    Want to find out what your Testosterone levels are? Visit our friends at Let's Get Checked => trylgc.com/fitfather You can purchase an at-home testing kit and they mail it straight to you. No prescription or doctor visit required. We're a big fan of their "Male Hormone Advanced" and "Male Hormone Complete Panels" as you get to see Total T levels, Free T, Estrogen, and even things like blood Cortisol levels.
    When it comes to hormone levels, getting clear on your current numbers is the best first step. Good luck gents :)

    For any guys who are diabetic or pre diabetic, you may need to pay special attention to Vitamin D and reducing insulin resistance as these are common problems for many guys in this situation that affect T and the ability to build and maintain muscle.

    Another doctor cautioned that combining zinc and magnesium bind and increase harmful metal retention in the body, is this true and what levels are safe? Thank you for the great information you provide.

    • @Fitfatherproject
      @Fitfatherproject  Рік тому

      Hey Scott, thanks for writing in and great question. Zinc and Magnesium are often paired together due to their synergistic absorption properties. Only when you are taking very high levels of zinc (140mg+) can you interfere for some harmful effects. But please consult with your personal physician for a definitive answer as only they know you and your situation best.

    I find your videos very interesting as well as informative. Question...why do so many of those doing exercise and health videos, including yourself, make no mention of benefits for octogenarians? I am a healthy man who is 84 yo. I work out at the local YMCA twice a week using machines and free weights. I ride a recumbent trike 4 times a week. I eat healthy, watch my diet and sleep and drink plenty of water. My BMI is 22. Recently one of my doctors ordered T level checks. AM reading was in the low 900s and afternoon and afternoon results showed low 600s. My mind is clear, my libido very high, and I would say that my stress level is low. A video or two for those of us in our 80s would be appreciated. Thanks for the info.

    I watched this video and noted that there was one very important testosterone problem that was left out, prolactinomas. A prolactinoma is a prolactin secreting pituitary tumor that can produce enough of the hormone to completely shut down the testicles. It was thought that they were extremely rare and exclusively a woman's problem. Recent research (last 25 years) shows that they are extremely common and just as common in men as women. Many doctors are still not aware of this. They are benign, very slow growing and very often misdiagnosed for years. I had one that was misdiagnosed for 12 years.
    Having your testosterone reduced, essentially to zero, causes a depression so profound that life has a palpable thickness to it, like walking around under water all the time. It is suspected that undiagnosed prolactinomas are the leading cause of suicide among middle aged men. If a man has loss of libido, erectile disfunction, weight gain that cannot be stopped, and breast development he should run to his doctor and insist that his prolactin level be checked. The doctor probably will be reluctant to do it and his health insurance will be reluctant to pay for it since he is a man but insist. The doctor who directed my treatment said, "If a woman starts producing milk and she is not pregnant she will go her gynecologist and her prolactinoma will be diagnosed. With a man it is usually diagnosed by a pathologist."

      @@steddie123 Hey, Eddie, I've got a running question for you. Is there a rule of thumb as to how much a runner can improve from being a very casual runner, to if they have good coaching, lay down the mileage, and ate right?
      I never ran a lot, but always enjoyed it, especially in hot weather. I never ran in the winter, so each spring was starting over. Had brain surgery when I was 52, had to learn to walk again, and can't run now, the left side doesn't remember how.
      I've wondered how much better I could have been. My best 5k time was when I was about 29. Was running maybe 10 miles a week, late August in south Georgia, race was at midnight, about 90 degrees and 90 percent humidity. Did it in 20:00 flat, which was a surprise, I'd been shooting to do it in 24:00.
      With coaching etc, would one be likely to cut 2 minutes? 3 minutes?
      I'm 5' 6", fairly muscular naturally, and weighed 154, 156-lbs at the time.
      Will coaching and all make some improvement, or a lot of improvement? Thanks for your insight!

    Doc A: Thank you for your ongoing, value-packed, no fluff, no small talk, no salesman videos. QUESTION: Is High-intensity interval training (HIIT) good for testosterone? If so how much?

    • @Fitfatherproject
      @Fitfatherproject  3 роки тому +2

      Hey Steve, thanks for writing in and great question! HIIT can be fantastic to help boost T levels in multiple ways. Not only can that form of exercise boost it directly, it's also a very efficient way to burn fat, helping you boost it indirectly as well. For more info on HIIT, check out some of our HIIT videos here==>ua-cam.com/users/Fitfatherprojectsearch?query=hiit
