- Black Adam was not the juggernaut at the box office that many were hoping for. And if you watch the movie, you will see why. And you will see it's many sins as well.
Next week: animated sins from the aughts & 2022 horror sins.
Remember, no movie is without sin. Which movie's sins should we count next?

The true Sin is bringing back Henry Cavill for a *Superman vs Black Adam* showdown, just for DC to canned that Idea.
And not firing Ezra,.
You can say that again 🤦🏽♂️ I was pissed.
That pissed me the hell off
How was this comment 8 hrs ago when this video came out 16 mins ago??👆
@@SchmergDergenezra aint do nun!
Biggest sin in this movie is the fact that his weakness is Eternium, but it literally never gets brought up again.
Also being very repetitive and taking place at the same location for most of the film, for me at least.
Cause The Rock can't show weakness...duh
Because Eternium was never a thing for Black Adam. The movie writers made it so he wouldn't be completely unstoppable/ ever more unlikable.
biggest sin in this movie is that the rock is in it
And here I thought "Rustoleum" would be an Evilish dude as it ate my car.
My biggest issue was how dirty they did Dr Fate. He is THE most powerful character in the entire movie, but they don't ever let him do anything, and then he dies after just the one appearance. He literally could've handled every conflict in this movie by himself
Kent died not Fate, very stupidly yes. What the movie forgets and tries make people forget is that the helmet IS Dr Fate, and taking it off arbitrarily is next to impossible thanks to Nabu.
I do wish Dr Fate stays out of the picture though, I love Fate as a character but seeing the movie version just makes my blood boils. They can't fix it unless they directly contradicts/retcon it.
I gotta say I'm surprised that you didn't mention that throughout the entire movie Hawkman kept saying that he can't let black atom go because he kills people while he works for Amanda Waller who in every movie she's been in has openly killed innocent people
The thing that most distracted me in this movie is the pavement. The pavement was PERFECT everywhere. The kid could skateboard from one end of the city and back and never hit a single crack or bump.
Never going to unsee this now
This guy skates
Not even in the US can you do that and it's one of the richest nations in the world.
@@anon_y_mousse for the US to be so rich, our infrastructure is embarrassingly shoddy. Only the wealthiest neighborhoods keep up with their sidewalks. Potholes and uneven sidewalks all over in middle class/low income neighborhoods.
loool so I told my wife but she got mad loool I cant believe some1 else noticed loool
JSA: *''Heroes don't kill people!''*
Every DCEU movie hero in recent times: *''Killing is super easy, barely an inconvenience''*
Wow wow wow wow
Idk man I'd rather live in the dceu than the MCU imagine just chilling in your car and spiderman swings some criminal into your car. Boom dead. Thanks spidey
Referencing pitch meeting is tight!
but it's okay when Captain America and the avengers kill people
Oh really!
The kid riding the skateboard at 10:22 just to hop off it 2 seconds later almost made me walk out the movie theater
The worst part was how the Justice Society was all like "He's too powerful, we need to reason with him" (and that also technically he's not a villain), and then their first words to Black Adam are literally "Surrender or die". Would it have hurt them to first try peaceful talks and then fail in some plausible way?
Man, they sure are lucky that "make sure I never speak "shazam" again" didn't lead to them just cutting out his tongue or straight up killing him.
I know right? Imagine if the somebody actually killed or destroyed something instead of just paralaxing it for once...
Pretty sure Superman did that in a comic not long ago. Heat visioned his vocal cords
@@shellcracker18 Didn't see that one, but he definitely did it to Shazam in Injustice. He ice breathed Shazam's mouth shut and the heat visioned a hole through his head. Would have to assume the same would be possible to do to Black Adam
It's Waller. She would probably used him for her own gains like the other times
@@ArisAuditorez24 Exactly. It's almost as if she has a squad that goes on suicide missions. I wonder what she would call it.
I also love it when the exposition builds up dr fate as having "near god levels of power", and then can't defeat a measly demon.
It's like the dialogue describes a comic accurate Dr Fate, but then Mr Brosnan shows up to cosplay...
