Haven't heard this song since the 70s! Shout-out to the keyboards! I saw Deep Purple in 1973, and had forgotten what great musicians they were! Thanks for this reaction and for the memories, guys!
Saw them in 1972 at the International Amphitheater in Chicago. 6th row center. The opening acts were Billy Preston and ZZ Top. What a show! My ears rang for 2 weeks after that.
Unfortunately I didn't make that show, but I did see Pink Floyd at the Chicago Auditorium Theater the year before. The place was only half full because not many people knew who Pink Floyd was. Two years before Dark Side of the Moon. To this day the best concert I had ever seen. I did see a lot of concerts at the Amphitheatre, unfortunately not that one. I still listen to Made in Japan.

I saw them live 2 times and they did this song . Man that was a long time ago but i still remember it like it was yesterday. Crazy, it was in a bassinet with no ear protection and a little blanket to cover it from all the pot smoke . An infant a\in the same building as the worlds loudest rock band. I was pissed off and let them know exactly how i felt about it. What would you do ?
A time when folks were getting back from San Fransisco with rotting flowers in their hair, not knowing where to go while hundreds of people were dying in Vietnam for no good reason. Child In Time was right on the verge, a pivotal song playing on the concience of the folk back then, a divide between the flower-power pop culture and the reality of the moment. The birth of Hard Rock, right there and then. Music never was the same again afterwards.
The crowd was not allowed to distract from the songs back in those days. It was only certain shows, but it was "the man" trying to subdue the masses. I lived this!
i seen them with girl school as openers in 1985 when i was only 15 man now im 52 and my musical taste have not changed heavy metal and my movies to horror movies life is good ps at the concert of deep purple they did not do smoke on the water but it still was a great show

That era was the best for music.
Thanks
Purple is still playing Ian Paice (Drummer) Ian Gillian (Vocals), Roger Glover (Bass) are still there, Don Airey (Keyboards) replaced Jon Lord after his passing and Steve Morse (Guitars - ex-Dixie Dregs/ Kansas) replaced Ritchie Blackmore!
I saw them back in 2019 - they will be touring again in 2022 (Only 3 dates - in Florida before they head to European dates. Maybe back here more extensively in 2023

It may be all for naught - it seems like the. Cruise is off and the theater shows are up in the air.
@@rikconverse8726 we were not going anyway. The band is just not the same without the original guitarist and this singer. (Husband told me all details about the bands past days.)
I love your reactions to the musicians and the great Ian Gillan singing one of the best songs of all-time.
This song gave me goose bumps when I was a teenager back in the 70's .....and still does today.

Great video guys.
Jamal just watching you and the brothers faces is enough to light any room up.
Thank you so for being a blinding human and sharing with us your thoughts
Welcome to Deep Purple guys. D.P. Is widely recognised as one of the most influential groups of all time. They just so happen to be my all time favourite band. 🤘🎸🎸
Когда кто-то хорошо сочинил и прекрасно исполнил, должен найтись тот, кто благодарно воспримет и гениально отрефлексирует заложенную эмоцию...
70's Rock masterpiece. No doubt! 🤘🤘👏👏
Sooo many at that time doing this kinda perfection
We were spoiled
Hey well something was good in this hell hole
I saw them live 2 times and they did this song . Man that was a long time ago but i still remember it like it was yesterday. There was a couple sitting behind us and i could not believe what they did. They brought their new born baby with them. Crazy, it was in a bassinet with no ear protection and a little blanket to cover it from all the pot smoke . An infant a\in the same building as the worlds loudest rock band. I was pissed off and let them know exactly how i felt about it. What would you do ?
I seen Deep Purple in concert and it wasn't nobody sitting keep rocking youg men😁😁 love your reactions. Grandma Katie
the TV show you are thinking of is Greatest American Hero I think
I grew up with this music!
About 14 or 15...lots of grass smoking back then..mind blowing! Wow, that must have been an awesome concert!
Music never was the same again afterwards.
very good analysis! THAT is exactly what that song is about!
That looks like too much fun hanging out and listening to jams.
True artistry by an incredible group of individuals....love this song and all their others as well!!
PURPLE FOREVER
The crowd was not allowed to distract from the songs back in those days. It was only certain shows, but it was "the man" trying to subdue the masses. I lived this!
Con el principio de la canción se me levantaron todos los pelos del cuerpo. Precioso
i seen them with girl school as openers in 1985 when i was only 15 man now im 52 and my musical taste have not changed heavy metal
and my movies to horror movies
life is good
ps
at the concert of deep purple they did not do smoke on the water but it still was a great show
