My kids would love that purple tile. Hope to close on our house soon so I can do all these makeover projects. Getting impatient! Let's move already! Lol
While i agree with most of the knuckleheads who say you should of left that beautiful mosaic tile alone but thats not the point of the video...you did a hell of a job prepping which 90% of DIY’ers definitely try to take shortcuts prepping n thats where they run into major problems..kudos to you for showing the masses the proper way to prep for such application..disregard the commenter who said you should of taken the tape off while paints wet. With acrylic/epoxy paint its perfectly fine to let it set for as long as need be n it wont peel. Regular latex paints will peel but not tub& tile thats a different animal...give ya a 10 outta 10 for execution but a 1 outta 10 for covering up that purple mosaic tile...ive installed decorative tile for 20 yrs n customers would kill to be able to have a nice quality tile like that in their homes. Lol. Either way well done with the task at hand
Thank you for sharing this i have a few tiles walls next to the shower head like yours that i wanted to paint this seems like a quick easy way to do it thank you
I have a question this is my first time I want to do my tub at my apartment how long will it take to dry ?and also I am wanting to cover up on the inside corners of the tub can I use that also ?
Thanks for the video. I have been looking for ideas for my pink 1950's bathroom. It's still in good shape and some people love retro but I'm ready to move on. Unfortunately for us it's the entire bathroom.
agree that you need to tape and cover everything that you don't want the paint to get on as the particles from the paint go everywhere! Also, the fumes are very strong. well done.
I have old and new white tiles and wonder if this is the way to go to make it even. Does it stay? it would directly be hit by water every time one showers.
Yes... I'm also interested to know... I plan to do the same thing to my kitchen.... If she thought the purple tiles didn't work, my kitchen sink area is a freaking 1980s time capsule.
Great video! I'm considering doing this for the tile above my shower head. I saw your last reply about how it held up well after 8 months. How about now?
How did it hold up to getting wet? I used paint “waterproof” for my bathroom at it peeled little by little when I mopped. Trying to find another option now
Ok, i read the comments and found out where to buy, but one more question, is there any other color than white? Thanks you for making this video, it inspired me to paint the bathroom floor, i just hope it will last longer
As decor trends go , purple had it's day in the 80's. When you come to sell it people want clean white or neutral colours & don't want the hassle of redecorating.
I'm not sure! The spray paint version was the only option I could find here in Thailand. I think painting would be less messy. But I really like how smooth the spay paint turned out, and I'm not sure if painting would be streaky.
I just bought a home that has blue everywhere in the bathroom. The tub, shower tile, toilet, sink, AND floor tile are a hideous baby blue color. And the walls are pink 🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️. It’ll be my biggest diy
Yep! It's been over 8 months now and still looks like new. But I only clean it with a soft cloth and mild soap (no abrasive brushes or harsh chemicals).
From what I've researched, the following are recommend: Formula 409 (without bleach), Lysol, Liquid Ajax, or dish soap (like Dawn) used with a soft sponge or microfiber cloth
So I have a kitchen table with removable tile. The surface is rugged and I want to spray the tiles. This looks flat and that is not what I want but would I need a gloss spray paint or will I need to add epoxy? Thank for help!
Looks like the spray paint version is out of stock on Amazon, but this paint version also has good reviews: www.amazon.com/Rust-Oleum-7860519-Refinishing-2-Part-White/dp/B000PTSBKW/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=rustoleum+tub+and+tile+spray+paint&qid=1595422518&sprefix=rustoleum+tub+and+tile&sr=8-3
Before tackling this project, I read a blog review that said theirs lasted 3 years before the paint started to show signs of chipping. (Ours is 4 months and counting with no issues so far.)
Don’t spray paint in such a small room. The spray creates a dust of paint that floats around in the air and lands on EVERY SINGLE SURFACE in the bathroom. This includes the ceiling windows and vent fans. Always roller paint
I hope you realize those $5 spray paint cans are gonna peel within a year tops and it’s gonna look worse than the nice mosaic you had that you thought looked bad. Your gonna really see what bad looks like in the near future if not already.
i liked the purple! :) im glad you showed how you prepped the bathroom so as not to make a mess.
Wow, the coverage of that one coat is insane! Might give this a try for my bathroom... 🤔😍
The pop of color was so pretty but the white looks clean
I really liked the purple tiles x
I liked it more before but you did a good job 👏🏼
Same here love the purple, wish I had that
Great work! This is impressive.
So cool and easy process...thanks🙏🏼🙏🏼
Looked great both ways.
My kids would love that purple tile. Hope to close on our house soon so I can do all these makeover projects. Getting impatient! Let's move already! Lol
Amazing !
I like it white it looks nice and clean..
Looks gorgeous! Great job!👏🏼👏🏼 I like the neutral better! It looks more sophisticated and clean in my opinion. :)
Looks really nice😍
PRIMER works wonders !!!!!!!

