  • Are you annoyed by too loud gunshots and vehicles in PUBG? In this new guide I'll show you how to setup Voicemeeter Banana as an audio compressor for Playerunknown's Battlegrounds. The gunshots, explosions and vehicle sounds are getting a bit quiter and footsteps a bit louder. This new UPDATED GUIDE works with the newest Windows 10 1809! Still working for Windows 10 1903 and 1909. Use it to prevent PUBG from damaging your hearing.

    Hey guys! If you have any questions, feel free to leave them in the comments and I'll try to help. If your configuration is not working, please upload a screenshot of your Voicemeter and Windows configuration, so I can take a look into it. You can upload your Screenshots to imgur.com for example.

      If you don't want to install any software, you can use Windows Builtin Loudness Equalization. I made a video on how that compares to Voicemeeter Banana compression and how to Enable the feature: ua-cam.com/video/ZBXOT_rwGao/v-deo.html

      @@ERPL_TV I could use a hand with something! Set it up, works wonders for me. However it doesn't capture the audio in NVIDIA shadowplay. I use that to capture clips from kills, but now it has no audio except from my microphone. Any pointers or ideas of what to do there?

      Shadowplay captures your main system audio device and microphone. I'm not 100% sure if this would work, but maybe it works if you enable B1 at Hardware input 1/game.

    Hello! I just got my HyperX Cloud II and it's too loud! I've tried compressing PUBG audio using Voicemeeter Banana and tried using SoundLock to avoid loud sounds. They work ok, but the biggest problem is, everytime a new sound (gunshot, bomb, etc.) plays, the first bit of information gets a plosive and it hurts. It's feels like it has a delay to apply the effects, and you hear part of the full sound information for like miliseconds. I have no idea how to fix this. =(

    Hey man i got the logitech g pro x recently and every time i played pubg the sound was very low or bad. Then i went into the g hub eq settings and maxed everything out and i heard footsteps better however the gun shots were so loud they hurt my hears. I even got a soundlock to fix this issue but it didnt properly work as the audio then got distorted. I then got recommended by dancud the streamer to use voicemeter and i found your video. And tbh man it helped a lot with the loud gun shots and made the footsteps the same which is good because now gunshots dont cover footsteps when im playing. The compression really helped

    I tried this step by step, what I ended up with was a constant Echo, and I was only adjusting the compression etc of said Echo. Don't feel bad this is the only guide where I even got that far, most of them just end up with no audio at all as reasons for settings and intricacies across systems isn't ever delved into. I feel like you guys who stream know how to setup your system but have no clue all the factors effecting everybody elses, or simply do not know how confusing this is to the average person and leave a lot of unanswered questions behind how and what things are. I'd love to understand it but im back to square one. Thanks anyways.

I went to training mode, and if no one else is firing a gun , or if there is no other sounds coming from the map, voicemeter will fade out the ambient noise in pubg until its completely quiet. Resulting in me not hearing any ambient noise in pubg. Until someone shoots their gun again then the sound "turns on" again. The correct result is supposed to be me constantly being able to hear the ambient noise (wind etc.) but for some reason its being faded out? Did I do something wrong in voicemeter?

    1. So, if i used to play with 100% of volume on my headphones and i do this to hear the footsteps better, does it work? or it work for people who uses the volume at 70% cause of the louder shots and by doing this they now can put the volume at 100%?
    2. Does it quieter the vehicle sounds? The long distance shots?

    • @ERPL_TV
      @ERPL_TV  4 роки тому

      Hi Nicolas!
      1. If you used 100% volume to hear footsteps better, you can lower the overall volume with this method. The gunshot volume will get reduced aswell. The variety in sound levels will get evened out by the compression.
      2. The volume of vehicle sounds will get evened out as well. I can hear my team mates quite good while driving. It still is sometimes annoying 😅

      thank you! sadly the ingame sound can only be recorded with Nvidia shadowplay if you select Cable output as the default audio device in Windows. but then ALL your audio gets compressed which is annoying. you would have to select a different audio device everytime you're not playing. Hi ERPL, I've been using this guide for approximately 2 years now, I'm still using voicemeter banana set up the way you show in this video, but since then I've been trying to set up the headset microphone to be louder, I've tried multiple guides, but none of them seem to work along with the sound compression, do you have a guide to set up the mic in voicemeter banana that also works with the sound compression ?

    • @ERPL_TV
      @ERPL_TV  3 роки тому

      Well first of all: Is your actual headset-microphone volume on 100? You have to pay attention to the value set in Windows: i.imgur.com/VKk8srC.png
      If you can't increase it further, then you could try to use another VB-Cable (which costs a small amount of donation to the maker of the software). Then you could route your microphone through that second VB-Cable and increase the volume. BUT the quality won't be great if increasing the volume digitally too much. Probably better to get a different mic :-\

    Deshalb mal meine Frage auf deutsch.
    Ich hab dein Tutorial befolgt. Klappt auch wunderbar.
    Wenn ich allerdings PUBG spiel ist der Wind auf der neuen Karte relativ laut. Das muss aber so richtig?
    Desweiteren, frag ich mich, ob ich Das Tool auch nutzen kann ohne "Hook up level a1 to volume keys". Kann ich dann trotzdem von dem Kompressor etc profitieren, oder muss dieser hacken drin sein? mir gefällt die Windows lautstärke reglung besser irgendwie.
    Nur is die Frage ob das Voicemeeter dann trotzdem seinen Job macht.
    MFG :)

    • @ERPL_TV
      @ERPL_TV  4 роки тому

      Moin! Das Hookup Zeug ist nur dafür, wenn du Lautstärketasten an der Tastatur hast. Kannst du aber auch weglassen. Und der laute Wind auf Vikendi ist ohnehin schon laut, durch den Kompressor wird der Sound dann noch mehr angeglichen auf normales Niveau. Du könntest den Kompressor für Vikendi manuell ausschalten oder reduzieren. Oder es wie ich machen: Kein Vikendi zocken 🤔

    • @ERPL_TV

      Das Kompressor Rad macht dann leise Sounds lauter und laute Sounds leiser. Der große darunter (wenn ich es richtig verstehe, was du meinst) ist der Lautstärkeregler fürs Game.
      Der Windows Regler unten im SystemTray funktioniert nicht mit Voicemeeter. Also du kannst es ausprobieren und auch ohne den Hook benutzen, aber das macht das Lautstärke ändern unnötig kompliziert 🙃
