Joe Walsh was a musical genius. Some others you can do, "Rocky Mountain Way" and "In The City". Before this he was also in the group The James Gang. "Funk 49" and "Walk Away" are good. Joe would later join the band The Eagles. Check out the song "Life In The Fast Lane" you can really hear his influence. Thanks and God Bless. P.S. He was the one on stage with the red brick suit playing guitar when y'all did Hotel California.
i might not quite go so far as to say "musical genius"....but he is a consummate rock star and one of the GOATs for sure. (i'm just reserving "genius" for virtuosos like Zappa and the likes...not at all trying to put down Walsh...love the guy and his work but it's pure, simple rock and roll)
Glenn Frey said: “Joe is a great bunch of guys”. When the Eagles reunited in 1994, Joe was given the ultimatum, he had to be sober and stay sober to rejoin the band. So far so good for Joe. R.I.P. Glenn.
He lost his license when he lost his wallet. He just didn't bother to go back to DMV to get it replaced. His Bio is really cool. He performs this at "Life from Daryl's house" worth a look.
Joe Walsh you can't help but love him. Please check out the live performance with the Eagles "All she wants to do is Dance" you'll get a idea of Joe's personality. Plus nobody has done it yet. It's a vibe.
"I can't complain but sometimes I still do" is pretty much where I'm at. Life's been good to me so far, but I don't always appreciate it as much as I should.
One of the greatest rock songs ever. Great skill, funny, and lots of stylistic transitions. And a song about making it big as a rock star and all that entails.
My man from Mont Clare, NJ! Love me some Joe Walsh. He's famous in his own right, but if y'all don't already know...he was a member of the band the Eagles! And btw fly Eagles fly as we head to the Superbowl this year!
💕 H A P P Y N E W Y E A R !!! 2 0 2 2 💕⭐️ Shawn and Mel, as much as you LOVED this song, you’ll love “ROCKY MOUNTAIN WAY” even more!!! ⭐️ 💕With all my love, always ~ Laura💕 ❤️ 🥰❤️ S and M HIT SQUAD IS THE BEST!!! ❤️🥰❤️
You guys have actually reacted to Joe Walsh twice before but may not have realized it. Once when you reacted to the James Gang's Funk #49, and once when you reacted to the Eagles' Hotel California. Joe Walsh was a member of both bands and played on both songs.
I was about to say the same exact thing...When you guys reacted to Hotel California by the Eagles, you made a comment about the guy in the "brick" suit...Well here ya go...JOE WALSH,man in the brick suit...😊
Joe Walsh is an excellent musician. He is still going. He had a solo career, was in The James Gang, and The Eagles. He also supported Glenn Frey (also from The Eagles) on some of his solo work. Try his songs Turn to Stone and The Confessor.
I love this song, he is being humorous hes mocking the lifestyle of the celebrities and famous. hes haveing fun at his own expense. lts brilliant and the music is great , he is a great guitar player , one of the best. LOved the lines which were based on truth, but he made them funny
The first time I heard this song was back in 1978. I was a traveling Salesman and I stopped at a restaurant to grab a bite to eat. It was being played on the jukebox and I fell in love with it. The rest is history.
This is one of my favorite songs. It's a playful song about the life of a rock star. Not to mention that Joe Walsh is one of the G.O.A.Ts on the guitar👍🏾👵🏿🎶💜.
Joe Walsh is an American rock singer-songwriter & multi-instrumentalist. His career spans over 5 decades. He has been a member of three successful rock bands: James Gang, Eagles & Ringo Starr & His All-Starr Band. As a member of the James Gang they had a hit song with "Funk #49" & it highlighted his skill as both a guitarist & singer. He went solo in 1973 & had many hits such as "Rocky Mountain Way", "Life's Been Good", "All Night Long", "A Life Of Illusion" & "Ordinary Average Guy".
Mr. fun himself, He got me through high school. Spent many Summers up North in Michigan listening/partying to Joe Walsh. Bounced many a quarter into a glass playing this guy‘s music. LOL
Joe Walsh eventually joined the Eagles. His playing style was immediately apparent in "Hotel California" where he changed the sound of the group from their earlier country sound.to a more rock sound.
