Unusual band, classically trained heavy metal hard rock with a 💜Child in Time embodies the horrors of war...
This song is a Masterpiece
Deep Purple FOREVER!!!
5 musicians... each a master of his craft
Tha's It. Five monsters!
Cool lady! When I was a kid I saw them 4 times on LSD! Other than Jimi Hendrix Purple probably the best Rock band of all time!
Classic british 70s rock
I love the pause after the end of this masterpiece. That's a perfect first reaction!
Your presence and personality are wonderful. Good luck with your gig. Youre certainly playing some wonderful music.. These guys were my very first live concert. Obviously, I was spoiled after that.
Love your reaction saw these guys in Memphis in 73
"Deep Purple In Rock", from which this song originates, started a new era; the era of Hard Rock. Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath were still dabbling in heavy blues in those days, but Deep Purple opened the can of worms by basing their music completely in rock 'n' roll and bringing it to the next level. A level hitherto never heard.
Agree totally. I was lucky enough to be 15 years old when LZ1 was released and the next 10 years were just full of amazing music from all those bands!!
agreed completely. plus: i would bring early uriah heep into the equation! 🙂
@@geraldherrmann787 Yeah. Journalists always talk about the "holy trinity" of Deep Purple, Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin, but I myself always saw Uriah Heep as the fourth band belonging in that "holiness". Especially with their first five albums. Man, they were incredible. Cheers dude.
I’d say Sabbath started metal music
Check out the song wicked world from their first album 1970
On second thought just listen to the whole thing
It’s a great album 😂
The bassists are always a constant and never get credit
Welcome to my youth. it was a good one
Gillian, Paice, Lord, Glover, Blackmore ... BEST Purple ever !!!
Your expression was priceless..Space Truckin and highway star..
Back in the day people got pretty medicated {cough, cough}, I saw Deep Purple in the mid 1970's at The Boston Music Hall and the smell was really dank, Awesome show
Original music by It's a Beautiful Day from their debut album ( the track is called Bulgaria, also has the song White Bird).
One of the Top 5 Rock Bands of All Time . Original line-Up here . This is 1970 I believe . No Tricks . Just Musicality .
The whole 'Made in Japan' live album, in one shot, alone in a room, in the dark, at night.
DEEP PURPLE, "CHILD IN TIME", Excellent Band, and Music Jam. More... "MAYBE I'M A LEO", "PICTURES OF HOME"..."NEVER BEFORE".
I need to tell you a story about the next song you should react to.
Musicians do not make money from records. The record companies have sleazy accountants who get it all. Musicians get their money from concerts. But they need to sell records to keep people going to concerts.
The Rolling Stones found the answer: build a mobile recording studio in a truck. Record the concerts.
When Les Zeppelin was making an album at a country house named Hedley Grange they borrowed the Stones mobile. The Stones knew very well how rock musicians treat things, being rock musicians themselves. They sent their business manager, Stuart, along with the truck to minimize damage.
Zep was recording an insignificant song, just space filler on the record. It was missing something.
Stuart spotted a piano. It had not been touched in at least ten years. Stuart ran through it one time, remembered which keys were in tune, then sat in with Led Zep and improvised the piano portion of the song.
The thing is, Stuart was not good enough to play for or with other people. Stuart had never played for anyone but immediate family and his piano teacher.
A brief recap:
The piano was at least ten years out of tune
A fourth of the keys were off tune
Stuart had one run through to figure out which keys did not work
He improvised using the remaining keys
While sitting in with Led freaking Zeppelin.
Boogie with Stu. They named the song for him. See for yourself if Stu was good enough to play for other people.
Ian Gillians vocals and the entire band capture the horrors of war in this fantastic tune.
