The mede emperors are so cool! I wish people wouldnt hate on them and actually recognize how great they are. Like Titus mede II. just annihilated an army of angry cats and tigerpeople, wood- elves who are THE BEST archers in Tamriel and the high elves who could desintegrate people if they wanted to. COME ON PEOPLE! How could somebody who defeats armys of tigermen, Archers and mastermages not be worthy of the title of Emperor. I really hate how people listen to stormcloak propaganda...
The Altmer, Khajiit, and Wood elves don't exactly have the best track record when it comes to wars with human provinces. The Summerset Isles has been conquerored at least three different times by various emperors. While they have never been able to conqueror a human provinces. Valenwood and Elsweyr track records are even worse. They are constantly being conquered by various elven and human empires and Dominions. He also didn't defeat them, the treaty highly favored the Aldmeri Dominion, so he lost the war. He also let the situation in the Reach fester. The Forsworn conquest of the Reach was a direct threat to the future of the empire, but he didn't ever bother sending a small force to reclaim it. The Forsworn uprising all but cut off Highrock from the rest of the empire and created a power vacuum in Skyrim which directly lead to the Stormcloak uprising. Yet somehow he couldn't be bothered to plug said power vacuum which was a direct threat to the empires future.
There's no evidence of Khajit being involved in the Great War on the side of Aldmeri Dominion. Yes Elsweyr is a "client state" of the Aldmeri Dominion but like the Argonians are thought of as savage beasts by the Thalmor. The Aldmeri army is made up of primarily Altmer who are selective breeders and practice eugenics.
Long live the Empire, For the Legion! May Talos protect the true heroes of Tamriel! The Dragonborn will lead the Legion into battle and retake the Ruby Throne, the sit of the dragon.
+Nameless Hero As the dragonborn I helped the Stormcloaks gain independence from the Empire, and as the Listener of the Dark Brotherhood I ended the emperor's reign. So none of that can be taken as a given.
Mede Emperors actually trying to save The Cyrodiilic Empire. And actually Titus Mede II is a smart and careful leader. He choose to sign the treaty with the Thalmor to save the Men races from being enslaved by The Thalmor. The fact is, that the Mede Dynasty came to power not by "Mystical and Legendary Claim" like the Alessians, Remans, and Septims but rather just by overthrowing unpopular ruler during the interregnum and reforged the remnant of Cyrodiilic Empire is making this dynasty considered as very strong (in my opinion). That's why i never choose to join Dark Brotherhood in Skyrim
If the dragonborn helps the empire with all his thu'um and if he gets all the dragons to fight with him along side the empire the thalmor will lose hard plus the high elves have low birthrates so they can't build a heavy force like humans
@Sailor Sugar they say that the more intelligent you are and the more educated you are, the less children you have. Not to say people who have children are dumb, but statically speaking educated people have less kids. The high elves have the most educated society in Tamriel, and have many many years to use that knowledge and learn more. It's not uncommon to have a high elf woman not give birth to a single baby in her life time.
Thomas Sugg they die in the dark brotherhood quest either by the Dragonborn or someone who takes their place that’s how the side-quests fit in the games lore so long live the next empire
If the empire is destroyed at this point then that would lead to chaos and a power vacuum which the Thalmor would undoubtedly fill . If you dislike the current empire then why not want it reformed instead of COMPLETELY DESTROYED?
Well here's a idea, let's say the imperials won the skyrim civil war and Titus Mede II was assassinated. That could mean a better younger and stronger Emperor can lead the Empire. Some people believe Titus Mede II was the one to set things in motion for his assassin. Titus said this would enable a better stronger Emperor to stand up to the Aldemari Dominion
Well for all his faults, Titus Mede II is the best leader of the Empire. He was humbled during the Great War, he is hard at work to rebuild the Empire, and reforging it's Military. A younger man would jump at the change to take the Aldemari Dominion down a notch. But Mede the 2nd would restrain him self, knowing what the Elvis are capable of. Like I said he was humbled by the Elvis, and has since learned alot.
Good work guys! I have a thing to say about the Empire. It has been going downhill since the events in TES I Arena when Jagar Tharn did tons of stuff wrong.