Man, Dr. Fate was my MAN growing up with Justice Society comics! Pissed that they ended him without one standalone adventure. And Pierce as Fate? Awesome. All gone to waste!
um 5 demon including satan mofo
@@MrSwiftResponse it like thor 2, the one where the these losers agree they are not gods. whech begs the question, if the asgardians are not gods, are there even gods? is gore just an ashole killing aliens out of spite.. i mean i know he is but do the writers get that?
@@johnymustacio Eventually it becomes hard to distinguish what defines a "god" in a world full of beings of different levels of omnipotence, from Celestials to Eternity to the Living Tribunal to the One Above All to... whatever comes next. Probably "gods" just means "whatever some species revered as deities somewhere in the universe, regardless of actual powers". I mean, some of the beings Gore killed looked like simple monsters or large animals.
Y’all needed a bonus round for the number of times Fate took his helmet off. Literally his only weakness.
It’s a weakness for Juggernaut in the MCU too. Without his helmet, he’s vulnerable to telepathic attacks from someone like Professor X.
Yeah but they did it here with Black Adam just to show Pierce Brosnan's face more. Its like Sylvester Stallone as Judge Dredd. Dr. Fate barely should have been taking his helmet off at all in the movie.
@@JR-ju3kj lol we know 🫠 that’s why I wanted the bonus round
Black Adam in this movie is basically the epitome of "Violence isn't the solution. Violence is the question and the answer is Yes." atleast for the first 20 minutes
I mean, that's why I liked it
yeah it was actually kind of refreshing
“But to get Etherium, you need to get the unobtanium…”. This whole dialogue is gold 😂
I was waiting for it all to end up with SchruteBucks.
Where the unobtanium is guarded by Medusa
@bowonetpreneur894w who invested in Dogecoin.
Guess they actually obtained the Unobtainium from Pandora.
This is the issue with the Snyderverse trying to introduce Anti-Heroes who kill people when they've already had Superman snapping necks and Batman ramming people with his car.
Tbf superman only snapped his neck cause he had to
The biggest sin was doing Black Adam like this with The Rock, when The Rock was the PERFECT guy to play Black Adam. Black Adam, despite him often being anti-hero when not villain, is extremely self-aware that he's an evil man... and is totally cool with that. Not just cool doing some evil things, he's cool with being actually evil. Part of what makes him interesting in his evil is that he does have some humanity, like the capacity to love, and certain lines he just doesn't cross because he finds no joy in crossing those lines. He's a super-dangerous anti-Captain Marvel (anti-Shazam).
That very last line made me spit out my beer, in laughter. "This might end up being one of the most infamous cameos of all time. But even so, it's still stupid" The way you said it was so funny 🤣🤣🤣
22:58 I’m with you. The movie is trying to tell us, a CPU readout identifies the demon Sabbac who has NEVER existed in reality before. Sure, I’ll just go with it 🤣🤣🤣
That's one helluva strong computer. They use it to render TRANSFORMERS movies.
😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
22:46 captures the much wider scope of this fatal flaw
Also if you slow the movie down at 22:47 you can clearly see that Hawkman’s mouth is not moving at all yet still reads the name “SABBAC.” 😂
Nothing will be more depressing than getting Cavill back as Superman only to have him booted out the same month no less.
To be clear, he has no contract.
truth.
It's also Henry's fault. Who in their right mind accepts a job only by a shitty spoken promise to get your job back with no contract?
You should seek counselling for your depression. I don't care whatsoever because I realize these are just movies.
@@bigd7696 Me when I take an exaggeration seriously.
No sin for the fact that either Black Adam or Dr. Fate could have zipped inside the barrier and taken everyone out in a split second when the shield went down for a split second?
Ok! 😂
Are we not going to acknowledge the fact that the Justice Society said they had to get Black Adam to say Shazam. As in, they already know about the Shazam powers?
because Kent decided to remember that Fate can see the future
That Aladdin part where you break out in song for a few lines. Gold.
