To me, it sounds like that the public defender was asked to do something that was unethical or immoral in representing his client. He really couldn’t say it due to clients confidentiality. We’ll never know, but I wonder what it was that his client told him to wear, he didn’t want to represent him anymore. It had to be a lie or distortion of the facts in whatever case he was involved in. Lawyers get a bad name, but in this instance, this public defender did the right thing. San Antonio is lucky to have a public defender like him.

Kudos to the 1st lawyer. He was amazing in proceeding with obvious problems the client gave him and being denied the ability to withdraw as the attorney. He fought for his client greatly in spite of being uncomfortable.

One of those “I’m paying you so you have to do and say as I tell you” clients. Why bother with a lawyer at all since he seems to think he’s more knowledgeable than someone who’s studied and practiced law. Breaks the law but wants tax payers to foot the bill for his tether and testing costs. The judge waived those but it should have the conditions that once he’s employed he’ll then take over payments.

When the attorney's say "The defendant has been in recovery a long time" what they mean is that the defendant hasn't been caught drunk in a long time. Probably just a matter of luck.

I find no reason for anyone to drive drunk! My adopted mother drove drunk with me in the car! My daughter died in 2018 and my husband died in 2019 and I never drove drunk! Horrible happenings in life do not give you permission to drive drunk! I think drunk drivers should lose their drivers license forever! I was adopted at birth by a wonderful adopted father and an alcoholic adopted mother. My daughter died from non-Hodgkin lymphoma in 9/27/2018 that she got from going to work near the World Trade Center on 9/11. My husband died on 2/12/19 two days before our wedding anniversary.

The best advantage of so many zoom hearings during the pandemic was putting the judge in possession of a mute button. I bet some of those judges really miss that ability with some of these in person defendants.

I LOVE Judge Boyd! In addition to being extremely professional, humble, empathetic and that she takes absolutely no nonsense...I LOVE that she has her flowers and handbag in camera view ALWAYS!! There's a handful of Judges that I watch on a regular basis and Judge Boyd is my favorite!

I find no reason for anyone to drive drunk! My adopted mother drove drunk with me in the car! My daughter died in 2018 and my husband died in 2019 and I never drove drunk! Horrible happenings in life do not give you permission to drive drunk! I think drunk drivers should lose their drivers license forever! I was adopted at birth by a wonderful adopted father and an alcoholic adopted mother. My daughter died from non-Hodgkin lymphoma in 9/27/2018 that she got from going to work near the World Trade Center on 9/11. My husband died on 2/12/19 two days before our wedding anniversary.