I believe that babbet and Nazir survive regardless of wether or not you “destroy” the dark brotherhood, not that most people in Tamriel would have knowledge, just technically the order was preserved
I was replaying skyrim for the 100th time and noticed a piece of dialogue that I think many looked over. When speaking to amaund motierre, he say he intends to replicate the death of pelagius septim. Once Pelagius was assassinated his cousin(Kintyra Septim) took the throne as pelagius had no direct heirs. There is also the fact that he gives you an elder council amulet. Meaning that he or one of the members of the elder council are the cousin of the emperor is trying to size power.
In all likelihood even if it's not canon that the Dark Brotherhood assassinates him, he'll likely die of old age in a few years anyway. Best guess he's probably 75-80 years old as of the time of Skyrim. It's probably not canon that the dragonborn joins the Dark Brotherhood (in all likelihood regardless of the actions of the player, probably only the main quest is canon actions of the dragonborn; all the factional quests are probably actions of someone else). However there is certainly a plot to assassinate the emperor, and if the DB doesn't do it, someone else will. And even if they don't, he'll only live for a few more years anyway.
Even if you don't join the dark brotherhood he is fated to die. He set up his own death to become a Martyr. When you confront him on his ship he's reading a Dark Brotherhood oriented book, he also States he knew you were coming. Also on the ship you find a "sailor" in a room with 2 dead Imperial Bodyguards.
You're wrong about one thing, this video is nowhere near as long as it could be. I could listen to you talking about Elder Scrolls for hours. Truly outstanding.
You cannot destroy the Dark Brotherhood in Skyrim. You only get to clear the Falkreath sanctuary, and several important members of the Dark Brotherhood aren't there. Presumably, they're in the Dawnstar sanctuary, to which you never gain access if you decide to 'destroy' the Dark Brotherhood. Cicero and the Night Mother survive, for instance.
Cicero and the Night Mother can't rebuild the Dark Brotherhood alone in less than some couple of years, so the DB will be "offline" for some good time.
There are others who survive, too. You never get to take out that vampire girl either, for example. I haven't got a complete list but it's several members.
Dhindara Vrel In Skyrim, the only survivors I can remember now are Cicero and Babette (I don't consider the Night Mother, considering she's a ghost). I don't remember if we get to kill Gabrielle (I don't remember how to spell that Dunmer girl's name), so, in the best of the scenarios, we have 2 members and 1 keeper alive. No listener. I wouldn't give them less than 10 years to get their shape back.
Not to mention how... awful Cicero would be at recruiting. Cicero is barely tolerated by most of the existing Brotherhood. Even those who support the Night Mother find Cicero impossible to deal with, and the rest wish they could just kill him. Even if he were able to find people who could stand him, he can barely hold it together long enough to get the Night Mother to the Falkreath Sanctuary, and he doesn't hold it together long enough to do convince the other Brotherhood members to depose Astrid. He has the attention span of a squirrel, and that makes him an awful leader. Cicero would be great to have around if the player becomes Listener since he would re-enforce the 5 Tenets, but if it was just him, he would probably do awfully.
I think the emperor is assassinated by the brotherhood no matter what. Since even when you choose to destroy them you dont actually end up killing all of them. Also this siege on their sanctuary parallels with the brotherhood questline when the listener finds many of the assassins dead but then goes on to kill the emperor anyway. These events are so similar they can easily be left vague but with a bit more detail on how he died versus the idea that the circumstances surrounding his death are unknown. I think in lore it will be: mede II was assassinated by a dark brotherhood agent sometime following the supposed destruction of their sanctuary. This also leaves the dark brotherhood a viable faction in the next game.
The emperor is very old, it does not really matter if he is murdered or not because he most likely only lives a few more years if he is not killed. Bethesda most likely leave the facts vague about the death of the emperor in the next game (They will not confirm if he died murdered or old age) that way Bethesda would not bother those who chose any of the 2 options.
Look at it from Bethesda's point of view. Would you risk canonizing one of 2 endings knowing that basically with that action you would be alienating and bothering all those who did not choose that option? What is the use of giving you the option to end the brotherhood if the emperor is killed anyway? From Daggerfall Bethesda prefers not to get into trouble in that regard.
in skyrims time. when the great war ll starts if the empire wins I am fairly sure talos worship will be re-instated. Considering a lot of the empire's citizens were pissed off over the ban. After what they witnessed after entering the tower after winning it back mede made a good choice in the false peace treaty. The next one should be interesting be it a Mede
4:00 What is the source for that image? It's badass. In fact where did you get most of this Imperial LEgion Art? I love me some badass Imperial Legion Army battle scenes.