The Justice Society facing off against Black Adam reminds me of a old comic where Hawkeye( Guy with bow and trick arrows) and Mockingbird ( Spy chick with batons) thought that they were about to face off with Goliath( a super strong guy who can grow to 60 feet tall and stands toe to to with the likes of Thor or Hercules) where Hawkeye says " Here's the plan. When the door opens, we hit him with everything we have, then we lie on the floor and have a bleeding contest.".
That is how the Justice Society should have expected this to go.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Goliath was the alter ego of Hank Pym (Ant-Man, Giant Man, Yellow Jacket) and Clint Barton (Hawkeye) at a point of time.
@@joejojo4805
Then, later, there was a villain who had been known as Power Man. He lost a fight with Luke Cage over the name and changed it to the Smuggler , then to Goliath when he gained growing powers on top of his super human strength. Now he is known as Atlas.
He was a minor villain when he was Power Man, but was imbued with the same ionic energy as Wonder Man and also his growth powers which made him far more powerful and able to go one on one with the likes of Wonder Man or Iron Man.
This movie is so unintentionally funny. In the cinema it was me and 2 of my friends as well as an old couple who left halfway through the film. Every eyebrow raise caused us to laugh as well as a character on a security camera, to which my friend said Fnaf. I lost the plot of this film by the end but I'd unironically watch it again because of how hilarious the serious bits were.
This did feel a lot like Aladdin because the guy who played Jafar was the villain in this movie too
I was waiting for CS to make that connection.
He does not have a beard.
This was one of those movies where I kept nodding in agreement to every single sin you guys added. In fact I think you should've added another sin for the history class in the beginning where they show the kid with his bald swole dad who is very clearly the Rock and still pretend like the kid itself is supposed to kid Rock
"Kid Rock"? You might wanna rephrase that.
🤭
Honest Trailers mentioned it.
also they should've added another sin for the fact that black adam suddenly can speak & understand modern english
If he has godlike wisdom then he actually should🤔
@@jiguneversaw3495 nah, it accurate though! He have the wisdom of Solomon, of course he gonna understand foreign language quickly, especially one that is easy as English. The moment he turn off his power, he went back to speak ancient Kandagh
This was the last movie I saw in theaters with my grandfather before he passed away…he loved it and kept asking questions because he enjoyed it so much and loved Superman returning…thank you for covering this cinema sins. I love this movie no matter what because of my grandpas love for it

Sorry for your loss. How old was he?
The first _Wonder Woman_ movie was the last film I saw in theaters with my dad before he passed away. So, I feel your pain, dude.
DC never disappoint.
It’s u, ur fans fault.
Where are u when Black Adam showing in cinemas? They kick off Henry cavill bcos we fans no supporting black adam 😢
Let’s make tis 1 billion so tat Henry can b back. Kick out james gunn plan.
@@Transkohmer hmmmmmmm... no.
The crack about the "five tones of the ship from Close Encounters" made me lol.
I bet Rock was allowed to break character and tell Henry, “ IT DOESN’T MATTER YOU CAME BACK FOR A POST CREDIT SCENE!!!” 😆
This movie would have been 10x more entertaining if he was just his wwe persona wearing a costume, referring to himself in third person and calling everyone jabronis.
"This movie is like Hancock."
But not nearly enough face slapping.
Or shoving guys into their butts
Hancock also had better humor because it was made before wokism.

Gotta love how that cinema sins specifically chose the funny eyebrow scene in black Adam as the thumnail
LMAO YES! It's like the epitome of memes in this era 💀
The rock still using the peoples eyebrow.
I nearly watched this movie just for Pierce Brosnan but I can't bring myself to sit through all the rest
What pisses me off is the fact the dr.fate takes his helmet off at any time
You missed a sin, before the zombie fight when the skateboard kid is doing his big rally speech and is basically whispering to the poeple.
You know, I love when horror directors make superhero movies
Aquaman was beautiful though. Lol
And then it turns out horrible

Actually, the scene where the fight is focused on destroying the walls is James Gunn rebooting the franchise…teaser.
