My own story, was home alone trying to get a snack together and practice cooking at the same time, felt thirsty so took a swallow from the milk in the fridge; all the sudden my throat had a spasm which made me unable to swallow or breathe. It passed after 4 or 5 seconds but made me feel like I could die if done again. I stopped cooking my snack and just laid down. Sipping small sips of water as it was hot as heck outside. Occasionally just intaking ice chips that were very small.
That moment of panic when you can't breathe, swallow and could have it go into your lungs is quite terrifying.
Have had this throat issue my entire life. It's quite painful and has to be dealt with everyday of my life. It sucks. Any liquid or food could get stuck so my siblings learned the Hylick(?) maneuver on order to help us out.
Learned small bites were best.
Moral? There are certain people who might randomly need help in order not to die from food or water.
Choking on food and realizing that there is no one to save you. Lucky I was able to puke it out. lol

Jesus that second story was truly terrifying! Image being stalked by an escaped inmate and barely escaping what would almost certainly end with being brutally murdered after an already brutal sexual assault possibly many times for days on end. That man was already desperate enough to attempt escapee as someone who has been to prison I can confirm most cats just wanna do they're time and get home. Anyone willing to fuck that up is either doing many many years or very possibly never returning home. That with the added from hormones due to being sober and no sex causing severe sexual frustration

This one time a person came to my door and knocked and proceeded to have a conversation with me..... just thinking about it freaks me out
I had an experience once, parents and siblings would be going to a party that I really didn't want to go to so they allowed me to stay at home the whole day.
They left early in the morning and 11 year old me stayed at home the whole day, plan was to play video games and watch TV all day.
About 3 hours in stuff in the house started to move around.
I never saw things move or heard anything, it's just that I would walk around and things are simply moved where they shouldn't be and definitely weren't.
I mean like coffee table moved from in front of the sofa to the other side of the room, my pillow on the kitchen chair, my glass of juice in the bathroom next to the sink.
I re-verified that the doors were completely locked and even put the key into the keyhole so that nobody can troll me and searched for anyone being indoors.
Instead of being scary it was just annoying.
It lasted for about 2 hours of 1 thing every 5 minutes and then it stopped.
No access to this place other than the door.

Mine is kinda silly, so I hope you get a little chuckle out of this.
It was around 5AM and I was sleeping in my room and my dog got up and woke me up. I thought he had to go outside so I was going to let him out and when I was walking down the hall I heard my back door lock jiggling and it scared the fuck out of me. After I grew a pair and lifted the blinds I found out it was my dad trying to get back in the house from work, our front door lock is messed up and sometimes won’t unlock so he went to the back and tried to use an old pair of keys that weren’t really working that well. That is certainly an event that happened
Edit: just realized I forgot my mom was home too so I’m not sure if this counts

Bullshit on the first story. That should’ve been removed by Reddit. Potatoes do not explode in the oven when they are baking. I never have and never will poke holes in potatoes for baking. Simply cook to 204F and they are delicious.
I’ve never had them explode. Then two at the same time and never since.

I wouldnt say scary, more weird at the moment, but possibility for scary was there. I moved to a my current place 10 years ago, about a week after I moved there was a random knock on the door, I looked out from the window next to the door, 2 random guys, never seen them in my life. Im a large human, have no history with anyone and my area is safe so I opened the door and it was pulled open and the dude was about to say something, then looked at me, "I, uh, is *the previous tenant here*?" Told them he moved 2 weeks ago. Guys apologized and left ranting "I fucking knew it, fucking *tenants name* They weren't big guys but looked like they have seen the world, so I have no doubt it was debt collecting.
So he was able to see you? Or did you had your shutters closed?
This is my mom's story but here goes: she was away from home and just eating dinner. A chunk of rice got stuck in her throat, beginning to choke her. After a few seconds she had the idea to do the hymlick(?) maneuver on herself using a corner on a kitchen counter. She succeeded but it was quite painful.
In those situations it's important to keep a level head. It will save your life. -my wonderful mom.
She's also a medically trained professional and has been doing it 36 years at least.
Please, people learn the hymlick(?) maneuver on yourself. You never know when choking can suddenly start. Especially if you have and throat issues.
