cool the batter in the fridge before you cook them :)
@@yerocc Thank you. I made it again and they have some depth but not like the video or other videos I seen using the same video. Maybe I should trying cooling the dough before placing them in the refrigerator.
I just made them with white chocolate chips and salted roasted macadamia nuts and let me tell you something: These are addicting. I‘m baking since I was very young and I was always on the search for the perfect recipe. This is it. I am in heaven. Thank you so much you made day ❤
I created this account to write this review. I am SHOOK . These cookies taste like CRUMBLE cookies , ( the best cookies I’ve had in my life). I was SCARED because not only when I cooked my butter did it look a burnt color, NOT GOLDEN BROWN..and not only was my BROWN SUGAR expired and hard as a rock.. but then after I mixed everything up I realized I didn’t have baking soda, instead just baking POWDER! I used three times the amount it called for baking soda for the equivalence.. and it is AMAZING!!! I can’t even imagine how they would taste if I had all the perfect ingredients. ANDDDDD I didn’t have parchment paper I used a greased baking sheet. LMAO. 😅
I tried out making these cookies yesterday and I'm not even kidding when I say these are really THE BEST CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES i have ever made :) Can't wait to bake them again!!! Tip: I couldn't find any chocolate chips so i had to improvise and I bought chocolate bars and chopped them into smaller pieces & they turned out really GREAT!
I just made these, I used 3 types of chocolate, I added 2 heaping teaspoons of peanut butter (warmed in the microwave until smooth ) I don't know how they taste yet😂I will be back in a few 👍
They came out perfect and I've only made cookies from scratch three or four times in my life, thank you for this recipe my dad loved them and he is a cookie monster 😂
I made these just yesterday and they were AMAZING! I used a mix of 70% dark and 50% dark chocolate chips. And i kept them in the fridge overnight and baked them next morning, they spread pretty evenly. Make sure to let the cookies cool down for like 10-15mins before digging in. This is by far the best recipe i’ve come across!
It’s my first time to try and bake chocolate chip cookies and I feel like i’m already a pro in baking cookies because of this recipe 😭😭❤️ thank you so much!
For all my fellow METRIC / GRAMS lovin folks ..here’s my take on this recipe I’ve updated this since first posting with amendments that gave me an even better 🍪 90g browned butter made from 113g unsalted butter (I made mine the previous day so it wasn’t melted just soft) 75g white sugar (I used caster/superfine) 75g light brown sugar 1 egg 1 tsp vanilla extract 190g plain flour (or 95g cake flour and 95g bread flour) 1/2 tsp baking soda /bicarbonate of soda 1/2 tsp salt (I used fine pink Himalayan salt) 100g dark chocolate chips (it was all I had lol) I would have definitely added 150g -175g Sprinkled a few with sea salt flakes 175c for 10 - 12mins I used a kitchenaid stand mixer...butter and sugar first then added egg and vanilla. Sifted and mixed dry ingredients (except the choc chips) and added to the the wet. Added the chocolate chip last. I didn’t chill the dough (I was hungry and impatient) and they did spread but it turned out just the way I like them...you could chill them for a while. I’ll chill next time I bake them and report back. UPDATE: cookies were delicious baked straight away but they were phenomenal when I left the dough to chill for 24 hours I think the brown butter definitely takes it to the next level... delicious!
