i thought once Walsh joined the Eagles for the Hotel California LP he wasn't gonna have time to do any more solo records..Then the next year, he records this awesome set..He really was suddenly hugely famous and rich, so he spoofed it with this no.1 song. (In fact both hits from Hotel Cali and his own were playing all over the radio at the same time!)
Tasha Joe Walsh is also known as "Clown Prince" of Rock. Prior to joining Eagles, he was in another band called James Gang. I have seen Joe Walsh live in concert twice: 1st in 2002 with Eagles and 2nd as solo artist opening act for his buddy, Joe Petty and Heartbreakers in 2017. That concert in 2002, Joe Walsh was wearing a helmet with a camera on the front showing audience members as he jams. During Live at Daryl's House, Joe with Daryl Hal jammed this classic with Joe updated the lyrics for current day. By the way, Joe Walsh has a famous brother-in-law. Brother-in law is Beatles' Ringo Starr. Joe is married to Ringo's wife, Barbara Bach's sister.
LIFE'S BEEN GOOD was a great solo of his, as well as ROCKY MOUNTAIN WAY, IN THE CITY, etc. When he was still with James Gang he played lead on THE BOMBER on the album James Gang Rides Again - one of my favorites. That funky little instrument in the middle is called an African Thumb Piano.
Life's Been Good - The lyrics are true. He was still under contract for 1 more solo album when he joined the Eagles, and this was on it. If you don't know about Keith Moon of the Who, he was a hyper active terror doing all kinds of crazy stunts. The Who was banned for life from Holiday Inns. Joe did some of his own stunts like getting 2 rooms side by side and cutting out the wall because they didn't have a suite. but he was in on some of Keith's stunts. Joe Walsh Quote - "The most terrifying thing that ever happened to me was that Keith Moon decided he liked me."
That classic Joe Walsh guitar kick, he plays it in so many songs. Having to use words it's like - pickapow pickapow. From the James Gang to the Eagles, you can notice it.
Fuckin' cat. The fact that you didn't edit that bit out underscores your integrity and dedication to the reaction ritual. You Are Epic! On to Joe Walsh; The mad genius of this insanely talented musician is on full display in this song. You mentioned it yourself, pointing out the unexpected signature changes (and there were many). His solo albums are achingly original. His work with The James Gang are Hall of Fame anthems. And yet, during this era, Joe was a member of The Eagles (literally America's Band), yet he was woefully underutilized by that stalwart American institution. In the final sting of this song he references a couple of his riffs from Life In The Fast Lane. Pure Joe. I encourage anyone who loves rock & roll to delve into his entire discography. You will never be disappointed.
Always liked this song. Definitely has cool guitar riffs and fun lyrics. This goes back to a time of my preteen years when I didn't know what a Maserati car was. I think the cat wasn't digging the song.😂
Joe is a most versatile man... not only an incredible musican, but a HAM radio operator, I believe he is a pilot, humanitarian, ... just a neat guy....
HI TASHA! 😊 SO JOE WAS MAINLY WITH 3 BANDS : THE JAMES GANG, THE EAGLES, AND THEN HIS OWN 😊HE STARTED WITH THE EAGLES ON THE EPIC MASTERPIECE 76 ALBUM ( HOTEL CALIFORNIA ) THE GUITARIST FOR THE EAGLES, THAT WOULD BE JOE. HIS OTHER HUGE HIT WAS ( ROCKY MOUNTAIN WAY ) JAMES GANG WOUND BE ( FUNK 49 ) 😊 TAKE GREAT CARE TASHA AND KEEP DISCOVERING.
Excellent reaction and explanation, Tasha! Loved it! Joe Walsh is a Rock Icon. Spent many yrs with the Eagles as well. A true musical legend/Icon. Keep up the nice work/channel! Kudos!
I'm SO GLAD kitty jumped on the keyboard! I looked down and realized I wasn't subscribed!?!?!? How the heck...? Thank you kitty. I've re-subscribed xoxoxo
Joe Walsh is so talented! I suggest you check out some live performances he's done. My favorite lately is him performing his song 'Turn to Stone' at the Vets Aid concert from 2022. There are a lot of video clips of it on UA-cam. I think the song is about the Vietnam War (it came out in 1973)....it's such a haunting song and I love his atmospheric guitar solo.