If you’ve seen the 1977 live video of “Hotel California” by the Eagles, Joe is one of the two duelling guitarists the last two minutes of the song. He’s the one not playing the double neck guitar.
I saw an interview he did and he was so messed up, he could barely walk or talk, or even sit straight, but when he picked up his guitar, he played this song as if he could play it in his sleep. To watch him go from barely comprehensible to playing like he was born with his guitar in his hands blew my mind. He's since cleaned up, but it was shocking how he went from one extreme to the other.
You really should check out this song along with “Rocky Mountain Way” - Live at Daryl’s House. He’s with Daryl Hall from Hall and Oats, and other musicians at Daryl Hall’s actual house, and they do these songs live, and they really jam.
Check out Daryl's House where Joe goes to Jam out with Daryl Hall, they bring it ALL DAY LONG like Shawn says..You all would LOVE IT❤ LOVE YOU SHAWN AND MEEEEEL🎶🎵
Joe is one of the greatest guitar players ever. He actually holds the record for the most expensive hotel room trashing. The sound you are asking about is called a wa wa box it's a tube that goes into his mouth. Rocky Mountain Way. Is another great song by Joe
Hey you crazy kids! Dig it! I saw James Gang way back in the 70's they were really tight. Joe Walsh did his best Pete Townsend impersonation and smashed absolutely everything on stage including a beautiful gold top les Paul guitar. As a guitarist it broke my ❤ heart. Every show!!! But great band! I'm going to keep asking for my friends band SAGA "On the Loose" live in Germany. You won't be disappointed, l promise. ✌ 💘
one of the people I would love to meet sometime for fun one night I re wrote parts of this song Joe said he is so tired of singing this he often wishes he had never wrote it and he is living proof that miracles happen
I'm soooo jealous that you guys get to experience all this great music for the first time!!! Brings such a smile to my face!! Some of the music I can recall where, when, and who I was with! Love it!! Thank you!
Mother Says, Welcome To The Club, Rocky Mountain Way, Help Me Through The Night, the list of his classics goes on and on. Then check out his first group The James Gang doing The Bomber, Take A Look Around, Woman, Tend My Garden, Walk Away for even more greatness.
He really did live like this. He partied like nobody's business. Everyone else sort of grew up and straightened out their lives. Not Joe. He ran with it until Don Henley and Glenn Frey called him to ask if he wanted to get back with the Eagles for the Hell Freezes Over tour in early 90s, they told him he had to get sober. He said that was the best reason he'd heard so he got clean and still is. I saw him once at a Willie Nelson 4th of July picnic. It was just him and a bass player, and they absolutely rocked out for about 45 minutes. Best $20 I ever spent. Try Rocky Mountain Way and Life in the Fast Lane which really shows off his guitar chops. Joe is another guitar hero that came out of the 70s. I can still get chills when I hear him and Don Felder do the guitar solo in Hotel California. They played off each other better than anyone else I can think of.
You should check out In The City by Joe Walsh, from the great film THE WARRIORS, it is the closing sound when the credits are rolling, and if you've never seen the film, watch that, be good to know your reaction to it
I only have one of his albums "there goes the neighborhood", but various friends have other albums, which used to work well when we got to see each other regularly. Anyway, my favourite on that album is a life of illusion, never heard anything like it before or since. I guess that's what I love about Joe Walsh, always unique.
JOE WALSH, "LIFE'S BEEN GOOD". YOU'VE REACTED TOO THE "JAMES GANG" JOE WALSH WAS THE LEAD SINGER AND GUITAREST. THIS IS SOME OF SOLO CAREER. MORE, "ROCKY MOUNTAIN WAY", "THE CONFESSOR", "IN THE CITY"...
For those outside Joe's Walsh's music and don't know much about him, if you want to go real deep, check out a solo album by Joe Vitale titled "Roller Coaster Weekend". Vitale was a longtime friend and multi instrumentalist who played on a lot of Walsh's music in the early 1970's. They toured and recorded together. Roller Coaster Weekend is from 1974 and features two 70's guitar greats, Joe Walsh on guitar and vocals AND Rick Derringer. Cheers from the canadian Queen nut.
