Thanks for the shoutout! Love your work. Yeah... that game was brutal. I do not miss the Blaine Gabbert years at all
He did but they played him for kapernick...that year they were like 6 and 0 goin up against the bears who were undefeated...Smith was hurt and joking came in...and it was a wrap...they could along with Alex
I love your channel keep it up your gonna hit the 1 million
This guy’s videos are great. If you like KTO you probably will like his videos.
🤣🤣🤣🤣💀Blaine gabbert
4 Replies? Now it’s 5
Imagine losing 62-7 to a team led by a guy named Dick Shiner
Yeah that’s very unfortunate 😂😂😂
LOL
That has to be the biggest L ever taken
I’d quit and lose hope that I’ll ever amount to anything if I lost anything to a dude named Dick Shiner.
Bro y’all need to stop I’m dying over here 🤣🤣
Getting clapped by a guy named Dick Shiner is insane
Dick Shiner clapped them Saints cheeks that's for sure
Sounds like a dude that got pumched in the shaft. (Got another dick shiner at the bar again)
Alex Smith has always been underrated. He definitely grew into a great quarterback, and it was a shame he suffered such an awful injury
He was never great
You’re an alcoholic it doesnt matter what you say
Stop the cap dude 😂
Not "great" average
Underrated is correct
My first NFL game I ever attended was Randy Fasani's Panther debut versus the Bucs in Charlotte. I was 11 years old and I was hoping for an exciting game! The final score, 12-9, all field goals. I was disappointed but I realized then that you don't go to an NFL game to watch a game but to be part of an electric atmosphere. Despite the lackluster game, it is a fond memory of mine.
My first was the mike white game against the bengals last season
The only nfl game I’ve been to was Bills @ Panthers a few years ago. (Tyrod vs Cam)
Final score was 9-6, all field goals. Longest play was a 20 yd pass interference
@@awesomerob8157 Oooof...
Mine was in 2004 Dallas versus Washington at Dallas and the old Texas stadium I don't even remember the score...I was 12 or so
My first NFL game was Chargers at the Panthers while I was in college. It was cold, rainy, and the Chargers lost bad.
I will never forget Nathan Peterman’s first game. I had the Chargers’ defense in fantasy that week and just racked up the points because of him.
I remember that game, because I was constantly updating my dad to tell him Peterman had thrown another interception in the 1st half
He actually won us a game in the playoff hunt in that snow vs the colts he is garbage but atleast he won one game lol 😂
@@danielventura8118 no mccoy won yall that game
I Remember bomani Jones roasting him for weeks calling him the Peter man. Tyrod stays getting screwed :(
@@Augustin54 I felt bad for Tyrod that season. He was playing moderately well, but Buffalo wanted him gone😭
Alex Smith’s story is very interesting, and is honestly impressive considering his circumstances at times. During his 8 years as a 49er the team went through 2 QB coaches, 4 head coaches and 6 offensive coordinators
He has one of the most amazing NFL stories. I saw a video going over his injury and recovery and it made me cry. The guy suffered so much, was near death, and still found his way back.
He's the DeMarcus Cousins of the NFL...
He shows what happens when someone has a good coach. That comeback season was when he had Harbaugh as coach, and when the Niners threw him under the bus to hitch their wagon to Colin Kaepernick, he got traded to the Chiefs where he performed well for Andy Reid.
Brandon Weeden isn’t the only “man amongst boys” to light it up in college football. Chris Weinke was about the same age as Weeden when he won The Heisman
And baseball
Jason white also. He was like a 7th year senior when AP was a freshman lmao
He got trapped under the giant pre-game flag. Doomed from that point on...
And then they amounted to nothing!
The timing of this video after Nathaniel Hacketts debut is perfection 😂
that was the most embarrassing bit of coaching I think I've ever seen...
@@xaninuax Coming from a broncos fan yep
fr
No doubt about that, I think Hackett made himself a household name just by how baffling the game was handled lol
@@OkagaCalifornia why what happened? I been out the country so I'm out the loop
Hall of Famer Terry Bradshaw, the 1st overall pick in 1970, started the first 7 games of his rookie season before being benched for being so awful. His rookie season's stats:
13 games (8 starts), 38% competition percentage, 6 TDs, 24 INTs (leading the league)
He was so bad that in the 13th game he is credited as playing, he only played as the team's punter - something he hadn't done all season.
