Another great tutorial. Quickly gets to the point and easy to understand. Saving it to my list for sharing tutorial and troubleshooting links.
Awesome, thank you!
Thanks for the help man, thanks for making it easy to follow
Any time
I was pulling my hair over this issue! OMG! Thank you!!!
You're so welcome!
Great guide man, this worked for me. Cheers!
Thanks!
ty man short and helpful 👌
Is there a way to make the physical inputs 7.1 as well? I am running a dual PC setup and this works great for my main PC but I lose channels coming over from the other PC. I have two routes coming over, one to AUX input which is available to do 7.1 but the other comes to physical input 3, which drops to two channel. Would I benefit by moving to Potato over banana? Or is there another way?
Great turorial, ty for u help.
Nice and simple, cheers
Hmm. I think I've finally figured it out. I have an Astro A40 and Sound Blaster Z. Had to have my voicemeeter's A1 set to the sound blasters speakers device. That way I can enable dolby's encoder in Sound Blaster Command.
Man this helps me alot with content creation especially for those people who wanna clip both discord audio and game audio on an arctis pro (what I use). My issue was that if I set my default audio to voicemeeter it would be stereo but both chat and game channels will be heard which I want. but if I set the default audio to my game channel then only my game audio and my mic could be heard and its 7.1 surround. TY so much for this tutorial
Glad it was helpful!
جزاك الله خيراً
thanks for help, no idea why im saying this but you look like really friendly person. :)
I try to be, thanks!
I have dolby access and not a 7.1 headphones.. Whenever I change to 7.1, it doesn't work when testing and resets to stereo after I applied and pressed "Ok" automatically...
I had still a pb with the center and back channels.
But everything was solved, when i choose the MME output instead of WDM !
You are the GOAT
helped me to not go crazy ^^
MME is is :>
Great Video!
Thanks!
tryed useing this everytime thare was lag on both speakers or stuttering
is thare a good way to fix that on windows 10
trying to use eaither two bluetooth speakers {both different brands}
or bluetooth and hdmi
I can't thank you enough.
Hey! Thank you for the tutorial! Im having anissue (I think) tho. When I go to test the my headphones (Steel Series actris pro+dac) in the speaker setup with 7.1, everything has a sound except SL and SR (the right and left ones.) Ive tried it with my headphones set to DTX and not, and it doesn't seem to fix the issue. Any reason this might be?
nevermind. It seems to work when I change the master section to either mix down b or A. idk why
Thanks for the quick and concise tutorial. Do you know if the following is possible with VM? I have triple screens (3 x 55" televisions) connected via HDMI to my PC in a surround orientation ( /--\ )and Klipsch 2.1 Pro Audio system connected to left/right audio outputs of my sound card. What I would like to do is route 7.1 audio from the PC so that CENTER and SUB WOOFER channels go to the Klipsch speakers, the LEFT and RIGHT channels go the the speakers of the MIDDLE TV, the LEFT FRONT and LEFT REAR channels go the the LEFT TV and the RIGHT FRONT and the RIGHT REAR channels go the RIGHT TV. I have searched high and low and haven't found any information on how to do this.
The only way VM will process true surround is if you hook speakers up through the various jacks on a sound card. With your way, it isn't possible.
hi there, i have question about voicemeeter, i use the banana version.
do you know how to adjust the mic monitoring volume on what we hear on our headphone? in my case my mic is on HW Input 1, A1 and B1 button ON, on the virtual inputs Voicemeeter VAIO A1 button on, B1 off, my HW Out is set on A1
You need Potato to do that.
Wow, I'm struggling here to make my Logitech Z906 work on Voice Meeter Potato! Although I use the Nvidia Broadcaster plugin together, but using the voicemeeter for 5.1 channels, the Broadcaster already recognized 5.1 audio together! 😬
Hello! I just connect my old creative inspire p5800.
when I'm listening music I can hear them all, but only with blu ray 5.1. when I put youtube, two of them I can't hear. and also, in games, there is no voice in animations?! so, it is very strange, but something is wrong?!
It's UA-cam. Not sure about the games.
