Lot of people credit Ferrari or other manufactures and don’t realize it was the brand that was once called the standard of the world!

700whp is rough to get to unless you're going hybrid turbos, and then it's a waiting game for when your main bearings or rod bearings are going to give up. I'm running on a low boost tune right now to sit pretty in the low 500s. Max effort tune on E85 was 628HP/666ftlbs of torque for about $2k invested between the fuel pump cam, HPFP internals, LT4 LPFP, Flex Sensor, Downpipes and a tune.
wow, great video covering the entire Cadillac v lineage. I don't think were done with the ICE yet, I know a lot of the "environmentalists" are all ready to have the manufacturers just drop all ICE infavor of EVs but when it finally dawns on everyone how much of strain all these EVs will put on the electric grid, and that we are essentially trading one fossil fuel consumption for another(gasoline for coal and natural gas I think manufactuers will pull back on EVs to ICE and hybrids, not to mention all the car companies battling for batteries driving up the cost to produce pure EV further, its going to be clear we are going to need ICE for cheap, long distance transportation for a long time still, especially if people keep fearmongering and neglecting to develop nuclear further.
That 4.2 TT Blackwing could've been the start of something bigger; imagine it in other models like the XTS-V (challenging the X3/X5 M) or in a hypercar format with hybrid tech, America's answer to the 918 Spyder perhaps. Sadly, that will never happen.
I have an XTS VSport and its a great DD cruiser, a basic 93 tune puts it around 450-460hp and it has every option I need including AWD. Its very big and heavy and FWD based though so it is not a handling machine, but considering I got it for $14k with 70k miles I really can't complain about it. I'd love to get my hands on an STS-V with the northstar supercharged V8, those things are so cool.
I'm pretty sure the C8 Z06, and upcoming CR ZR1 and Zora do/will do a pretty good job competing in the super/hypercar segment. Z06 even is a confirmed Ferrari beater when it outran the 458 it benchmarked against.
@@EliteOnTheBeat but if you knew anything about the rear drive Northstar you know that they didn't have issues. I had an sts v and now I share the same car you have as I understand which is a CTS-V sport. I actually sold the STS V to pay down my loan for my v-sport. The only reason I sold that car was fuel mileage
Yeah it is super high torque and low speed engine tho, Chevy didn’t design it bc they where working on the lt6 and lt7 at GM and contracted it out to FEV
Good stuff glad you touched on the v6 lf4. Over that v6 motor is a package deal if you want one of the most potential v6 motors to date. Yeah ill say it. Its a gtr killer.
Great video. I picked up my ATS-V in April and plan on hanging onto it. Such an underrated car with the 6 speed manual. Tune and downpipes change the car, looking forward to it.
The ATS-V typically does 12-14 psi boost, not 18 psi. Boost can go up to 18 psi depending on barometric pressure, so the car makes the same power at high altitude as sea level. When you increase the torque target in the ECU, boost increases to 21-22 psi, and the ATS-V makes 485-530 RWHP (571-624 BHP) on 93 octane with tight gapped colder plugs, intake, and exhaust. The limit of stock turbos is 620-635 RWHP (729-747 BHP) with E60-E85. With upgraded turbos and max effort mods, there are a lot of ATS-Vs doing 725-755 RWHP (27-29 psi boost). Considering the weight it's surprisingly quick.

@@arc00ta I'm in love with ALL V's....Especially the blackwings. I'm not even a mechanic but even i know those northstar engines were TRASH.
I’m curious as to why Porsche flat-6 engines are so strong and reliable…make that video and you have my subscription for life
this man is going places with these videos, truly amazing keep it up.
Such great content! Keep up the great work!!!
This series is elite 👌🏼🔥. Great content bro. Nissans family of RB engines need to be done next 😎
But should he start earlier and do the l series stuff? And then do you include the Australian only trims of rb engines?
Content on the Blackwing V8 is so limited. I was excited when it was mentioned. Keep up the great work!
Thank you for letting us hear the engines and not making us listen to crap "music".
Right it's usually the stupid rap we hear all the time like shoving it down our throats like we all listen to it 😆 🤣 😂
Haven’t watched this yet but I really hope the lc3 is on here I love my sts-v
😉
Seriously some of the best videos on UA-cam!
I really like how it’s narrated. You’re a damn natural at that for sure
All 3 of you guys can't be the first comment!
Im a muscle car guy at heart but the e90's v10 just sounds so good
I am an owner of a 2005 CTS vv that made car of the year! It was 1st year it competed with BMW/ Mercedes & other luxury cars! I bought it new & still own it. It's a beautiful car, rides very well & it loves the hwy & holds the road beautifully! It also made one of the best used cars for 2023! I love this car , diamond white... It's my baby & I still love it...originally it was an expensive car, but it's been worth its weight in gold. I'd buy it all over again 👍
Always a good day when explained is dropped

I originally saw you on tik tok but dude your UA-cam videos are amazing! So much interesting information
I always look forward to the intro alone. It comes off as a secret flim that is super exclusive and documentary worthy..
Your videos are so interesting, fun and informative!! Kick ass and thank you!
I like the animation of the LTA engine at 9:50 showing cold air going in the exhaust ports and warm air coming out of the intake ports.
It's a Hot V design, where the turbos sit in the V of the engine. The animation is correct. Intakes on the outside, exhaust in the V.
Piston cooling jets on the CTSV gen 2 are major for keeping engine temp low. Incredible for making those motors last a long life and make big power.
Bro your fire with these videos your one of the best for the culture 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Your videos are laid out great man. Love how well you explain it. Keep it up !!