Troy Aikman 0-11 9 TD 18 INT
Alex Smith to me is proof that some teams need to be a little more patient with developing quarterbacks.
I agree in theory but if your QB is taking more than 3 years to develop, who knows if he ever will?
you need coaching stability and no injuries.
Terry Bradshaw is even better proof. He didn't have the maturity and mental toughness to lead a team and call plays right out of college as a rookie.
Everyone is different.
Football should have had a minor league system years ago.think about all the small school players who get overlooked.
Tom Tupa's something of a local legend in my hometown. Dude led the high school team to a state title and scored the NFL's first 2-point conversion with the Browns (who played 10-ish miles away), and then he came back home to work in the recreation department once he retired from pro play.
First 2-point conversion? The Browns never had one prior to him?
@@eriksoto8473 I think he is talking about the first 2 point conversation in the NFL period in 1994, which the Browns scored.
Imagine the nfl community without kto, my guy is the emplemon of football content
???? The nfl would be fine
That’s the best explanation I’ve ever heard
Now that you mention it, you are absolutely correct holy shit
Flemlo wraps too
And set the edge
You should've included the Brian Flores debut. 59-10 to Lamar Jackson and the Ravens.
I’m surprised nobody ever talks about how the bills finally made the playoffs after 17 years and on a game winning drive the man that would have easily gotten them the win, Tyrod Taylor, gets injured and Nathan Peterman, the man that threw 5 INTs in one half in his starting debut, comes in the finish the drive and on his first pass throws an INT and loses the game
I mean Tyrod wasn't guaranteed to score on that drive at all. Our offense wasn't that great, mostly made the playoffs on our defense. But yeah, he was infinitely better than Peterman.
@@al_s93 his comment is about the irony of Peterson getting another chance and STILL throwing an int.
Was his second pass IIRC, after picking up 2 first downs
@@jtpromolab that's why i always found it funny that people said kap wasn't in the league because of his talent. no matter what you think about his political opinions, there's no way he deserved to be on a team less than nathan "five pick" peterman
Peterman is poo
10 minutes into the video and I'm still in tears over Dick Shiner 😂😂😂😂
Losing to a guy named Dick Shiner is every self respecting man’s worst nightmare. I don’t know what I’d do after such a tragedy…
Love the JaguarGator9 shoutout...this is as close as we're going to get to a KTO/JG9 crossover and I'm here for it.
As a forever chiefs fan, we thank you Alex Smith. You’re a legend
I don't know what's worse, losing 62-7 or losing to Dick Shiner
6:08 99.9% of us instantly thought that was Michael Vick😭
Can we talk about how the Saints lost by 55 to a man named "Dick Shiner"
My hometown of brecksville Ohio is where Tom Tupa currently resides. I’ve worked with him and he’s such a cheerful, wonderful person. He doesn’t let the downs of his NFL career bother him. He’s widely respected in our community and we love to talk about his game with the jets. Tom Tupa is a legend in our town.
It’s crazy to say, but I’m honestly not sure which game for Nathan Peterman was worse: his five INT game against the Chargers or the 47-3 loss against the Ravens to start the 2018 season in which he had a 0 passer rating, they didn’t pick up a first down until the second half, and he got benched shortly after halftime.
My first Browns game was Nick Chubb’s 92 yard touchdown run against the Falcons. Makes me feel lucky for some of these games people had to attend that was their first experience in person haha
I was rollin when ol dude pulled the mans pants down lol 4:23
Props to shouting out JaguarGator9. He really is one of the best football youtubers along with yourself sir. Keep it up. 🙌
Thanks for taking your time to dig in deep with these researches for your videos. Keep up the good work. Hope to also see the best and worst debuts ever by a running back, a wide receiver, a tight end, an offensive lineman, a defensive lineman, a linebacker, a defensive back, a kicker and a punter.
I'm not even a 49ers fan, but that Vernon Davis TD at the end will always give me chills. Such an amazing game.
As a saints fan that Davis catch left me speechless, greatest offense of all time forgotten about
The Football Gods took Alex Smith's leg but he still came back and went out on his own terms. Dude is a total G.
