Metro exodus: Global illumination SOTR : Shadows Battlefield : Reflections MineCraft Beta : All three Cod Mv : Subsurface Scattering Control : Reflection + Ambient Occlusion Quake Rtx : bit of bloom and globe Illumination( not sure )
As an amateur I had to play this video on 2 tab, 1 when rtx on and 1 rtx off but I still notice no difference. Rtx only enhances light reflection, doesnt it?
Thanh Pham I find it’s easier to notice in game on 4K resolution which is very taxing even for my 2080 TI, but the details stand out more especially metro with the global illumination, the other games don’t utilize the tech as much using only the shadows or reflections.
But the good old basic rendering methods used for decades are just as good. Not everything it pathtraced. I'm not willing to spend 30 % more for a little bit more realistic reflections.
Why does Nvidia keep adding RT to competitive games? Imo they should focus on adding it to singleplayer games first because those are the games you actually look at the visuals in.

If you don’t notice it right off the bat that’s fine. One...he shoulda put them side by side and it would be so much better and two..you gotta know what you’re looking for. If you don’t, ray tracing deal mainly with accurate light reflections. It simulates real life light rays by using actual digital light sources instead of path tracing calculations and algorithms. Don’t get hooked on that. What you’re looking for is the reflected images on water surfaces and metallic surfaces. The easiest one to spot should be Minecraft for most people but Imma use the battlefield one. Starting from 7:07 pay close attention to the water on the ground and look at the reflected tree images. Then go to 8:28 and do the same for the next few seconds. The RTX ON images reflected on the water are honestly crystal clear compared to OFF and when it’s off, it just seems like a blur to fill in what’s supposed to be reflected in my opinion. That’s the best way to explain it. If you still don’t see the difference then oh well🤷🏾♂️. If you do...it’s up to you to decide whether this effect is worth the dropped frames. For me it’s totally worth it.
Long story short...ray tracing makes the behavior of light real. Like sitting at the bank of a river and seeing the reflections on the water surface...that kind of real. Without rtx, that same scenario would still have the reflections but it would be no where as detailed or even accurate considering variations in the intensities at different spots. Basically blurry