May I ask why the southern part of morrowind is shown as part of argonia? I see this often but ive never seen a source for that, is it specificly statet in the novels? If i remeber corectly its statet in the Dragonborn DLC that the southern part still gets raided by the Argonians but ive never heard them saying that they(the Argonians) offically controll it.
- Kagetane - It is very debated. At the time of the books it is still under their control, however at the time of skyrim we dont know wether they have left and merely raid them. Or if they still control them
Okey, thats good to know. Because ive not read the books yet so I had no clue why everyone says that. As Dunmer-Fanboy thats quite sadening. Anyway thanks for answeing, Im always happy to discover new small youtubers who makes such good (lore friendly) content as you.
After the eruption of Red Mountain most of southern Morrowind is cut off from whatever part of northern Morrowind is still inhabitable. The Argonians took advantage of that to raid and de facto conquer most of Morrowind south of Red Mountain. The books definitely confirm this although how strongly they still control it as of the time of the Skyrim game isn't officially confirmed by canon lore as of yet. Quite likely they still do, as the Empire and norther Morrowind simply lack any resources to provide any aid to southern Morrowind and the Arogonians have historical reasons to want to continue to control that area. To insert my personal opinion, kind of serves them right for how they've historically treated the Argonians really.
PTRS 41 that would make no sense if he is beastfolk or mer, wich he can be. Maybe being dragonborn makes him related to akatosh directly, and tiber septim was directly related to akatosh too, but i wouldn't say this makes him part of the dynasty. And he couldnt be related to the mede dynasty at all, becouse we must consider him being all playable races
Very nice lore video. Though one thing to note is that ES legends might not have happened. This is not to say it isn't Canon but because the campaign of the game is told through a narrator from a time after the events occurred. This brings up one of the most common writing techniques in the elder scrolls, the unreliable narrator. How can we be certain what the narrator said is truth? The entire story can be false, partially true with key events changed for the sake of the story, or it could be completely true. This is still highly debated in lore communities.
they got the offically ceded provinces and unofficially ceded provinces the wrong way round, still a great video though finally someone is talking about the second most interesting dynasty in tamrielic history in my opinion (after the septims of course)
i thought hammerfell, the summerset isles, and valenwood officially left whereas blackmarsh and morrowind left unofficially (morrowind due to the eruption and blackmarsh since it is nearly impossible to tame, i might be wrong tho and have it the wrong way round? elswyer probably left unoffically as well
kwadwo baidoo Hmhm, well it is more of an interpretation questions I think. Since there is no official lore (as far as I found) on how hammerfell, valenwood and summerset left the empire, thus I assumed unofficially
After hearing how the Emperor wanted to keep troops at the border (despite the wishes of General Tulius), that makes me wonder: When you ask the guy who hires you to kill the emperor why are they hiring you to do this he just says that certain people wish to see a change of policy in the empire; what if its the Thalmor who are telling this guy to hire you to kill the emperor, with the policy change being that of now moving troops away from the border (and into far away Skyrim) to make the Empire easier to invade again?
Theirs a theory that the Emperor assassinated himself. And at the end of the dark brotherhood quest the Emperor asks you to kill the guy who hires you to slay him. Basically silencing a key witness.
That theory has a lot of holes in it imo. Having himself assassinated would only destabilize the Empire even further. It leaves the Empire Leaderless and makes a mockery of thier spy network. Not to mention crashing the wedding escalates tensions on both sides.
How did Naarifin spy on the Emperor and figure out his plans? Easy, he had a secret device planted in the Imperial Palace known as Delta Sourc- oh no, wrong universe.
I feel like the events in The Dark Brotherhood questline are not cannon because it gives the player a choice in destroying or joining them, changing Titus Mede II's fate completely
Where did you get the map of the mede issue curious where I can get a copy to save for my computer and something I am working on that involves the map for better understanding
Could the forgotten hero be the champion of Cyrodiil? I'm guessing it might be a possibility sense he turned into Sheogorath at the end of the Shivering Isles DLC, and that being Daedric Princes are immortal.