You should do a video on how the fullback became so obsolete. I know you’ve touched on it a few times in prior videos, but I’d love to hear your in-depth perspective on it.
Perhaps you should have mentioned that the 49ers passed on some guy named Aaron Rodgers (a lifelong Niners fan) to select Alex Smith. What might have been?? At least Alex ended up having a long and pretty decent career.
That might be the last time the Jets have won a game by 2 scores lol. Also the Peterman start was such a huge joke Cool vid KTO as always
It’s a shame what Alex smith went through all the talent and he couldn’t find a coach until harbaugh, then he balled out with Andy Reid
Football Battle Touchdown! helped me through some very dark times in my life. I wasn't able to eat. I wasn't able to sleep. I wasn't able to satisfy my wife. I was a wreck. I was desparate. Then I found Football Battle Touchdown! and all of the pains, stuggles, and failures melted away. Football Touchdown! Real Life gave my life new meaning. It opened my eyes to a new way, truth, and life. I was saved by the power of Football Jesus Touchdown!!
Lol, what?
The Alex Smith saga gives me hope that Jordan Love will still pan out and become at least a solid starter after rodgers eventually goes.
Alex Smith had no chance of being a successful quarterback in San Francisco that year (or any under Mike Nolan and Mike Singletary). He had no support that first season due to the lack of support from the offense and the lack of defense. They were inept but I'm just being nice
Yo new kto video let’s goooooo
Bro after the 3rd Nathan Peterman interception thrown 😂😂 you gotta wonder what the coach was thinking
Alex Smith was the QB I grew up watching. Always thought he was highly underrated. That playoff game that he threw “The Catch 3” was the first playoff game I ever remember watching and very well could be the greatest one I ever wathced
was talking about it today with my brother. How Vernon Davis was crying after that 2nd TD (he also had like around 180 yds) and ran into Harbaugh's arms like a child that just wanted to do his father proud, and Harbaugh had the perfect reaction with the way he hugged and reassured him like "you absolutely did everything we asked of you, and we couldn't be prouder" going above and beyond with how well he played.
Tupa becoming a punter just makes sense. He likes giving the ball to the opposing team.
“Play to your strengths” they said, and he listened
KTO delivers great content. Keep on grinding. Glad I'm subscribed to your channel. Football rules 💪🏿💪🏿🏈
I remember seeing Weeden being drafter, i just got up and went for a walk. I thought 28 year old qb was to old to draft 1st round, and as someone that is 28 now I still think that. I wanted to see Colt Mccoy get bit more time. While Mccoy is not a starting level qb, he still is better than half qbs Browns have started since they drafted Weeden.
I agree at least McCoy lasted in the league as a backup. Anything else would have been better than johnny manzel . Waste of a pick.
As a Bills fan I still remember when the Bills drafted Peterman, I think I was watching it live. I thought he was going to be great, boy was I wrong
AYE my man JaguarGator getting some attention, very underrated.
Very true love his college football stuff
It should be noted a huge reason Peterman even started was because the Bills did not want Tyrod Taylor anymore and literally sat him in favor of giving Peterman a chance. The Bills were still in playoff contention too btw, so that made it even more confusing.
I have great memories of that Niners/Saints game. Back and forth all day on that one. Kudos to Alex Smith and that Niners team on that day.
So, Favre too has thrown 6 interceptions in a game. Here’s a hypothetical: what if he threw those six interceptions in his debut instead of after he already won 3 MVPS and a super bowl? History would have been very different.
Sorry… had to pause the video when you said “Dick Shiner” just to post a comment - because of the hilarity. I can just imagine your thought process on how you were going to say that name. Hahahahaha! By the way, you rule, KTO. :)
Nathan Peterman is a legend!!! For all the right reasons!!
You can’t have a worst debut than Nathan Peterson
Jhonny footballs was pretty trash considering he was so hyped and browns were in a position to make the playoffs
We gonna just ignore the Jaguar lineman pantsing the Chiefs defender at 4:26
4:23 bud
What about that time during the pandemic where the nfl’s contact tracing prevented anyone in the qb room from playing, so they started a WR at qb, and it went about as you’d expect.
Peterman the 🐐
My favorite part of your channel is at the end, when someone makes a boss move and the music kicks in… Classic. (go brownies!)