THIS IS THE BEST CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIE RECIPE IVE EVER TRIED. I say that with all capital letters because i bake cookies almost every week so I like to try a bunch of recipes to see which ones I like. And what caught my attention is the brown butter. The aroma of it was so heavenly, I then understood why browning it was a key step/how differed it from melted butter. The recipe is good with or without chocolates; and might I say it’s BETTER than Toll House and all the other store bought cookies. Thank you sooo much for this recipe. Definitely one I wrote down in my cook book!! My boyfriend is already asking me to make another batch so I’m gunna have to double (or triple) it 🙏🏻🤩
Hi have you tried bon appetite's brown butter cookies? So far is this still your best chocolate cookie you've triedd? Please let me know cos Im trying to look for the best chocolate chip cookie. Thank youu
@@reeyasi4073 hi there! I haven’t tried their recipe yet but so far This is my go to recipe for chocolate chip cookies. Try it out and let me know how you like it! The brown butter makes SUCH a difference 🤩
OMG THANKS! literally I am the WORST cook ever when it comes to sweet treats and in just a first go I MASTERED these cookies. Thank you for such a great simple recepie
If you want 12 cookies(1.5x the recipe), here’s the recipe 12 tbs/3/4 cup Butter(1 1/2 sticks) 3/4 cup Brown Sugar 3/4 cup White sugar 1, 1/2 Egg(Just 1 egg with around 2-3 tbs of milk worked for me) 1, 1/2 tsp Vanilla Extract 3/4 tsp Kosher Salt 3/4 tsp Baking Soda 2 cups All-Purpose Flour 1, 1/2 cup Chocolate Chips Bake 10-12 minutes at 350 F in the oven (Optional, before baking) Sprinkle a little salt Chill for 5-10 minutes
This is my go-to chocolate chip cookie recipe!! And this is also my 1st ever baked good when I started baking last year. Couldn’t count the times I’ve tried this recipe, it turned out perfect always. Thank you for sharing your recipe to us honeysuckle 🥰 your voice is also soooo cute and the instructions are clear! Love everything about this vid 💕
It's extra chewy if you use part bread flour and part AP, and also in addition to chocolate chips you can chop up a dark chocolate bar for a variety of texture.
Just baked them this afternoon to beat the Monday blues.. reduced both sugars to a third of a cup each.. OMG.. the cookies were seriously delish!!! So soft and the chocolate gooey .. I used pink sea salt crystals instead of Kosher . Super YUMMY ! Such a simple recipe but cookies were out of this world !!!! Gobbled down a cookie before dinner, couldn't wait!!! Definitely a fool-proof-anyone-can-bake cookie!!!! Thank You!!!!
I made this yesternight and it was delicious! I only put in 75g both dark brown and white sugar. But it really depends on the chocolate you're using, so you might wanna adjust. I used bittersweet with enough sweetness already. 1.5g of iodized salt, none on top. Perfect balance for me. Used an ice cream scoop. (Really made a difference with the look) Baked at 350F for 13 mins. Didn't want it too chewy. PS: I tried BA Chris' recipe but it came out greasy. Aaand I want my cookie thicc. (Just my preference)
I love how many people are watching while we're stuck at home. My kids have been asking to make chocolate chip cookies. I would make them using a tablespoon size cause I want a lot of cookies.
Thank u for the recipe. I tried it today n it turned out really good. Few tips : I added one tablespoon of coffee and before baking my cookies I put them in freezer for 2 hours.
Awesome ccc!!! I tripled the recipe, scooped onto a cookie sheet using a small cookie scoop, covered with cling wrap and froze for 2 hrs. I transferred the frozen cookie ball doughs in a ziplock bag and just take some out of the freezer and bake whenever I need that freshly baked cookie smell in my life. 350F for 14-15mins is perfect for me.
Made these for my boyfriend and his family and they absolutely loved them and it was a super easy way to impress them! Also make sure you get the Kerry gold butter it does make a huge difference! Thank you so much for the recipe 🥰❤️
I made these and they've got rave reviews. I added a tablespoon or two flour extra to tighten the dough because my colleagues prefer crunchy, biscuity cookies. It worked amazing. Might just be the best review I've gotten. Thank you!
I MADE THEM!😍 to believe me, you gotta try it😉 oh and I added a 1/2 a teaspoon of espresso powder or coffee powder and it enhanced the chocolate and it tasted so good
I’ve made these several times now, they always come out incredible and everyone that tries them loves them, thanks so much for this recipe this will be my forever recipe
Okay i tried these and they were so good, finally my hunt for the perfect chocolate chip cookie has ended!!they did take 20 minutes to bake though, but worth it! And in my opinion, unchilled have the best texture, loved these!!!