This true is story. He says, Touring so much he was almost never home Hence has a mansion but never stays there. Also, he lost his wallet with his license in it, never replaced it. Hence, he lost his license, so now he can't drive. In his crazy days, bands would tear up hotel rooms. Hence, his account pays for it. He is Ringo Starr's brother inlaw.
Love the cat!! I knew I liked you, lol. This is a great song. Along with many of his other songs and those of the James Gang, of which he was a member, they were on the radio all the time in the 70s. Have you heard the James Gang's Funk 49? You'd love it.
ALL RIGHT! Joe Walsh hit it outta the park with this hit song. Love it. Thanks for the glimpse of yesteryear, sister. See ya on the next. Peace and Love. Go with God. Shoutout from this old, longhaired rocker in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. Later.
It's a sound very symptomatic of the times in which it was made. In studios back then that did rock they put towels over the drums to give it that dead sound. So it sounds a bit dated---like I KNOW what years this was done in by how it SOUNDS. So glad you heard it and got the key take-away. And that is that Joe was honest and a groover before it came back in style again later on. He was groovin when few bands were going down that road. He was "VIBIN." Nice job. Oh by the way your cat asked you a question: "Why aren't you paying attention to ME, Mommy?" Very sweet. Ha!
This guy is one goofy guy. He opened for Bob Seger a few years ago annd was hilarious on stage. A little fact he's Ex Beatles drummer Ringo Starr brother in law.
Yeah your kitty cat wanted to hear all that again he missed it. And probably to remind you it is breakfast or snack time. Joe Walsh another member of The supergroup Eagles. Don't know I haven't been following you long enough to know if you touched on the Eagles yet. But it's a deep rabbit hole. And also many individuals went solo besides this one.
Joe is quite comical. He loves to clown around on stage and sometimes even tell jokes. His jokes sometimes are really corny but because Joe is a funny guy, his corny jokes still make us laugh. Love Joe Oh and that was funny when your cat 🙀 jumped up.. lol
Sorry to disagree, but according to Bill Szymczyk, the producer and engineer on the song, Walsh and Joe Vitale programmed the simple eighth-note sequence on an ARP Odyssey synthesizer. "Let's put that one to rest right now," says Szymczyk. "There is no Jew's harp [mouth harp] on that record. It was all done with a synthesizer." As someone that has seen Joe Walsh solo and with the Eagles numerous times in the last 40 years, "Life's Been Good" is also performed live with a synthesizer, not a mouth harp.
This track is a fun listen for a while - but its a song like his lyric - "its hard to leave when you can't find the door" - made the song a bit too long and repetitive. Tasha I love your analysis - you picked up on his sadness - few people who hear this song recognize his feeling of being trapped in a lifestyle thats just too far out there - too meaningless - and he can't see any changes - any escape from it. I think he would like to try "normal living" for a while - just to catch his breath and get some perspective on life.
Our demographics are different. Mine are more interactive, his aren't. Which is why bands like the Eagles should stop blocking and striking channels that expose their music to a new generation.
"I can't complain, but sometimes I still do."
Best line ever.
I quote this often 👍
Joe is certainly a character ❤, I loved when he was on "Daryl's House" it was great. Joe and Daryl and his guys awesome combo.
It's funny when gets to the line "I go to parties, sometimes until 4" and holds up too many fingers. Daryl laughs and almost messes up
i thought once Walsh joined the Eagles for the Hotel California LP he wasn't gonna have time to do any more solo records..Then the next year, he records this awesome set..He really was suddenly hugely famous and rich, so he spoofed it with this no.1 song. he started with the James gang.
U right
This song was recorded before he joined the Eagles. it was on the But Seriously Folks album.
"I can't complain, but sometimes I still do...." a line we can all related to.
There's a live version of this where he changes the lyrics:
I have a limo, ride in the trunk
I lock the doors, in case I get drunk..😅
That's the version I grew up with
Tasha

