I watches your accutane journy and it’s so inspiring ❤️ did you experience any purging or breakouts with topical retinoid? I used accutane for 6 monthes, and now 6 months later I started incorporating the ordinary 1% retinol into my routine and I have noticed some pimples appear and I am not sure if it’s purging or breaking out
I didn't really experience any purging when I started using retinol. I would get a little red spot or two but it would never actually turn into a pimple. I would just make sure to slowly incorporate the retinol, and I think you should be okay!
I would say before accutane I had oily/sensitive skin, and I didn't use the right products for my skin type. So it made my face really red and dry because I would use product that stripped my skin and hurt my skin barrier. During my course on accutane my skin was very dry, and it stayed like that for maybe a month or two afterwords. Slowly my skin got some of its oils back, but now I would say I have combination/sensitive skin, it's not as oily as it was before but it's not as dry as it was on accutane. Hopefully this helps☺
I’m done after 9 months of accutane, and I still have LOTS of sacrs and hyperpigmentation. Im thinking of starting retinol, i havent changed my skincare yet, and its been around a week. What retinol do you use?
Plz someone tell me about hairfall I'm on week two any facing tremendous hair fall. Is anyone else facing it? I'm worried bcz I researched and found that it can be permanent loss of hair plz help me
I would definitely recommend calling your dermatologist and talking about your hair fallout. I experienced some hair fallout a little after I stopped accutane, but nothing major. Since then I have noticed my hair growing back especially my baby hairs. I was told hair loss is a side effect, but only a temporary one. So if your hair loss is very bad I would definitely contact your dermatologist.
My dermatologist said I could slowly start incorporating retinol into my skincare routine after 3 months of stopping accutane. Although I would recommend talking with a dermatologist because some say you shouldn't use it until after 6 months. Hope this helps😊
I just completed watching your accutane journey... And congratulations... I also completed my 1st month with 30mg... hoping to get clear skin
Wishing you the best of luck!😊
What happened, did Accutane cure it?
This should help. Even I’m using retin-A after my accutane course to reduce the hyperpigmentation and scarrring. 👍🏻😊
Hey did you go through purging while using retinoid even after accutane?
15 Days after accutane. starting a retinol today wish me luck!

Started accutane 3 days ago started with tretinoin for acne but it didn’t work. Now I just do 6 months on accutane.
How is your treatment going? I'm starting in a month
Have you experienced mood swings while on Accutane?
I personally didn't experience any mood swings on accutane, but I do know it is a common side effect for some people
Thank you so much for sharing! wondering what is your skin type right now? does it go back to being more oily?