This is 1970 they are killing,no effect clean jaming.🤘🤘🤘
The big Ian G on vocals...The BEST. Deep Purple the legends 🤘
This is my favorite line up for this band. Ian Gillian’s vocals are fantastic. Jon Lord on the keys is always next level, and Ian Pace on the drums is superb. What a band! Check out the live version of “When A Blind Man Cries”. ✌🏼😎
“Y’all.” Yep, that abouts sums it up. (Ritchie Blackmore mind boggling guitarist and same for Ian Gillan vocals and Jon Lord keys.) A different style band, but if you want “live” greatness and a guitarist that Jimi Hendrix admired, check out Chicago’s “25 or 6 to 4” live at Tanglewood, 1970.
You definitely have to be old enough to understand this song. There is no question about there is no music like that today.Definitely a masterpiece thanks for your reaction.👍🌺
Deep purple the best
I wish I could hear this tune for the first time again, that's at least 30 years in the rear view mirror which is why I enjoy reactions to it. The answer to why they are so good is Practice, which coincidently is how you get to Carnegie Hall. Good reaction, I enjoyed this reaction. Get some Black Sabbath in your life, start with War Pigs and work from there.
I've seen this (main) video before. All those lovely people in the studio, waiting for the band to play and they get a full on 100% massive version of Child in Time. Traumatised!
This was at the time of the Vietnam war which makes the lyrics very significant.
You NEED to hear Comfortably numb by pink Floyd
Master Piece from the 70s from the Machine Head Album.
Check out Smoke On The Water from Deep Purple. It's a story song of what happened to them when they were making the Machine Head Album. Have to pay attention to the words there true.
Nice reaction - the audience were told to sit still by the producer as it was a live TV recording - I saw them live several times in the 1970s and it was always wild. Great to see you wearing the purple accessories in tribute to a legendary band.
💜💜💜💜💜
lolz, don't worry, everybody is blown away the first time they see this.
Most people are blown away *every* time they see this.
Genios!!!!
Next Deep purple -Lazy (live 1972) ?
At 7:33 this is what is called the flight of the butterfly that John Lord is playing. If you would Please listen to this song by yourself with the lights low and just relax and fall into the best song every written !
Very good stage shots with the camera and also the sound is perfect . Beautiful shots of the Hammond organ , Genial . This song we have listened at that time up and down, I rather not tell how it was then, no one believes me anyway. Greetings from Heidelberg / Germany
Love to see you react to them doing HIghway Star.
Love you and your reactions !!
Great that you chose this song, the bands performance in this song is legendary.
Also check out the *"Live in Japan"* version from 1972, slightly different yet just as impressive as this one.
I saw you get the chills.
He also played Jesus, in the stage play, Jesus Christ Superstar. Saw Deep Purple in Seattle, many many years ago. Great musicians all! Great reaction!🥰 (link to ‘Gethsemane’ above).
Ian gillan never performed the stage act..he was only on the original 1970 concept album..in which all that followed tried to copy.
@@ponytrekker8996 I always wondered about that, but it makes sense. Truthfully, I think Ted Neely was a better choice for the stage. Thank for letting me know!😊
@@jonib5881 🤘🏻
DEEP PURPLE, "CHILD IN TIME". Adult music magic. Take your blood pressure medication. Warning: not for immature audiences... More: "SPACE TRUCKIN", "HUSH", "WOMAN FROM TOKYO", "HIGHWAY STAR". The Best part about the whole experience J.T. was. The music of those four decades 60'S thru the 90's. Every song introduced too us, Was brand new. Through these reactions it's fun to see everyone reactions to the greatest music ever. 🎶 ✌❗
Deep Purple was definitely one of the founders of heavy metal. Here's a country music artist for you to give a listen, if interested. "Jamey Johnson - In Color (Official Video)"
I like your Deep Purple Shirt!!!!!
Thank you for listening to all the requests for this song. Most people are stunned by what they see and hear in this video! It’s just incredible. Stay safe and reacting!