Joe Walsh is an amazing guitarist. He played the trombone and clarinet in his school band and switched to the guitar.
I saw him play trombone in a bar in Kent Ohio circa1968 on a break with his band
Check out Rocky Mountain Way by Joe. It's Outrageous!♥️🎸
Joe is the definition of a Rockstar 🤘🤘
"Everybody's so different, I haven't changed" 😁

We just did a reaction to The Who on the other channel, I loved it. Keith was awesome lol
I played this cassette endlessly
That classic Joe Walsh guitar kick, he plays it in so many songs. Having to use words it's like - pickapow pickapow. From the James Gang to the Eagles, you can notice it.
it’s a townshend thing, too.
Cat's have this unique attraction to computer keyboards. This entire album is fantastic. Give a listen when you get the time.
Joe is always fun I saw him as a member of the Ringo Starr all-star band
Yes, great. I love Joe Walsh. He is quite unique. Great video..
Fuckin' cat. The fact that you didn't edit that bit out underscores your integrity and dedication to the reaction ritual. You Are Epic!

Cats! 🤪
My cats do that! I haven't heard that song in years. Thanks for reacting to it
Always liked this song. Definitely has cool guitar riffs and fun lyrics. This goes back to a time of my preteen years when I didn't know what a Maserati car was. I think the cat wasn't digging the song.😂
Good insight, Tasha. Joe said life's been good "so far." And one cat digging another cat. 😇
I think Joe is so underrated .
Big fan of Joe's. He has been in many bands including the Eagles. He has had a successful solo career as well.
Joe is a most versatile man... not only an incredible musican, but a HAM radio operator, I believe he is a pilot, humanitarian, ... just a neat guy....

Loved when your kitty jumped up!! Mine does the same thing!
The irony is while the lyrics are delivered in a tongue-in-cheek way, many of them are actually true.
You can recognize sone of the guitar stylings from this similar to some of the songs he played on the “Hotel California” album with The Eagles.
Some time ago he added another verse. ' i stay at parties Some times til 4, its hard to leave when you can't find no more ...'
LOL... OMG attack kitty!!! That was awesome!!
Joe Walsh is one of a kind. Creative genius, funny man!
Genuine guitar legend and Rock n Roll star. love this guy.
Tasha, live me some Joe Walsh.
From the James Gang to the Eagles and his solo creer.
🤘🤘
This is the best reaction vid ever and I’m only halfway through. Super funny and entertaining. Also matched the tone of the song perfectly🐱😂🔥
Excellent reaction and explanation, Tasha!
Loved it!
Joe Walsh is a Rock Icon. Spent many yrs with the Eagles as well.
A true musical legend/Icon.
Keep up the nice work/channel!
Kudos!
3:25 That cat Ha ha ha 🤣😂 Ladies and gentleman... it's the cat!! yay!!!
9.o
Definitely a great song 🎵
Joe is a master of the guitar. Musical genius.
I'm SO GLAD kitty jumped on the keyboard! I looked down and realized I wasn't subscribed!?!?!? How the heck...? Thank you kitty. I've re-subscribed xoxoxo
You make every song sound better, thanks.
Thank you
"This is my favorite part!" - Cat
This was my high school class song of 1979❤
Cattacked !
Joe Walsh has to be the coolest man in music. Definitely someone you'd like to spend time with.
Joe Walsh is so talented! I suggest you check out some live performances he's done. My favorite lately is him performing his song 'Turn to Stone' at the Vets Aid concert from 2022. I listened and loved this song in my teenage years, never knew who sang it. Still a classic! Thanks for bringing this back fresh for me : )
Your cat is really into Joe Walsh!😂🐱🎸💥✨👀🤣
Thanks for this. Joe was great. I won't say more because i'm sure someone out there will try to blister me,.😄
This true is story. He says, Touring so much he was almost never home Hence has a mansion but never stays there. Also, he lost his wallet with his license in it, never replaced it. Joe Walsh
Funk #49
Love the cat!! I knew I liked you, lol. This is a great song. Along with many of his other songs and those of the James Gang, of which he was a member, they were on the radio all the time in the 70s. Have you heard the James Gang's Funk 49? You'd love it.
I used to Work for Fry's Electronics, and one day Joe Walsh walked in as a customer in my department. He was very nice and friendly, if a bit shy.
ALL RIGHT! Joe Walsh hit it outta the park with this hit song. Love it. Thanks for the glimpse of yesteryear, sister. See ya on the next. Peace and Love. Go with God. Shoutout from this old, longhaired rocker in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. Later.
Joe is a great bunch of guys 👦
He is a great guitarist and he played with The James Gang listen to Funk #49 he also joined the Eagles and was great