Hands down the best chocolate chip cookie recipe I've ever tried. The browned butter makes such a difference - don't skip this step!!! I added 1/2 tsp of almond extract, large milk chocolate chips, regular semi-sweet chocolate chips, and Skor bits... oh my goodness, absolute perfection. The cookie itself, without all the extras, is exactly what i've always searched for... thank you for this video!!
Just made these about an hour ago. Wow, I can’t say enough how happy that I’ve finally found a recipe after trying several and being disappointed. My family & I loved them and this will be my staple chocolate chip forever! Thank you. 🍪
Ever since I made this cookie I never was able to stop baking them ❤️❤️😭 ive taken a photo of the process everytime I bake them and lemme tell you I made such a huge improvement! At first the sizes were so huge and the crust were a bit strong but now the sizes are perfect sizes and the crust has the perfect texture I was looking for! (Tip: don’t overmix it like I did it’ll get rid of the taste and soften it lol. Learnt it the hard way)
1. I'm a guy that does the baking in our house (my wife thinks that cooking is when she takes the bag of chicken tenders out of the freezer and microwaves them); 2. I have a degree in chemistry and excelled in quantitative chemical analysis (where I measured things to 0.001 gm) so I know how to follow a recipe to "synthesize" something; 3. I have made chocolate chip cookies MANY times. This recipe is by far the best I have tried and has become my new #1. No more store bought cookies. No more bakery store cookies. Done. Oh, just finished another batch and our house smells amazing!! 👍 🍪 🍪 🍪
Dzung, I gotta tell you I've had some great cookies in the past BUT THESE SURPASSED THEM ALL! I made these this evening and they were so delicious, perfectly crunchy with a soft and gooey inside. I love how easy and low maintenance they were to throw together, thank you so so much for sharing this recipe!
I am a chocolate chip cookie connoisseur, and this was the best recipe I have ever made! The browned butter really heightened the flavoring of the cookie and gave it a somewhat toasted flavor. I paired it with dark chocolate chunks and it was heavenly!
Hi have you tried bon appetite's brown butter cookies? So far is this still your best chocolate cookie you've triedd? Please let me know cos Im trying to look for the best chocolate chip cookie recipe. Thank youu
1/4/23: Happy New Year Everyone 🥰 I made these today and can I just tell you… they are delicious. Tasted like Insomnia cookies 🍪. I added 1/4 cup of walnuts to my batch. Have an amazingly wonderful day!
Wow, I'm so happy I found this video! I've been trying to find a good cookie recipe that's not too long to make and this is the one. I tried this recipe this afternoon and the cookies are amaziiiiing! Also, big thank you to the person who added the measurements in grams it made things easier for me. For those of you who are French, I personally used cassonade (for the brown sugar part) and it worked very well!
I tried out this recipe today and they came out amazing! I lessened the amount of white sugar, added a pinch of cinnamon, added white chocolate and I don’t think i browned the butter enough either but even with all this, they came out amazing! I only baked 3 today and refrigerated the rest of the dough, I’ll let you know how that turns out tomorrow!
I tried this recipe with 50g white sugar and 60g brown sugar (the result is more brownish), still taste sweet and delicious! I also put the cookie dough at chiller for a day, it's amazing recipe ✨ thank you!!
omg i just made this today and they’re AMAZING! i reduced the sugar a little and it was still pretty sweet. i also doubled the recipe and was able to make 28 pretty decent sized cookies
INCREDIBLE! I double the recipe (exactly as she has the ingredients), used a 'small' ice cream scoop and it made 40 cookies. I did the "pan drop" method too. Dropped the pan 2-3 times after coking 6 min, then cooked it around 3 min. Perfection!!!!! I put them in the fridge overnight simply for timing reasons but I do think that actually made the second batches more chewy. Other vids recommend that (or at least an hour).