The drummer kinda looks like Joey Ramone of The Ramones... But this is one of the few rock ballads that I can mostly sing with. I can't do the falsetto's without injuring myself. Would you like a couple of challenges? Jinjer "Pieces" (the astrological sign) small Ukrainian band out of the death metal genre. And either Band Maid or Love Bites... both are hard rock or light metal from Japan. Either of them I don't believe have a bad song/performance out there. Band Maid interacts more, but Love Bites sings in English... Note: this group is also looking for a replacement bassist; the one that had been one of the founders recently resigned from the group. Miho will be sorely missed. I'm looking forward to seeing reactions to any of these.
3 master pieces, Deep Purple in rock, Fireball, Machine head. You can choose any songs on these albums. After Child in time, may be you could try '' HARD LOVING MAN''.
I love how millennials react to old school music
I will never, ever understand why this version and not the made in Japan one. Mistery of life.
Live version from Made in Japan and then you know what Deep Purple is.
Yup! Even by Deep POurple standards, thats crazy! ...And AWESOME!!
It's standard procedure to not go apeshit in a TV studio. It was allowed in very few programs and even then, you had to keep a lid on it. Its TV production for so the audio levels have to be managed for recording and broadcast.
Cheers!
Insane video, from an insane group!!!! Thank you! New sub here! Brings back memories!!!!
So powetful
Next AC/DC Let there be Rock live 1978 Apollo…another WOW 😊
My dads favorite. this one
You might also want to try Mistreated live at the California Motor Speedway
One of my favs!
stairway to heaven, Bahamian rhapsody, child in time..... nuff said
Your look around the 6:30 minute mark. We've all been there. Commence "rabbit hole" mode. "Lazy" or "Burn" would be suitable follow-ups. Among many.
LIVE!!!!!!!!!!!
Blackmore, Gillian, Glover, Pace...
As already said, Highway Star is calling you from ‘Made In Japan’.
The horrors of the Vietnam war! just brilliant!
Girl wow! Just what the fck just did I hear? R U FR real? OMFG! It doesn't get any better.
eheheh your gaze at 6:41 make me answer to you: "Yes... you are listening to the best live performance in video ;-)" this take all the power that Deep Purple had in their music! you can listen better at it in LIve in Stockholm 1970, the best live ever recorded by Deep Purple
The made in Japan version is the best
This was a live recording for a TV show… way back before AutoTune and other technical ways of cheating….real talent was obvious
New subbie here. Binge watching your playlist. Love the Zeppelin & Yes reactions ❤ "Highway Star" and "Space Truckin'" are great DP tracks. Also, check out Black Sabbath's "Hand of Doom" and "Fairies Wear Boots "🔥🔥 🤘😎
I'm binge watching now. Her reactions are so authentic. As a music lover. I appreciate that
personally i like Lazy...give it a go, JT
Hey Babe, hope it messed u up perfectly! God Bless...
In portuguese:
"O fulano de camisa vermelha* assistiu o show INTEIRO. E ATÉ HOJE não faz a menor idéia do que aconteceu.".
(Está encostado numa caixa-de-som
Suggest 'Strange Kinda Woman' from 'Made in Japan'. Unfortunately no video but you should be able to find the soundtrack.
TV studio audience
I'm 41y old. I am teaching classical guitar for last 18y. I grew up with this kind of music and I watch the music degrade so much in last 10y or so. I mean, compare this to fucking Beyonce, 4 chord shit. I'm talking from a music teacher perspective so you can disagree.
Nice girl! Thanks
Love your love for music!
the screams represent the progression of pain when wounded horrifically during the vietnam war...a soldier watches his friends dy agonizing deaths and hes descibing the pain with the screams
Who's doing this to you????? hahahhahaha jk i love you. Epic Music~!!!!!!!!
Do Christopher Cross "Sailing". Find the live version. U won't regret it
This song is about the Vietnam war the center? Part of the song where everything is going crazy is intended to represent the chaos of war
song 1970 for NO WAR in Vietnam!
What do we do to each other!??! Why!??
Now you have a taste of DEEP PURPLE ,, pretty far out heh?!?!?!
Un mountro

Screaming represents mother's wailing over dead sons
