@@lliamthrumble GTX 1650 Super, YES and if you already bought it when it was $169. But if you are talking about the non-Super, forget it, that one is a JOKE. Even Steve panned that card, look it up.
Right now, you might as well wait for NVIDIA & AMD to come down the pike with an entry level Ampere/RDNA2 GPUs, as these old cards are not being stocked and thus are being driven by scalpers looking to screw the inexperienced out of their money.

@@lliamthrumble he didn't really pan the Super version, there's more videos where Steve ought right praises the Super over the Non-Super and why he holds the line on ever recommended the non-Super because it's a stupid release.
Nowadays the GTX 1650 Super, which I have also, the Gigabyte OC one, to me it's the same as it was since release. I wouldn't buy it today because there's a good chance you are going pay scalper price over it's suggested retail price of $169.
Might as well wait to when NVIDIA puts out a RTX 3050 line of cards, or AMD release the RX 6500 line of cards, those will be MSRP, versus the older generation cards that are not being re-stock, not being produced, and if available are in 2nd 3rd hand markets being scalped.

Whats weird about that? Ofc unstable product will drop in price. The drivers were insanely bad. I upgraded my 1060 6 gb to 5700 and i returned it after 2 weeks. They offered me nvidia 2000 GPUs but i refused since i think they were bad buy compared to pascal in terms of price to performance. But yea, AMD drivers were atrocious. Still running 1060 6gb paired with ryzen 2700x. Its fine for 1080p monitor that i have. Will wait for normal prices and probably go with 3060ti or 3070 and get new 1440p monitor. But yea, nothing surprising about 5000 series dropping that low when a lot of people had problems with them and for a looooong time. It took AMD almost a year to iron out most of the problems.

@@NovaDoll it was really bad. AMD fanboys are like "but i never had problem so its just haters". Drivers alone ruined 5000 series which was really bad move from AMD since rtx 2000 series didnt bring that much more performance compared to pascal. If AMD for once had normal drivers, they would have been great with sales in last gen. Ah well. I am glad i could even return the GPU. Last gen was disappointing from both AMD and Nvidia. These new gen GPUs look solid but miners and scalpers are killing us. We will have to wait half a year at least.

    • @juzujuzu4555
      @juzujuzu4555 3 роки тому +10

The drivers were not the reason. There was hardware level bug that the drivers finally fixed. Random hardware level occurrence is one of the hardest things to find and patch, but luckily they got it patched.
Otherwise AMD drivers were great. There was no problems with other cards, or no more than with Nvidia. And AMD driver stack is much better in my opinion than Nvidia's ancient driver software (though the drivers are stable and well optimized).
AMD drivers pretty much always get extra 5-10% vs. what Nvidia get after the launch. Nvidia puts lots of man power to get the drivers as optimized as possible on the launch, as the majority who buys graphics cards look the launch day benchmarks and base their decision on that. Now with RDNA2, which is one of the most radical architectural changes we have seen, I expect AMD to gain even more vs. Nvidia. With large cache, and multitier caching, there's better opportunities for optimization. I think 6800XT has already gained 10% more than 3080. And obviously AMD getting RDNA2 in consoles, and also on Samsung phones, will get games and engines optimized to RDNA2 more than before.

That said it definitely was the best deal of last gen, though driver issues really hurt it bad. Its the biggest reason i didnt go with it and just got a 2060 and decided to wait for ampere and RDNA2(lol bad move). I could have sold my 5700XT, a card I'm barely using, during the stupid prices months (which really are ongoing). I did not for three reasons: 1) In today's environment, a decent backup card is more valuable than cash, 2) I don't want to add fuel to the GPU price inflation fire, and 3) It's not a highly prized version. A blower style 5700XT doesn't draw the same interest as, say, the Pulse or ROG version. Where as that aside big navi is QUITE ideal for AAA gaming or 4k gaming with "adaptive sync" as a major build aesthetic/use case....i find myself liking g-sync more for those twitch shooters and PVE hack n slashers that are very dodge/parry heavy....and racing sims/arcades

After multiple years on the market now, we're up to something like 55-60 games that support DLSS(and small handful are still using 1.x, which might as well mean they don't support DLSS). That's NOTHING. As far as I'm aware, I still don't have a single game in my library that supports DLSS.
Actually, I take that back - 'Mechwarrior 5' and 'Mount & Blade II' have gotten it now. And they both have such mediocre graphics that, well, what's the point? Use it if you have it of course; but the rest of us aren't missing out on much. Maybe M&BII sees a benefit with larger battles? I don't know, haven't played it in a year(trying to avoid getting burnt out before they even release it in full) so I don't know if they've made any big strides in performance with high unit count battles.
Lets be real - you're an outlier if you have a lot of games that support DLSS. It's an incredible feature, but it's hardly a selling point if you don't play anything that features it. I mean 55-60 games over multiple years, that's nothing.

