Joe Walsh - The very definition of a rock star.
really good Jasmin tea?!? that's not a rock star
@@GerardHammond That was Daryl Hall that said and not Joe Walsh
@@thestaffrockband Jasmine tea IS delicious. Can’t blame Darryl for loving it!!
He and Stevie Nicks were an item for a while. Definitely a rock star.
Instead of whiskey and Cocaine? He wants to live a little longer than those of the past...@@GerardHammond
Imagine writing such a legendary song then playing it with a legend in his freaking house! What a life.
The REAL PLAY!! My HEROES AND I LOVE EM)🤟🤘☝️
HOW THE FUCK IS JOE 76 YEARS OLD ....? and STILL GREAT!!!
Drugs, the really expensive ones 😂
Daryl is a year older - 77 . . .
Muscle memory.
This was recorded many years ago though...
This episode originally aired in November of 2012. But still impressive for 64 or 65 years old.
hats off to the drummer, people probably do not realize how hard it is too keep that beat during the intro. Joe comes in with the guitar in a very fascinating place, it is what makes this song stand out so much.
He didn’t realize how hard is to wear an ugly jersey of Atlético Mineiro. 😅😅😅😅 he Did a great job
Hes a drummer. Im sure he knows how to keep the beat
Keeping time on his leg
Bryan Dunn is his name. He’s been playing with Darryl for years. I met him a few years back. Really cool dude, too!
His timing is impeccable.
I'm so old I don't even think of Walsh as an Eagle...loved playing Funk 49 on my 8-track, that James Gang holds up.
Me too..James gang, 8-track, good speakers, ditching high school…then pop-in Savoy Brown, lol
Absolutely..Don Henley and Vince Gil were all Eagles..
Me three, and they sure do! Our local band played "Walk Away" and I would bug them until they did it, lol...
I do, mainly because I saw him perform with The Eagles in 1977 (before this song came out) They played for SIX hours. They were still playing when we left at midnight.
James Gang Rides Again. Still!
I absolutely love JOE WALSH he is our musical antidepressant!!!!!
One of the best rock songs of all time.
it's so languid yet anxiety inducing at the same time. brilliantly written.
That and Funk 49
I’ve heard it a million times but I think seeing and hearing it live like this, with good musicians doing their thing, shows how good of a rock and roll song it is.
God I'm old (74)! I have loved The James Gang, Joe Walsh, since my college years. Absolutely great!
"This is really good tea!" Funny how many stages we go through to finally end up saying that about tea. ;)
😂
unmistakable sounds of Joe Walsh.
Gotta crank it everytime!
Just love how Joe has really cleaned up his life and is all about the music now. He's always been great, now he appears to genuinely be having a good time.
I literally had this song in my head before I woke up this morning. Was hummin and singing it as I made tea, Opened UA-cam and there was this video at the top of my feed. Life has been good to me too. I had stage 4 cancer in 2020. I beat it! Now I am living life learning guitar, planting a garden, playing with my kids and loving life. Thank you guys for this awesome wake up video.
literally?
Stay well.
I got this song in my head in 1979 when I saw the film FM at Alfred NY. This and Steely Dan has been bouncing (ricochet) around in there ever since.
I'm so glad you are healthy now? Keep living large. Prayers for continued good health. 💪🙏🥳
Why do I love Joe Walsh? Even in the old days, when he played and sang ripped. The man alway enunciates each word.
Darryl is a genius for this idea. Brilliant. 2 legends
The episodes with Todd Rundgren in Hawaii are the best!!
“Joe Walsh” was blessed with a GOD given talent! No body else can replicate him!
This is so freakin' tight. Absolute pros
Great band, Joe was on fire as usual, Daryl lets everyone shine in their own way. Exhilarating and uplifting!
C’mon, who doesn’t love Joe? (And he looks great, even after all his riotous livin’!)
All these years and it just occurred to me that Joe and Steve Miller are very similar in that they both play thick distinctive notes although different motifs. Since I'm an O.F. I remember both their origins.♡.
Wow. That was record worthy.
Playback
When I hear your “Raw” Real, vocals….. makes me hope there is “Promise” for the WORLD of music out there! Love you Joe Walsh.
You guys are amazing! Joe, you still sound exactly like you did when you were a much younger man.👍🤟🤟🤟Unbelievable
I've loved that song for as long as I've known it.. That's the best rendition ever 🔥
The best musical presentation of this song I've seen.. Awesome job, All of you musicians..
Amazing performance of a great rock song. Daryl Hall s idea of the show Is fabulous.