This was my first DCEU movie, and I feel like even if I watched every single other one I would STILL have no idea what the hell was going on.
I think it's obvious that the ancient language is one of those rare languages that doesn't go up, down, left, or right but rather starts in the middle and works it's way out. She was reading it right the whole time.
09:23 *Adrianna's "Life is the only path to death" translation is incorrect, the correct translation is 'death is the only path to life' which the write(s) of Black Adam stole from the Hebrew Yisraelite scriptures.*
hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
@@hebrewyisraeliteyahawadahiteouch. I don’t know whether I should be relieved that they didn’t successfully steal a piece of Hebrew culture, or mad that they stuffed it up. Thanks for telling!
@SteampunkHorse *Hey Esau Edom, I want you to also know the good news is, it is written in the Hebrew Yisraelite scriptures that the BLACK ADAM is coming back to Earth* 🌎 *with the Gods & the angels to fight with you & all of the other heathens. Okay?*
The one thing that had me laughing more then any other was the end sequence, where the missile fires and the Jedi was like (brushes shoulder, unimpressed).
Jeremy is extra spicy in this episode. I'm here for it.
I LOVED the visuals of the Justice Society's powers (mostly Cyclone and Dr. Fate) and that might be the only good thing I can really say about the movie, but I will still say it.
Agreed, I loved that they took her clothes colors into the cyclone, it made it look different than other wind-type hero/villain aesthetics. And Dr. Fate's scene before he died was probably my favorite in the whole movie with the reflections and camera angles. I also genuinely liked his character, just wish they had shown more of him before they just poofed him out of the movie :/
It had some really kick ass music too. The final showdown after Black Adam returns had some especially rockin' music.
Except both the comics and this movie both explain that a literal god/an agent of order, Nabu, lives in Dr. Fate's helmet and that is what grants him his powers (in addition to the little bit of magic he can learn on his own [and also in the comics with help from warlocks like John Constantine, sorcerers like Zatanna, etc.])
The Aladdin moment killed me. 🤣
As much as this movie has its problems, I really like the take and outfit for Hawkman and wouldn’t mind the same actor for James’s DCU.
Same!! I actually like the look way more than Falcon from MCU! It’s cool!
No. Hawkman was arrogant, short-sighted, illogical, and kept saying the type of shit that villains say. Hawkman was awful.
@@thatgirl298 what does Falcon have to do with hawkman’s look?
@@jonathonrobinson6081 I get the first few things but how was he saying villain stuff?
James is gonna FUCK UP the DCEU like no one can imagine! He's already started - by sacking the two greatest proponents of the two greatest ever superheroes, so what makes you think he'll do ANYTHING worthwhile with the DCEU?
Pierce Brosnan is the G.O.A.T. as Doctor Fate.
I think they made a title typo during the writing process of this movie and it just never got corrected
The real title is: "A compilation of famous scenes and tropes from superhero movies recreated far worse than all previous depictions"
It amazes me Adrianna knew how to read Dovah
26:42 this definitely was the biggest sin that DC and the DCEU has ever done
Third biggest sins of all the movies they have done too.
Yes, yes, yes!!!! Henry Cavill IS Superman, and James Gunn just proved his GUARDIANS and SUICIDE movies were flukes, as he has just proven he knows NOTHING about real superheroes
Jeremy "omg so much exposition"
Enters magic counsel of wizards
"Well why are they glossing over this"
Lmao classic Jeremy damned if they do damned if they don't
Right....coz balance doesn't exist.
FYI. sarcasm
Yep. When he was describing how the checkpoint scene would have been better, I definitely thought "you'd have sinned that exact sequence of events because of the coincidence."
Jeremy can't even make Jeremy happy.
This is how I watch movies I can't be bothered watching
27:22 Is probably the funniest cut scene you guys have EVER put in a Sins video. LOL
Why could they make Chris Evans look more real than the rock in 2022!?!?!?
Not everyday that a movie gets made where the best part of the movie is the literal ending. Because we finally got Superman. Also Doctor Fate was freaking awesome!
They shouldn’t have killed him.