This is from 1978. But later he lost his 3 year old daughter from a traffic accident. After hearing of his little girl's death, Stevie Nicks who he was seeing romantically, wrote a song for him called "Has Anyone Ever Written Anything For You". This song is on Stevie's 1985 Lp "Rock A Little"...
Hey guys, since you enjoyed listening to this, you should listen to *"Live From Darl's House - Funk 49-50"* this is Daryl Hall from "Hall & Oates" this is from his UA-cam Show. Lots of amazing guests and famous artists, come on his show to keep good music alive. This is another of Joe Walsh doing one of his songs. There is another video of *"Live from Daryl's House - Backstabbers"* this is the O'Jays, another great listen. Great Reaction, Thanks
HI GUYS! YOU JUST DID JAMES GANG FUNK #49 TWO WEEKS AGO!! That was his band before he went solo and then with THE EAGLES and then solo..... Anyway, I just wanted to point it out to you guys so you can tie them together. I know you loved Funk #49. Of course I watched that one too 🙂 (I'm only halfway through your reaction, in case you already fig it out by the end lol)
Joe Walsh's autobiographical song about his life as a Rock star. Great song, with a great sense of humor, but it's all true.
Joe Walsh was a musical genius. Some others you can do, "Rocky Mountain Way" and "In The City". Before this he was also in the group The James Gang. "Funk 49" and "Walk Away" are good. Joe Walsh live at Darryl's House is great! Darryl is Darryl Hall from Hall and Oates
Rocky Mountain Way with the Eagles version please. Also Roy Orbison's 3 year old grandson doing this song with Joe Walsh priceless.
Glenn Frey said: “Joe is a great bunch of guys”. When the Eagles reunited in 1994, Joe was given the ultimatum, he had to be sober and stay sober to rejoin the band. So far so good for Joe. R.I.P. Glenn.
I can't complain, but sometimes I still do. That's hilarious
He lost his license when he lost his wallet. He just didn't bother to go back to DMV to get it replaced. His Bio is really cool. He performs this at "Life from Daryl's house" worth a look.
ANYTHING from Live at Daryl's House is worth the look!
Funny, I always think of him as the Bart Simpson of Rock N Roll.
😂Didn't know that was why the line about the license. I thought he had a DUI. He's insane.
Joe Walsh you can't help but love him. Please check out the live performance with the Eagles "All she wants to do is Dance" you'll get a idea of Joe's personality. Plus nobody has done it yet. It's a vibe.
This is such a cool song! My favorite lines are "I can't complain, but sometimes I still do" and "They say I'm lazy but it takes all my time" lol
🤟❤️🤣👌
A lot of us complain when we have no good reason to. lol
mine is they say i'm crazy but I have a good time
"I can't complain but sometimes I still do" is pretty much where I'm at. Life's been good to me so far, but I don't always appreciate it as much as I should.
One of the greatest rock songs ever. Great skill, funny, and lots of stylistic transitions. And a song about making it big as a rock star and all that entails.
Joe Walsh is awesome, whether in the Eagles or on his own .

Out of all the people in the world, Joe Walsh is some of them.
Joe Walsh man great reaction. Joe and james gang-[earthshaker-red satin lover] S&M have a great day.
Joe's tongue and cheek commentary about his life as a "Rock Star". He later joined the Eagles as lead guitarist.

Joes' guitar speaks the loudest (where his soul is heard) in the moments in between the bent notes
that he plays.
I love his sound.
He was with The James Gang, then went solo and has been with The Eagles for a long time.
This was the proper response haha
The song that you're about to hear by Joe Walsh at one time Joe Walsh actually lives that life true story
Yes..a true O. G.
"I go to parties some times until four. It's hard to leave when you can't find the door."
My life story until I was 30.
FUNK 49🎸 JOE WALSH ..James Gang, Eagles Hotel California Don Felder and Joe Walsh Duet Guitar Gods

I love Joe Walsh ! He is talented and has a great sense of humor that comes through with his music and performances.
Joe Walsh eventually joined the Eagles. His playing style was immediately apparent in "Hotel California" where he changed the sound of the group from their earlier country sound.to a more rock sound.
