- Hello! It has been about a month since I finished my six month accutane journey. It was very long, and in the beginning I was a little worried if my skin would recover from all the scars. I wanted to remember this entire experience, the good and the bad, so I put together all the video clips I filmed on accutane. After watching the video back I am so happy with the way my skin progressed!
I am going to be starting a topical retinoid for after accutane skin maintenance. So, I will be making a video to see how it goes. To be honest, I have been putting it off because I'm scared I might purge when I start it. Although I have talked with my dermatologist about it and she told me to begin with the retinoid about a month or two after stopping accutane. And that my skin will be fine. So that video should be out in a couple weeks. I will also be making an after accutane video answering questions I have gotten in the comments. So feel free to ask anything😊

Literally wow wow wow! I’m super impressed girllll. I’m currently on accutane medication as well, 40 mg, this is my second month! First month I had 20mg that’s cz my dermatologist didn’t wanna go hard on me the first time and wanted to take things slow and easy! I appreciate that a lot! And honestly speaking your journey really inspired me a lot! Gives me much motivation and enough confidence to move on and fully trust the process! You don't have to do anything to maintain. At least I haven't. In a large majority of cases the drug causes permanent changes in the body that stop the acne lesions from forming. Debatable how it does this..but it has for me (3 years). My run was 5 monhs at 89 mg a day. Dryness was intense at times..burning eyes. I wasn't totally pleased at 5 months (some redness) but she assured me that would fade. I occasionally have a spot start to form then it just stops and disappears. Irrelevant to what I do as far as food or skin care. It's an inside job.
@@starkeymorgan4142 Hi, im currently on my 5th month and my skin is totally fine. No acne or anything just some PIH and PIE. Both chick is a bit red but its totally fine as long as i dont have any active acne. Im really greatful that i take this drug because i did not face any purging stage, maybe a little but its not that bad like others experience. Can you tell me what is your routine while and after accutance? Thankss
@@tonysamphson9879 Hey Tony. I do absolutely nothing to maintain. I rarely even wash my face. Use some moisturizers here and there. When I say I do nothing...I mean absolutely nothing. My skin is completely clear...why mess it up? 😃Accutane did the work..now I don't have to

This is my 7th month of accutane I have only 1 week to complete it. And my skin started showing results when I started only the first month. Now it’s on another level. To mention that, I had cystic acne and blackheads. When I tell you that everything is gone I’m not exaggerating.
Best decision I have ever made I only hope I will be among those 80% of people who won’t have their acne back after completing my course.

Hello! I didn't get any facials while on accutane, I just stuck with a simple skincare routine. And my scars started to heal in the last month I was on accutane, but I know it isn't like that for everyone. I only really deal with post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation so I have recently starting using an over the counter retinoid. I plan to make a video showing my progress with the retinol, but it has only been about 2 weeks since I started it. I also plan to start using a vitamin c serum in the morning as well. So I will make a video answering other questions I got and updates/progress on the new products I'm using! Hope this helps😊

1 month after taking isotretinoin, I did a blood test and saw that the triglycerides in the blood have increased and the border line has become. Should I continue the medicine now? Has any of this happened to you ?? .
My dermatologist never found anything too alarming in my blood work, so I don't know. I would suggest you talk with your doctor or dermatologist about it😊
What dosage do they have you on? I've taken accutane 3 times before, on my fourth time now. I love it, I'm on 30mg.

Hello! I was on a 30 mg dosage for 6 months. And I think my scars really improved on accutane in the last 2 months. I was getting monthly blood draws until month 3 and after that I didn't need anymore they said. I hope this helps!

Did the pigmentation go naturally with the acutane Or something else was done by you to fade it
So my pigmentation has for the most part gone away naturally on accutane. I feel like in the weeks I've been off Accutane they have faded the most! I do plan on using different skincare products to help fade the rest of my scars though.

I haven't added anything new to my skin care routine since on accutane. Although I do plan to start using some new products to help keep my skin clear and fade my scars! 😊

How many times did you wash your face ?
I took accutane 80 mg daily for 5 months. I never washed my face ..only put CeraVe on it ....aquaphir for lips. If you've tried everything available except accutane consider giving it a try. I fought bacbe (deep..bleeding kind) for decades. Went all in at 52 years old and it worked. Totally worth it. I was scared of side effects..but they were nothing compared to the frustration I had. 3 years now and zero breakouts. I don't even use soap but like once a week. Don't cleanse my face..usually just water and moisturizer. No breakouts. It has been a miracle for me. By the way ..my triglycerides and liver levels dropped while on 80 mg a day. Good luck ..and do 't be scared
what r the skin care products did u use while on accutane journey?
I used the cerave foaming facial cleanser, cerave moisturizing facial lotion, and then elta MD sunscreen! ❤

Hello! My purging stopped at month three! I still got a pimple or two in the next months, but nothing close to the purging in the first 2 months😊
Did you notice your nose shrinking or changing shape?
I didn't experience any changes with my nose during my time on accutane, but I have heard of some people who have!

I using isotretinoin at least 15 days ago my skin are getting worst I'm so afraid about scars I use mask at my college and my work place can I continue 😔
You should call your dermatologist!! But I think it's "common". I'm about to start 4 week and the past week my skin was worse. I'll go to my dermatologist the next week for my next dosis, but don't be afraid or nervous, just clean your face whit a gentle cleanser like me and be patient ♡ it will be alrightttt

But on youtube it's time period is 6 months don't know they recommend me for few more months or it will be stop

The first couple of weeks are the worst, but it gets so much better after that. Make sure you have a good thick moisturizer to use. Also, if your purging is anything like mine, to help calm my skin down I would rub ice cubes on my skin at night. Good luck!

@@sidewayz9095 I use the CeraVe moisturizing cream. Just make sure your skin is a little damp when you apply it, it will go on so much nicer and it helps lock in moisture!
