As a new guy, who got the game just a couple of days, this is very helpful! The Sound being very importand in this game makes it defficult for me. I don´t have a good audio system and bad ears anyways. So I have to rely on visuals more than on sound. But still, being new in this game is hard! Often enough I´m just unlucky by being on the other side of the map, when the zone starts shrinking, or being in the wide open when someone got a sniper rifle. Or, and this is my favourite so far, just having landed on the ground and being headshot by a lvl 500 player. I had very different matches yesterday; one that took just 30 seconds, because of said lvl 500 killing me at the very start and one match where I made it on 2nd place. Wich makes me think it´s not all skill, but a lot of luck, too.

It's been a long time I didn't get an insightfull information from your tutorial, and god it feels good to get one new !! (blood stains when hit by silencer)
There was one part of the video 2:55 where Jacky was talking about "supersonic cracks" and saying that suppressed weapons do not have them even if the weapon fires super sonic rounds, but weapons that don't fire supersonic rounds like .45ACP do have cracks when unsuppressed. That part was hella confusing but I realized what he's talking about. He was mixing up the echo/reverberation of a weapon and the supersonic crack of the bullet. So yes, an unsuppressed Tommy Gun will still reverberate loudly when you shoot it. However, when you get shot at by a subsonic bullet, you won't hear the effect of first the bullet cracking and then the boom of the gun. Instead you will hear a subsonic whizzing sound and the gunshot at relatively the same time. Also the, game has a separate sound for a crack and a whizz for when a bullet passes by you. The bullet will either crack if the bullet from a rifle or 9mm passes by very close, and a whizz if the bullet is either subsonic or misses you by a lot. Also for supersonic high velocity rifles, if someone shoots you at range, you will hear a delay between the bullet passing by and the boom in the distance from the gunshot. PUBG does this delay whether they miss you just barely and you hear the crack, or if they miss you by a lot and you hear the whizz. Again, the crack/whizz followed by the delayed gunshot is not present for subsonic bullets, you instead hear the gunshot and the bullet close to the same time. While the crack turning into whizz if a rifle misses you by a lot is not realistic, the way they model the delay of a gunshot and the speed of sound is realistic. Also, suppressed weapons still reverberate depending on how big they are, just not with as loud a tail, and with fewer loud distinct echoes. And most importantly, while a suppressed rifle will not reverberate as loudly, the sound of the bullet will be unaffected by a suppressor, so if someone snipes you with a suppressed sniper rifle but just barely misses, you will still hear the bullet go crack. Another thing about the reverberation of a weapon, which is not the same as a crack. You will not hear your gun reverberate if you shoot inside a building, instead it will be just the initial dry gunshots. There was a point during early access where there was separate outdoor reverb and indoor reverb, but now guns simply do not reverberate indoors anymore. One caveat to this is that distant gunshots however sound the same and reverberate the same whether they're indoor or not.
When I have cover and Im beign shot and I dont know where from, my standart is usually scouting surroundings little by little. Not to spot the enemy, but to see when he will shoot. After determining what angle he has vision on and where he cant see me anymore I try to spot him - because if you determine angle even in lets say 10-15 degrees radius, there is actually little to no cover and you can quickly check these rocks, trees, horizon, any cover overall. And usually you see that head popping right behind. If you dont, youre in bad luck and need more overall experience in spotting people, which comes over time. Remember - its just a game and we should enjoy it even if its momentarily frustrating.