Everything looks the same in almost every game except in minecraft and quake and only in minecraft is it really noticeable. Even in quake the only noticeabke changes are in the shadows and bullet light oh and some water. That's it... But overall in 99% of everything its still the same dam thing and nothing too noticeable unless youre mr. Bean a perfectionist weirdo that wants to look into every single pixel to find the difference then you won't see it. I wont be buying any new console anymore only cause they come with ray tracing 😂😂😂😂😂
What the fu.. are you talking about. Of course this is really demanding, but it's new technology and will be used later in games despite it looking simmilar to older techniques.
@@ghostzz. wtf are you looking at? Didn't you watch the same video? Everything looks exactly the dam same except for a tiny little bit more lighting and tiny little better color. What's the dam difference in gameplay, resolution, or fidelity? Nothing. I've seen bigger and better difference between games that have Dolby vision HDR10 and those that don't. In those games i see a true difference but hahahaha ray tracing? SMFH to begin with its not even true ray tracing because its in the very very first prototypes of ray tracing software and hardware. Im excited about the higher frame rates faster loading and more games capable of supporting Dolby vusion HDR10.
@@After_Pasta even now it's really not that great. even worse when you think the cheaper AMD cards can also do it better with the right optimisations. nvidia is making new cards for too much money with no actual reason to get one other than flexing that you got an RTX
Putting Ray Tracing to one side RTX has DLSS 2.0 that boosts frame rates by 50% or more with no loss in fidelity over GTX cards. Nvidia Adaptive Shading which boosts fps by 15% again with no loss to fidelity. These are useless features?? RTX cards have great features but it's taken time for Nvidia to fine tune these to a set standard and developers to implement them into games. We should be seeing many more games with DLSS 2.0 coming out now making RTX cards perform much better than GTX cards
i remeber linus giving crap to the rtx 2060 super saying its not a good card because 4k with ray tracing is not good well no duh the rtx 2060 is really meant for the 1080p crowd it can do ray tracing at 1080p just fine
So heres the thing right, the reason RTX looks so much better in older games is because the textures arent as demanding and they overall require lesser hardware rtx can be applied to Full effect, and these games have basic dynamic lighting, if dynamic lighting at all so of course adding a super advanced dynamic lighting system will change the whole game, modern games require more powerful hardware so adding full ray tracing will kill anything short of a nasa computer, raytracing is faster than the path tracing seen in modern games, and its more accurate so while watching separate clips it appears to have no difference, side by side there is massive change, especially if you know what youre looking for, which i am in no way smart enough to talk about, but it’s similar to blue ray vs dvd, on separate occasions most people cant tell the difference between the higher res and higher frame rate blue ray offers but side by side and its night and day
This is a good test and setup for running these games now (I think Minecraft will chug more outdoors though?). Next year I'll look at laptops that give this level of performance or see what's next with Intel below 14 NM and Nvidia's Ampere for a full system build - have a GTX 1060 and will skip over a gen for my desktop.
Many people are saying they don’t see much difference and they aren’t wrong. Ray tracing is still a maturing technology and requires developers to learn to better implement it. The effects will become more and more apparent in the near future. Games will look more natural and life like, giving a more immersive experience. It’s a big milestone graphics wise. Also Red dead 2 looks phenomenal because we suspect that rockstar has already achieved something similar to the Lumen in UE5 but we will never know as their engine is top secret.
Can someone honestly say that he sees a real difference besides slightly better looking puddles at the cost of half the FPS of the RTX OFF version ? Minecraft doesn't count, I'm talking about "photo-realistic" games.
After watched minecraft with RTX on , I realized real life needs better ray tracing and it graphic is better than some AAA games at 4k max setting nowadays.
Ray tracing vypadá moc dobře,a nevyužívá jenom fps 60 jak někteří tvrdí. To je úplná pitomost. Záleží na sestavě,jaké komponenty. A rád jsem dokázal poradit někomu,a nelitoval toho vůbec.😎
I'd answer "off" and installing the latest nvidia graphics drivers, if you're just looking for quality then i would recommend installing msi afterburner for monitoring your temps.
I really wish nvidia makes another non-RTX series. Maybe a follow up to 1600 series called 1700 series. And it's a win-win for everyone as the price will be significantly lower for newer cards.
As a console player and rtx coming to the xbox series x, I dont mind playing on 60 fps and it's something to just get used to. Although it may not run at 260 fps with rtx off it'll run 90 fps microsoft put a lot of effort in making rtx usable in 60 fps or lower.
Hey dude is your setup prebuilt or did you build it yourself since your pc specs are very good budget and I'd love to have somewhat the same since it can run every game you picked rtx 45fps+ at highest and if a pc could do that not having rtx on get still atlot of fps so if you don't mind telling me that would be great
Let me tell you all, this RTX on and off for most games is just like a placebo, doesn't do anything but we still believe it can do something. I only find it very useful in Minecraft.
My case is just an older without any fans, it just has front vents, só zi modded it and installed 2 fans on the side panel. My GPU runs exactly as his does, with side panel installed. Though, I have my fans just directly on front of the GPU
Funny how the only noticeable differences were in Minrcraft and Quake. Mincraft being a game with intentionally made pixelated graphics and blocks, then you have Quake, a game made in 1997. Lmao i even tried quickly going back and forth from RTX on and off, still couldn't see a difference all though it may of helped if you put the vidoes side by side.
With Metro Exodus RTX2060 Super ain't great with 1080p Max settings RTXOn but run good with RTXOff you need at least 2070 Super for 1080p and 2080Ti for 1440p, and RTX3000 series for 4K+

I'm guessing since its a demo, so its still under polished... Every other RE runs over a 100 fps at ultra settings my rig...
So I would suggest you buy an RTX(once its available and see the difference yourself).. youtube video's cant really help that much...
is it me or watching videos of expensive cards which you don't have, makes you feel happy? 😂
In the GPU field, this is cheap as hell, high end cards cost like 2 or 3x this