Painters tape should definitely be removed before the paint dries. You run the risk of peeling off the paint with the tape when it's dry
Thanks for the tip!
This is dumb. If you remove before its done the paint job will be sloppy
@@retropickups2000 No it isn't.
Great tip I'm running to buy my rustoleum bath and tub I have 3 bathroom to renovate in my new old house
Wow your bathrooms look great, how have they held up over time?
Wow this looks good

Thanks! I just uploaded a video with our final bathroom reveal :)

Spray paint!!! …yes it gets better 😊
Love the purple. Should have left it alone.
That cheap paint will peel and chip soon. 👀 disaster
not for resale value
She didn’t like the purple❤️ it’s not your house

Omg our bathroom is pink too and have been looking for budget ways to change it
Mine is pink and blue tiles... been looking for a way to change it...might consider this.the house was built in 1972... thanks
I’ve seen people spray paint into a solo cup, and then paint onto the tile! So the spray residue doesn’t get everywhere!
Good suggestion!
Was it a strong smell
Looks way much cleaner and freshen the look of the bathrooms
Love it, thanks 😉
Hi, where did you buy the paint from please?
agree that you need to tape and cover everything that you don't want the paint to get on as the particles from the paint go everywhere! Also, the fumes are very strong. well done.

Excellent Job
Am I the only one sad that she painted over that pretty purple tile? :( To each their own I suppose.
Nope. I’m right there with you. They were a nice clear tile. I loved them before. But I do like the “after” as well. 🤗
Hi! I know this is an odd question but what kind of toilet is that??
Beautiful bathroom before and after 🙂👍
Does that brand have a specific tub/shower tile spray paint?
Ive been hearing mixed things about the Rusoleum tile spray, how is it holding up 8 months later?
Yes... I'm also interested to know...
I plan to do the same thing to my kitchen....
If she thought the purple tiles didn't work, my kitchen sink area is a freaking 1980s time capsule.
Mine still looks great, but I only applied it on our shower wall... I can't speak for a tub/floor/countertop that is heavily used.
Did the spray painting run out colour after washing it use toilet cleaning chemical?
Is the paint still up to par ?
Is the piant water based
Same question how’s it holding up
I love it 👍
Great video! I'm considering doing this for the tile above my shower head. I saw your last reply about how it held up well after 8 months. How about now?
Please share the link of it
Thank you
Is it still holding up??? I would like to do it
I have a pink bathroom... are u still loving the results??? I have to try it out
Yes! It's been six months now and still looks great
How many coats did you need?
I did one thorough coat, or you could do two light coats if you prefer.
Hi. I want to know what is the Machine next to shower hose.🤗
It's the water heater 😊🚿
@@aandtj1119 Thank you so much 🙏 And add a question.. What brand have you used?! Could you recommend some heater water brand?
How did it hold up to getting wet? I used paint “waterproof” for my bathroom at it peeled little by little when I mopped. Trying to find another option now
How is holding up after 9 mos ?
Still looks great. I'm planning on filming a one-year update.
This looks so good. Planning to try it too but how would I go about removing the paint if I wanted to?
Never leave the tape up. Take it off when you’re done painting, not after its dried for days. That’s like painting 101.
Wow like the other commenters, she painted over that beautiful, expensive, and rare purple accent tile for a drab white. Yeeech😜
Is it still holding up after 7 months???
Yep! I'm careful with how I clean it (dish soap + soft cloth about once a month) and it still looks great!
@@aandtj1119 WoW niceee thanks for thé update!
I recommend next time picking up a half face respirator and getting organic vapor filters for it.
What grit sandpaper did you use?.i like purple but thats something you find in a hotel. The white looks nice n clean..nice job.
220 grit
After 1 year...can you tell me how it held up?
Check out my one-year update video :)

Omg, the purple was hideous. People have such interesting taste, it's frightening. 10/10 color transformation

How much spray bottle did you use?
I used 1 can for a 1x8 ft area. I only did 1 coat, but I sprayed it on thoroughly enough that you can't see the original tile color underneath.
I like this.

Rustoleum Tub and Tile
Hey, great video. I am super curious, how is it holding up?
Still looks great. I'm planning on filming a one-year update video.
great job, any drips?
I had some drips because I'm an inexperienced spray painter, but I did get better, and the second bathroom ended up being easier than the first.