Thanks for the video. Can standard audio be "dumbed down" to play thru all the Surround Sound Speakers as just "Stereo" using VoiceMeeter? Or does that have to done thru Windows
Yes, you should be able to right click the output to composite I believe.
@@FrugalStreamer Thanks.
Thank you
Welcome!
To be clear, are you saying that with Stereo headphones, enabling this is un-necessary? When I try to set it up for my stereo headset, there's no sound coming out in the 7.1 test except for the left and right speakers. Is this working as intended?
It is for headphones that say they support 7.1, or "Virtual" 7.1
@@FrugalStreamer mine says virtual, and I have the same issue has him, will it not work?
I have a cloud stinger core 7.1 headset. does that mean i don't need to set this up? because i setup my VLC to output to 5.1 but obviously the headset doesn't output all of the sounds from the media. any thoughts?
Nah. Yours is virtual I imagine.
thaaaaaanks
For some reason when I select 7:1 it still only plays out of the left and right channels and ignores all others, this is not an issue when not running Voicemeeter? The IO controller is also only showing 2 channels.
You sure you're changing the right VAIO?
i have a 7.1 headset and a 5.1 speaker setting
if i set 7.1 for headset so i can play games.
if my batterys empti and i must use speakers the sond form the sides got lost! because i only have 5 speakers!
is there any way to fix it?
Get 7.1 speakers
hello i need help, im using 5.1 and i dont know why but only my 2frond speakers work, but in test it make all sound
Is the audio source you're using encoded in 5.1?
Does voicemeeter Support Dolby atmos for headphones when I use MME?
I have no idea. Ask VB Audio on their Discord.
it dosnt work for me, but i guess its because i use an old logitech X-530 (and i had to use the 3 channels i had on my mother board)
Hello. I am using this software and it is so random. Sometimes I get surround sound and sometimes I don't. Especially if my second PC is on which is the streaming one. The is some problem of splitting the sound. One day it works fine the very next day it doesn't without any settings changed.
It is my biggest frustration with VM to be honest.
if i test my headphones (g935) i can hear all the sounds, if i test the "voicemeeter input" which is set to 7.1 all i can hear are the L and R channels. when i check the control panel it says there are 8 channels in but only 2 out, could that be my issue? if so how can i fix this
whattt, i just if i switch my A1 from WDM to MME i can hear everything....?
i'm going to just keep my headphones on MME in that case but just change the buffer down to 512 unless i run into issues
@@likeahack dude this worked form me to thank you
@@ZeroKnight2003 aight glad it helped
@@likeahack I get gruesome white noise when I switch to MME - do you not have that?
Why is it not working for razer nari
is there a way to make it 8 channels? please help!!!
7.1 is it.
Is there a way to use razer surround sound with voicemeeter?
Have you found an answer yet ;-;
@@enderox5537 nope
@@zepos Try setting your A1 to MME instead of WDM. That solved it for me!
@@enderox5537 not for me :(
@@enderox5537 yes it did fix it but at the cost of the sound sounding like shit aka it didnt fix it at all
Спасибо из Беларуси
Only the Left and Rigth are working in 7.1 Surround :(
I get the same with 5.1 :-/
Sadly it didnt work i got an logitech pro x gen 2 with 7.1 and when i want to configure VB-audio Voicemeeter VAIO it shows me 7.1 but only does stereo when i test it
nvm fixed it had to put it on MME
@@jenskruse2323 Man 5 hours of trying to figure it out. You are a life saver thank you good friend
Dolby acces stop working today with voice meter help! it doesnt allow to put it on anymore while use voice meter yesterday it works.
Did something update?
@@FrugalStreamer steel serie gg program make it dont work.
Is there a way to setup vban outgoing as rear speakers to imitate 7.1 surround. So the rear sound goes through outgoing streams instead of it imitating the main speakers?
Not that I know of
where is the input, for 5.1?
Windows sound settings
i get so lost with voicemeeter. the whole a1 a2 a3 and b1 b2 thing throws me off for real. can't ever seem to figure it out.
I've been using VMB for years, and I still can't get that shit figured out.
Doesn't work.
Sure it does. Just not for you.