@@eldawansy1129 I know that. What I was saying was at first I thought the fogotton hero was sheogorath known as the coc but I didn't watch the video about the forgotten hero, and thus made my previous statement irrelevant.
The dark brotherhood isn't destroyed so much as weakened severely. At least two members survive and take up in the dawnstar sanctuary. So maybe they will one day fulfill the contract?
Yeah indeed, nice find! That is another reason why he could die because cicero is still alive and the night mother would still recieve the contract. And perhaps then in some other way the DB might still kill Titus
@@ImperialKnowledge I have come to the opinion that the result of every quest is valid. It is just the individual circumstances that change. So Mede will die. He just may not die by your hands as a member of the DB. Why I feel this way is because I realized every quest is a story of the events of that time. This is how quests that seem to contradict each other can be just as valid. They are not technically happening to you. You are living them through the Dragonborn character but are in fact happening to another. It means precious few quests can be said to have been done by the dragonborn...but none the less may become part of his legend. Not unlike Tiber Septim.
@@jacobfreeman5444 Yeah I know! But I had not really considered this possibility, I just assumed he would die either way because of old age. While your explanation ties it together better in my opinion
It’s not necessarily unrealistic that some of the emperors became old , emperors normally even in the elder scrolls universe live a good life have good health care to call it like that and Tiber Septim also got over 100 years old before he died in the year 38 of the 3 Era
well to be honest the dragonborn shuld rule as an emperor (because he have the dragon blood the blood of akathos and probably reclaiming the amulet of kings as well) and finaly put an end to the Aldmeri dominion with the thalmor for ever.
Young Tullius What are you on about? Tiber Septim was a Dragonborn, hence his legitimate claim to the Imperial throne despite not being a descendant of the Cyrodiilic dynasty. In the same vein, Reman Cyrodiil came out of nowhere possessing the Amulet of Kings, which was thought lost, so even though he was not related to the Alessian Dynasty (as far as we know), he was a Dragonborn, and therefore had a legitimate claim. At this point, anything could happen, the Amulet could be reforged in a new covenant between the Dragonborn and Akatosh, although that would be hard to manage lore-wise. That being said, if Titus II's son is the successor, I pray to Akatosh he is a worthy one
Honestly the Thalmor, unless they can find another cheatcode magic artifact are going to get their asses kicked right off the continent in a second great war. The first war proved they could only win because they knew exactly where the Empire was going to send their forces, any battle they fought on equal footing was a loss for them
The Thalmor dabble in Daedric magic and dark arts. That one elf In Winterhold tried to capture that eye of Magnus. It's clearly obvious that the Thalmor are logistically weak and militarily weak unless they use Daedric "intelligence" Aka basically a deal with the devils.
I never got how the septim bloodline died out cause not only would daughters marry out giving people royal blood I think it would have been great if Titus was distantly related to the septims and have other claimants fighting for the throne
The Mede Emporers are not bad. But the Empire was made to be ruled by a Dragonborn. And not a normal Human. But hopefully the main character in Skyrim can become Emporer, and reunite the Empire. Maybe, he/she can become a Co-Emporer, and help Mede the 2nd defeat the damn Elvis.
I'm hoping that the last dragonborn will go on to become emperor after Medes death, him having the blood of the dragons and therefore potentially a semi-Septim.
It's more likely that Titus already has a heir. The Septim line died out hundreds of years ago during the Oblivion Crisis. Tiber Septim didn't just got the throne just because he's "Dragonborn", but from conquest.

You kill him in the DB questline..
Imperial dog.
KJ L He should have, the emperor was weak

Nameless Hero
Sorry no. Because nobody is going to be dragonborn after he/she dies.
Nameless Hero long live the empire long live the Emperor.
I did an ancestry search and found that hundreds of years ago in England, my ancestor’s last name was Mede.
*crowns you Emperor*
If your serious than that's just funny.
If the dragonborn helps the empire with all his thu'um and if he gets all the dragons to fight with him along side the empire the thalmor will lose hard plus the high elves have low birthrates so they can't build a heavy force like humans
kiara sanders The dragon born kills most the dragons...
kiara sanders woah dude you're gonna hurt yourself if you stretch that far
High Elves rely on magic. Magic = Stronk. Just nerfed in Tes Games for balance.