@@Itsmattzyeah, it’s a shame that everyone is gonna get recast after Aquaman & The Lost Kingdom, Blue Beetle, The Flash, & Batgirl if it was released!

He's one of my favorite characters and they did him dirty, made him seem inferior to Dr strange.
So I guess they didn't take out the bit from his Fast and Furious contract that says the Rock isn't allowed to lose a fight.
12:28 Quick drawing lightning like it’s the Wild, Wild, West!! Hilarious 🤣
The only enjoyable part about this film
Words can not explain how upset I am they tried to make black atom, the MAIN VILLAN of shazam, his own super hero movie. Thanks rock
Dr. SIVANA is Shazam’s main villain. Black Adam is a minor member of the rogues gallery who has the same powers
@@androzani84productions85 he feels like he should be his main villan
@@joshfarmer8408 Nope, it’s always a shadow/knuckle- sonic situation with them, in most iterations Sivana either frees Adam or links up with him somehow, they team up and fight Shazam, Sivana dicks over Adam, Adam and Shazam team up to fight Sivana.
Despite it being logical Adam has always been a minor adversary to Shazam, half the time he shows up in Shazam’s book is as an ally.
People have gripes about Adam not being a villain when he’s basically just Vegeta, in the grand scheme of things even though their rivalry was epic compared to the other villains he was just a minor villain to Goku.
Who was his first Animated Villain?
Adam.
I thought the movie ended when they put Black Adam in the underwater jail. But they was like nope, heres 30 mins of more movie out of nowhere
12:51 "Hammer and Anvil" is one of the oldest military strategies around, how the hell did you miss that?
I still can't believe they made a superhero of a mix of every literal superhero and made Dwayne play it. He probably crossed everything on his bucket list.
The biggest sin is since everything's getting Rebooted we'll never get to see a live-action Shazam vs Black Adam movie
Note: Henry Cavill's Superman died on the way back to his home planet.
Awesome Simpson Reference. 😂
Poochie nooo, I mean Henry nooooooo
@@lkgrave4959 I saw that one a lot on Twitter after James Gunn announced that DC was going to start from scratch.

The amount of characters in this film who off-handedly mention a backstory that would make a better film than this.
FINALLY! CinemaSins has come back to lay the smackdown on Black Adam!
Rip Black Adam to shreds, but I loved the movie so much I took my family to watch it in the theater twice! I really enjoyed the gratuitous violence.
This is the way.
Why?
I liked this movie as well, but I enjoyed Doom so there's that 😅
@@virgilhawkins5680 nice Mandalorian reference😂
Add a huge sin for not using Chekhov's Fist. That huge stone fist (probably broken off the Hurut statue) on a pedestal in the roundabout was just *begging* to be picked up and slammed into something, but NOOOOO. Why actually use the coolest-looking piece of scenery in the whole movie?
Can’t wait for Fast 10 to come out! “Can someone cut Tyrese a paycheck” lmfaooo
I really enjoyed the Justice Society!
I would rather see a movie with them then another one with Black Adam.
And yes I know all of it is cancelled now.
4:25 the movie Arrival does an _amazing_ job of demonstrating how translating languages is a shirt show.
Even translating modern languages can result in absurd results… like seriously put Japanese or Chinese into a translation engine and laugh at the outcome. My favorite was going to a temple in Japan and the sign said “On top of the plate do not ride in the shoes.”
Reading a far ancient language (even if you could) would _never_ give you a perfectly formatted English sentence. Even if you could translate the words it would likely take even an expert linguist days to decipher the actual meaning.
I'd forgotten how good Arrival was god damn
Every time I hear "Shazam", I think about Gomer Pyle.
hahaha
Woof, Marwan Kenzari just imported his Jafar persona from Aladdin for this, didn't he? Right down to searching for an artifact in a cave & turning into a red monster at the end. It's like choosing Perdro Pascal for the last of us because he just plays a gruff father figure in Mandalorian
You forgot the freebird solo in the list that makes everything great
"It's Okay, I die by electricity" was a line worth taking a sin off for.
