I had a Peugeot 405 in the mid-1990s which I really enjoyed driving. It was stable and NVH was exceptional for its class. The French really knew how to tune their suspension, so much so that I remember driving at high speed on the North South Highway and running over a bar on the road which blew out both my left tyres, front and rear. Yet, the car had no dramatics, did not flip over or do anything spectacular. All I heard was the noise of the blowout and rumble noise from the car and road. I steered on to the emergency lane and was thankful that my family and I were safe and uninjured. I really loved that car. Unfortunately, the 405 had problems with its auto gear reliability . Barely after owning it for 2 years, the auto gear broke down as I was driving out of Dataran Merdeka car park. I had towed it to MBf-Peugeot which was its distributor then in PJ, and was told that it would cost RM20k to replace it. And considering I had bought the car for RM90k, that meant the auto gear itself was about 1/5 of the price of the car! Even replacing it with a second-hand auto gear costs RM10k! And the foreman said that was no guarantee that even the new auto-gear would not break down again after a few years! I was so disgusted with the reliability of the car, I sold it off at a big loss, and bought myself a Toyota Prado, which gave a decade of smooth reliable driving without any issue at all before I sold it. After my brush with the Peugeot 405, I never ever looked at any Peugeot again. Yes, Peugeot make great cars with great suspension and NVH. However, have they resolved their reliability and spare parts issues?
Can never go wrong with a Toyota. But on the Peugeot spare parts issue, Stellantis has a plant in Malaysia and that means easy access to parts. Time will tell how that plays out but the plans look good so far.
I am hoping you guys will at least review the active safety feature when reviewing the GT line. I am all for the driving spirit. But I am also need some low speed follow function when navigating KL traffic on my way to work.l, wonder if 408 have this function.
It does have the drive assist, which can follow front car during traffic jams. Car stop when the front traffic stop. Can be resumed as easy as pushing a button on the stering wheel. Really help during congestion!
@cimotomel Nice, but is it exclusive to GT trim? Or is it available in Premium, too? For me, the Premium trim is a great trim to directly compare to Honda Civic. The GT trim is just a bit too expensive with additional superficial features that aren't just attractive to my opinion.

Glad you pointed out that it doesn't have autohold. Might be a deal breaker for many. Even the MG4 has it, for crying out loud !
It's been over 10 years since this design in 2013 208. It's called i - cockpit. It's meant to look above the wheel and not through it like other cars
Doesn't work. The top part of the wheel is too low. It wasn't great 10 years ago and still isn't great today.

Ride quality, handling and safety are my personal priority. I do an average 60k kms per year so comfort is important.
Been waiting for anyone to properly review this model. Can't wait!
I hope it lives up to your expectations. Coming tomorrow!
Your suggestion about having the HUD is spot on! 😃👍🏻
It would solve the entire problem with the steering design. I wonder if other markets have it.
CAN U UPLOAD TIGGO 7 PRO REVIEW?
Best looking C segment car in the market. But worst resale value in the market. Hopefully the reliability has improved.
Drive it on winding roads, you will buy the car
Agreed!
the Pugs have always been fantastic on the B roads.