Hey guys I appreciate the comparison, I just want to note here that it seems like you are comparing a Powercolor Red Devil 5700XT with a Msi Gaming (or gaming X, not sure) 2060 Super, the former being mid-high end and the latter being one of the slowest 2060 Supers on the market. I own an Aorus 2060 Super and obviously there is a difference in these models when you take in to account binning and OC/removal of power limits, but also there is some significant variation at their stock speeds. Just a disclaimer, I am not "team green" or anything, but a comparison between similarly statured cards could make for a more representative comparison. It's obvious the 5700XT would still be faster on average, but still the Gaming X has a core clock of 1695 (+45mhz) or 1650 (+0mhz) for the non X, whereas my Aorus has a core clock of 1845mhz (+195mhz). The Red Devil, similar to my Aorus, has significantly increased clocks over reference.
This is all moot if the benchmarks are of the reference cards themselves, but it's just that you're showing the third party models throughout the testing phase. Forgive me if I missed some note about the exact models that were used.

The 5700 XT was a great investment with really decent performance. Bought for $460aud two months after launch. Sold it for $950 on eBay recently and purchased a 6700XT for $1100. Don't think I'll see that upgrade path anytime soon again.

@@odizzido I guess it really depends on what games you play. I’ve played plenty of RT and/or DLSS enabled games since I got my RTX 2070 in 2019 (Cyberpunk 2077, Metro: Exodus, Control, Black Ops: Cold War, Shadow of the Tomb Raider), but if you don’t play big AAA games, then it’s easy to see how you wouldn’t have played anything that supports either.
Even then, RT is a bit of a mixed bag depending on how it’s implemented. Some games, like Cyberpunk, Control, and Metro use RT to great effect and in a way that improves the visual experience in a big way. Others, like Cold War or Tomb Raider, have lacklustre implementations that aren’t discernibly different from the purely rasterized version.
Generally, I find that ray traced global illumination (used in Cyberpunk and Metro: Exodus) always makes a game look much better, but RT shadows (used in Call of Duty and Tomb Raider) generally aren’t noticeable (unless you’re stopping to stare at them closely) and you might as well just leave them off and take the extra frames. RT reflections (seen in games like Cyberpunk, Control and Battlefield V) are more of a mixed bag and depends on the aesthetic of the game. In games like Control and Cyberpunk (to a lesser extent) where there are lots of reflective surfaces across the environment, it can be very noticeable. In a game like Battlefield V, it tends to fade into the background and not be worth the performance hit.
      That’s just my opinion though.

    • @RyTrapp0

There are still only 55-60 games that support DLSS, and even less that support RT(and, BTW, LTT has a video blind testing people to see if they could notice the difference between RT on and off - basically everyone failed to notice the difference, soooo). That's literally insignificant, that would be insignificant in the console market, nevermind the absolutely massive PC market. It's not even a drop in the back; it's an ant tear drop.
If you play games that support it a lot, then you would probably be dumb not to get an RTX card. And, if you don't, you would probably be dumb not to get the faster RX cards. With only 55-60 games over a couple years, how many of those do people actually have in their library? Is it worth giving up performance in games that don't support DLSS just to gain performance in the handful of games that support DLSS? That's a hard argument to make.

The miners are dumping cards. The RTX 2060 has a high price atm because it can play all games. The 5700xt is most likely a mining card, losing value. The 5700xt is basically unable to play DXR titles. The only spin is that Metro Exodus enhanced edition which is DXR only. Is the only game so far that a 5700xt cant launch.
If you look at the top game for player count a RTX 2060 or a 5700xt is enough. The RTX 2060 has DXR support which is the game changer at the low end. That allows you to play 1080p DXR @ 60fps with DLSS. The 5700xt cant do that, its outdated. If you need a gpu wait, the prices are droping. Get a good card once the shops get stock. $400 on a 2060 or 5700xt is a waste of money. If you want to play current AAA games only get a 2060 if the choice is 2060 vs 5700xt. You get DXR and DLSS support. Its why the 2060 has such a high price.

Amazing, from what I recall being a $400ish card around that time. Remember how laughable a $1000 2080ti was costwise? Funny how that has become 'normal' now for midrange cards if you can even find them and the top 3090s are closing in on double that.
