Price of boost Vs price of HCI is roughly the same except you can run low 9s in a boosted gen2 or Gen 3 coyote mustang with a basic drag setup. With proper gears, axles and 10 speed there are absolutely a dime a dozen 8 second coyotes.

That 60’ and you’re there. You should be able to knock it out with the right tire, pressure, and burnout routine then slip the clutch enough to not hit it hard but also not let it bog. If you want to make it easy get Kelltrac coilovers. My launches were 5,500 with a little clutch slip on the release. Not much just enough to not knock them loose
The mods listed at the beginning of the video along with dropping some weight. I didn’t lose any comforts just swapped parts for lighter parts mostly and was around 3,100 with driver. Also carbon synchros and billet shift forks when I rebuilt the trans. Lots of driving and tuning to find it’s way from high 10’s to high 9’s.
The red one? A Coyote engine that is the standard for NMRA coyote stock class. It doesn’t mph what I can but he’s almost perfect on the tree and it can 60’ very well. They have that thing dialed.
@@dansherwood9851 somewhere just over 3,100 lbs with me in it at that time. It dyno’d 609whp when it was doing 3-5mph less in the quarter. The final tuning changes were made at the track maybe we were somewhere in the mid 600’s at this point.

5,500 off the two step and as I release the two step button I’d also have to do a gradual clutch release rather than snapping it. Took some figuring out and coordination to fight that line between spinning, bogging, and burning the clutch.
I’m putting together the parts for the same build, I have the Ported MSD ( by IronMask ) NW 103 ,60lbs fuel injectors , Monster LT1S triple clutch, I’ll put it all on when I get the remaining stage 3 parts. Question what trunnions do you use on your stock rockers? I changed my oil yesterday and had 3 needle bearings on my oil plug sucks car just has 6600 miles on it but Im glad it happened now then later … thanks 🤙
@@derekperkins4141 no I haven’t used them. The only thing I know to 100% avoid after building this car is the MGW shifter. It’s not good for quick shifts. It’ll cost you your synchros

On these passes I’d estimate just under 3k lbs without driver. Nothing major removed it still had AC and factory interior. Lithium battery and two piece(factory style) front rotors saved some. Front sway bar removed for weight and better weight transfer. Wheels/tires, catless headers, and some of the other typical mods also drop a good amount of weight. I also make sure I don’t have too much fuel, no floor mats/full glove box and things like that. Washer fluid is typically empty. There’s a lot of little stuff that adds up. I’m around 160lbs.
Are you still on the stock fuel pump? I’m doing a Frankenstein F710MB 13.2:1 compression build. I have 750cc injectors and a fast 102 ported mani and a 102 on meth. Wondering if my pump would max out
@@HCIZ06 I never tried flex fuel. Mine was always on 93 octane from Circle K. At the track we used VP madditive octanium unleaded which you can get at AutoZone to make sure it wouldn’t have any knock but it ran on the street on the same tune without it.

Did all the work myself except for tuning but the cost of lightweight rotors, battery, wheels, transmission parts, clutch and hydraulics, electronics like WB and 2 step, the engine parts even for a SBE build, and then the Kelltrac coilovers which I never got to use at the track but they did drop .5 on the street with only 3 attempts all being faster than my previous best before doing them. It adds up quick. I sold it this spring at a huge loss to buy my house but now I’m $60k into the S10 Blazer I just started posting. Hopefully it’s faster I don’t like it more but I’ve owned it since I was 15 so I’m attached to it.
@@jaimegutierrez3815 two step was at 5,500. I come off the clutch fairly quick but I’m not dumping it. Slow enough to be a softer initial hit on the tires and not bog but hard enough to keep the weight transferred.
@@jamesbyrd9514 for sure I’m almost $70k deep into it over 2 seasons. With the new suspension it should be the fastest manual stage 4 car and I didn’t strip anything out to get there or do anything drag specific beyond the new shocks.
Once competition started I didn’t mess with the dragy. Too much to concentrate on and cut a good light with data logging on top of that and starting a GoPro.

The only thing that kept me from a C6 Z or even the 2015 Z28 LS7 was the LS7 poor reliability, weak titanium rods/valves, guys destroying a totaly stock engine with under 7k miles, and then GM finally concedes theres issues in 2011 I think. Worst part is guys doing H/C and still blow'g C6 Z's. I always wanted one.
Mine had somewhere in the 44k range when I sold it. I think I did the heads at 38k. I plan on doing another 427 in my camaro but it will be a resleeve block capable of more.
My next 427 will have the sleeves and pistons to take nitrous but not this one. Next one won’t be in a corvette though I have another platform for that.

Just gotta drive them a lot. Took a good amount of track days to learn what it likes. First time out it was an 11 second car.

Warning, the LS7 is GMs most unreliable V8. Weak vales/rods. Engines grenade in stock form and a full Head/cam won't fix it.

I used BTR trunnions. We have them on several engines with no issues.

Expected you to be in 5s 60-130. Guessing the 9 sec runs you were high 5s oops just didn’t post dragy numbers for those runs
