I'm still bitter about Vision being completely forgotten from this storyline
He isnt forgotten its just that in every universe (if youve read the comics espicially house of m and wandavision) vision and wanda are destined to break apart theres never a happy ending. Wanda has acepted that but hasnt accepted it about her kids.

Something I've never understood is why would Wanda take over another Wanda's family. Surely in the multiverse there is at least one where she died and left two orphans behind who need a mother.
Why does she need someone else's children anyway. She has 3 options that don't involve murder - or trying to kill yourself - when you recognize the obvious after two hours of silly horror shenanigans.
1) Have a baby - like women can. {Raimi and Waldron seem confused about this]
2) Adopt
3) Bring back your Hex Babies - you are the one who eliminated them in the 1st place...remember.
[geez they are the same characters, with same names, same age, same actors as the ones you created and then erased in Wanda Vision. Want them back...bring them back.]

The original plot was about a demon [Nightmare/Mephisto??] who actually *threatened* Billy and Tommy.
Wanda Vision ended with them *crying out for help.*
In Raimi/Waldron's stupid version of the story - they were never in danger or in need of help - nor is there any explanation for why - in Wanda Vision - she ever heard them crying out for help.
Raimi and Waldron don't remember cuz they never saw Wanda Vision. Hence they are scarcely able to grasp the huge plot holes in their story.

The Rick and Morty option! But yeah, you're totally right. Especially considering there are supposed to be infinite universes, there literally has to be some exactly as you described. It's such an easy answer, that it feels like a glaring plot hole that it isn't even considered.
edit: Plus everything @Summer Tyme said, too. There are so many other options that Wanda just doesn't consider, she acts as if the only possible option is that she steals the children of another, existing, most likely innocent Wanda, when that wouldn't be the case because that's not how the multiverse works.

The film's ill motivated premise is completely ignorant of the character, and the previous chapters of the story they are supposedly telling.
Wanda can bring the children she let go back if she wants them. THE END.
The film doesn't have any answer or explanation for WHY she doesn't just bring her Billy and Tommy back.
Because Raimi didn't watch WandaVision and isn't really aware that this is a glaring problem.
It's not like she LOST her children. She simply *accepted* that she had to let them go.
So if she no longer accepts that - BRING THEM BACK.
There is no -> *i'm going to leave this reality....and run away to another one* where I can be with SOMEONE ELSES children.
That is just mindbogglingly fking stupid on the part of the writers.
Wanda created her children (as women do) in the 1st place by - altering reality (as Wanda does) - which she can do to an unlimited degree - so she would not need to run away to another reality and be with SOMEONE ELSE's children. lol.
Then she KILLS HERSELF when she figures out her idiotic plan - can't ever work.

But here’s the thing, she’s only been in about 70 universes in a total of infinite universes. I don’t think it’s totally unreasonable to believe that she didn’t find a Spider-Man in the short amount of universes she’s been through.
I think everybody is missing that the spell that made everyone forget about spiderman might have propagated across all realities, because that's kinda what was happening when "reality fractured" in the spiderman movie

The Loki show really made it seem like Multiverse of Madness would focus on the TVA and branching timelines in some way. But the writer for this movie decided it would be cooler to use their self insert fanfiction character and destroy Wanda's entire character arc instead. Brilliant!

No you're right. There's a screen rant article that's somewhat on point discussing how phase 4 is messed up because the order of films is out of wack.
Was supposed to be Guardians 3, Multiverse of Madness , No Way Home.
But it ended up all twisted round - James Gunn was fired, hired and now has left for DC. Scott Derrickson - fired, Covid 19 hit, Sony demanded to keep going with No Way Home. As a result neither MOM nor No Way Home make a lick of sense.
Also they are repeating the mistakes of Star Wars that JJ and Rian fought over. Plot points set up in prior movies are forgotten or retconned into nonsense in the next chapter.
Wanda Created Tommy, Billy and Vision in the Hex but let them all go.
She heard Billy and Tommy screaming for help at the end of WandaVision:
That was supposed to set off a plot with Nightmare where she believed the children did really exist but were in danger.
Instead - we get a film that makes no sense where she just decides she wants Tommy and Billy back - but not the ones she and Vision created but rather from another Universe - requiring her to kill the real mother of the children...and....something/something America Chavez which has fug all to do with any of this. lol.
Then she figures out that's nuts, and tries to kill herself. But...no one believes that, so she'll be back.
So the whole thing was just a waste of time, like the worst comic books, and the worst Marvel movies per Martin Scorsese and Francis Coppola.

