own one and absolutely love it! Best all around car I've ever had. coming from wrx to mustang GT to ct4 BW :)
I picked one up about a month ago and I love the heck out of it. My wife isn't a car person and steals it now as much as she can. I use it as a daily and can still go have fun with it. It even fits all my goalie gear in it.

Yep. 4-V Blackwing with a manual. Traded in my wonderful (auto) GR Supra and I have zero regrets. The Blackwing, even with the twin-turbo V6, is absolutely amazing as a daily or when there are shenanigans. Extremely well balanced and it even sounds good!
I have 10k miles on mine and I absolutely love it. My only wish is that the exhaust was louder inside the cabin. Downpipes will fix that but I wish GM let that LF4 scream. They sound so good outside, but you have to fold the rear seats down to really hear anything inside.
I traded in my C6 on a 4 Blackwing and haven’t looked back. It’s the comfort and speed/torque I need. Love, love, LOVE this car!!
The caddie handles like a fucking dream! I thoroughly enjoy taking mine on a twisted back road the engineers at cadillac are some of the best great job GM ! I have a Ats-v!
So I have a 2016 ATS-V 6 SP Sedan, to me basically the same car as the CT4 Blackwing, I only lack about 8 HP, but the torque is the same. I have never enjoyed a car as much as I do when I drive my ATS-V. When The Blackwing's came out, I looked into upgrading to it..but because my car is so similar, I decided against it...besides mine now has 508 HP...LOL...Glad you enjoyed the ride...
Life-long Corvette guy. C3, C5, C7. Got my first Blackwing a 2023. 8k miles on it now, and i absolutely love this vehicle. Throttle response, power band, magna ride 4gen is crazy good. And i really appreciate the seat massage feature. All around an incredible sport sedan.
Great review! I was curious how you would react to the CT4-V Blackwing! But I 100% agree with everything you said. It does have a little bit of turbo lag, but boy its a fun car. And the exhaust is fantastic for a v6. Great review, next we need to line it up against the 1LE!

Traded in a 14 z51 corvette, just turned 1000 miles so not fully broken in yet. No regrets, amazing car, hanldes great all options--getting a massage in the front seats while driving is awesome.
I was looking at a c7 z51 stingray but came across the blackwing.. would you still take this over the corvette?

I love my 4 Blackwing. It’s not just a phenomenal sport sedan, it’s just a phenomenal sportscar in general. Gonna take mine to the track in 2 weeks for the first time. Interested to see how much faster it is compared to the other cars I’ve taken to the same track in the past.
How did it go?
I love my new CT5 V Blackwing. The only thing it is missing is the front splitter and rear spoiler. It did not come with the Carbon Fiber packages. I just ordered them, so I will be installing them soon. I am however, going to MSR Houston this coming weekend for a Taste of the Track event. Preparation for my 2 day Spring Mountain trip the end of July. I can not wait. When is the Corvettes and Coffee in July? Maybe I will come up to Dallas that weekend and you can review the CT5 V Blackwing and compare it to the 4V. ☺

I'm 6'4" and it's a bit tough getting in and out but once I'm in I cannot drive with seat all the way back. Very comfortable.

I came over from a 2019 Corvette ZO6, 7MT and am happy as can be. IMO, hits the performance, luxury, comfort sweet spot. Scheduled for the V Performance academy in December at Spring mountain, NV, looking forward to it.
if you have the A10 practice your paddle shifting, your going to use it the whole time!
fasinating comparison Did u get the Manual or A10? Im cross shopping with the RS3 and even the Acura Integra Type S is in the mix

I just got my ct4 bw and I love it but had to park it for the winter. I picked it up at the manufacturer in Michigan and drove back to Jersey so I broke it in the first day. Drove it for a month and can’t wait for the spring.

Went from a 21 C8. To a CT4 V BW to a CT5 V . Loved all of them. Going to keep 2023 CT5 V for awhile. Also have a Mach-e just because it is charged for free . And I am not putting a lot of miles on Caddie.

Just curious as to why you went from the C8?
@@karlb8069 my wife had back problems. The seat mounted airbag was her assist location to get out. I liked to go on long trips and C8 is not a luggage hauler. The CT4 BW Was a start in the right direction. My CT5 V is just a nice domestic sedan.
I'm 68 and owned two Vette's in the past, a 78' Silver Anniversary and an 89' Convertible. Odd, but nice, that My 24' Sport 2.0 with the Onyx Package has 19' wheels with run flats and blue calipers.
Thinking about one of these for a DD in a year or two. Would be a great addition to the C5 and C7 - and its crazy this car makes more hp than the C7
I have a 2020 C8 Coupe Z51 it has been an amazing car. Considering a CT5 Blackwing or a new C8 Vert with Z51 which would you buy. The 6 Spd wing is a special car.

