When the engineers make themselves available to inform about a car, it tells you how proud they are of their final product. This car is the last hurrah for V8 performance, and I'm sure that was on the developers' minds when designing the Blackwing. Sure, an EV will smoke this car in a straight line. Once the EV's party trick gets old, you will wish you could blow by somebody with more than the whoosh of wind you created. The sense of satisfaction you get from manual shifting with skill will soon be only available in used cars. Kudos to Cadillac for going out with a bang!
A Super Car in Sedan’s clothing. Almost everything is in this thing to give it almost everything on the road. And yet with a manual, and pure rwd, and of course the howl of over 6 liters, makes a car as technically advanced as a Lucid nearly as connected as a Corvette. Its frankly, incredible.
This car makes me frankly envious that Cadillac is not being sold anymore in Europe. A true masterwork of engineering, and even if it runs on Dinosaurs, this car would be worth every dime and penny. - For us who are not into BMWs or Audis and want a great GT car for long distance hauling in comfort, options are limited in the old world. 100k for a Lexus isn't quite an option, nor a Porsche. Buying a 2013 Tesla that has a borderline ruined Battery Package is neither an option due to the cold weather in the Northern Europe. - One of my favorite intros of all time, another fantastic job Mark & Jack!

Another excellent episode. Magnificent! I am trying not to be sad these types are cars are going away and just appreciating the fact they are with us right now. With that said, if you are a driving enthusiast and you have the means to get this CT5V or the CT4V right now and you don't be prepared to pay though the nose in the future because these cars are modern day classics. Big thanks to the passionate car people at GM for putting their blood, sweat and tears into these cars especially in this day and age. It is one thing to make a car go fast once but it takes true engineering to make a car that is able to consistently perform at the limit and not blow up in your face. These cars with their internal combustion engines and their amazing 6 speed manuals are what dreams are made of.
Thank you both for your hard work on this and the 4, as well as all the others. Looking forward to seeing what you bring in the upcoming year. (Being the fat kid that I am, I loved the donuts!)
My dad recently took ownership of one of these monsters and it's his daily driver with snow tires! He got the automatic which they say is not as fun as the manual, well he doesn't drive a stick and I have drove a stick for years but only in normal everyday drivers. For a guy that has no experience in performance cars I will say the manual would be out of the realm for those not experienced with power. With the auto this car is more than a hand full and will still put a permanent smile on your face and a feeling of god I wish I could afford one. Being a none car guy I can't even describe the feeling this car gives you, all I can say is when you release 670hp with snow tires on there is an immediate lack of grip but the car still points you the right way. Cant wait to try this with the stock wheels!!!
I’m in love with this car. It’s not the fastest on the strip. Yet, I haven’t been beaten off the line or traffic light. I’m in Denver and I get to play with some really capable cars…the look on peoples faces when they can’t understand how your still next to them…haha. The way this this bites, sits and gets through corners just blows my mind. Buy one, then definitely take the included with purchase performance driving school, find the car’s limits in Cadillac’s BlackWing and then be confident in your own. Thank you very much for this fantastic video, Savage Geese is must watch content!!!
It's amazing to think a conglomerate like GM has the ability to make something like this. This is like an evolution of the Chevy SS with ZL1 1LE sprinkled all over it. This will be looked back upon as a rare american vehicle treasure in the next 20 years. Very heavily considering one now. Wonderful video as always Mr. Geese & Mr. Singapore.
My Grandfather Lucien drove a 1st gen CTS V, that thing absolutely changed how I looked at cars forever. Tony Roma & the Team at Cadillac have reinvigorated my appreciation for Cadillac's V Brand with this car. This was every single thing I would ask for. A true dream machine for me, if only I could get one. Thanks for giving me something to aspire to SG. This is the one! The only one at that. Probably will take me 10 years of work but I NEED to own this car.
Great car - Great video with a great deal of research and preparation -The question remains how many units will they sell - Can they sell enough to make a profit or is this a loss leader strategy from GM. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you both for hours of content through which I learned so much about engineering and the business of making and selling cars. Hope you made a ton of money as you deserve every penny.
Used to do the same thing with my brother in my 70 Nova SS we would leave work and I would be screaming thru all four speeds chirping and burning out all the way home and he would just ramble on about his day with no emotion or concern. Thanks for the flashback!!!
I still continue to be baffled how GM can produce something like this, the C8 and other pretty great performance cars, then make piles like the cruze, malibu, equinox and T R A X
Watching Savagegeese is so rewarding to me. Huge thank's for this amazing channel to make this car shine with this incredible production quality. Also, thank's for the engineers that are proud of their work and letting us know about all of it. This is the car of the year and also my dream car.
The goal was to one up the is500 video but the track was wet. Gm asked me to do big poweslides but the track was so wet it didnt work out. When they shipped us the car it came with a extra set of rear wheels so we could obliterate them. The only part of the track that dried out was the skidpad so this was a last minute oh well decision.

I have never commented on a video until now. Best intro ever.🤣🤣🤣
Jack's growing like the channel's quality continues to.
Thank You Gentlemen for another awesome review!! 👍🏻👍🏻 I wish you both a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!
Geese & Mr. Singapore.
Excellent video! Really enjoyed it! Thank you Cadillac and Brembo for the technical support, we appreciate it!
After clicking Subscribe to Savage Geese, I re-discovered my self-esteem and stopped sobbing during couples counseling.
Jack's primal urges took over there. When the silverback wants something, the silverback gets it.
Collaboration from engineers that created a car speaks more to its quality than any review or testimonials combined. Thanks! Awesome work!
Best car reviews on UA-cam. 25 year car veteran.
Absolutely brilliant video! Amazing car!
That was one of the best intro's ever in a car review video on YT
I'd take this over any other V8 sedan or coupe and any German car by miles.
Not many 35 minute videos get a like at 45 seconds in. This one did. As always, beautiful work.
I had 2nd generation CTS-V with 6 speed manual.
It was a fantastic car!
My question--how does the CT5-V Blackwing compare to that experience?
Awesome video! Thanks for the in-depth journey and the vicarious joy of watching you slay tires in this beast!!
Commenting in hopes that the almighty algorithm decides the average smooth brain user on UA-cam needs to see this work of art
Great engineers, but maniacal "bean counters."
Not to mention the “Blazer”…
@@jordansomeone2555 I really don’t think the blazer is as bad as everyone makes it seem. It’s just a bad name and overpriced
@@Suction_ That is true, just an awful use of the name though
Watching Savagegeese is so rewarding to me. Huge thank's for this amazing channel to make this car shine with this incredible production quality. Also, thank's for the engineers that are proud of their work and letting us know about all of it. This is the car of the year and also my dream car.
1. Jack is my favorite gorilla
2. Do you guys have to replace the tires or does GM say you get one pair do what you want?
The goal was to one up the is500 video but the track was wet. Gm asked me to do big poweslides but the track was so wet it didnt work out. When they shipped us the car it came with a extra set of rear wheels so we could obliterate them. The only part of the track that dried out was the skidpad so this was a last minute oh well decision.
When I want a no BS in-depth review of a car you guys are the best! Keep up the great work
This had me laughing out loud for real. Awesome.
As promised! 1 of the only outlets that goes this deep into reviewing this car. Last video of the year? I hope not... Watching your Q&A livestreams in between videos to keep me sane.
Btw that intro: epic.
