Sat in this car and the limited visibility all around is pretty bad. Very narrow field of view out of the front windshield. Very difficult to see things properly out the rear windshield. You'll end up with poor situational awareness as you'll be prone to blind spots with this car. A case of looks over practicality.

I had a Peugeot 405 in the mid-1990s which I really enjoyed driving. It was stable and NVH was exceptional for its class. The French really knew how to tune their suspension, so much so that I remember driving at high speed on the North South Highway and running over a bar on the road which blew out both my left tyres, front and rear. Yet, the car had no dramatics, did not flip over or do anything spectacular. All I heard was the noise of the blowout and rumble noise from the car and road. I steered on to the emergency lane and was thankful that my family and I were safe and uninjured. I really loved that car.
Unfortunately, the 405 had problems with its auto gear reliability . Barely after owning it for 2 years, the auto gear broke down as I was driving out of Dataran Merdeka car park. I had towed it to MBf-Peugeot which was its distributor then in PJ, and was told that it would cost RM20k to replace it. And considering I had bought the car for RM90k, that meant the auto gear itself was about 1/5 of the price of the car! Even replacing it with a second-hand auto gear costs RM10k! And the foreman said that was no guarantee that even the new auto-gear would not break down again after a few years! I was so disgusted with the reliability of the car, I sold it off at a big loss, and bought myself a Toyota Prado, which gave a decade of smooth reliable driving without any issue at all before I sold it.
After my brush with the Peugeot 405, I never ever looked at any Peugeot again. Yes, Peugeot make great cars with great suspension and NVH. However, have they resolved their reliability and spare parts issues?

You posted the very same comment on other videos. What is your problem, dude ? If you don't like Peugeot, then don't buy it. Problem solved. But if you did a bit of research, you would know that Peugeot has done and is doing incredibly well in all safety tests, in all European countries. It's a completely different brand than what it was decades ago. They have dramatically improved the quality. So what's your problem bringing stuff about the 80s ? Grow up. This is 2024. By the way, Japanese brands' reputation is all about reliability, but trust me, they also have lots of technical issues. More often than you would imagine. So how many more times will you post that comment of yours, again ? How many ?

the 405 was infamous for poor reliability and the aircond was not cold even when brand new. you'll actually perspire even at night. it sold well because of the low price point and 24hr towing services offered to buyers. lol

how much does the 20 inch tyre cost? Rear suspension is using torsion beam right?

      1. The wheels should cost well within budget for buyers who can spend RM200k on a new car.
      2. Ride & handling engineering goes alot further than suspension architecture. The Mazda 3 is a great case in point where it drives with greater sophistication compared to the Honda Civic. We already explained our opinion on the ride & handling of the 408 GT in this review.

For me if got money, I choose the low spec allure one, got the spare tyre. More practical, less complicated electronic, less electronic, less headache. The engine are the same for all variant by the way. Haha

That epic scratch noise at 13:20 😂 For a car of this price, they really shouldn't skimp on that. Excellent review as always though!

Pernah tengok kereta ni kt jalan, cantik tapi agak pelik dari segi ground clearance. Sedan lain semua nk lowered, tapi model ni nampak tinggi tak mcm sedan. Bagus untuk jalan kt malaysia 😅
