Every day a video with quality content... best informative channel on YT. I've already learned a lot from your videos, thanks! You're doing a great job!
I like the pace and the flow of your videos and that I can go directly to a chapter if I want. Great production! I hardly subscribe to any channels but yours is so useful I subscribed. Good luck to you!
Just wanted to let you know that your channel is awesome. I work for a very large organization and we have a dedicated team that supports MS Teams, but I find your videos to be more helpful than most of the training they’ve put out. Keep up the great work!
Hi Kev I wanted to thank you for all your tutorials ! I went back to when you started these ,each day I watch them. I'm learning so much .I feel like I'm taking free classes ,except I'm learning more than what they would teach in a paid classroom !Your video tutorials are well explained and ...well your just awesome! Thank you again and keep them coming !
One useful feature in a meeting is.. the names of people who are speaking appears in bold font in the participant list.. this comes handy when someone with noisy background forgets to mute .. you can scroll through the list and look at bold names to identify the lines with audio coming in and mute if needed. (You can also look at mute icon... but sometimes people may be using mute function from their headset or external audio device instead of using mute function of Teams, and muting them in Teams may cause confusion as they may not be able to unmute as they expected to later). It will be very useful if Teams could sort the participant list according to last speaking so that we can always see the latest speaking (or noisy lines) people names on top.
Excited to have an in-depth video on planner. Learned that it’s less functional in action if the team was created NOT based on a ms group (that’s a tricky topic and really important!). People do not get email reminders for planner tasks, if there is no backend ms group and you can’t add the group later either?!...notifications are needed on the planner tab or something...maybe there are other ways to get notifications in planner? We have people outside the org (guests) on teams too...so would like to learn more about notifications in planner and teams!
Hey Kevin, I'm a big fan of your video tutorials. They are beautifully made and very crisp. I was wondering if you could make a video on some of the best 3rd party apps within teams especially related to education and student assessment. It would be a big help, thanks.
We just had some Teams Training yesterday as we are early adopters in our organisation. Not everything is available to us yet as they are rolling things out in stages but there are pretty cool features. A good one I picked up was how powerful typing / in the search bar at the top of teams is and also how to quickly send a message to multiple people that you contact regularly.
Adding one more tip. You can have panelist turn on videos, put everyone in the theatre mode seats, share your screen, and everyone sees the same people and all panelists can interact! We also use for group photos and take screen shots. This is great for retirement and end of conference photos!
major flaw: Teams invites DO NOT say the timezone on the invite. This is a major error that MS needs to fix. it tries to guess my time zone but gets it wrong, and I have no way to know its wrong. the only work around is if the meeting host will type out the time and timezone of the meeting and put it in the text of the email.
Hi. Thanks for these. I do have a question for you, which might become a new topic: I have to teach a class for a random group of professionals. It needs to include a PowerPoint slide show, time at the whiteboard, heavy use of sticky notes on the whiteboard by all the students, exercises written in Word, and the ability to call on individual students. I have a team of four, and we might be able to distribute some of the work, but we can't quite figure out how to juggle all of this. Back in the days before virtual classrooms, the students would have a notebook that included copies of the slides (with room for them to take their own notes), copies of the exercises, printed worksheets, and a full pad of sticky notes, which they would arrange on a physical wall. Yes, they can create the sticky notes on the whiteboard, and I can help them arrange them when the time comes. My concern is that my team and I won't be able to see the presentation, the whiteboard, and the list of students (who are guaranteed to slip in and out as their own project crises dictate). In addition, the students will almost certainly be reading the Word exercises from e-mail (or possibly a SharePoint link), making them jump back and forth from the written exercise and the whiteboard. Um. Help?
The transcript is a record of what was written in the chat during the meeting, correct? Not what was "said" verbally/orally. Can the Captions be recorded and downloaded? If yes, this can be super helpful for recording meeting minutes!
Consider my mind BLOWN!!! I am an EA that has worked in C-Suites and retired 2 years ago. The last international company I was working for was just implementing Teams so it was not as dynamic as it is now. What an incredible tool! I certainly hope my former colleagues have received training for all these amazing tips.
Hello! Kevin been watching your videos to help us in our office work. really big help. I want to ask 1 advise on how to have a good sharing audio for the apple devices? currently my teachers when screen sharing their videos their is no audio also on apple their is "include system audio" like in windows. really need help thank you!
Kevin, as the GOV version of these tools do not have all the features that you sometimes reference, do you have any "work around tips and tricks" that you could suggest. That goes for anyone else as well. I would love to get some insight on what some other GOV users are doing with regards to Tasks, deadline notifications, and seeing these in teams or.... or.. or.. where ever you have found to be the most helpful. Thanks in advance. Also... Kevin... you have become our teams favorite default go to trainer. We refer to you by your first name. ie... "Listen, before you go any further ... have you listened to what Kevin has to say about this topic?"
Hello Kevin! I have followed your videos for quite a while now. And I have to say, that your videos are great! Straight to the point and well explained. Do you plan to make a video on Sharepoint?
Hello, thanks for the tips. Which way you recommend to interview side by side a person inside a Teams meeting ? Is would be like the spotlight function but for 2 persons. Thanks. Pablo
These tips are helpful, even if it just tells to look into the ellipses. Thanks. Question: I am presenting using Powerpoint. Then I have to switch to another application, say STATISTICA. I have to explain its usage and e.g. open a file with it. Then back to ppt. Do I have to have the app and other files open beforehand, then unshare ppt and share the app, then unshare the app and back to ppt or is there an less cumbersome way like Alt+Tab?

Love the ability to post a message to a Channel from Outlook email. Especially since we get the full selection of highlight colors, etc. from Mail which we don't get if we post directly in the Channel's Posts area. Woohoo! Thank you for this.
at 6:26 you are accessing your video on Streams but for some reason my videos do not save to Streams anymore. They are deleted after 20 days. On the 3 dot menu all I see is 1. Make it a tab, 2. Learn more (takes you to Record a Meeting MS Help article), 3. Report a problem. Do you know the reason? Could it be an Admin related limitation? Thank you for all the useful videos!
I enjoyed the video. Organized presentation. I thinking of organizing teams with a libraries on SharePoint and connect with Teams. It seems like using Teams would eliminate the reason to use Yammer (not a fan really) - what are your thoughts? Also I downloaded the app on my iPhone, but I didn't get an icon to display on the phone. Is that normal?

Hello Kevin, I have been using Teams quite a while but even if I find it amazing my students find it pretty difficult because some can't connect at all. Some students can't download TEAMS because after installation there is a sort of a loop redirecting them to Skype. Others are searching for a "button" to click when they receive the invitation and can't figure out that they have to click to "JOIN MEETING" What I am trying to say is that even though TEAMS for is us seems intuitive for some others....no. I think that Microsoft should first "fix" that. Maybe my comment is not relevant but I supposed to be in my first online class with 10 new students and 7 out of 10 encountered all these issues after downloading and installation. So this video pops up and well... I feel better now :-) Anyway, congratulations for all of your videos, and thanks for all the tips!!
Question: I'm assuming this can't be done (currently), but I think this would be the place to find out. If I have a meeting running in Teams with participants both internal and external to my company, and in which NOT everyone I invited is attending, is there a way to trigger an Outlook e-mail to go to the current participants of the meeting from within Teams?