1. Why do the infinity stones only work in their respective universe, but some random spell can effect them all?
2. Why are America's portals star shaped?
So MCU is a mess right now, because phase IV writers either do not understand phase I thru III or, and this is more to the point, they really don't give a flying F.
1) In Infinity Saga - there is no random magic spell to solve the Infinity Stones. If there were then none of the story can make any sense at all. Even the death of the Ancient One and choice of Strange to become Sorcerer Supreme is rendered pointless and devoid of narrative logic, stakes or meaning. [very clear that Raimi and Waldron are *not* thinking about that and don't care]
This is a plot hole made up in *this* film. With disregard and disrespect for all that came before.
2) In the Infinity Saga - the stones function in any and every universe and dimension.
The whole point of Endgame is that they travel the multiverse gathering the stones from universes in which they exist, to bring them to the Universe where Thanos snapped and undo the snap here. Those who don't get this....don't understand the film.
They then take the stones back to the universes from whence they came - at the exact moment - so that in terms of *time* the stones never left that Universe.
I don't think Sam Raimi cares one wit, about any of that.
He is just making an evil dead movie where Wanda goes: _I'll swallow your soul!!!_
And Benedict gets zombie arms and 3rd eye *instead of Bruce Campbell's much cooler chain saw arm.* 🤣

Let's talk about the villain's plan. Surprised there was no sin about Wanda sharing her motivation with Wong in the temple. "What if my kids got sick?" felt oddly lazy. She could've said something more like, "I want to protect my children in EVERY universe," and that would not only make more sense for the story, but would've also made her feel like even more of a threat to reality itself.
Edit: People, I get that she's acting like a mother, and I get that she's being driven insane. I'm saying I want her to be even MORE insane.
She was a terrible Marvel villain, but a good Disney villain.

5:13 I'm actually fully invested in the theory that Strange saw SEVERAL possibilities where they were able to defeat Thanos without handing over the time stone, but he saw that to do so would doom all life on Earth via the impending Emergence (see Eternals).
So he let Thanos "win" knowing it would put the celestial back to sleep so that the Eternals could destroy it six years later, thus sparing all life on Earth...

My main issue with this film is that in the first Doctor Strange, it's clearly stated they use the sling rings to travel the Multiverse. Meaning by Marvel's own internal logic, America's powers aren't that unique, and all Wanda needed to do was frisk Wong for his ring. (Or temporarily join the Wizards and get given one in training)
Not to mention why can't they portal without a sling ring? Are we to believe that no other portaling magic exists outside of the rings? Like it doesn't have to be across dimensions but point A to point B portaling should exist
@@Troll_vs. I'm perfectly fine with the idea you need a sling ring to portal, as often with magic you need set "rules" for the audience's benefit, and it does just that. But America's powers do then break that rule and give you reason to ask that question, whereas before there was no reason not to accept it as was.
@@Troll_vs. the space stone you could teleport with, Thanos did multiple times.. not to mention the warp gate tech that the Guardian’s have in their ship they can travel the Universe with it like Rocket did in that hyperspace incident there was also Reed Richards Time Window that he teleported in the High Room with.. the Bi-Frost as well teleports.. but as in Multiversal no the sling rings have not shown they can do that only in our own Universe they maybe were referring to the Mirror Dimension as that is outside of our Universe but like other Universes no the sling ring cannot travel to them..

I was practically screaming over them not closing the door when they got to the book of Vishanti. Its not like they could go back? They caused a structurel collapse, but they had to stand there with the door open so Wanda could show up. This movie had a lot wrong with it but somehow that was what had me nearly screaming in the theatre.
Might be a stretch but perhaps the closed door wouldn't really matter against Wanda what should a happened is Strange should of just teleported them all away when he grabbed the book

I was SO hyped after I saw the post-credits about this movie! I expected the story to to something like this: a different Doctor Strange from another universe comes to a conclusion that the Multiverse can only be safe under his sovereign guidance, and stars killing all the "other" Stranges in different universes along with those who would oppose him. He might even be a benevolent dictator at first, but the absolute power eventually corrupts him into mistaking his own gain for the "good of all Multiverse". Only "our" Strange and Wanda together are powerful enough to oppose the "multi-Strange", and have to stop him.
Instead I got the nonsense we all got.

