What awaits over the horizon when you leave your home valley? For this second large-scale test, we’re going on an adventure!
Gear up. We have revamped and introduced new statistics for all gear and consumables in the game. With hundreds of items to mix and match, you’ll have more flexibility in crafting your own role.
It’s dangerous to go alone. Denizens of the world will now present a real challenge. Don’t wander away from home without a party and the proper equipment.
Master your weapons. We’ve added new spells, combat abilities and weapon types. Keep an eye on their durability! You don’t want them to break when you need them most.
Welcome to Fight Club. Divine peace doesn’t extend to Lyonesse, our new province. Enter here at your own (mortal) peril if you’re willing to try out our first iteration of PVP.

This game has a big learning curve, as a newbie I'm not planning on much beyond baby steps for this alpha -- I've had more fun and progress moving to one of the new shards with much less people. Tons of boars and lots of resources. Met some nice people even though there are fewer of us. Folks should really plan for a ramp up period before trekking off into the harder areas. That said I'll be joining early access as soon as it is at the stage that buildings won't be wiped.
Meanwhile I've spent three days running up and down rivers looking for clay to build my first foundation.
My first alpha since I wasn’t able to get into the first alpha but I’m loving it! Progress felt really slow in the beginning as a solo player BUT I’m enjoying the grind even though I only play casual but coming back daily to see my build progressing has been so satisfying! When I first joined I saw the Golden City and man it looks good! Although I love to play as a solo among large clans. Keep up the good work!
Glad you are enjoying it! I really like the progression curve it's a slow burn but when you advance you feel it! Feel free to stop by the city and use our higher tier stations or barter! You might be able to get some good gear just by trading for ore!
@@eltariiTrue! Everyone nowadays wants everything to be instant so this is a good change of pace. I’m going to stop by today as I’m having some trouble crafting the iron chopping axe, I’ll barter around to see if anyone wants to trade something for an axe.
I love the visuals of the game, but after 12 hours I can’t get past the terrible combat and gathering animations. Is it turned off for Alpha? Like not the focus of this test?
Nope, combat/exploration gameplay is the focus. But animations and feel are both things they know need improvement and are looking for feedback like you have!! F8 and send them the feedback so they can revise!
A lot of people forget that this game is very much so focused on testing, getting feedback, rapid implementation rinse repeat! So your feedback really does matter as corny as that sounds!
@@eltarii cool gtk, I did offer full feedback on the floating feel of attacks and inability to feel contact with the mobs as I hit them. Game looks incredible and housing is VERY fun.

My first takeaway unfortunately is the combat looks absolutely awful. This is alpha of course, but if our primary activity is going to be competing for scarce resources then this needs an insane amount of work. Did we learn nothing from New World?
This has been my first experience with Pax and 100% everything is more fun with a group. We even build our houses together as each wall requires a lot of resources, many hands make light work.
The city is looking really good!
Let me preface my next words... I say this not in hate, but more in criticism because Pax Dei has great potential. Game is good, but bare bones. I found all the best ways to level up including getting to level 30 combat with any weapon in an hour. I was able to keep up with all the guilds nearby in all crafts.
The dungeons were underwhelming as a "dungeon", but i did have fun. Wasn't expecting relics to be basically schematics. (Not that it is bad)
The biggest 3 concerns I have are:
1. The lack of mystery and lore or even npc's. The gamespot interview had the devs saying they want a living world full of mystery and unmarked/unguided quests where you have to figure everything out or have bosses you have to google how in world history the beast was killed in mythology.
2. The cost for building materials for the basic foundation and walls when most players seem to want to build solo and on top of spawn nodes for mats.
3. Past leveling, crafting, relics what does the game offer in longevity? (I do know it is alpha) Shangri-la Frontier is a great anime for reference on incredible ideas to create longevity for games like this.
Spent about an hour and 15 minutes running around to find impure iron nodes. Found a grand total of 4 of them in an unpopulated area.
Quickly realized that there was absolutely nothing else to do besides fight an occasional boar or deer.
Such a big world for it to be as vacant as it is.
If you do a video showing of some players/clans creations should definitely come to annwyn salias and the surrounding areas everyone has been working like crazy

#3 is a daft suggestion. You don’t get anywhere without a raft of reasonable skills. Sure specialise in one but you need multiple to make things.

