I will sometimes go for midnight walks, but I have a CCP for any creepy instances. I've never had to pull my side arm this entire time. I just open my jacket to show them I'm armed, and they leave me alone.
Frick. I was walking one night and saw a man far away just staring at the ground. I waked passed him and he said,” It’s beautiful, isn’t it?” He was looking at a dead bunny.
I’ve run at night almost exclusively for the last three years. I always get a creepy vibe from other people who are out at that time on country roads because there aren’t many reasons for people to be walking down a county road at 11-1 at night. Seeing flashlights when I’m in the woods is always the scariest thing. A couple years back I saw them light of a phone under some bushes that was switched off when I approached. Why was that person there and why did they not want to know I was there? 🥶
I walk my dogs in the wee small hours every night all year because its the only time I can avoid the rest of humanity. the scariest shit I see is always in the afternoons on public holidays when families hav been out drinking and the joy of the day has worn off and everyone is just drunk and fighting. It's a pretty regular thing here. Only things screaming at night here are the frikkin foxes. Lots of ppl get freaked out by tht and the screaming of some big cats can sound like a woman screaming too.
If my brother is reading this... this is why I don't go on midnight walks. Also sorry I didn't go earlier today but I'll go on a walk tomorrow/ Saturday
That last story about the Japanese girl I wonder if she's maybe autistic? I'm autistic myself and I have been known to do similar behavior like that granted not staring upwards usually just forwards, I know others that do as well we just kinda end up zoning out on our own thoughts sometimes and it apparently can seem kinda creepy at least according to my family lol
Same, I'm on the spectrum and can zone out for an entire walk or bus journey. No recollection of the journey, suddenly I'm just at my destination. Never get lost tho.
My mom was driving fast down a deserted road and saw a brief distant glint of eyes in the road ahead of her. She slowed way down and was soon relieve that she did. There was a black cow standing in the middle of the road.
One time i was walking alone at night, and when i bent down to tie my shoe, i heard what sounded like something being dropped and someone saying “shit” quietly. I looked up and saw an arm reach out from behind a parked car and grab a baseball bat that was lying about a foot from it. Needless to say I dipped almost instantly
I was out on a late night snack run. This dude drives up to me and asks if I need a ride. I’m like nah, my apartment’s right there. So the convenience store’s closed, and I’m going back home. Here comes our boy again, asks again if I need a ride. The CVS is open, he can take me there. I repeat no, I’m good. Then he asks me if I want a drink. Now you tell me what in the hell I look like accepting a drink from some stranger at 12:30 am, Ariel Castro. Dude finally left me alone, but I’m convinced I was one poor decision away from being abducted that night.
I was walking home from the pub one night, all be it a bit intoxicated. It was maybe a 10 min walk home, 2am in the morning im walking past a house, regular neighbourhood not a bad area. As I walk past one of the houses I heard the most blood curdling scream I have ever heard it started and didn't stop for a good 2 mins. I called the cops as I was walking along. I took note of the house number and they said they would send someone out. Turns out the lady was having a crazy night terror episode and was screaming bloody murder next to her husband. To my amazement the husband didn't wake up while she screamed right next to his ear. A little funny but when walking alone and you hear that when it's completely quiet..man I tucked tail and ran home after hanging up 🤣🤣
I was once walking around a lake in my neighborhood. it was like 2:30am and i was rounding a corner on the path and i look up, about 10-15 feet away was a deer standing on its hind legs. noped outta there fast as hell
I work till anywhere between 12pm - 3 am m, then head home. One night it was -30c and I was on my way home. There was a guy not to far behind me, dressed in only a hoodie and ski pants. (Kind of underdressed for the weather) So this guy suddenly lunged and started running at me. Freaked the fucking shit out of me and I spun around ready for a fight. Only for this guy to slip and crash head first into a spruce tree. I stood there for maybe? 5 minutes? Looking at this guy on the ground waiting for a fight before I decided to turn around and keep walking home. I always wonder what happened to him. Nothing in the local news.

Mine was a really big chicken that looked like a monster of some kind from a distance
I am the scary one
Why tf are y’all out at night alone anyway??
Honestly? Never seen anything scary, not that I can remember anyway. Plenty of eerie places, but nothing scary.