Joe Walsh a true musician
I love Joe Walsh! What an incredible talent he is!
This drummer is a complete beast. Every video I see of him, is just incredible. Perfect. Daryl is lucky to have him
The sheer energy between all of them! All because of Joe Walsh! What an absolute legend❤
Look at that smile on Daryl's face like children again jamming in a garage
Besides you Darryl, Joe's voice and playing jump out at me, since i was a child, it's bizarre listening to him speak and walk around, but strap a guitar on him, its like a superhero cape, he turns into a complete alien with powers that baffles the mind
I was a kid when this was all over the Dutch radio I listened to. The song still holds up today. Yeah, life's been good!
Love Joe's sense of humour - makes me laugh out loud, and his playing makes me smile . . . Been listening since "Funk 49" was first released. Used to cover it in our band in 1972 - with my then-teen-aged brother playing lead. Joe has such a unique voice - and can make his style fit anything. I saw him accompany James Taylor - who was playing his finger-style on an acoustic (a Martin, I think) - and I think they were doing "Steamroller Blues." It just made me smile. He's definitely one of my faves - and that hasn't changed in 50+ years . . .
Love how Joe establishes the tempo, right quick!
One of the greatest rock songs of all time, got to love that reggae groove Joe does
The one, the only
omg daryl hall and joe walsh, i think i just died and went to heaven. my 2 ultra favourites in one place. that didn't sound good daryl, it was magnificent. i could listen all night.
Great duet together @Daryl Hall and Joe Walsh. It tickled me to hear @Joe Walsh's instrument history as I am a trombone player and You have a pointbthere!!😂❤
I love listening to these jams Darryl Hall!! Thank you for creating and sharing them!! Joe Walsh made some awesome music for sure!! For this song, my good friend from high school and I used to sing but we changed the lyrics to “7” not 4!! Those were the days!!!
YESSIR!! Thank you for officially uploading this! Such an amazing mix and group of musicians. Joe fkn Walsh!!
If you want to make a magical, musical dish that surprises all your senses, this is the way to do
it !!!!🎶🎶🌞
And let’s not forget how Joe gives back to the Vets!!
I saw Joe when the Eagles toured Australia. Truely one of the greats. 🎸🙏
I saw this dude play for free once at a 4th of July festival before Hell froze over and the Eagles got back together again. Unkept, long hair, beard. Looked like a drunk homeless person.
My God could he play. Love Joe. And I still remember when he walked on stage with the Eagles cleaned up and he got the biggest applause, rightfully so, out of all of them.
And thanks to Don Felder for helping Joe turn his life around.
Maybe because I'm older, but I so enjoy this version of the song even over the original. We change as life goes on and hearing that "voice of experience" in the lyrics makes the song much more compelling.
I was thinking the same and I love the original!
This tune never gets old. Thank you
It's easy to get caught up in the humor of the lyrics, but underneath that is a complex, well constructed song with great transitions. The way it moves between the soft-pedaled underline of the verses, to the rocking out chorus, and back again gives you the feeling of the hectic life of a rock star.
I agree, as I commented earlier, it's got that sort of lazy, carefree vibe but builds anxiety as the listener is sort of waiting for everything to fall apart for the "narrator".
These guys really are Rock Stars!!
This has to be the best version of the song...ever ! Joes double, back grab riff on the guitar and Darryls guitar dump on Cant G
Find the Door. Just too funny. Play loud on big speakers and frighten the neighbours 🤪
Joe fuckin Walsh!!!!!! Epic song that will last forever!!!!!!!
Amazing Joe and Amazing Daryl, funny Joe talking always like " drunked". Eh! Eh! Eh! Eh!
I have nothing but love and emenise respect for Joe Walsh 👏
AWESOME, Joe loves that Maserati.!!
Ah your special don't you forget it!!❤
Legends, just amazing 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
What a treat
What a way to spend your retirement!!!!!!!!
❤️💃❤️💃❤️💃❤️💃❤️💃
Excellent rendition gotta put this in my playlist for sure
Love Walsh..Sat in a Blizzard watching him Jam live outside in Park City. Was a blast..
Awesome, Nothing more needs to be said!
What a treat to get to look in on this jam session with all this talent and fun happening!
I would literally give a kidney or a lung to see Joe Walsh live before it's too late. Guy's the king of rock guitar.
The show was so much better with this band and this format. I miss it!
"I lock the doors and eat my Big Mac". Eagles...December 31, 1999, Staples Center. Amazing concert!!