The Darkhold was also featured in Agents of Shield. It is stated there that the Darkhold can and will give you a way to get what you want, and that the pages are different for everybody.
In this movie's case, it gave Wanda the means to locate and Hunt Chavez.
Darkhold was brilliantly used in Season 4 of Agents of SHIELD and stupidly used in this film.
The Darkhold did not substitute for lack of character development in SHIELD - but it does in this film.
The Darkhold's function in this film is to make the character do whatever will turn the film into a cheesy horror movie.
Therefore nothing the characters do makes any sense on any level.
Trying to make sense of it - reveals plot holes because you are looking for narrative excuses for something that exists to service that cheesy-horror-movie agenda.
You just gave an example of this:
_"Darkhold will give you a way to get what you want - it gives Wanda the means to locate and Hunt Chavez."_
^ This is endlessly plot hole riven. Hunting Chavez - *IS NOT WHAT SHE WANTS.*
Chavez is injected into the plot to give the monster (Wanda really with CG proxies) the screaming chick (Chavez) to chase. And to give the hero (Strange) a "save me" girl. lol.
What Wanda wants is - her children.
Using Occam's Razor - that is the simplest solution - never gets us to the point of -
_chasing Chavez around with monsters from other dimensions that you can access with your mind control abilities because of DarkHold._ lol.
That's a freaking mouthful to even say.
You know the writer is desperate at this point, to perform such acrobatics just to get us to generic "scary movie" hijinks.
Here is what the logic of the story actually implies.
1) If you want Billy and Tommy back - bring them back yourself - since you made them go away in the 1st place.
(I'm sorry but there is simply no reconciling her sudden desperate need for these specific kids - when she essentially *destroyed them herself* in the last episode of Wanda Vision.)
Raimi didn't watch Wanda Vision. That's the *real reason* he didn't immediately recognize this plot hole. Wanda Vision just *gets in the way of his making Evil Dead pt. 69.*
So the character Wanda in this film makes no sense....you can't *hide that* behind the McBook of McGuffin.
2) If you want to have babies the normal way - not Hex babies but rather lol -> *Sex* babies.... then have sex. Problem solved. Wanda would know this.
Who other than Incels Raimi and Waldron can't f'king figure that out?! rotlf.
3) If - for some insane reason you need Chavez - when you *already have the McBook of McWaldrons McDarkplotHoles* - then use your Darkhold amped up powers to *mind control Chavez.*
You want girl, not monster, so control girl, do not control monster to have monster run around and chase girl - who btw - you don't really need in the 1st place as the McGuffin is already given you the power to get what you really want - the kids. Who moreover you already had in the 1st place until you *used your power to alter reality to destroy* lol.
*Fortify your mind indeed!* And learn to at least follow the logic of your own fked up plot.
To wit: What - exactly - is - the bug eyed monster - need for???????
Is the film implying that she can psychically reach across Universes to control demonic monsters at will - but she can't just *control - the girl????*

Again excuses aside the film simply needs to have the monsters chase the girl, period.

Because that's how stupid horror movies are made and that's what this is.

I have a theory that Ghost Rider from Agents of SHIELD took the Darkhold into an alternate dimension at the end of season 4, that dimension was the hellscape in which Wanda comes into this movie. She found the Darkhold there, its look changed because magic and stuff, and it enhanced the powers she already had from the experiments with hell magic or whatever
I'm sad that cinema sins mostly skipped the big fight with Wanda in which multiple heroes attack one at a time and give her all the chances to properly meet their attack.
Not just attacking one at a time. They basically waited for her to do things before attacking AND they told Wanda who otherwise would have no idea that Black Bolt can kill her. I fucking loled when he says "Black Bolt can kill you with a whisper". Like why is it necessary to let her know this information? The reality sorceress?

That is EXACTLY what I was thinking too. Alt-Wanda could tell everybody that our Wanda is her long lost twin sister. One of them would have to (slightly) change her name to help keep things from getting confusing, but otherwise, they could make it work.
Of course, if they did that, then it'd be hard (but not impossible) to use Wanda in any future movies. She's a very popular character, so the movie makers want her to be available for future movies.
80% of the problems in this film could've been solved with portals but instead they keep introducing new spells which solve the puzzle less effectively and is then promptly forgotten about. It kills all the tension.

Yes. The horrible writer for this film admits why he did it. He was scared that Wanda would become the villain in an Avengers movie down the line, so he turned her into a villain so he could use her for his movie. He was asked to bunt to move the runner over, but he went for himself, tried to hit a home run and *struck out* instead.

My main problem that I find with this movie is that we're supposed to empathize with Wanda because she lost her family and Vision and it gave her justification to do terrible things such as killing wizards, and the Illuminati in another universe just to do everything she could to see her fictional kids, which I don't get whatsoever. WandaVision did the same thing as well when she trapped an entire town in her fantasy land.
It contradict the meaning of Wanda-Vision.

Hey! At 7:36 Strange couldn't open a portal because Wanda destroyed his sling ring (the ring he uses to create portals.) With her magic, if you rewatch the clip you can see the ring glow with a red aura and break. He was capable of using magic, he just wasn't able to render portals.

I feel the same way but specifically for Strange and Wong. It's like these guys think they can only use any given spell once or twice. Or like all of those baffling decisions in the fight in the beginning of the movie. Summoning a giant demon cat head? Really? Slicing a bus in half? There's so much potential damage caused to property and civilian alike there, and it's all unnecessary.
Other films that include either Sorcerer Supreme have no problem with them using their slingies to create portals when needed, but this film acts as if the portals are a very finite resource or have a cooldown or something. It just doesn't make any sense.

