I've been struggling with sharing my PPT file for my presentation today. Your tutorial rescued me out of all complexities out there online. Many thanks!
I was hoping that you'd show e.g. as a teacher, how to see students' screens. I've been hunting for this for ages. Thank you for the clear explanation of what you did cover.
Hi, the Teams interface has changed significantly since I published this video. I made an updated version, so please check that out here: ua-cam.com/video/phB5x2NdHOY/v-deo.html
Thank you Sumandak. I know the interface has changed since I published this video, but the core of it is still relevant. Thanks for watching and thank you for the feedback.
Hi Khushboo - Thanks for your comment and question. Using the the window screen share will show exactly what you have showing in that window. So if you're showing your PPT file in presentation mode, the viewers will see the slide that you're on. And as you move through the different slides, the viewers will see the changes. It will not freeze on one slide.
Thanks Romano. I just happened to publish an updated version to this video since the Teams interface has changed significantly since I made this video. You can check that out here for the most relevant info: ua-cam.com/video/phB5x2NdHOY/v-deo.html
So if I have a meeting and it's a video call on teams, and if I'm asked to share my desktop, I select the second option you mentioned so I only show one screen, but I can still take notes on a different screen which they won't see ? Is that correct man ? Cheers!
TY for your time & effort!! How do we delete or remove the files from the team's share folder?? I can't find it and I don't want those files shared, I'm not even sure how they wound up there
Hi - I'm not sure I understand the question. If you're referring to those document thumbnails you see as you try to share your screen, these are either files you currently have open, or files you've recently used. The files themselves could be stored in whichever place you saved them to (teams sharepoint site or not). It doesn't necessarily mean that the files themselves are being shared with anyone. Hope this answers your question. Thanks.
@@AndyPark365 I appreciate your responding, I was forced to upload to the one drive because they went strictly online with office & ALL the desktop apps are gone, some of those pwt-pts and files show up in teams but they have too much info to shared. I cannot seem to delete them or remove e m...there is no option for this !
@@AndyPark365 Thank you, I want to remove them from the recently viewed list, but I don't see anyway to do it in teams, the list just keeps growing plus a bunch of stuff is there that I never used, so not sure how it got there in the 1st place
Great video and explained so well. Regarding option #2, sharing a window, how can the user protect from accidently displaying content that I don't want people to see: for example, new email notification, new teams messages from others, etc. Since I only have the one monitor this feature seems best for me but I'm concerned new messages will pop up during the share and forcing me to close those messages quickly.
Hi Jav, if you select the share windows option, it will only display the selected window for the viewers. The window you selected will always be highlighted by a border around it so you can easily tell what's being shared. None of the windows notification, including Teams and email alerts will show for the viewers. Hope this clarifies. And thanks for the nice feedback!
Perfect thank you. I needed to see this as I have to share my screen next week for a meeting. Can I use my window screen if I have multiple documents to share?
Hi Jenny - for multiple documents, I would use the "screen" share option instead. Just make sure you turnoff all notifications and maybe close all applications that you don't want to accidentally share. If you use the share "windows" option, you will have to turn off screen share to select another doc to share and repeat this process every time you switch from one doc to another. Hope this makes sense.
Thank you for explaining but this really is a flaw in MS teams, what if someone doesn't want to share the entire screen and just share 3-4 documents out of multiple open ones
Yes Arjun. If you choose the "share window" option, the application must be open for it to show up on the list to select from. For the "share PowerPoint" option, it shows recently opened file.
Thank you for valuable information. I need help please, no desktop or PowerPoint option or screen I can share. I already pressed the share icon and the only option appears is the freehand by invision. Can you help me please to solve this problem
Haha Bernice. No I didn't build it. It's an online excel template. You can go to file | new | search online template for "project tracker". Where did you see the sensitivity button?
Hey Nasiruddin - Unfortunately, Teams doesn't' allow sharing of system audio on mobile devices like iPads yet. This is a feature that many people have been requesting, so maybe they will add it to their roadmap. You can up-vote this feature in Teams UserVoice by clicking on this link: tinyurl.com/y52s3tkd
Can you share your screen without sending a meeting invitation? Sending a meeting invitation for 5 minutes of sharing your screen seems not worth it. Any tricks?
Yes! From a chat window (either group chat or one-on-one) there is an icon on the top right to share your screen. You can share your desktop or a window. Don't even need to be on a call. Hope this helps.
Hi Gamingo, this video is a bit outdated since Microsoft Teams updated their interface. Please check out the updated video here: ua-cam.com/video/phB5x2NdHOY/v-deo.html. Thanks for watching.

Thank you for the clear explanation of what you did cover.
Hi Jean - Unfortunately, you won't be able to see your students' screens unless they actively share it. At least not with MS Teams. Sorry.
Andy, many thanks for your demo and explanation, cleared up many problems and concerns I have had thus far.
Thanks Alan. Glad it helped.