Joe Burrow almost became the new INT GOAT this week.
That Wasn't Burrow's debut game and the dude is a certified QB. He could throw 6 INT and still be the starter all year.
I played against Tupa’s sons in basketball and football in middle school and high school, if I knew Tom Tupa did this I would roasted them on the court lol
I actually downloaded Football Battle… I will tell you guys how it goes in an edit
Nate Peterman
With the patience the 9ers front office had in Smith, I always wonder what other QBs labelled as busts just needed more time to succeed. I get he was pick no.1, but Lord, that rookie season was unforgivable, lol.
KTO I wrote a comment on this video a couple days ago thanking you that you talked about Alex Smith... Now I wrote my comment very long and it's because Alex Smith is one of my favorite players of all time.... Alex Smith story and career is something very interesting and he can inspire and teach us a lot and I've been hoping that the football life will do a episode on him but I don't think they're going to so I was hoping to go that you do a video on Alex Smith.... There's so much to talk about Alex Smith and his journey to being the number one draft pick in 2005 to retiree just a year ago... No as of 49er fan there were times where I got frustrated with Alex Smith but I wanted him to be successful.. and being a boy overall in a draft and so much pressure on you not to mention that your career will always be linked to Aaron Rodgers who had to wait almost 3 hours in Green room and people made a huge deal about that and I thought that was so dumb and overrated what's so damn hard about singing in a seat for 3 hours where there's players who don't even get drafted and other players that get cut in college and other players who don't even see a varsity football field yet to see a NFL football field... You can talk about how Mike know and drafted him and how they bumped heads and my feeling even publicly criticize and question his toughness.. that they expected Alex Smith all by himself to turn a team around that was 2 and 14 the year before... You can talk about how his debut against the colts like you did were awful and his number is in his first rookie year was one touchdown and 11 to 18 interceptions... The following year he should promise in the after that he got hurt and was done for the season when Mike know and hire Mike marks Alex needs lost that competition to JT O'Sullivan and then when Mike knowing got fired and interim head coach Mike singletary took over and even called out one of his players Vernon Davis people saw also that he was getting to be a bus but him being thrown into the locker room by Mike singletary during a football game was the best thing that ever happened to Davis and he became one of the best tight ends... Then when Mike singletary became the head coach he had to first round picks and people didn't know if he was going to use one of those pics to sign a quarterback but no with a 49ers did sign to offensive All pro Mike upatti and Anthony Davis who was also a very talented offensive lineman.. and they went ate for eight and The following season it seem like they regressed and you had that infamous Sunday night against the eagles where Mike singletary is chewing out Alex Smith and at the end of that season Michael singletary gets fired and makes comments that you need a quarterback and Alex Smith contract was up and he and 49ers thought that there will be the end of their time together but here comes Jim harbaugh who not only thought that Alex Smith was a good football player he convinced him to come back and play for him... Because if you to a different team most likely he'll be a second string.. I remember the fans and the media were criticizing Jim harbaugh for that but that 2011 season is special.. because that was The rebirth of Alex Smith and people say that he was just a game manager you know what maybe they're right he was a game manager but he was the best game manager.. and that's when the 49ers won their division went to the playoffs against a powerful offense that set records New Orleans saints and Alex Smith had a 49ers went toe to toe with Drew Brees and did the catch three with Vernon Davis and if Kyle Williams did not fumble one of those two turnovers he did 49ers will not only one the NC championship but would have won the super bowl in my opinion but the following year Jim harbaugh dresses Colin Kaepernick
. In the second round and the very beginning before you guys played really good but Alex Smith got a concussion and the following game against the bears Colin Kaepernick took over and torture the best defense and Jim harbaugh decided to go with Colin Kaepernick.. it was said that Alex Smith understood it he didn't get mad about it and he understood that it wasn't because he was doing a bad job it was the fact that Colin Kaepernick had gave it before 9 hours more options because he was a better runner.. then they trade into Kansas City he helps Kansas City turn their franchise around and mentored to Patrick mahomes and goes to Washington it's that near death injury that not only there's a good chance he would have lost his leg but his life but he's for that he'll be back in the football field which he did..... And he won't come back player of the year.... Man I did it again I wrote my long comment but please Mr kto you can make a great video on Alex Smith and you can go to details when you do your research and I promise you you won't be disappointed and you can learn a lot from Alex Smith for an example if you're in a situation that you don't like or it's very hard.. either you can have a bad attitude or you can suck it up and make the best out of it that's what Alex Smith said normally if any player was in his possession he would have either been forced into retirement because no teams would want him or you were quit voluntarily for which most people would have but he never gave up.. and if you need money to make a Alex Smith video please just give me the cash account and I'll send the money right away
I was shocked when Bill benched Tyrod Taylor. Don't bench qbs that are winning you games while you are in a playoff hunt. Especially not after you had years of not making playoffs with qbs that could not hit semi truck if they stood 10 feet away from one. My team is Cleveland Browns (not a fan of Deshaun), you can guess how "well" my team did that season.