For me, this movie peaked in Black Adam's initial release and fighting against the rogue force, showing the truly terrifying nature of the power of Shazam from someone who is not afraid to kill and experienced with the power as opposed to when Billy had it and saw it more as a plaything to show off and get views. Otherwise, aside from a few moments of amusing....black comedy and Pierce Bosnan and Hawkman, this was pretty unremarkable overall. And Rock's ego was at an all time high here, not even respecting Black Adam as more a foe for Shazam and quickly trying to set-up him going against Superman instead.
Great point. If he pushed for both, we'd probably still be getting a sequel.
I’d rather see Black Adam vs Zod. Both would have no hesitation to kill the other. I wish they had sent him to the phantom zone instead of killing him. Then we could have brought him back.
They tried to set up a Shazam vs BA movie but the Rock said no way, I want Superman
That Galaxy Quest moment had me cackling for 5 minutes 🤣
I freaking love that movie, everyone was ridiculous in their own way and the effects were so good that I didn't realize I'd first watched it in the 90s.
You can't act incredulous about the notion of the Champion sharing his powers when it was already major plot point in Shazam.
Shazam didn’t give his up in order to share his powers. Also his family didn’t go nuts with it leading to the supposed explanation of their failure with Adam.
The kid didn't gave up he's powers either, what they call "giving up" in this movie is the act of saying Shazam (which turns you back into your former self until you sumon your champion form again) he died becouse without their champion form they are still mortal.
Plus, it does not seem like the wizards are very communicative, he might have not known that he could turn back again. 🤷🏻

The way they nerfed Dr Fate was criminal. Bro has literally fought the Spectre to a stalemate. Even the Spectre has said something to the effect that Dr Fate is nearly as powerful as himself. Pierce Brosnan was the best part of the movie, he stole every scene he was in.
Agreed. I feel exactly the same way. Dr. Fate, like The Spectre, is one of the most powerful beings in the DC Universe( and he's even more powerful than Superman), and while I DID enjoy Black Adam and while I DID enjoy seeing Dr. Fate in the movie( and I couldn't agree more that Pierce Brosnan was the best part of the movie and that he stole every scene that he was in), they VERY MUCH criminally nerfed him in the film. He should've been able to handle BOTH Black Adam and Sabbac all by himself( and in a very short period of time, too), if you think about it. But then that would be a pretty short movie, so I get why they had to depower Dr.Fate but at the same time, I DON'T think that it should've been to the extent that he can't handle Black Adam and that he can get killed by Sabbac. They could've( and should've) still kept him overpowered like he is in the comics but just not to the point where you wouldn't have a story anymore. They didn't need to nerf him.
I swear there's like 5 or 6 times where Jeremy, who has already sinned the movie for too much exposition, sins it for not enough exposition lmfao
21:01 Truth be told: I actually thought the film was going to end up until this point but I forgot about that mid-credit scene where Superman shows up
While watching this movie I had no clue who the main protagonist was supposed to be
12:56
"Violence is never the answer, it's the question, and the answer is YES!!"
'Do you have someone who can hit heavy?'
'Yeah... '
"Superman? Martian Manhunter? Or ... who was that other guy who got his powers from yelling Shazam... what was his name?'
'Uh... no...'
okay the Alladin reference was pure gold
“Foie gras levels of force fed exposition!” F’ing brilliant
DC actually does have it's own Dr. Strange. Dr. Hugo Strange is a mad scientist Batman villain, who Batman killed at one point (back in the days when Batman carried guns and just killed people). In some recent adaptations he's been a psychiatrist at Arkham Asylum.
13:27 Well, guess that's one way comics can be better than movie adaptations of them. Despite how melodramatic narrations there can get, at least it's clearer. "Using magic of Made-Up-Name, Dr. Fate bends the air around him to his will causing it to collapse around Black Adam with the power of a thousand suns, making his whole body sear in pain beyond human imagination".
When Black Adam goes for a walk, he asked his enemies how's their health plan.
Apparently it was great.
ah the good ol helsing abridged reference. love that scene