This has been one of my favorite songs ever since it first came out, and this version is pure fire! I do miss the 12-string hits in the original, but man... Joe is still the Man!
Would not have thought their voices would go together so well! Love this!
The Smoker I Drink. The Player I Get.
This song came out the very year and month that I bought my first car. I must have played it 1000 times in that awesome car.
Joe still sounds and plays great..
Holy sh*t Walsh guitar solo still HUGE
Saw him at the Chesterland Hullabaloo in northeastern Ohio back in the late sixties. We were both a little younger..
I have a distinct memory of the kids on the school bus singing every word of this song by heart at the top if their lungs on the ride home from school. Now THAT'S a song.
In fact, that's what makes Daryl's House so amazing is hearing these songs from your past, like Howard Jones' "No One Is To Blame" that song is deep in your cranium.🧠
Wow! That was awesome! I enjoyed it as a teenager and now as an adult. Still the same- rockin' self.
Love you Daryl and Joe... :)
This is a fantastic collaboration. They all sound amazing. Hats off to everyone. Including the guy that made the tea.. 😝
Freakin´ love Joe Walsh. The man is an institution.
Growing up, I would never have imagined a day would come when a man would feel like he had to explain to an international audience what Sears & Roebuck was.
"My name is Sears & Roebuck, store of stores--
Look on my works, ye Mighty, and despair!"
Love Daryl... going on and on about how good the tea is... LOL... class act!
I met Joe Walsh in 2005. He looks and sounds exactly the same! Life's Been Good to Me So Far was one of my favorite songs when it came out and I was 9 years old! I want to know about his longevity program. I went to A Hall & Oats concert when I was 14 and it made a huge impression one me. This pairing brought me so much joy!
Joe Walsh for President!
When I divorced my husband of thirty years, I didn't miss him... but, damnit,he kept my Joe Walsh albums!☮️
😱 oh no no no no
😂😊💜☮️🎼🎸🙏🌈
You blame him?
@@dizastro5437 yes.yes I do. He doesn't even like Joe Walsh, and that's unforgivable! ☮️
That monster.
Notice how he cleverly sneaked in a little Hotel California into the lead. Joe's sense of humor.
There are just certain hooky rock tunes from "back in the day" that grab ya. . .and THIS one is at the top of the list! BIG props to Daryl's House!
When I first heard this song back in the day, I thought the lyrics were amazing.
Haven’t heard Joe Walsh in a long time, sounds good with Daryl Hall ❤
Nothing more to say! Simply magic!!
Wow. Joe with Daryl and crew at his house. Simply fantastically awesome!
As a kid in the 70s I spent a decent amount of one summer travelling around with an uncle as he made deliveries in his van and he liked the radio on. This song was my absolute favourite at the time. Nice to see Joe's still got it.
How the f00k is Joe Walsh still alive? He's lived life good enough for a dozen or more. Seriously, I hope he has. The energy that one hook has given so many people. Bamp, bamp. The rest of the song is gravy and an opportunity for reflection. My Maserati does 185, I lost my license now I can't drive. S--t you chased after ain't worth s--t, find what's important in life. Peace brothers.
I bought this on a 45 and still have it. I remember walking down our road one night with it playing on a small battery radio. I still have that also.
Theses guys are great!!❤❤❤❤❤
Damn.... Daryl knocked this out the park!
Not a big Eagles fan or Joe Walsh fan but this song ALWAYS gives you a great smile...😊
Try James Gang Rides Again!
Joe knows how to write "feel good" riffs, and his leads are very tastefully scripted, and you know this by each time you see him playing live he plays the same "key solos" and then you know how tight his groups were
How can anyone on earth 🌍 even say something so insane as not a fan of eagles or Joe with all do respect u sir were cheated in life by having lobes with no ears .u hb my sympathies.
@@gysforeign7802
Uhhh, Not a "Big" Eagles or Joe fan.... They're ok, but not my thing...
I guess too much AM radio in my day.... I actually know people who aren't big Beatles or Stones fans...?? That's what the dial on your radio is for....
@@gysforeign7802
BTW, y'all did see where i said, "this song always makes me smile".....? Right??
Brilliant! Time for the James Gang to reunite!
He looks like he really has a blast playing they all do
Love you Joe. Happy you're still rockin'.
Wow this takes me back to hanging out in the summer at the park with this blaring on someone’s boombox. Good times.
I love a good rock track that slams hard!! 👍🏻👍🏻
Joe Walsh rocks , and rips on that guitar … so good …
That Joe fellow has still got it - Rock & Roll Man!!!!!!! Fabulous