I can't complain - but sometimes I still do
One of the greatest lyrics ever
This is my favorite joe Walsh song!!!!
Rocky Mountain Way by Joe Walsh is one you should definitely check out, too.
LOL! Live your cat! Listen to Joe Walsh perform Rocky Mountain Way. Preferably live.
He was on the Drew Carey show.
Don't worry, Don Henley can't block this one, and Joe Walsh is speaking too much truth, to try and sober up enough to block it.
Ha!
O Yeah !....
I have cats and they also jump on my computer keyboard all the time.
Many times in the basement with black light and a little weed 😎
This is one of my favorites from Joe. But he's got so msny great songs. James Gang, Eagles, and solo stuff...
"In case I'm attacked"
Live, action packed reactions.
The cat earned a Like
Your CAt is FAMOUS!!!
If u want to know what this song is about watch life's been good the spoken word. It is hysterical.
You don't leave Joe before the end Tasha!
Great choice, thank you. The album cover cracks me up! He's sitting at the bottom of a pool.
His bandmates said Joe was a great couple of guys.
Now you gotta hear ordinary art average guy by joe
that pretty much was his life through the 70s, 80s listen to some of the eagles interviews they tell some real stories about him.
Looks like the kitty cat likes the music.
Tasha has her own channel ? Subbed already.
GREAT REACTION TY
Don't you just love having pets..they make your life so much better..lol
WELL HE DID EXPERIENCE ALOTTAAAAA STUFF WITH THE EAGLES TASHA SO ! 😊
Really? I'll have to do some research
Joe's the very best. IMO
This guy is one goofy guy. He opened for Bob Seger a few years ago annd was hilarious on stage. A little fact he's Ex Beatles drummer Ringo Starr brother in law.
It's tough being a big Rock Star.
From an old guy and fellow chair dancer, I must say you're adorable and articulate, a double plus! Subscribed on first encounter, do well, dear.
You're a rock chick Tasha
😎✌🏾
Kitty!
Joe is quite comical. He loves to clown around on stage and sometimes even tell jokes. His jokes sometimes are really corny but because Joe is a funny guy, his corny jokes still make us laugh.
Love Joe
Oh and that was funny when your cat 🙀 jumped up.. lol
I really appreciate and Adore you I love when you do reaction videos like this I Love you UNCONDITIONALLY
Your a goddess and your now true part of my family ❤️❤️
I enjoy TNT. Now like T solo😂
Kitty!
😻
I think the "unique sound" you heard was the mouth harp.
Everytime there's a really unique sound it's the mouth harp. I'll have to remember that. Thanks Ken

@@tashajackson I researched the instruments on the song. It's not a mouth harp. It's a synthesizer. Please see my reply to the OP.
Try another Eagles alum Don Henley for either Dirty Laundry or The Boys of Summer.
Lastly, your channel should be called cat-scratch reactions! 😁
Great reaction, BTW I like your cat.....She (or he) is a diva, and just wanted some media exposure!
The thing about listening to classic rock is that it is a sensory experience. The sounds, random voices lol be ready.
Your cat obviously hates funny jokes in rock music. But, dogs love Joe Walsh. They think he’s a pisser.
This track is a fun listen for a while - but its a song like his lyric - "its hard to leave when you can't find the door" - made the song a bit too long and repetitive.

Why does the main attraction, have less subscribers? Asking for a friend...
Our demographics are different. Mine are more interactive, his aren't. Which is why bands like the Eagles should stop blocking and striking channels that expose their music to a new generation.
@@tashajackson You're still the better half, but we love you both. Thanks for reacting to all our favorites. =)
Cat interference is always ok.