I just made this and after trying out multiple "best chocolate chip cookies recipe", i have to say this really is the BEST 🍪. I didn't have butter on hand, so i used margerine and followed your exact recipe. Still turned out really good. Thanks for sharing!
i’m telling you guys right now this is literally the best cookies i’ve made at home , everyone loves them when i bake this specific recipe and now it is my go to !
I agree with everybody. The flavor of the cookies is amazing. I think browning the butter is the key. The only thing that I would change is less sugar. My husband loved them. ❤
i can’t get over their taste they are perfect chewy on the inside and all the chocolate melted and crispy in the outside will definitely be a stable for me
I have a extremely picky brother and father, when I made this, they both loved it! My father, a fan of sweets (but usually hates my pastries TwT) actually loved it! My brother who prefers salty foods liked it which really surprised me. Very good results! (I used a different type of butter, but it seemed the same as the video at the end)
I thought the butter was going to be a challenge but it ended up going better than I expected! The recipe was easy to follow and aside from my oven being weird needing like 10 extra minutes to actually cook all the way, this will be my go-to recipe. I just bought a cookie jar the other and I cannot wait to fill it up with these bad boys!
Not that theres a shortage of comments endorsing these cookies but they're so good I had to give mine too. This is def THE recipe for chocolate chip cookies everyone, go make them 👏👏🤤
Just tried this recipe, they were the best cookies I've ever made. Definitely would recommend trying it out, super chewy and crispy, they were perfect!
So GOOD! I did put them in the refrigerator for 15 minutes. Had to bake for 15 minutes…turned out fantastic. Looked and tasted like I got them from a bakery! Thanks for a perfect recipe!❤
By far the BEST recipe I have tried . You can make it all in one bowl instead of separate bowls for wet and dry ingredients, and it smells amazing as soon as your start making it !!! And it’s the prefect ratio of chewy and crunchy 🤤 Though , I would lessen the level of sugar because it was a little too sweet for me , even though I have a sweet tooth 😅
Thank you for the delicious recipe! They came out perfect, lil crispy on the outside and slightly chewy on the inside. The only thing I would do differently is put less chocolate chips... I don’t like my cookies too sweet... thank you 🙏🏽 this will definitely be my go to cookie recipe.
OK, I have tried many chocolate chip recipes and I can easily do without. This one is simple, yet pretty darn amazing. In fact, I only tried it because of her method in how she treated the butter peaked my interest, but also the many excellent reviews. Similar to gravy and creating a roux, I know how you prepare is often the difference in OK, vs. out of this world. So, I tried it, and it was the best anyone in my family has baked. Not just for my taste, but my wife and daughter who love chocolate chip cookies. It stays soft inside, but is crispy as well and the texture is just awesome. The only difference for me as that I did not have unsalted butter on hand, so I just used salted and it was still excellent. Another item is now I have made 2 batches, and both times the batch was dry enough where it crumbled. This seemed odd, so I added a couple teaspoons of water until the consistency of the batter matched pie dough. I imagine I could try milk as well, but it is such a small amount I am not sure it matters...
Can i just say how amazing this recipe is! Seriously I've tried like a dozen of recipes in the past year and everytime they don't end up like the ones you buy in bakeries! I had seriously sworn off making cookies and redirected towards baking other things just to avoid the frustration 😂 but your recipe is insanely good, I doubled the measurements because I was making it for 5 people and made it late afternoon, the next morning none of it was left! I think the secret ingredient in this recipe is the browned butter it's a game changer not only does it enhance the flavor but it also makes a huge difference why the cookies end up flat in the oven and THE TASTE I can write sonnets on how good the butter complimented the dark chocolate flavor I would definitely make this recipe again, it's gonna become my staple go to cookies recipe 😍 thank you so much for sharing it with us!