Too much focus on houses, weak combat system with dominant melee classes. I hope combat system improves with more diversified specializations and skills animation.
Combat most definitely is and will continue to improve. In my talk with the devs they explicitly said they are not happy with combat but are looking for feedback to improve it in the right way.
After all a great animation but no background code to support will lead to a worse off combat system. There are WAAAAAY more spells and abilities planned for the game this is just the minimum viable product that they wanted feedback.
They are planning skill shot magics that do more damage and also making reasons to use lighter armor too. All will come in due time as things get developed out!

We need group/clan skills/buffs/auras: this is what would make specialized classes desirable in a group/clan.
Actually, looking forward to the open world PVP experience when all my buddies can join on release day.
Im in the beta and the game is way too laggy to play, Idk how you have it running so smoothly. My specs arent that bad. (1060 6gb version)
I am on a 2080 Ti with 32 Gb RAM but more importantly an SSD. Your graphics card might be the problem just because the game was optimized for a 2070!

Actually it seems fine with this lol population - just need to venture out of the starting area or into the forest and there’s plenty - also bears 😱
Nobody is going to barter in this alpha, there’s no trading system and no easy way to do this. You’d waste a tonne of time trying to trade
I showed bartering in the video! An exchange of goods that we needed for a breastplate :-) it happens! You just have to have cool neighbors willing to trade!
@@eltarii it’s not an easy thing to do when there’s no system for it, especially as trading involves dumping items on the ground. The alpha is/was short so no time to be wasting
Where is the pvp? Wasn't this alpha to test pvp? I saw videos of people getting an alpha key to do a stream only the first day and that's it, because it is tremendous slow and boring.
There is pvp u just have to look for trouble lol i seen people do pvp already it looks fun
@imperialorc1 maybe you can share a video because I found NOTHING! And the youtubers I followed played 2 days the game and they stopped because is boring they say.

What are these tips??? How is #5 a tip for the game or how to be a successful player? If you are a player the incentive there is that you already have the game installed, and why not tell people to turn off the peer2peer setting? Then onto the single player experience, you CANNOT sit there and say that there is nothing wrong with that gameplay loop when it is literary unplayable to play the game solo, like wtf? AND then continue to say that the faster you join a group the better the game will be for you, so you are literary saying that the game isnt for solo players and they can literary F*** OFF. If this is the mindset of a "proffessional gamer" then the game is dead on release. You can only pick two proffesions and you need more proffesions to even progress in the game. Then onto the combat, like what the FLYING F, how is the game soloable if you cannot kill a DAMN pig on your own?
It is clear that the developers dont give two flying f**** about their playerbase and what they have to say as feedback, CLEARLY we are all consumers this "proffessional player" can leech money from. And if you want your cOnSUmErS to give you money, then maybeeee just mayyyybeeee, listen to the feedback that those people have to say.
"if you are a player the incentive there is that you already have the game installed"? not sure you even know what the word incentive means. most people look up tips and guides WHILE they download the game to get a basic understanding. given how many people restarted their downloads (myself included) thinking it froze I'd say the first tip was absolutely necessary and informative. had i known that it coulda saved me an hour of download time and I'm on a 1 gig connection. i can't even imagine the struggle for people on slow connections. The game also is 100% playable solo and I'm sorry you weren't skilled enough to kill a boar, i guess blocking is hard. I was farming boars for hides in my starter rags using a basic spear before i even knew cloth was a thing and sooo much easier to get. It is factual that playing in a group is by far easier and to be as successful in a limited 7 day alpha as possible you need a group or to find people who can help you with certain things so there was nothing wrong or contradictive in what he said in his video as far as that's concerned. I consider myself blessed that we now have your "professional gamer" opinion and the knowledge that the game is dead on release cause it's not overly simplified to your liking. I think you will find a LOT of the players supporting this title do not want everything handed to them and come from survival craft roots (do yourself a favor and don't play GreenHell you'll be bald by tomorrow). Maybeeeeeeee just mayyyybeeeee if you gave feedback and were working to be part of the solution instead of doing nothing but complaining and being a part of the problem, you could see some of the improvements you would like to see in the game. The game is only in its second public ALPHA phase after all, not some "early access for 10 years alpha that still hasn't had an official launch".