My issue with this film is how when Wanda is presented with the very obvious question of how she will handle the version of her in other universes whose already mothering her children. Her response is to kill them too and just take them. I can follow a grief stricken person making illogical decisions but once we get there even she should be like yeah I’m overreacting here.

Vision is not in any of her realities, because in the comics vision and Wanda never get to stay together. They always tragically end for some reason. In the mcu she finally comes to terms with Vision’s death and accepts that reality. It’s the kids that she’s stuck on because vision is one of a kind/they’re not gonna last in all realities, but the kids are new and exist in all of the other ones

Problem with introducing time travel in the mic made the same problem with this movie, the writers don’t seem to know what there writing about until they need something cool to happen, Wanadas plan could work where in a universe where both her(and vision) had kids but died in endgame leaving her kids as orphans. I love how Baron Mordos so intent on executing Strange in the scene. It’s like dude, you’re entire organization is literally falling apart around you and all your friends have been brutally slaughtered. You really think your pissing match with a Strange you’ve never even met is still important?

What I want to know is how the pizza ball vendor survived 3 straight weeks of punching himself in the face. I didn't get the impression that the spell would pause to let him do things like eat and sleep, so that means the guy would be punching himself in the face 24/7 for three weeks. He's definitely dead, unless Dr Strange included something in the spell that meant he didn't need sustenance and sleep while punching himself.

I think Jeremy said he intentionally makes small errors like this when writing the episodes. Either to a) pad the runtime for more revenue or b) show off more of the movie because some ppl use this as a way to “watch” movies without having to sit through 2 hours of it.

I don't think this rendition of Wanda know who most of them are, thus giving Reed and others the advantage, especially since they know who SHE is.

If you have played portal, you know that creating a portal that sends you back up doesn't slow you down.
Your momentum makes sure you reach the same height you were at when you started falling which means you will end up with the same speed when you reach the ground the second time. You would only slow down a little bit because of air friction, but that would take a long time to have a meaningful effect.
What you could do is create a portal that shoots you back up and when you reach the highest point, where your speed is zero, create a portal under your feet that brings you closer to the ground.

You missed the fact that in the scene where Strange is walking up to the monster, there is a guy in a black suit next to a taxi who runs away from the shot, and in the next cut of the shot he's in the shot again, and it happens on loop about 4 times.

I remember seeing Wandavision and thinking "damn those bastards got me to sign on to more movies" and then this movie happened, and now I am feel free
After Endgame I felt kinda...done with the MCU (partially because it felt like a good drop-off point but also because I was just really unwilling to give Disney extra money for their subscription service), but decided to give WandaVision a try...it was so good that I binged all the new MCU stuff, but damn this movie made me want to dip right back out again.

When I first heard of the MoM, I thought it would be a villain like Shuma Gorath and we'd see chaos in many different universes (like the Spider verse vs Inheritors). But what we got was just one other universe that's slightly different from the main one.
I think that's what we were all hoping for. Multiverse madness

The problem with Wanda being the villain was that she found peace after WandaVision. It would have made more sense that she was possessed by a great evil. Also, why didn’t she choose a universe where her kids were orphaned. Regardless, I am sure she will be back for Secret Wars, possibly on Kang’s side but not sure.
The point of WandaVision end was that she could not live in a fantasy world of her creation.
That “Wanda at peace” version in the end was not the Wanda of WandaVision.
But her using the Darkhold to dream walk and view other versions of herself. Looking for what made them “at peace” when suddenly she hears her kids and realize that they exist not as a fantasy but as a real family somewhere in the multiverse.
She just needs to reach them and she can have what “she needs” not as a fantasy but a reality.
Wanda WAS possessed. The Darkhold had control over her until the end, when she snapped out of it in grief from seeing how Tommy & Billy react to her as what she had become
Understanding that you have done/are doing something wrong is not the same as founding peace. Wanda was still a wreck at the end of WandaVision.

And that's the problem with today's MCU. There are no stakes. Multiverse is open, so we can bring back whoever, whenever. Hell, even from whenever. Timestone is no more only on Earth 616, just get another one from infinite time stones in the infinite multiverse.
The problem with wanda being the villain is that she's a terrible character and her motives are vapid and boring as fuck.

If you saw the Marvel studios assembled of this movie, idk his name but someone said the reason they chose scarlet witch as a villain was "why are we letting some other movie have the best villain". Wanda wasn't a villain because of storytelling, it's because someone wanted to call dibs on her being the bad guy which is so frustrating.

The reason why Strange can’t open up a portal at 7:35 is because Wanda took his sling thingy that goes on his fingers. And it’s explained in the first movie that you have to have that sling to open up portals. Other magic you can do just fine