Tried making cookies for the first time and it was a hit! The butter took a while and I was kinda impatient. I doubled the recipe but only added 1 cup of sugar and around 240 grams of Choc chip and it was perfect for us. Thank you so much for this recipe❤
I made this recipe for the second time today, I made a double batch. These cookies are so good! Crispy outside and soft chewy inside. I recommend this recipe! I have been sending this video to family and friends. 😊
This is my second time making these. My fiancé fell in love with these, now we will never go back to store bought. So good!! I use a 2 TBSP as my scoop and it makes about 15 nice sized cookies
This is my first ever successful cookie recipe! I added chocolate in the centre for the molten choc filling, they’re so magically perfect. Mummy approved the sweetness because i reduced sugar to 75g. Thanks a lot for this beautiful recipe!
Just have to tell you I made 3 batches of these cookies for my friends/family as part of their gifts and everyone LOVED them and asked for the recipe. Literally the best chocolate chip cookies I’ve ever had. Will never try another recipe after this one

*Ingredients:*
½ cup butter
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup dark brown sugar
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp salt (kosher)
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 1/3 cups AP flour

*Instructions:*
*aim baking soda into pool of vanilla to activate baking soda*

The baking soda is gonna activate anyway. You don't need to aim it into the vanilla extract.

I made these cookies for my family, they turned out perfect! first time my chocolate chip cookies were crunchy on the outside and chewy and soft on the inside! They also for once did not actually turn flat! For anyone debating wether to make these cookies or not, I highly suggest it.
I personally made a few tweaks:
I kept the exact recipe but I changed the amount of sugars to
75 grams of white sugar and 85 grams of dark brown sugar
Turned out perfect! :)
tip: before u put them in the oven, put it in the fridge for 1-2 hours, it makes them very soft and chewy ! if u want it to last soft and chewy for a long time (put it in the fridge overnight) it really helps ! i also recommend to sift the sugar before putting it inside the batter so that the batter is more smooth and when u bite into it there wont be any clumps! (if its sticky its fine)
Question, do you roll it in balls before putting it in the fridge or let it be then roll after freezing? And after freezing do you cook it instantly pr let it rest for a few mins?
@@TinTonTooKok i prefer to roll it in balls before putting it in the fridge, and after that, i cook it instantly so it turns out nice and chewy !

Try using bread flour for the chew but be sure to sift it so it’s not heavy. I did that and mine had the perfect texture
@@vressentials i reduces the sugar by half and i still found it sweet
Made these cookies today and it came out so well! I’ve never succeeded in making cookies that have a crisp surface but still soft inside and was really surprised when my cookies came out perfectly the way I want them to. Was afraid that the cookies will be too sweet after reading through the comments, thus I used 50g of white and brown sugar and the sweetness was just right for me. Thank you so much for this recipe, will definitely refer to this recipe only from now on
An update for those who don't like very sweet cookies:
These were sooooo good.
Does it affect the texture? Does the edges still crisp?
@@floppydisk9541 I generally prefer soft, chewy cookies, and that’s how this turned out. The edges are just slightly crispy, but maybe they may have been crispier if I let the cookies bake for a couple more minutes!
Thank you for sharing ur experience
Did you also adjust the butter?
@@Lizthegreat Nope, I didn’t!

Really appreciate that you explain WHY you incorporate certain ingredients and HOW they impact the results! 👌🏼
Try is out guys, you would not regret

I've made these cookies countless times since watching this video... and let me tell you! They are the best chocolate chip cookies out there! I memorized the recipe by my second time because it is so simple (yet absolutely divine) My family goes bonkers for these. And they are SUPER easy to make!
*Some tips I picked up:*
Wonderful juxtaposition in your mouth!
how long do you cool the butter? My cookies turns out flat but still good.

For all my fellow METRIC / GRAMS lovin folks ..here’s my take on this recipe
I’ve updated this since first posting with amendments that gave me an even better 🍪
90g browned butter made from 113g unsalted butter (I made mine the previous day so it wasn’t melted just soft)
75g white sugar (I used caster/superfine)
75g light brown sugar
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla extract
190g plain flour (or 95g cake flour and 95g bread flour)
1/2 tsp baking soda /bicarbonate of soda
1/2 tsp salt (I used fine pink Himalayan salt)
100g dark chocolate chips (it was all I had lol)
I would have definitely added 150g -175g
Sprinkled a few with sea salt flakes
175c for 10 - 12mins
I used a kitchenaid stand mixer...butter and sugar first then added egg and vanilla.