I think the Browns are underrated this season.
Still don’t understand why the bills benched tyrod for peterman 🤦🏻♂️
And why Peterman is still in the NFL not Colin Kaepernick. These rich NFL executives suck at their jobs. Peterman is not a NFL QB
I have to nominate Johnny Football, he was in a position to keep the Browns in the playoff race. I wrote about this game for fun. In there I said: “So how did Manziel handle this trial by fire? I’ll put it this way, he looked worse than Uncle Owen and Aunt Buru after a stormtrooper visit.”
Raider nation winning the championship
Lol we got Petermans autograph (because no one else was signing) next to Shady (Lesean McCoy). Poor shady. He didn’t deserve to be stuck next to Peterman.
Completely forgot about Peyton Manning's rookie season. Dude holds the record for most interceptions in a season
I knew Brandon Weeden was not going to be good in the NFL. He, like Chris Weinke over a decade earlier, entered the league in his late 20s. You pretty much have no upside at that point.
Shock Jaimes Winston wasnt grilled as in his first 5 years he was known for his famous turnovers. And his 5th year he established the 30-30 club
I'll say this, I'm impressed with Kevin O'Connell's debut.
No one gonna talk about how Chief's 94 whole ass was out at 4:23
AYO
In order, Montana to Clark = 'The Catch", Young to Owens = "The Catch II" and Smith to Davis = "The Catch III" 🏈😮💨
Crazy how Kareem hunt didn’t fumble once in 4 years as the starting running back and then fumbled on his first play in the NFL
Alex Smith's career being turned around is because of Jim Harbaugh, just to make sure nobody forgets that. 2011 and Harbaugh's first year was the first time watching the 49ers was bearable in a long fucking time and there's a reason so many players retired and left when Jed York and Trent Baalke started blowing it all up out of spite.
I haven’t even watched the vid yet and i know the worst debut was Nathan Peterman
James Cook has entered the chat.
Alex had like 5 different OC during his time there
Are you kidding? There was a man named Dick Shiner?!? Those must've been the cruelest parents of all time to name him that
Gus Bradley was pretty horrible but it really didn’t help that he had Blaine Gabbert. One of the biggest first round stiffs at QB of all time.
I love the way you end your videos it’s the reason I watch the entire video through. Great work. The content is awesome keep it up 👍

4:25 Please God Tell Me I’m Not The Only One Who Saw 94’s 🍑
I once watched Alex Van Pelt and the 1-10 Bills battle the 1-10 Panthers led by Chris Weinke. The Bills won their only home game that season after overcoming a 24-6 deficit at halftime. I had season tickets and went to every home game that year.....ooof.
Who laughed when he said “beaten down by ‘Dick Shiner”? 🤣🤣
Graziani Paziani Packer Nation?
...I'll see my myself out
Always Top quality by KTO. You had to bring up Weedon tho haha
nobody gunna talk about that unreal snag by Brown on the eagles 🔥🔥
Quality over quantity
As a bears fan we beat the nines solely based on the fact that Peterman is on the practice squad.
4:22 bro got pantsed
Put some more respect on Tom Tupas name! He is a super bowl champion afterall
Really hate that the gameplay clips are shrunk to a smaller size. What a terrible idea.
Peterman had one of the greatest starts in NFL history!
How is nobody talking about the absolute CAKE at 4:24 lmaoo
Instead of getting a 28 yr old vet let's get a 28 yr old rookie lol