Excellent!! I just traded in my 19 2SS 1LE Camaro......for a CT4V non blackwing. Why? I'm still questioning that. I guess I worried too much over the Camaro. Low to the ground, front splitter, more challenging to enter and exit, however, this CT4V catches my feet some entering and can be a hassle. The doors are much shorter on the CT4 than Camaro. The interior is much more plush with added features in the Cadillac, but I liked the Recaro seats in the 1LE better. No comparison with the 6.2 vs the turbo 2.7 but that's not the reason for the trade. The 2.7 is respectable with 325 hp and 380 ft lbs but the rpm's need to be up over 3500 to feel it. Banging gears is fun but it often became a bit cumbersome and work. With a new warranty, the wife can now drive if needed being automatic, smoother ride, a bit taller, and still sporty it seemed more practical. I would truly like the BW, but it is a bit out of my range currently. Maybe in another year or two.
I have this exact same car, 2023, same color, 6 speed manual. This car gets!!! So much fun to drive. I named it Menace because it's a menace to society. Cadillac didn’t market this car very well so not too many people know what it is and what it can do. It's the underdog sleeper and I love that about it.
I've been thinking about getting one but it won't be the blackwing and I also decided to wait for the 2024.

You should have taken advantage of no lift shifting.
How is the shifter? Is it as robbery soft as BMW M3 or as stiff as the fl5 type r?
It’s probably one of the best trans out there. I have a 6mt and it feels so beefy and easy to bang gears.
I had a G1 2004 CTSV ls6 6 speed about 15year ago...... 6 speed manual 4 door is GREAT!!!! 6 lug CTSV rims are BAD!!!!!

I have a 22' electric blue loaded , automatic (I'm old + daily commuter) part of me wish it was manual. It's basically a practical, more comfortable Camaro for adults. I look for excuses to run errands & went to CVS the other day just for some floor cleaner. I got a JB4 tune with 3 maps.
Stock -
Stage1 - 50 hp
Stage2- 100 hp
I may add a throttle body + catted down pipes that should push me over 600 hp while adding just a touch more throaty sound.
I have the CT5-V Blackwing 6spd and it's an amazing car. It comes with the rear view camera mirror, which is great for rear visibility.
Are you able to tell me the difference between the CT4 V and 5. I'm coming from a civic si, just want to make a good choice

I absolutely love mine went from Mercedes to a 22 ct4v then purchased a 23 4BW and i will never sell it. Threw a JB4 in it and it’s even faster definitely recommend getting one

I paid to go to Ron Fellows, Spring Mountain and drove the CT-4 Blackwing on the track. I have a 2018 ATS-V as my daily driver. I have a C-8 and would spend the money for the Blackwing when I am ready to trade in the ATS-V. The CT-4 is great for the street or track.

Nice review and great content as usual but a few things must be said here. First I don’t think you had to baby this car as much as you did even though I understand it’s someone else’s but I can assure you it’s really made to take abuse. In fact I dare to say it’s probably more track worthy than your C8 since you have the nonz51 now. As far as price probably didn’t realize is equipped standard with almost everything c8 makes you pay for 2lt and z51 packages and mag ride is also standard so I wouldn’t argue the price much. As far as practicality I mean it has 4 doors and trunk space for what it is is hard to argue the practicality. If practicality is needed sports car sedans are not the option but it is at the end of the day the best of the both worlds for sure… I drive it almost daily and I can’t help but give her the abuse she is built to take. If you get the chance and haven’t done it already go track it to see how it really handles and I guarantee you the weight is not an issue at all. I promise you it hocks and the performance brakes is equipped with will surprise you. Obviously is no corvette at the end of the day it’s still a sedan but a pretty bad ass one for sure…😊

You actually can get a cheaper CT4-V if you forego the blackwing part. It's a couple hundred lbs lighter and around $15k less expensive. Downsides are no manual and only 325 hp/380 tq from a 4-cylinder. Still get an excellent magnetic ride suspension, brembos, and other performance goodies.
You can’t compare a v6 Twin Turbo to a 4 banger single. It’s not even remotely close.

Would this be good as a daily driver?
The two flaws for a daily driver is the deep and heavy clutch and the fuel economy. If you are constantly stuck in heavy traffic on stop and go situations, the clutch on first gear isn't very friendly. You can just hammer the clutch from 2nd and on. I am getting 15L/100km or 16mpg. Other than that, this is a great daily.
Throw a JB4 on it with E30 and you’ll smile from ear to ear 😅

Car and Driver ran this car on lightning lap at Virginia International Raceway. The Car and Driver turned had a lap time of 2:54.6. It is available here in Miami for $61,000 ($70,000 out the door) so I don't know what they added to get the price up to $85,215.
Here are a few other lap times for comparison.

By the way, there is a company that can program your ECM To boost the power by about 100 HP at the wheels. If you want to go crazy, the same company can get you almost 700 HP at the wheels.

Why would enthusiasts prefer this over an M5 , It’s priced same as M5. M5 is much faster and it has option to switch between awd and rwd. And m5 is as much fun as the Cadillac.
Lol, the M5 is in a completely different category and doesn’t have the same price at all. Cadillac CT4 V Blackwing base price $58,995 BMW M5 base price $107,900. It’s almost double the price and is a much larger sedan. Yes it would be fun but not a good comparison at all.

@@sakthishrajendran4264there are two Blackwings, one with a twin turbo V6 and one with a supercharged V8. The V6 is anywhere between $60-70k. The v8 is generally $100k+. The one on this video is the V6. The M3 would be a more fitting comparison.
Some of us who talk to our mechanics say to never buy a German car . My friends with Camaros and Vettes do not have much promblems .
The interior is such a let down. That car would be a 10 if GM knew how to craft an interior.
BlackWing is a GREAT name that came from a wild engine (668hp & 659tq).......BUT its NOT this V6 engine. Caddy using the black wing name on non black wing engines.........sad