This is one of my favorites by Joe Walsh. Glad you all enjoyed it so much.
This is my favorite Joe Walsh song
I’ve had a crush on Joe Walsh since I was in high school, I graduated in 1975. I’m also a huge fan of the Eagles, wonder why, haha.
Just imagine how cool it was when he joined The Eagles 🤯🤯🤯🤯
True Story About Joe Gotta Love Him
Best song ever!
The sound of a simple man taking a basic approach to life and his career ❤️💕
He and Ringo from the Beatles are married to sisters! Coolest brothers in law ever!
"I can't complain, but sometimes I still do" -Great Lyric. We can all relate !
Mmmm I love the songs that extend the jam !!!!
Rocky Mountain Way !!!! You wont regret it ! Joe is amazing
This song is sarcasm at its finest.
If you’ve seen the 1977 live video of “Hotel California” by the Eagles, Joe is one of the two duelling guitarists the last two minutes of the song. He’s the one not playing the double neck guitar.
A totally fun and cool tune!
Been a fan of Joe Walsh for 50 years and also when he was in the eagles!! Great music and great reactions!! You take me back to the day..❤❤🎵🎶❤❤
Describe yourself Joe: "He's a crazy bunch of guys." 🤙
Being in the band The Eagles, I would definitely say life has been good to Joe Walsh.
My favorite line in this song makes me laugh every time: "I go to parties sometimes until four, It's hard to leave when you can't find the door"
Absolutely need to listen to Rocky Mountain Way. Joe Walsh is great.
Saw him at Summerfest in Milwaukee in the '70's. What a fun upbeat person.
Love you in that golf shirt!!! Mel you are a beautiful lady!!!❤️
You really should check out this song along with “Rocky Mountain Way” - Live at Daryl’s House. He’s with Daryl Hall from Hall and Oats, and other musicians at Daryl Hall’s actual house, and they do these songs live, and they really jam.
Good song about life as a rock star....
Joe Walsh was guitarist vocalist for the Eagles and on the James Gang
As The story goes one of Joe Walsh's bandmates said something along the lines of "Joe's a great bunch of guys" and I think that sums it up pretty well
gotta love joe well this one anyway , lets go brandon
Check out Daryl's House where Joe goes to Jam out with Daryl Hall, they bring it ALL DAY LONG like Shawn says..You all would LOVE IT❤ LOVE YOU SHAWN AND MEEEEEL🎶🎵
Joe is one of the greatest guitar players ever. He actually holds the record for the most expensive hotel room trashing. The sound you are asking about is called a wa wa box it's a tube that goes into his mouth. Rocky Mountain Way. Is another great song by Joe
The wah-wah is a floor pedal for the guitar. You're thinking of the voice box that he uses on Rocky Mountain Way.
He trashed it with Keith Moon 😂
my mom when she was alive said this song suited me to a t ! .R.I.P. mom😁
Hey you crazy kids! Dig it! I saw James Gang way back in the 70's they were really tight. The sound Mel liked is a talk box it makes sound through his Guitar, with a plastic tube in his Mouth around the microphone.
Y`all should listen to Joe Walsh`s song " In The City "..You both will love it.
Yall reacted to Eagles Hotel California, Joe Walsh was the Guitar player in the brick suit 😎
Get over to Daryl's House, check out many awesome singers including Joe Walsh playing with Daryl Hall, he has it all going on in his studio.
I remember him from his time with the Eagles.
Joe Walsh NEVER gets old, Try Life of Illusion" or " I Can Play That Rock and Roll."
one of the people I would love to meet sometime for fun one night I re wrote parts of this song Joe said he is so tired of singing this he often wishes he had never wrote it and he is living proof that miracles happen

This is amazing in concert! He was in The Eagles as one of the lead guitarist. You've seen him in Hotel California with the red bandana on
Rolling Stone ranks Joe Walsh as the 50th greatest guitarist of all time. I would rate him higher. Great reaction.
WAY higher. Considering that they didn't even place Neil Schon, I question their judgment.
Rocky mountain high. Joe uses the talk box!
"Rocky Mountain High". Trust
