I have to say after watching a bunch of Judge Simpson videos... I have learned a lot of what he is about to do based on his body language. He would be a horrible poker player 😂
When he starts to hunch forward to cover up his face with his hands like he is in prayer 🙏... That means the next thing that is going to come out of his mouth is NOT going to be in favor of the defendant at all!!! 😅

I also think it's part of his silent communication with the bailiff.
When those hands come away from his face with that sweeping, upturned palms motion, it means "Go stand behind them..."

so true, I agree to the fullest. I have been addicted to his work as a judge on the you tubes. He is beyond entertaining because he is just a honest dude who plays the stupid crims games when they want to "play" games, and he also jokes around when things are more light-hearted and not as serious. He seems like an moral and honorable man, and anyone in front of him is lucky to have him as a judge.

I have noticed that to. Its from 30 years of the stupidity of humans. The same old story, the same excuses the same exact filth. Believe it or not most Judges already know what there going to rule well before anyone speaks. Justices on Supreme Court will tell you that that the actual court case is all drama. They have had a year to review both sides of the case. Its why few say anything.

I was on probation as well as parole back in my 20s and they didn't test you for alcohol unless you had alcohol-related crimes in your current case..... though I'm unsure whether that applied to people who maybe just had an alcohol-related arrest or two in their past record. I don't really know many of the details of her case, but if there were no alcohol charges, I can understand why she might be confused about that aspect of the deferred supervision program. I'm sure there are little differences state to state. Probation and parole are actually way more challenging for most people because you don't even have to commit a new crime to get sent back to prison. All you have to do is violate a rule or policy that doesn't apply to anyone else but you and the other parolees. 15+ years ago I got revoked from a half-way house in Louisville (after only 19 days, lol) simply because I got written up for smoking cigarettes in the bathroom (cuz they locked us in the building 24/7 unless we had a job) and then a week later I got caught with a stupid-ass foodstamp card which the halfway house, for some reason I still don't understand, had a "no foodstamp cards" house rule posted up on the wall, but it seemed stupid to me. I didn't think it would rob me of a half-year of my life. They sent me back to prison for another 6-7 months over that with an application to revoke my supervision.

The best attorneys understand that, psychologically, the only way they have a chance of persuading the judge in this situation is by establishing credibility. The way you do that is by conceding that, yes, my client fucked up. The judge has to respect the attorney to even listen.

Her drinking and smoking weed is a problem but not the biggest problem, her manipulating the system with her sob story and using her children as a get out of jail card, when every time she leaves the court house she’s got her middle finger up and laughs all the way out, is the problem. Her apathy and disregard for any common decency or rules/responsibilities are a big problem.

I had this running in the back while doing chores - and then she gave her poorly rehered "I'm sorry; I learned my lesson"-speech... and the tone of voice... the sulky highschool girl voice... I'm sure the lawyer she has standing there beside her tried his best to get the words into her head, but I pictured her standing with crossed arms and a glowered while I heard that sulky voice. x3
