      Hi Jade. The main synths are listed in the title - Waldorf Iridium, and Novation Peak, which both sit on the desk either side of the Ableton Push 2 controller. Native Instruments S88 mk2 is the keyboard. Oxi One sequencer with the blue square/lights on the desk to the left of the computer keyboard, while above that is are the Grid controllers used for fading in/out tracks. The FX pedals at the back are MS 70CDR, Microcosm, DittoX4, Big Sky, Timeline and El Capistan. All other sounds are coming from various soft synths and sample libraries running on Bitwig Studio.

    This might be my favorite yet. Wonderful transition from the ocean waves to the sequencer fade-in at 1:12...I believe I might have mentioned before that I took my TD collection to Ocean City and enjoyed the sound of the ocean from my balcony at night while playing favorites like Ricochet in the background. Meshed together perfectly, as this did.

    This reminds me of the stuff that my dear friend Richard Souther did back in the 80s and 90s. "Heirborne" and "Innermission" in particular.

    Any suggests on where to start for people who are interested in getting into making electronic music? I'm really fascinated with this kind of music recently but it looks so complex and intimidating and a ton of gear. I have a laptop and a cheap midi controller and that's it. I do have some decent knowledge of recording and music but almost no experience using analog synths.

    • @stateazure
      @stateazure  2 роки тому +2

      I'd personally just stick with software to begin with, most of this track is just that, except for the two synths on the desk, but that's only two layers out of many that are soft synths. You don't need a ton of gear, all it will do is slow you down and make the entire process more complicated and frustrating. I wouldn't even recommend a ton of soft synths either, just a few good ones, and a good DAW, that's all (well, depending on the power of your laptop). A good MIDI controller, audio interface and nice pair of headphones is all the hardware you need. If you must have an analog hardware synth, the Novation Peak that I use here is highly recommended.
