- Since the previous test taught me a lot about the assisted steering and obstacle avoidence of the Skydio 2 at high speed, I now dare to try it to follow me at 36mph/60kmph.

Peter, I think what sets your drone videos apart from all of the many others is the adventures you find yourself in. Yes, you show and explain what the copter's abilities are, but you do it by engaging in real world, adventurous activities such as this. Those were mad ATV skills in that deep sand too. You came so close to spinning out that one time, and then you recovered. Keep them coming my friend!

Peter, you could put the beacon on another drone and check out if the Skydio2 would follow it. It would be really interesting.... I would like to do that myself but I am still waiting for my skydio2 to turn up in the mail. Cheers mate

Its like a real life 3rd person video game. One of the coolest gadgets I've seen.
Autonomy if this drone is superb. As you gained speed and pulled away from it, it made the right choice and gained altitude to keep you in frame. It's really smart in the choices it makes to keep the tracked object in frame.

Great video. Dont understand what happened at the end. It looks like GPS put ur altitude (y) 50ft to high. But multiple time is ever strange.
What would it do it I told it to track and follow a random seagull from a parking lot?

Thanks Peter. I have seen a couple videos of the Skydio 2 from UA-camrs. It is very impressive. I need to upgrade from my Phantom 3 Standard. Should I get this or the Phantom 4 Pro?
Depends on what you want to do. In following, avoiding obstacles and assisted steering the Skydio 2 is simply the one and only. In image quality and long distance flights the P4 is better.

As I reviewed the part where the drone lost you, I noticed that you had changed the position of the drone to follow behind you but when you did that, the drone was not locked onto you. I am curious at to what you think happened?

If you give the beacon to somebody else - say 1 mile away - can it fly to him?
I guess there will be no connection between my phone and the beacon, so I can't launch it. But with a good LOS and the drone at 1 km distance, I should be able to launch it.

I really enjoyed yr video. When it lost u at the end, manually tilt the drones camera by dragging yr finger on the screen on the app, until its main camera finds u, then it will reacquire u switching back to visual tracking from its gps mode.
Can the drone follow your quad in rising terrain without hitting ground ? ..I want a drone that can follow my quad up mountains ..my old p3s would follow but not rise
Yes it can.
Why does the Skydio 2 seem to change its elevation and distance and position despite you telling it where you want it? There were a few points where it got so close that it was overhead and I know you didn't tell it to do that. I would much rather it be farther away to get some scenic shots with the tracked subject as the guide for the course of the drone. It would be really cool to see the Skydio 2 be able to get several hundred feet out to see the view but still follow you.
It would also be nice to be able to control th gimbal while it's tracking and even the orientation so you could get different perspectives...

The drone lost sight of you but was still connected to beacon thats why it was able to follow you without you in screen shot. I too have probelms with the drone with connection and other little things. Nice video will be watching for knowledge and experiences. Thanks.

Great video man! If you turn off your phone WIFI, the beacon will get better connection with your drone (I red it somewhere), you try it and post the result. ;)

Pretty much. There is little progress there. Lately DJI has only been making simpler and cheaper drones. Not better drones.

Like what? I have explored the P4 extensively and there is hardly anything new to film in my country. And I can't travel at the moment either.
@@NeverMindYourOwnUhm, you can do some normal flights. I'm sure it won't be boring because your videos are always interesting and fun to watch. If you want to, you can do some range tests as well. There is no need to always film something new, you can just do normal flights with your P4.

The footage looks glitchy and over saturated. Could be my phone playback I recon or the fact that its probably 3rd generation footage by the time we view it on UA-cam. Autonomy is killer tho. Nice job.

Please Skydio make a smaller drone just like this for the regular travel consumer.
This one is travel-sized.
You need to learn how and what to do to trouble shoot with your skydio in GSP tracking mode or if it looses you. All you had to do was take it out of motion track into hover and then manual bring it back in and reset to tracking mode again. Also make sure you understand the difference between motion track and fixed track. If you want the drone to go lower you need to turn off your height floor
Lower than 15 meter? The height floor is 2,5. The whole Idea of the beacon is to NOT have to manually do a lot of things while you do some activity.

If only skydio2 was as fully controllable like a mavic2pro. :/

DJI MAVIC MINI is more better.....
Well it tracked good when there aren’t obstacles...my Mavic Air 2 does just as well in same situation and is more useful than just a follow me Drone...Skydio is a follower...DJI is a leader