@Audio Sugar they are high and smoking can cause birth defects in children especially high elves who are high
I'm Glad Someone Else has Read The Elder Scrolls Novels. They're great and I'd recommend it if you like The TES Games
+Blade The Bear yes
Long live the Mede emperors long live the empire.
And destroy what Septim Dynasty creates and maintained so long ago?
Thomas Sugg they die in the dark brotherhood quest either by the Dragonborn or someone who takes their place that’s how the side-quests fit in the games lore so long live the next empire
If the empire is destroyed at this point then that would lead to chaos and a power vacuum which the Thalmor would undoubtedly fill . If you dislike the current empire then why not want it reformed instead of COMPLETELY DESTROYED?
tbh the dragonborn from tes 5 should be emperor as the dragonborn's claim is more legitimate considering their dragon blood
At this point, The Empire is becoming a kratocracy, but hey, it works.
David Komar yeah but we all know their the last Dragonborn, so they can’t because they’ll have no heir, that’s y we can only adopt in Skyrim
Frost Hop we’ll in game we adopt, I’m assuming the last Dragonborn either cannot have children or decides to adhere to the prophecy
Scotland Ball or maybe Bethesda didn’t want Skyrim players to go off and impregnate half of Skyrim and get the game rated A
Ermmm no. I don't think the Dragonborn has a claim to the Imperial Throne.
Also imagine you being the next Emperor
@@Inquisitor-Beals you know it's the best thing for the empire, another part of the restoration
@@podroznikzpustkowi4805 yeah, but imagine the next elder scrolls we could be the Emperor as the imperial character we could choose
I love Avarti. He cracks me up.
I think the Dragonborn may be the next Emperor.
How could Nazir survive if I killed him? Only Babbet survives.
@@noahtylerpritchett2682 where can you find him to kill him?
Basically the best intro of any tes channel, and the only reason I need to subscribe.
Intro = great
Content = shit
Jk
Perhaps we've judged them harshly. Noone could hope to live up to an example like Tyber Septim's.
Meaning that he or one of the members of the elder council are the cousin of the emperor is trying to size power.
lol I turned on auto captions and now it says Titus 'Meat' II
Man, this intro is truly impressive.
I like to think weather or not the dragonborn joins the dark brotherhood emperor Titus mede still dies
I feel like everything TES Legends tells us is pushing us to Hammerfell for TES6
The empire will crush the dominion I think. The only way they could win was to cheat. But when the chips are down the empire slaughtered them.
i read the "Lord of Souls" and "The Infernal City' same books and there cannon by beth🔲edas
King Jann Lee Disturbed66 yes
You're wrong about one thing, this video is nowhere near as long as it could be. I could listen to you talking about Elder Scrolls for hours. Truly outstanding.
I gotta say, I really love your intro.
I’ve been binging your channel lately and I wanna say you have great content and even inspired me to redownload Skyrim! Keep it up man :)
Nice to hear and thanks for the compliment!
0:27 where can I find that music
It's from the morrowind theme
César LZ. Thats a possibility but a boring one at that
Look at it from Bethesda's point of view.

The only thing we know from the Dragonborn DLC is that the Dunmer control Mournhold again. Any further south of that is unknown.
In Dragonborn DLC it is stated that the Dunmer have driven the Argonians out of southern Morrowind.
Since no one knows the Dragonborn’s origin, they should make it so that he is a very distant descendent of the Septum Family.
You get a sub for that beautiful ass intro alone
I love stories about the ones like Attrebus.
Just like you can become a "knight" in the Knights of the Thorn in Oblivion :D
Yeah, the story of Attrebus really kept me gripped. hope we learn more about him and his future reign.
Great video guys :) you'll have a lot more subs coming in soon
they got the offically ceded provinces and unofficially ceded provinces the wrong way round, still a great video though finally someone is talking about the second most interesting dynasty in tamrielic history in my opinion (after the septims of course)
kwadwo baidoo how did I get it wrong, I double, triple checked it before writing the script
i thought hammerfell, the summerset isles, and valenwood officially left whereas blackmarsh and morrowind left unofficially (morrowind due to the eruption and blackmarsh since it is nearly impossible to tame, i might be wrong tho and have it the wrong way round? elswyer probably left unoffically as well
kwadwo baidoo Hmhm, well it is more of an interpretation questions I think. Since there is no official lore (as far as I found) on how hammerfell, valenwood and summerset left the empire, thus I assumed unofficially
Black Marsh officially seceded and "drove the empire into the sea," to quote The Infernal City
Titus mede's son's name is attrebus as said in the infernal city by greg keyes which once worked for bethesda
That is a different Titus Mede

Mead emperors
FOR THE EMPIRE !