UPDATE: cookies were delicious baked straight away but they were phenomenal when I left the dough to chill for 24 hours
I think the brown butter definitely takes it to the next level... delicious!
THIS IS THE BEST CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIE RECIPE IVE EVER TRIED. I say that with all capital letters because i bake cookies almost every week so I like to try a bunch of recipes to see which ones I like. And what caught my attention is the brown butter.
These were SO GOOD! Highly recommend, my whole family loved them, they were crunchy outside and had a soft inside. The cookies are thicker and so good
I agree with everybody.
Who’s baking this, June 2024💥🌷🤍

I thought the butter was going to be a challenge but it ended up going better than I expected! The recipe was easy to follow and aside from my oven being weird needing like 10 extra minutes to actually cook all the way, this will be my go-to recipe. I just bought a cookie jar the other and I cannot wait to fill it up with these bad boys!
Not that theres a shortage of comments endorsing these cookies but they're so good I had to give mine too.
This is def THE recipe for chocolate chip cookies everyone, go make them 👏👏🤤
Amazing!!! ❤️❤️
Beautiful cookies just the way I like them cannot wait to bake them thanks for the recipe

Just tried this recipe, they were the best cookies I've ever made. Definitely would recommend trying it out, super chewy and crispy, they were perfect!
Did you pre-heat the oven to 350? She didn't mention if she did
Jazmynn V preheat at 350 and bake cookies for 10-12 minutes :)
Huhu i accidentally put baking powder instead of baking soda.. is it ok?
So GOOD! I did put them in the refrigerator for 15 minutes. Had to bake for 15 minutes…turned out fantastic. Looked and tasted like I got them from a bakery! Thanks for a perfect recipe!❤
Watching this while fasting for Ramadan 😩🙃
Ann Estrella same!!😆
Same😩
Ann Estrella Lmao omg me tooo. My mouth is watering
Genius
Ann Estrella same 😆🙏🏼
By far the BEST recipe I have tried . You can make it all in one bowl instead of separate bowls for wet and dry ingredients, and it smells amazing as soon as your start making it !!! And it’s the prefect ratio of chewy and crunchy 🤤 Though , I would lessen the level of sugar because it was a little too sweet for me , even though I have a sweet tooth 😅
i tried it with one cup of sugar and it was too sweet. Just made some right now with half a cup sugar, and they turned out soo good!
I imagine I could try milk as well, but it is such a small amount I am not sure it matters...
she meant to say salted. she clarified this in the other video and she was holding salted DURING this video.
Yup indeed!! These are the absolute best and simplest! I've tried many recipes and these by FAR ARE THE "BESTEST" Thank you!
So glad to hear!! 😘
I think the secret ingredient in this recipe is the browned butter it's a game changer not only does it enhance the flavor but it also makes a huge difference why the cookies end up flat in the oven and THE TASTE I can write sonnets on how good the butter complimented the dark chocolate flavor
I would definitely make this recipe again, it's gonna become my staple go to cookies recipe 😍 thank you so much for sharing it with us!
I reduced the sugar content SIGNIFICANTLY in my cookies, and they turned out great!
how much did you reduce it by?
Tried making cookies for the first time and it was a hit! The butter took a while and I was kinda impatient. I doubled the recipe but only added 1 cup of sugar and around 240 grams of Choc chip and it was perfect for us. Thank you so much for this recipe❤
I made this recipe for the second time today, I made a double batch. These cookies are so good! Crispy outside and soft chewy inside. I recommend this recipe! I have been sending this video to family and friends. 😊
2:56 - there's a smiley face on the spatula :3
Happy spatula 😊
I made these are they fantastic. They have a nice crunch, chewiness and they melt in your mouth. 🥂🤯
what heat did you use top or bottom?
