@mamadee2612 you are so right. I love how she goes ‘off record’ at the end of a case to give encouragement and to tell them what services are available to help them be successful moving forward. This is true of most large city courts unless a trial is occurring. As a former CPS worker in Harris County (Houston), I called it organized chaos. Everyone is sitting and waiting for their case to be called, with the attorneys flitting in and out. Unless you are before the bench, it is a waiting game. I would bring my laptop and work because I expected to wait 2-5 hours each time.

Now sure what yr she retired from the DA office...i absolutely love that woman and her heart and how she cares so much for the victim's families and in her time was willing to face and fight the devil himself to get the ppl who have hurt and harmed innocent families...she doesn't give 2shits how she was so chastised and told how wrong she was to take her cases to the point she had to, to get an offender the conviction they deserved and caused themselves... I see her as one of the strongest females I've ever seen prosecute a case especially in a male driving field of work during most of her time, when she was in the DAs office they made the women wear only skirts and dresses when in court, that's how male driven it was during most of her time there..anyways yes I think very highly of her and love to see the cases she prosecuted.

Can you imagine the trauma and guilt of the older siblings if something bad happened to the little ones on their watch?! I understand that they probably don’t have the money for an adult babysitter or suitable adult to be with the children, but surely putting them in school is a better choice. 🤷‍♀️ At least they’ll be supervised for a larger portion of the work day, and in turn the older ones will have a lot less pressure. I don't agree about the grandma situation. the granddaughter has opened her home up to care for the grandma - why should she and her husband give up their bedroom? It would be ideal for grandma to have her own room, but it's not possible in that small of apartment.

Well are you going to find it out by this afternoon or tomorrow?
What the prosecutor SHOULD have said is something to the effect of...
Again, your honor, I JUST got this case. I really have no way of knowing at this exact moment how long it's going to take to find out. Other than his name and what he's being charged with, I know nothing about this case.
Which is a 100% reasonable answer on his part personally. No one can ever know how long it's going to take them to find something out in advance. You have to troubleshoot the problem first, and troubleshooting is the part that is always unknown. Once troubleshooting is complete, THEN you can tell that other person approximately how long it will take to resolve the problem. Maybe he can find out the answer in five minutes, but what if it's going to take four days to resolve it? The first thing he has to do is locate, if possible, the previous prosecutor. How long is it going to take to track that other person down? When you find that person, you have to ask them about the problem. What if that person has no idea because it was something that happened before the case was theirs and they never even got to look at the file at all because they only had it for an hour. Now you have to find out who that previous person was, and then try to contact them. But that's not going to be easy either, because what if it turns out that this case has been assigned six times in the last 24 hours? What if it turns out that the person that was taking care of it the day before yesterday was in a car accident on the way in to work yesterday morning and is in a medically induced coma? Or maybe it's a female and she is currently at the hospital screaming her head off because she's trying to push an eight pound bag of water and bones out o, well yeah, you get the idea.
Obviously, that isn't what happened here, but I'm just trying to illustrate a few could-bes or what-ifs.
She's asking a question of him that can't immediately be answered with any degree of crertainty, and he allowed her to do that to him.

the judge is way out of line in the 1st case with her concern about the defendant having children. Does Texas approve of castration, clinical or otherwise? If not, then what do you want?? He shouldn't date after serving his time and if he does, he shouldn't be intimate???