After hearing how the Emperor wanted to keep troops at the border (despite the wishes of General Tulius), that makes me wonder:
When you ask the guy who hires you to kill the emperor why are they hiring you to do this he just says that certain people wish to see a change of policy in the empire; what if its the Thalmor who are telling this guy to hire you to kill the emperor, with the policy change being that of now moving troops away from the border (and into far away Skyrim) to make the Empire easier to invade again?
Theirs a theory that the Emperor assassinated himself. And at the end of the dark brotherhood quest the Emperor asks you to kill the guy who hires you to slay him. Basically silencing a key witness.
That theory has a lot of holes in it imo. Having himself assassinated would only destabilize the Empire even further. It leaves the Empire Leaderless and makes a mockery of thier spy network. Not to mention crashing the wedding escalates tensions on both sides.
Those books are soo good.
Mateus Magaldi Yeah I liked them haha
Imagine Peter Jackson (LOTR) adapting them. A tv show would be great for them
Yeah, if they were going to make ANYTHING from TES into a show/movie, I would want to see the books first. Because it's already written lol.
Armoured Productions Plus books are better for movies, compared to games.
Eh, I like the dimension they gave to the lore, and I liked parts of them, but for the most part they drag on a lot.
Please Bethesda!!!!!!!!!! We care about Lore. You can do it!!!!!!!!!!!! make the elder scrolls we need!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
How did Naarifin spy on the Emperor and figure out his plans? Easy, he had a secret device planted in the Imperial Palace known as Delta Sourc- oh no, wrong universe.
The Second Great War we'll see in the sacking does Summerset Isles followed by another Oblivion crisis caused by the desperation of the High Elves
For the Empire! Talos guide us! 🤘
I feel like the events in The Dark Brotherhood questline are not cannon because it gives the player a choice in destroying or joining them, changing Titus Mede II's fate completely
Not really, the outcome of the questline remains the same.
Wait the interregnum was in the 2nd era. Unless there was a 2nd interregnum

I think the dragonborn in the time of Skyrim should be the emperor that would be really neat
I'll be honest, I hate how you talk, Imperial Knowledge, but you got good stuff to say so you got yourself a new sub.
well to be honest the dragonborn shuld rule as an emperor (because he have the dragon blood the blood of akathos and probably reclaiming the amulet of kings as well) and finaly put an end to the Aldmeri dominion with the thalmor for ever.
The Septim Dynasty is Tiber Septim's line, not any of the dragonborns and the amulet of kings is destroyed.
Dragonblood is no longer a must-have for an emperor
That being said, if Titus II's son is the successor, I pray to Akatosh he is a worthy one
you know, even if we destroy the brotherhood, a few member will survive. these few member could still assasinate the emperor some way or another
Honestly the Thalmor, unless they can find another cheatcode magic artifact are going to get their asses kicked right off the continent in a second great war. The first war proved they could only win because they knew exactly where the Empire was going to send their forces, any battle they fought on equal footing was a loss for them
The Thalmor dabble in Daedric magic and dark arts.
That one elf In Winterhold tried to capture that eye of Magnus. It's clearly obvious that the Thalmor are logistically weak and militarily weak unless they use Daedric "intelligence"

Could the secret brother of titus 1 be in the bruma lodge
I'm hoping that the last dragonborn will go on to become emperor after Medes death, him having the blood of the dragons and therefore potentially a semi-Septim.
NightWolfWillis Who knows? Maybe the Dragonborn will become High King/Queen?
It's more likely that Titus already has a heir. The Septim line died out hundreds of years ago during the Oblivion Crisis. Tiber Septim didn't just got the throne just because he's "Dragonborn", but from conquest.
What if we don't want our character to do so?
Being Dragonborn doesn't necessarily have anything to do with heredity, see The Book of the Dragonborn in-game for details
