@@RSTL1234 The prices now are ridiculous though , like 5 years or so ago I went to see Bad Company at Jones Beach here in NY and they charged me $36 for two cans of Budwiser! That's awesome that you saw them, great show in 1973 at MSG but the place reeked of weed and I was like 14 years old and got stoned without even taking a puff 🥴
i loved it and having Jason Bonham play with them is led zepplin to me hes so good like his father so John's spirit is there for sure Jimmy still playing amazing and for plant to hold that note a few times is awesome
Just so you know, they’re going to stream this concert tomorrow, 12 pm PT. on UA-cam on the Led Zeppelin channel. Sixty-some year old men sounded great. As other comments mentioned, 20 million people wanted these tickets. The drummer is John Bonham’s son.
You should react to the 1979 Knebworth live performance. John Bonham on the drums in that performance and Robert Plants vocals are really good. “Achilles Last Stand” from the same performance is really great too. This is Jason Bonham in this performance, John’s son.
If you go on Robert Plant's page..tomorrow ,they will be streaming the whole Celebration Day concert! I'm not sure what time..but if you go to his page..you can set a reminder!
6:03. . How many young singers could HIT that note PERFECTLY? And HOLD it for as LONG as that? And with such POWER? Not too damn many, I can bet! And Robert Plant was almost 60 years old when this concert was recorded!
Pigs Trotters Not so! Jimmy’s playing is very accessible. You would be right If we were talking Via or Satriani or Malmsteen. Those guys have technical chops that deserve the entire 10,000 hours of practice to master. But Jimmy’s stuff is riff-based. As you absorb these riffs you start to understand how the blues work. Thanks for your interest in my favorite band. The first of 4 times I saw them was in 1972.
@@adiemthevamp cool. I had learned Going To California which was in DADGBD. It was kind of difficult but worth it. I kind of forgot how to play it now due to my strings busting by always tuning it different. Maybe my knew guitar wont have that problem.
@@angelone1839 that's what I like about them. They have so many styles and Page used so many different tunings. I think you have CFCFAC on When the Levee Breaks. And you can see how much work they put in their songs. In Kashmir, guitar is in 3/4 and drums in 4/4. The guitar riff is in chromatic scale and the vocals in major scale. The descending riff in minor and then they add some Eastern scales to it in the Bridge and Outro. There are so many layers to it. As there are in most of their songs. These guys were proper musicians.
@@adiemthevamp 100% agreed. There's a video on why John Bonham was the best drummer due to his time signatures in correlation to the guitar you should check out if you haven't already. Ima see if i can find it for you.
Not to quibble, but Plant was “only” 59 in 2007...I think Jimmy is three years older...so 62. Do t know about JPJ but think he’s Jimmys age. But.....Plant is now 72 and still performs. Last album was beautiful.....but rather melancholy...his concert tour in May was Cancelled due to Corona....I was so disappointed. Hope it’s not my last chance to see him...
There was 20 million ticket requests for this one time show in the first hour that it was announced....the greatest band in the world in my opinion
If you go on Robert Plant's page..tomorrow ,they will be streaming the whole Celebration Day concert!
@Salem I saw them at MSG during the filming of the movie the Song Remains The Same and I got to chat with Jimmy about that show...he had a blast
@James Miller Boston? No way...Boston was ranked the 63rd best hard rock artist by VH1. (The album "Boston" wasn't bad, but not world-shattering)
@@bnd4ever48 I saw them live in 1975 Montreal Canada $8.00 a ticket can you imagine

the smile on your face , while listening to Kashmir , makes watching the video worth it .
Led Zeppelin's music, in general, just "takes you there." And this song is their ultimate "take you there" masterpiece.

Cool...was that you on the guitar?? Awesome!! That was John Bonham's son on the drums!
They sounded great here for being up in age.
They sounded great - period. No need to even add the age caveat. This entire concert was a reckoning! 🤘🏼

This is great. I would suggest you watch them do Kashmir live from Knebworth in 1979. It’s within a year of Bonzo’s death and the performance is epic.

An often overlooked fact.
Good for you for having a go!!!
Awesome man!
You should check out Voyage to Atlantis by The Isley Brothers (Studio Version) awesome smooth guitar.
Awesome!
Pretty good on the guitar playing! Especially with a cast on your one hand! Very cool!
Peace
I learned to play blues guitar in the late 60s. I did it by studying Jimmy Page style guitar. He is the riff master.
Brave..but I think that was jumping in at the deep end.

Are the having fun or what !!!
Awesome you’ve got the DADGAD going!
NICEE
Brilliant! Hope your hand is better soon.
I wanted to learn that but i heard it was in some weird tuning Page wrote it in
It's in DADGAD. It's a modal tuning. Gives the Eastern vibe. It's fun to play actually. You should try it. The song isn't that hard tbh.

If you haven’t already check out Stevie ray Vaughn. Killing floor live at el macambo.
do you the guitar tuning he had while creating this song with bonzo?
You need to tune to DADGAD low to high for Kashmir.
A bunch of guys in their 70s and they still rock better than any band out there .
70ties Bands like Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath... are unmatched since today. They try but nobody comes close to them.

Is there any group out there that can challenge led zeppelin master's of rock and roll there is know group that can match there talent
Dude, hard to be Jimmy with two hands, not bad for a cast on your arm tho, A for effort.
Take care of that hand, dude.
Kashmir....google it...it’s a place they spent time in during better days in the world...
It was actually Morocco, but Plant wrote substituted Kashmir in for it.
Nice try! Even in their 60s they rocked!!