I’ll get an RTX card when:
1. Price to performance is actually favourable
2. RTX doesn’t tank performance
So maybe next gen, I’ll stick to my 5700xt for now though
Same her i buy only a RTX card for 300-400€ , RTX 3000 card when over price bye bye nvida I can wait or buy RDNA 2 when better prices .
Control's screen space reflections are truly awesome
"Metro" looks very strange without RT run AFTER with RT.
To me metro with rt looks a bit more atmospheric I guess.
Metro exodus: Global illumination
SOTR : Shadows
Battlefield : Reflections
MineCraft Beta : All three
Cod Mv : Subsurface Scattering
Control : Reflection + Ambient Occlusion
Quake Rtx : bit of bloom and globe Illumination( not sure )
To be honest, I don't see any difference at all. In dynamic battles this is not relevant at all

Thanh Pham I find it’s easier to notice in game on 4K resolution which is very taxing even for my 2080 TI, but the details stand out more especially metro with the global illumination, the other games don’t utilize the tech as much using only the shadows or reflections.

Учитывая сколько стоит сегодня игровой компьютер последнего поколения, задумаешься.. А можно ли от таких игр получить удовольствие соразмерное заплаченных денег?
Considering how much the latest generation gaming computer costs today, you’ll think about it. Is it possible to enjoy the proportionate amount of money paid from such games?
Я вот тоже призадумался. Не выгоднее ли иметь довольно средний ноут/ПК. А если уж очень хочется поиграть - взять приставку...
Whats the total build cost of this specs? Nice video 👍

I don’t really see a difference, anything specific I should look at.
Mostly lighting and textures and the little details to make it look more immersive

this just shows how little rtx matter. its just too expensive for this little of an effect.
Im actually very surprised, the 2060 super really is quite good
Everything looks the same in almost every game except in minecraft and quake and only in minecraft is it really noticeable. I wont be buying any new console anymore only cause they come with ray tracing 😂😂😂😂😂
luis casillas consoles? What do you mean?
Metro Exodus is game worth Ray Tracing.
britannia 5050 yes, I just finished that game... the graphics were beautiful.
Very nice video, what monitoring program do you use, please?
Msi Afterburner
RTX is literally the most useless feature evver in all games EXCEPT for minecraft, but then shaders exist which is basically the same.
I think you are talking too early. Games will become more realistic step by step. This is just another step.
@@After_Pasta even now it's really not that great. even worse when you think the cheaper AMD cards can also do it better with the right optimisations.
nvidia is making new cards for too much money with no actual reason to get one other than flexing that you got an RTX
Have u heard DLSS 2.0 is storming in to newer games?
RTX is lovely on BFv and modern warfare on ultra with 60+ fps and no drops.. Don't be jelly.
I appreciate the unbiased nature of this video. Just raw data and Gameplay. Didn't expect the quake RTX at the end.. very fun.

the only difference i can see is in minecraft lol
seus ptgi shader is so much better)
So heres the thing right, the reason RTX looks so much better in older games is because the textures arent as demanding and they overall require lesser hardware rtx can be applied to Full effect, and these games have basic dynamic lighting, if dynamic lighting at all so of course adding a super advanced dynamic lighting system will change the whole game, modern games require more powerful hardware so adding full ray tracing will kill anything short of a nasa computer, raytracing is faster than the path tracing seen in modern games, and its more accurate so while watching separate clips it appears to have no difference, side by side there is massive change, especially if you know what youre looking for, which i am in no way smart enough to talk about, but it’s similar to blue ray vs dvd, on separate occasions most people cant tell the difference between the higher res and higher frame rate blue ray offers but side by side and its night and day
metro exodus and english language (something horrible)

As a console player and rtx coming to the xbox series x, I dont mind playing on 60 fps and it's something to just get used to. Although it may not run at 260 fps with rtx off it'll run 90 fps microsoft put a lot of effort in making rtx usable in 60 fps or lower.

Funny how the only noticeable differences were in Minrcraft and Quake. Mincraft being a game with intentionally made pixelated graphics and blocks, then you have Quake, a game made in 1997.
