      A world famous plastic surgeon in New York told me that now 25% of his patients are men whereas in the past very few men had cosmetic procedures.

      Roy Chefets for me it’s still definitely lots more women but I think that’s for a lot to do with the location of where I work rather than anything else. I’m away from the City of London and in a more residential area so I feel like for this they might go closer to work.

      depression SCP-4578 I know, it’s because this was one of the first videos produced and the before and afters are filmed on different days so we didn’t quite get the lighting and head angles right. The channel is a work in progress!

    You've literally taken his face from two different angles. This isn't an accurate before and after at all.
    His face is facing more upwards in the before which will not only distort the contours of his face and canthal tilt of the eye, but also weaken the jaw line.
    Please use accurate before and afters in future.

    Dude. Thank you for existing. Seriously, there is nothing more unfortunate than being on the side of misinformation and pre-conceived notions. Truly understanding individual treatments and their potential when guided by ratio parameters would help keep A LOT of patients from over-compensating when altering areas they’re insecure of. It’s human to dramatizes or maximize the objects of our insecurities in our minds, which in turn causes over-correcting.. and some cases are severe. So, from the many of us you’ve probably saved from ourselves, we thank you. :) Please keep it up.

    Any way someone could get a filler without an anesthetic or preservatives for allergy reasons? Also any advice about lip filler on men?

    • @DrSarahTonks
      @DrSarahTonks  6 років тому +2

      MITCHELL WIGGS GREAT question. There are a small number of hyaluronic acids without lignocaine yes. Preservatives not really, because they are cross linked with BDDE to give the lattice structure- otherwise they wouldn’t hold. Profhilo doesn’t have BDDE but that’s more for skin improvement and you wouldn’t be able to get structural improvement with it, it’s more to give you a glow.

    Can you feel the product in your face?? Not in a sense that you feel it inside your face but if you touch your face with your hand, can you feel hardness or a lump? Idk why I just questioned that after watching the cheek injections lol or are the injections more like just fluid that keeps its fluidity even after injected into the skin?

    I have no experience with this kinda stuff, but this filler won't last forever, right?
    Like let's say I would get this done and it would look good, then 5 or 10 years from then it would definitely not look like it did after the procedure right? Might even go bad if you leave it for years and years without getting it refilled, right?

    • @DrSarahTonks
      @DrSarahTonks  6 років тому +18

      Avian98X great question. These products completely degrade in the skin so after 10 years you would be pretty much back to the pre procedure state. They need to be adjusted every year or so to maintain good results, but if someone has it done once and then never again it’s no big deal, the tissue just slowly goes back to how it was before. It’s a good comparison to to say it’s like semi permanent make up which lasts a while, but not at the “optimum” past a certain point. Hope that helps!

    • @sis.flossiebuttski
      @sis.flossiebuttski 6 років тому +2

      Avian98X the fillers are wonderful and no known side effects. They are naturally absorbed by the body. Many fillers on the market now. So do your homework before jumping in. Some last longer and may seem more expensive upfront but are longer lasting and a better value.

    I know this is an older video, and this could be a tender inquiry subject; But would anyone here in the comments feel comfortable answering if they feel it is a strictly Western idea that straight brows are masculine? I ask this as a long-time fan of East Asian media (I'm going to use K-Pop for an example, for people who may be newer to East Asian media), and in the dominant pop cultures of East Asia, a straight brow is used on the majority of hyper-feminine teen idols, and by no means makes them look even minutely masculine. Thin and arched brows in East Asian cultures (as far as I've heard) are generally thought of as making one look older, or dated (as if you were still donning the 1990s brow), and I tend to side with this particular viewpoint. Stepping away from East Asian media, a Western example would be post-1990s runway fashion models. Their brows are generally full and straight. Not arched, and not plucked thin. And these women are, again, usually praised for their beauty and hyper-femininity. Not for their masculine appeal because of having a full straight brow (and yes, I do realize SOME runway models capitalize on things like androgeny, but certainly not all). Just a question! Not meant to insult anyone in any way. Just trying to understand where facial aesthetic experts are pulling this idea from.

    Hi Dr. Sarah, I'm just curious if the filler is permanent?

  • @FratNightGaming
    @FratNightGaming 6 років тому

    how many syringes were used in each area? Im really interested most in the chin and jaw. Also, when you do the jawline, do you only do the jaw angle or the entire jaw line?

    • @DrSarahTonks
      @DrSarahTonks  6 років тому

      FratNightGaming oh wow I can’t remember, this was filmed about a year ago now! I think it was around 3ml Radiesse in the jaw and I think maybe 1.5-2ml in the chin. It was done over 2 sessions so we did the part of the jaw between the chin and the angle on the second session to strengthen that. I think in total for everything he had maybe 15-16ml placed. I wish the camera angles were better so you could see it more!

    • @FratNightGaming
      @FratNightGaming 6 років тому

      wait.. 15-16 ml total!?! I only 5 ml were used in the jaw and chin, where did everything else go? Isnt that a ton of product???

    • @DrSarahTonks
      @DrSarahTonks  6 років тому

      FratNightGaming I’m just guessing I honestly can’t remember we filmed this 12 months ago! We did the cheek as well, and the front part of the cheek, it wasn’t just the jawline!

      Actually I often use 6-12ml in a short space of time as standard and this was the same process just speeded up

      Eros La thank you so much! I don’t know it can be anything from £450-5000 depending on where a person starts and where they want to end up! Lots of variables there. Average is probably about £1500 but it’s really difficult to say.

    Hi there Dr. Tonks, I am an injector in the states and wanted to know about the pen that you use to inject filler. First off, what are the benefits of using that type tool vs a regular needle and where could I purchase one if I decide to get one?

    Do you have any vids on under eye fillers I have really dark under eyes I want it gone

    • @DrSarahTonks
      @DrSarahTonks  6 років тому +1

      Dark circles yes we filmed one of them recently but its not up yet. Hard to treat. Have to do filler if there is an obvious depression under the eye. PRP can sometimes be helpful, as can carboxytherapy and mesotherapy in certain skin types. Sometimes a skin lightening cream can be used. Tough problem to treat though.

    • @_ryxn

      Dr Sarah Tonks can't wait to see it I want to get it done its like the skin under my eyes is transparent very blue and purple runs in my family

    • @DrSarahTonks
      @DrSarahTonks  6 років тому

      Ryan x that’s a tough problem if the skin is very thin. Personally I like to use Teosyal Rednesity 1 for this which is a meso product but I use it with a cannula like a filler and that has a biostimulatory effect and makes the skin a bit thicker- might be worth thinking about

    • @DrSarahTonks
      @DrSarahTonks  6 років тому +2

      First Last Weirdly no, but I am sure there are loads. If you just google words like beautiphication, phi facial principles, things like that, I am sure someone will come up. The guys who really invented it years ago are Arthur Swift and Kent Remington if you fancy a trip to Canada! In my opinion, they are amazing injectors, very graceful.
